I'm currently on AEX5.3 (got the link from a parallel thread) with open gapps micro and it is quite stand for me- no random reboots, wakelocks draining battery, decent battery consumption, no freezing or anything like that.
In other words- quite stable (with mentioned/known bugs, of course (.
GPS works fine but takes about 1 minute for initial location, afterwards everything is fine

Flashed this build, and compared to innfinite4ever's ununofficial build, this one is faster to lock in GPS position (at least for me), notification LED finally works again! Haven't tested mic on speakerphone, though.
There is a problem, however, the battery drains fast. I'm talking about every 10 minutes it looses about 3% charge and the phone gets really hot real fast. Since Google did us a "favor" and severely limited our capabilities to analyze battery stats, it only shows System as the top battery consumer, but I can't see more details about it. I'll be returning to the old build I was until the next update here or something, because even though there are less bugs, I really cannot bear with this much of a drain.

It will not get fixed if you get battery stats from betterbatterystats or a different battery analyze app

I'm a bit confused by what you meant, or maybe I said something ambiguous? I am not using any battery stats app, only checking the stats that are provided on Settings, nothing more. I stopped using these different battery apps because they all seemed very inconsistent, GSam would report an app draining while BetterBatteryStats didn't even have the app and would instead report that a sensor in my phone was draining... I could use battery historian by Google, but for whatever reason I cannot set it up anymore.
And to be clear, I did make a clean flash, as I always do now, and restore apps with TitaniumBackup. I just have no idea what was draining, and logcats didn't report any error or fatal occurrence that was meaningful to this all.

I had fair share of issues restoring with titanium. It would be worth trying restoring from play store to check on battery drain issue.
Try deleting com.android.nfc or the folder named NFC in system» apps.
Also flashed this kernel and wipe cache and use Glassfish scrip using EKM
And check the battery drain. It will be less..

Guys anybody tested if mic is working in speakerphone?
Overall nice rom! Battery quite good if you remove com.android.nfc. Mic in speaker phone not working for me. Video recording not working and its already stated in OP. GPS is working.

Yes, read the OP for more info.
Decided to give this build a try and removed the NFC apk from it, it took a day and a half to settle down and my battery drain was back to "normal".
My only concern is that video recording doesn't work at all for me, not even with Footej (that usually works), while innfinite4ever's build has it working fine. I'll await the next build and hope for it to be fixed.
And again, thanks for keeping the device alive!
I'm using aex 5.2 from another thread created by infinite4ever video recorder working fine for me. Only bug I've noticed Sofar is mic not working on speaker.
Is this the same rom (developer) or its entirely another project bit confused after seeing some comments regarding camera issues

Strangely GPS is working for me & it's pretty accurate. I tried with f.lux, gmaps & here WeGo apps. Perhaps it only works on AOSP based roms. Maybe @Ivan_Meler can take a look on the aosp stuff.

Gps is not working.
Lineage is aosp based.
Gps can't work on other oreo roms either because kernel has issues with it, bluetooth/wifi/mobile locations can be accurate install gps tester from play store and well you will see that indeed gps doesnt work, and please dont create confusion at forums before you really can prove something ill just get tons of spam in pm and on telegram because of this
Edit: actually gps drivers are completely disabled so i don't know how it could possibly work

Sorry about the spam. It was not my intention. I trust & belive in what you're saying, but the truth is that gps works for me in the apps that I mentioned before, that's why I said "strangely".

Position was left cached in device storage, and well Non gps positioning is also getting really precise i was surprised by that too, But this is only real way to know
just want to report my battery usage
this is the first ever aosp rom that give me this great SoT! even on touchwiz rom i barely get 3hrs in this devices (ps: my battery is dying i always cahrge while gaming)
so thank you sir :good: hope we can see spectrum suport for the kernel in the future to help me get more fps in games

1.dual 4g doesn't work (vodafone & jio)
2.double tap to wake up
3.auto-rotate issue (ex : open settings and then wait few seconds without any action (landscape mode) automatically struck auto-rotate , one more example if you play video player few seconds automatically struck auto-rotate(landscape mode) .turn off and on it works again but will face same problem again and again

Apart from auto rotation and battery drainage problem, the ROM is super slick.
Edit: RAM management is not as good as Resurrection Remix ROM or Stock ROM.

Little ghost touch is there, but less thn other rom

kernel log?
Adapter etc is fine, checked it. I also faced this issue with RR ROM, had to revert to stock ROM because of it. Anytime I use my phone (basic activities, browsing, customizing wallpaper, display etc, no heavy apps like games or video streaming) the charging rate is quite slow.
I have to flash nfc.zip as well?

Of course they are... All fixes have been merged to the device tree...
General feedback about the ROM is excellent. Silk smooth, plus all the new stuff from v5.8. Memory usage is very nice too, users are reporting up to 400mb free ram.
Default camera is Google Camera, fully working (HDR, etc).

