Is there any way to disable the secondary microphone? - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Hello Guys!
So, I am using AEX 5.2 and from what I have noticed, the phone's mic doesn't work in speaker mode. During calls and WhatsApp video calls, the party on the other side doesn't receive my voice.
It works fine with the earpiece for both normal calls and Whatsapp voice calls. I believe the secondary microphone is gone.
So I was wondering if there's any way of disabling the second mic during calls and force the phone to use the bottom mic?
I have seen some people with LG G5s having the same problem and they solved it by editing the mixer_paths_tasha.xml file (don't quote me on the exact name of the file) But I didn't find anything with that name on my phone.
Any guidance here? Please. Or am I missing something here? I really hope this is a software problem but unfortunately, the same problem remained in the safe mode.
Audio mods I have installed- Viper, Sauron, DualShox
stock kernel
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Camera mic problem

Hello! I'm having a problem with my camera mic. Whenever I record a video, the microphone level is too high and there is a lot of noise. This problem started occurring when I installed Cyanogenmod. (I always update it with nightly versions) The mic works fine when I use it for my calls, the voice on the other end is clear. I tried looking for a way to adjust the mic level but I don't believe its possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

How to fix microphone issues in-call?

Hi Im running Lineage OS (lineage-14.1-20170306-nightly-d855-signed) on my Lg G3 (d855), with latest TWRP and no superSU flashed
.
I have issues with in-call volume. The person Im talking to can only hear me if I speak "to" a specific place on my phone.
If I have headphones plugged in I have to hold my phone's top part to my mouth, if I don't have them plugged in I have to speak to the bottom part. Its really weird because when I speak to the proper place the audio is fine but if I try to speak to the other end the audio cuts out completely, no matter how loudly I shout.
It seems that the phone detects that Im speaking to the "wrong" microphone. And if the sound at the wrong microphone is louder it just silences me completely.
For example: If I shout into the bottom with headphones plugged in im completely silent for the other person, but if I whisper into the top Im completely audible.
Can someone please help? It's really annoying. Thanks!
I have the same problem (my voice is not heard by the caller). I have already edited build.prop, mixer_paths, and nothing worked. I used Magisk with an OPO-specific module and it did not work either.
Hey! I just bought a LG G3 and installed LineageOS. My Microphone does not work, too! I tried to record my voice with a recoding app. It was not possible to understand my voice, because the sound was like a massive scratching noise.
Are we really the first people finding this bug and there are no other people using the LG G3 with LineageOS?
Or maybe Kr3Ep, Aloquio and myself, we are just affected by a hardware fault?
I upgraded my Phone app by installing Google's phone app. Then I rebooted. This fixes the issue for me. (I'm on Lineage nightly on Samsung Galaxy S7).
I tried this and it didn't work. I'm surprised this hasn't been fixed yet.

Help needed for mixer_paths.xml editing to solve broken mic problem.

Hello,
Recently I have my Nexus 5x antenna repaired. But the guy messed up some other things during the process. I sorted out other problems but one still remains. The mic used during handsfree talk broken I guess. It works without problem as a handset. But when I open speaker other party can't hear me. It wasn't working with whatsapp calls neither. At the moment my N5x runs DP4. After some search I found a solution: forcing phone to use other mics by editing mixer_paths.xml. this way I was able to get it work on other apps. now I can record videos with sound, can speak handsfree mod on video and voice calls in whatsapp. But normal phone still doesn't work. What I did was to change the default value "dmic3" of "speaker-mic" with "dmic1" of "handset-mic" this way I think it uses the mic that which is used in handset use. But I couldn't figure out how to achieve the same result with normal voice calls. Anyone familiar enough with mixer_paths.xml to indicate me correct paths to edit?
Thanks in advance.
Noone?

[Solved] LG G4 (H375) microphone volume too low on Whatsapp

Hello, I recently was given this G4 and when I send an audio message in Whatsapp people complain that my volume is too low and they can not hear me (the same when I made a Discord call).
When recording a video or using the "voice recorder" the microphone volume is correct.
I downloaded an app that is supposedly able to fix the mic "bug" but it requires root. I have tried to root this phone without success.
Is there any other fix for this extremely annoying issue? Thanks in advance.
The only solution is to downgrade to Android 5.1.1.

Microphone problem when I use speaker phone - S9

Hello,
The microphone doens't work on my S9 when I use the speaker phone. The people do not hear me. I have no problem in normal call mode.
I tested to call in "safe mode" but the problem always appears.
Thank you for your help!
No idea?
Same problem here (replace xx by tt) : hxxps://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/GalaxyS/thread-id/51619/page/12
Thank you!

m also having the same problem, but also While video recording
Same problem here. Only when HD calling is enabled. If you disable HD calling, the problem should go away. I'm hoping the first software update fixes it. Just to be clear the problem is that the other person cannot hear you when on speakerphone. You should be able to hear them clearly and have no idea there is a problem unless they tell you that you sound muffled or like you are underwater. Turn off HD calling on Verizon and it goes away.
Thank you for your solution. I disabled the HD calling ("4G calling" in French) and the voice can be heard now. But the quality is very very bad! It is scandalous for a phone of this price!
Is there an other solution to improve the microphone quality during a call with speakerphone?
Thank you!
HD Calling?
I have the same issue, but have no idea how to disable HD Calling ( I'm on Sprint BTW). These minor issues are ticking me off; I've already had for factory reset once due to Camera settings crashing the app.. . now this nonsense. Phone isn't even 14 days out of the box, and its DEFINITELY not an "third party-app" issue. Bad time to switch from iPhone, huh? This is unacceptable for a $300 phone, nonetheless a $1K phone.
Hello, I have the same issue, on VoIP apps like WhatsApp as well. https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...rphone-loudness-clarity-t3746298#post78757253
Does anyone experience the same problem on custom ROM?

Same problem here, first on Note7, now on Note9. Disabling HD calling did not fix it for me.
any solution for it ? please post solution
I've discovered the issue is that the phone attempts to mute your microphone while the speaker is playing sounds. (If you're on the phone with someone they have background noise or are talking) and your phone's microphone attempts to lower the sensitivity so that the person whom you are speaking with doesn't hear an echo of themselves on their end. If they aren't making a sound then you can be heard normally. This is the downfall of my S9+ because the speaker and microphone are right beside each other.
