Will let others confirm but it seems to take Honor some time to release official firmware. We are still waiting on it for the L24.

How can I unlock the bootloader in the USA for the Mate SE (7xs)? I wanted to fastboot into twp temporarily to back everything up.
The Huawei website doesn't validate from US phone numbers?
Thanks.
n/m: Got thru the Huawei website and got my bootloader unlock code.

Where do you even get twrp for this phone?

Honor firmware releases for the US are slow. It’s annoying

I have been finding out the hard way with these honor phones. This mate se gonna be the third one. I bricked the honor 6x and 7x permanently. Bootloader locked stuck in fastboot. Trying to get rid of twrp to take on OTA updates. Can't update with twrp installed. I recommend rooting with magisk then using titanium for your back up untill you have official firmware in your hands.

Unofficial but I have seen with my eyes that twrp for honor 7x does work. The Mate SE is the Is the USA variant of the Honor 7x x64 with 4gb ram. The Honor 7x 32gb is the only honor 7x in the usa you can get. Has been confiremed By Huawei USA that Mate se will be getting both oreo and emui 8.0. That Is how I decided to go with the Mate SE

Where did you get confirmation about the Mate SE to receive Oreo? I sent Huawei support an email requesting that information, but have not received a response. I purchased the Mate SE believing it would get Oreo but not so sure now.

Will a custom ROM for Honor 7x work on the mate SE?

Thanks for everyone in this thread. I was considering getting a Mate SE since they are currently only $230 on Amazon, but one of my considerations for phones is always if there is adequate support for a phone, an easy root, and at least a few roms on XDA for it. I see that this phone has none of these. So, looks like I might have to spend an extra $200 to get a Mi Mix 2....

Agreed...It's a little frustrating that we don't have access to the system images. I think I posed this before, but never got a response. How is Huawei in general with releasing the system images? Eventually? Never?

I rooted mine in less than 10 minutes.
It's a new device with an Oreo update coming soon so developers are most likely going to wait for that.
If you're in the U.S. have fun with the MiMix 2 seeing as though not all of the U.S. LTE bands are operational.

Hello I just the Mate SE and I am trying to figure out how to get my bootloader unlock code but https://www.emui.com/en/plugin/unlock/index doesn't seem to be up??
Also when I try making my Huawei account United States isn't listed as a country and thus do not get my verification text message when registering.

You can follow this tutorial : desinerd[dot]co[dot]in/how-to-huawei-mate-se-root-twrp-recovery/

After I had my device not booting, I managed to reinstall latest firmware for Huawei Mate SE BND-L34 Oreo 8.0.0 using the method described here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/how-to/manual-update-to-oreo-beta-emui-8-bnd-t3767044
but using my own Mate SE files which are uploaded here (with instructions) :
https://mega.nz/#!jNJH3ZDB!QOrVkBPH2vaRsWURvbxbWHPvwESj4KcaoTkM2e9zpaA
Instructions :
Pre-requisite :
- Unlocked Bootloader for Huawei Mate SE (follow this tutorial : http://www.desinerd.co.in/how-tohuawei-mate-se-bootloader-unlockwindowsmac-linux/)
- Installed TWRP (follow this tutorial : http://www.desinerd.co.in/how-to-huawei-mate-se-root-twrp-recovery/)
Steps :
- Download all the files and put them on your SDCard /sdcard in your Mate SE (credits to Eduardo Alonso)
update.zip
update_data_full_public.zip
update_full_BND-L34_hw_usa.zip
BND-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img
- Boot into TWRP and go to Advanced > Terminal
Now we do the method (credits to olddroid)
- Type in these commands:
dd if=/external_sd/BND-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery
dd if=/external_sd/BND-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery2
- If those went well type these as next:
echo --update_package=/sdcard/update.zip > /cache/recovery/command
echo --update_package=/sdcard/update_data_full_public.zip >> /cache/recovery/command
echo --update_package=/sdcard/update_full_BND-L34_hw_usa.zip >> /cache/recovery/command
(Those Arrows (>) and lines (-) are important! Keep them as in command given!)
- If those went well aswell type:
reboot recovery

Would you mind making the instructions seperate from the 2.4 gb download. That way anyone wanting or needing the process but there own files to be used, dont need to download the whole thing.
Plus the linked guide has nougat based no-check recovery, so was your restore done from a messed up oreo install, or prior to the update, meaning you were on nougat when doing this restore?

