due to a possible difference in Bootloader, I'm hesitant to do this.
anyone who tried to downgrade from global BETA Oreo to the global stable one without ROOT and I still have locked Bootloader?
Thank you.

Flash via fastboot and you will be just fine. http://en.miui.com/a-234.html

How to understand whether bootloader is locked or not?

Hi, I've just received my Mi max 64gb with a Miui 8 version 6.6.16.
Now I'd like to update it with the latest miui 8 dev version 6.7.7 but I don't know whether the bootloader is already unlocked or not. In order to flash latest miui 8 dev I do need unlocked bootloader even using custom update package via updater app right?
How can I understand it then whether my bootloader is unlocked or not?
Thanks in advance

I just don't wanna risk to brick it of course, that's why I haven't tried yet to flash anything.
Thanks for your post, but for the next two weeks I won't be able to use a pc. I was looking for something that let me check by myself using the phone only. I guess there's no other way than using a pc then.
if you use fastboot it will tell you

As soon you unlock the bootloader all your data is gone. Is a safety measure.
In my CASE using global dev rom did mess up google pay.
If you want to move to global dev because it has Miui 10 then is not worth it.

From here:
"Note: You can upgrade your phone by Local Update method without unlocking your phone. The method suits for the situations listed below for sure: Update to Global Stable ROM from Global Stable ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Beta ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Stable ROM and vice versa. If you encounter the issue that the reboot page keep loading for a long time after flashing, you can choose to wipe all data via entering Recovery Mode. You can turn off your device and then hold both Volume+ button and Power button at the same time to enter Recovery Mode."

You guessed right... as long as system (and vendor) verify is disabled in kernel. Magisk does it...

Hi Tott
Yes it really is this simple, I'll share the latest link for 4.13 below.
Be warned: The download speed is very slow today as this is a brand new release and everyone is downloading at once.
http://rom.download.nubia.com/Europe/NX659J/V413/NX659J-update.zip
Also, no, bootloader does NOT have to be unlocked.

Hi Sir Sam,
Is there any special technique for me to successfully flash Global ROM in my RM5G CN ROM? Tried this version as well but I'm stuck in 25% and an error message keeps popping up saying that the installation was aborted (something like that). Is there any setting I have to turn on or off for this to work?
I'm currently on CNCommon_v6.23
TIA

The reason its failing is because you have a later version of the rom already.
6.23 is more up to date than 4.13
If you wish to change to a lower rom you would need to flash via the recovery menu.
If it still fails, you can use the fastboot bypass method to install TWRP and flash from there instead.
If you use the bypass method you dont unlock you bootloader. And flashing the official rom via twrp will overwrite twrp after a successful flash. Making it stock once more.