This lag does not happen to me, opened very fast, both the Google Camera and the OneplusCamera I'm using, everything very fast and fluid, the only thing that is not so smooth is gesture navigation, not very good, fling mode is the best option.
Just got back my device, I was using LOS 14.1, yesterday updated TWRP and flashed this ROM, everythings is working, feels smooth, sometimes FB app lags, but I don't use it too much, not using it for heavy use, just whatsapp, messenger, youtube and music player.

Ok, I'll try the rom, because in 5.6 and 5.7 the transitions had many lags
WhatsApp and Instagram video doesn't seem to work for me at least.
Edit: Camera also doesn't work in Instagram but works in WhatsApp.

Can confirm that, safety net check fails (response invalid) ,also with 3rd party apps. This did not happen on all AEX versions before (and I'm using it since 3.8).
Beside this the ROM is working very good, fluid and as fast as it's possible for a Titan.
Battery seems to be better too, camera is fully working. I had some problems with substratum (Swift black theme) in combination with the inbuilt colour engine but it's working if you don't use the system UI overlay of swift black.
I'm not using WhatsApp or Instagram so I can't say anything about camera issues.

I'm using whatsapp, camera is working. I don't use instragram, can't say about that. And battery seems good for this old Titan.
But better try this ROM, every user has different settings and apps.

Everything works correctly. However, there is still a lot of AospEx functionality.
The only thing I had to do was edit the updater-script file and delete the phone version check.
Originally, the installer stopped on this line reporting an error.

Is it possible to make this for the LG G6 us997?
testing aex 6.0...
came from v5.8 with full clean flash (internal storage as well)...
noticed things so far:
- less extension options (i.e. can't set a clock position in status bar, can't add action to navbar buttons, can't change the battery icon, etc...)
- can't turn off the low battery led blinking
- no themes as in 5.8...
- brightness slider almost doesn't change anything until around 75% and above...
- google camera app is crap (it saves pictures rotated and only in 1:1 aspect ratio no matter if i choose 4:3 or 16:9 ratio) - Bacon camera works ok... but i'd still prefer Snapdragon camera app if possible...
that's all for now and mainly cosmetic (didn't test calls and 4g yet) and i hope most of the things i've mentioned here are still in the development since this is an Alpha release

Prebuilt apps
I have built-in the following apps to the device tree, and therefore any ROM based on my trees:
BuildProp Editor => if people want to test setting debug.hwui.renderer=opengl to eliminate "tearing"
GCam => Best camera app available, with Night Vision. Needs GAPPS to function
LogcatExtreme => For collecting logcats. Needs root
QuickCircle View => For those with a case that has a circular opening
Velis Autobrightness => to manage auto-brightness. This is a global Pie bug. Nothing I can do.

and refuses to install
twrp 3.1.0.0
im on the h815 intl.

I am about to release LOS 16.0 soon as well so consider using the issues_pie repo for that .
For me it eases things so maybe for you too bc it could help having 1 single place to track all the issues
Btw: I would recommend to link to my latest pie(!) TWRP preview release.

Maybe you should have checked your TWRP version.. Update to at least the latest official TWRP...

a few times it got quiet after a few reboots, but it works fine.
does it contain the stock gallery or is it based on google camera?
Is there any special requirement to flash this rom on my h815 UsU phone?

Thanks for this man, I had been wait for this a lot, I've installed and works fine but I don't know why when I lock mi phone all my applications it's closed including my music player. Can you help me with that. I use black player as my music player.
I flashed mine but:
touching doens't work
it turn off if unplugged from power source

i'm having issue with bluetooth disconnecting when paired to mi band 2, sometimes bluetooth turns off/on automatically when connected to miband and after that unable to connect to band, kernel adiutor shows that g4 have 4 big cores and 2 small cores, kinda weird, can't reproduce this bug and give logcat because i restored 7.0

Did for a test a format system, coming from Bootlegged and all is working perfectly. ?
Too laggy and it crashes too often
Rom works fine. I have problem with Magisk. After install any app like Viper or Vanced YouTube Player I don't see them on the app list. Magisk root works perfectly. I have no idea what is wrong.
Edit: OK. I downloaded last Uninstaller and latest Magisk, reinstalled and it's OK. Everything works fine.

try Ambient Display Gesture v2 (search it in Magisk module download), when you tap or hand wave the proximity sensor the screen will wake
@aoleary Much thanks for your work releasing this Rom (and to everyone else who had a hand getting the G4 to this point). I wanted to ask you if it was possible to port the SmartPixels feature from your previous AtomicOS rom to Pie; I feel like it's tremendously helpful for the end of the day (either to limit the brightness of using the phone during the night, or while out at night unsure the next time you're going to find a charger)
As for the Rom itself, I'm currently using this on my daily driver and I've come across an Issue that I'll just mention; but can completely live without. I understand without Logs this isn't helpful, but I see this issue has already been reported and closed in the Pie Issue Github Tracker.
Camera Force Closes --> This is a problem with the PlayStore updating the Camera App. Disabling it (removing the updates) and Enabling it again fixes the camera.
Again, thank you for another wonderful Rom, I look forward to your future threads.