You are right, I edited post to have instructions.
That is true that my device was on Nougat when I performed these steps but does the no-check recovery works only on nougat based ?
I thought this was independant.

No , Oreo has different recovery
Oreo has the kernel and ramdisk as two different images. Both for boot and recovery.

People who are using this version confirm it.
Note: B122 doesn't have VoLTE. VoLTE is introduced at B130 update.
I'm on b122. What are the changes in b132? Thanks a lot!

This update should enable VoLTE, update security patches and improve dual-screen.

Yes, we need to wait a response. i will tell you how to debrand it when the chinese girl answer me
Also, very low headphone volume, 3,5mm output. Developers only think in how loud the music is today and they apply a volume lock on ALL variants. They dont think some records are quieter .

Thanks !!! I'm at 4 now. Still some hesitation.
I got my phone from Amazon.de and the hardware version is the same, so I could probably update.
However, I have unlocked Bootloader. Probably why the update does not show in the update app. It will be the first time to update like this. Does it affect bootloader lock status? It will remove root but that can be reapplied later.

[Download] G5 Plus March Security Update for Retail Channels

Hey everyone,
You can download the March security update for G5 Plus (Retail channel only) from here
Side-load it through ADB.
(Note: This has been tested on Indian retail variant. It may/may not work on other retail variants - proceed at your own risk)
New build number is NPNS25.137-92-8
My RETIN device hasn't received the OTA yet. Is it rolling out now?

You may edit the title to something like "G5 Plus March Security Updates for Indian Retail Devices" as some users still don't know that it's a different firmware than for reteu/retus devices (those are ending on 93) and flashing this one could cause problems or at least take the opportunity to receive future OTA's.
Just a hint, no insinuation in any way, it's great that people like you share their firmware.

I don't see any problem with that, since it's a retail variant and there's no radio (carrier) dependency. Since all Moto G5 Plus retail variants are identical (except for no. of SIMs), there shouldn't any issue generally.
Can we just install it through TWRP ?
Bcoz i had hard bricked my moto g5 plus and use albus blank flash and i got like Moto z play bootloader and finally now its running by losing voLTE and Google pixel experience with 3g ...
So i am just wondering if i can flash it through twrp and then i get moto g5 plus boot loader back then i again flash a latest version firmware...
Please help me
thanks in advance <3

If you take a look here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
you'll see retail variants ending on 92 (+something) and on 83/93(+something). Both are retail firmwares and I think you can flash a 92 on a european or us device but as you change into the retin channel you won't receive regular OTA anymore. Motorola/Lenovo makes it hard to differ between the firmwares and I will try to find a stable source for that. I'm from Germany and I'm rooted so I don't take OTA's at the moment but friends of mine have received the march security patch and they are on a build called NPNS25.137-93-4.

No, after using albus blank flash you can't flash regular firmware anymore. You have to use a TWRP flashable version or any custom ROM.

Yes, you´re right, I mixed it up. 93-4 was for january I believe? But it´s 93-x for RETUS/RETEU, not 92-x., that´s what I wanted to point out.

I think i read somewhere in other threads that we can do it once oreo roles out .... so that we can pull away the new boot loader and push it to the hard bricked phones then we can normally get back the Moto g5 plus with official Oreo with OEM locking...
is this true ?

Possible. Like with the missing volte/4g or IMEI 0 problem some people hope that Oreo can fix it.
We will only be sure when/if Oreo is available.

So after releasing Oreo for moto g5 plus .. how long it might take to fix our phones using this method ? do we have to wait for deodexed oreo ROM or just directly install boot loader into phone and flash and push Oreo using fastboot method ?

I can't tell you. I'm not sure if Lenovo comes out with Oreo at all, it's been a long time of waiting now.
I think you are able to try it at once when you can grab a firmware with bl but maybe you'll have to wait until TWRP flashable builds are available or the kernel sources are released and some clever Dev can pick the needed files.
You can just wait and hope.

Flashing zip should work, as usual, but I'm not sure. Side load through ADB works for sure.

8x Max (ARE-AL00)

Hi, there is no separate thread for Chinese variant of 8x max phone. Not even for any variant of 8x max. So i am starting this thread for this device. Everyone is requested to contribute towards this nice device.
And HCU-Client reads bootloader's unlock code of Honor 8x Max aka Huawei Enjoy Max / Y Max / ChangXiang Max
which is great !
But (Huawei) Honor 8x are JSN Johnson device with Kirin.
And Honor 8x Max, Huawei Enjoy Max / Y Max / ChangXiang Max are, I think, ARE/ARS Ares device with Qualcomm ;
So for this a whole new device section would be needed.
I have successfully unlocked bootloader and flashed twrp and rooted my 8x max ARE-AL00. But problem is twrp is not fully functional. Can someone provide me working twrp. Link at 4pda is not working
I have same twrp it doesn't back up rooms and I've tried to decyrpt twrp but no go I e tried to contact shao the dev of this twrp version to see if he could update to the newest version but he still hasn't got back to me

Huawei ChangXiang Max ARS-AL00
Hi, I bought Huawei ChangXiang Max ARS-AL00 that has Chinese ROM and EMUI 9 bans Google service completely. Is there a way to change it to global ROM?
I realized that outside China, they are selling the equivalent Huawei Enjoy Max / Y Max. I assume that should be one.
Many thanks

How the hell did you unlock the bootloader???
Did you pay someone to do it¿?
hcu-client / hde-tool / sigkill windows app all support reading bootloader's unlock code on Ares Snapdragon devices (ARE- and ARS-).
That shall cost like 4usd to do it yourself.

Yes, there should be as chinese sellers do it since release.
I guess you could
unlock bootloader,
install a *not yet public as not yet tested* emui8 Snapdragon's nocheck-recovery (kirin's won't work),
rebrand with oeminfo executable binary ran from adb shell (oeminfo binary not reported yet working on Snapdragon),
then do a perfect HWOTA flash with new firmware and same region.
This is dangerous as no one reported trying it (yet).
Once with your own oeminfo rebranded to new region not chinese, that will raise up oem-frp lock as locked. Which would be a problem if you end up with a new stock recovery not of the region of your new device's oeminfo.

Hcu-client.com 's app works to read* bootloader unlock code on Honor8xMax and its variants ARS- and ARE-.
It will cost you 4€ to use it yourself to do that.
*(In fact, hcu-client does not read orignal code, but use an exploit to set-up a new custom one.)

It does.
At least when used on emui8 firmware.
If you tryed it when on emui8 : You just did it wrong.
If tou tryed when on emui9 : Rollback to emui8 with hisuite before using hcu-client.

Motorola One Action Android 10 Update

Motorola One Action has received an Android 10 update for Brazil and India. As far as Indian Variant goes, the update package name is QSB30.62-17. Although I am enrolled in MNF, but my device is rooted and hence I can't get hold of the OTA (the usual Package Verification Error Message). If any Indian user could capture the OTA URL, kindly share it here. Thanks
Android 10 update is here!
Just now I received the Android 10 Update for my Moto One Action :crying: . Have a look at the below screenshots. Surprisingly, the size is only 743MB. I tried capturing the OTA URL, but couldn't find anything worthwhile. However, one line caught my attention, i.e.
ab_delta-Blur_Version.29.291.1-30.11.18.troika.retail.en.US.zip
I seriously don't know why its jump across the border over to the US as my device accepts RETIN (INDIA) firmwares. Anyways, who cares Talking about the version, it is QSB30.62-17. By the wat, it's taking way too long in getting downloaded. One hour has passed but only 50% complete. I will update the post with screenshots on successfull completion. :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: I Have received the Update with my device having an Unlocked Bootloader. So no need to relock your bootloader for the OTA. Just make sure to unroot your device (obviously )
I"m waiting for the update un Chile, also hoping More device development, come from a redmi note 3 pro

Here's the adb logcat of my device that I managed to capture as soon as I received the Android 10 OTA. See if you could find anything, like the OTA URL or something of that kind. I tried searching the file using the ota and zip keyword, but nothing fruitful came out. The logcat is in txt format but exceeds the maximum file size upload limit. So I have compressed it.
I found (googeling) an download link for the ota, i dont know yet if it works.

in case someone did not know that there is a magisk module that cuts the "notch" in the development options and this covered some notifications in Android 9,
In Android 10 this does not happen anymore, I comment in case someone has installed the module and remove it only for notifications

Here is what needs to be done.
I I have attached two files here. One is the fastboot commands file and the other one is of the extracted stock firmware. Here is what needs to be done,
Extract the ROM and keep it ready.
Then have a look at my 'fastboot commands' file.
Compare my fastboot commands file with the extracted ROM's servicefile.xml.
Make the modifications accordingly to the fastboot commands, if and where needed.
Note: Extract the ROM inside the Platform-Tools folder only. Then open cmd or PowerShell from within that folder and execute fastboot commands.
