There is no quick launch option in the camera settings in the galaxy s9 - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

I have seen the galaxy s9 camera has an option of a quick launch by double clicking the power button, and this can be enabled by the activating the quick launch option in the camera settings, however this option is no where available in my phone, is this an option disabled for the indian made phones ?
Regards,
Glenn

For me, it's the 5th option under Settings > Advanced Features > "Quick launch Camera"
But I guess the Indian version does not have that? here's some options from the S8, which might be similar: https://www.sammobile.com/news/indi...8-users-quick-launch-camera-always-on-display
A few other ideas to consider:
My favorite it use a custom launcher (such as Nova), and I set it so that if I swipe up anywhere on the home screens, it launches the camera.
Additionally, I did see an app that could remap the bixby hard key on the left to be any action or application you wanted, such as the Camera. I forget the name of this app, but I'm sure you can find it if you search for remapping the bixby button.

Thanks,
But could not find it under advanced features too
But with the thread you shared, im able to do it with the home button, it helps

Removing In-App menu button after navbar mod (AOKP)

Is there a way to get the system to not add the menu button to various google programs? I'm running AOKP and I've got the menu button added to the navbar. Consequently, I want to get rid of it in the apps. Also, I would like the menu to pop up at the bottom and not the top. I would think this would be highly desired. What am I missing?
the menu inside the applications is built into the app itself. you wont be able to remove it unless you decompile the APK's and remove the menu yourself
I thought that the program used a signal from the system to determine if it has a menu button and uses that to determine the need for it. Does the Galaxy S III still get this button in apps like the play store and gmail? I don't know, but I would think not.
So from my research, it seems that the "overflow menu", as it is now called, only appears in the "action bar" when there is no menu button present on the device. For legacy devices that run ICS, it seems that android will detect that a menu button is present and not show the "overflow menu".
So basically, I'm wondering how I can trick the Galaxy Nexus into thinking there is a menu button present. This really should be an option for current roms as lots of people add the menu button to the navbar.
You have to hide the navbar to get what you want. When I use LMT and disable the navbar, the action button in all apps no longer appears. There is some api that tells the action bar menu to appear or not just like you want.

What is LMT?
From my searchings, that seems to be what I've found. there is a methods called "hasPermanentMenuKey()" to return true this requires that there not be a navbar. Unfortunately, this kinda kills things as the whole point of hiding it was because I had a menu key in my navbar.
Thanks so much for the helpful reply!!!

[Q] ''Swipe up ring'' google search/ quickmemo

With the G2 you could swipe up from the button and acces quickmemo.
There's only a google search option with the G4, any way to change this?

Not that I've found. there are two other good options:
1) Add QuickMemo+ to your quick shortcuts in the notification panel
2) add a shortcut to your lock screen
This should work.
Settings > Apps > (Menu) Reset Default Apps
Clear whichever one it is, and redo the action and you should get an option to reassign + some other options
Mine gives me the option to call out a tasker task or greenify screen off+lock which is what I do so i can turn the screenoff even from a full screen app without using the button on the back.

Shortcut on the lock screen

Hello.
Is there some way to change the shortcuts on the lock screen? I would to change Voice Assistent shortcut.
Thanks a lot

Step 1: Head to Settings menu and then choose Apps.
Step 2: Press the gear icon in the top right-hand corner and choose Default Apps > Assist & voice input.
Step 3: Tap the Assist option and choose None from the pop-up menu.
The current selection is Google, which means that the Google Now shortcut on the lock screen will be replaced. And now for that caveat: Changing this setting also disables long-pressing the Home button to open Google Now on Tap.
If you change your mind, you can always switch the Assist app back to Google.
Thanks you very very much.
I solve the problem.
Happy new week

Button remap - Long Press "back" = kill, Single Tab "app switch" = open menu

Button remap - Long Press "back" = kill, Single Tab "app switch" = open menu
Hey, i have always configured my phones with a specific button behavior, which i am currently missing on the OP3 with nougat.
Single press "back" = back
Long press back = kill currently used app
single press "recent apps" = open menu
Long press "recent apps" = recent apps
thats the way i'd like to configure my buttons, which isnt possible by the default oxygenOS options. under marshmallow it worked great with gravitybox. but since nougat and the missing xposed i couldnt find anything that allows me this button remaps.
i knows it needs modded system settings file for this, but maybe someone knows a little mod package or something.
PS.: i'm on freedomOS and i'd like to stay on it. i know other ROMs might have this remap options by default.
I also missed this a LOT when coming to Nougat and used flars' button mapper?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton&hl=en
The thing is that if you use tasker with accesibility then they conflict and BM kills tasker. If you don't then it is perfect for what you need.
Hope this helps-

[APP] Button Mapper: Remap Bixby single, double and long press for FREE

NOTE: On a rooted device, this is the fastest, most reliable and problem-free method for remapping Bixby (no limitations, no setup)
Button Mapper allows you to remap any action you want to physical or capacitive hardware buttons. This includes volume buttons, Bixby button, and many buttons on game controllers and other hardware you attach to your phone.
You can map shortcuts, apps or actions to single press, double tap and long press for hardware buttons.
The Bixby button on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ is supported as of version 0.62
Bixby remapping of single, double and long press is completely free. No ads. Pro version not required.
Does not require root. If your device is rooted, you will have many more options (essentially unlimited). Also with root, Bixby remapping does not involve any hacks, it is implemented at the input level (native).
This does require an adb command to remap Bixby on unrooted devices. It's a one-time setup. I do not use the method used by other apps because it leads to a poor user experience (i.e. swiping right causes actions to occur, get stuck in a loop)
This app is continually updated with new features and improvements.
Download on XDA Labs:
https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/flar2.homebutton
.
Big update update on the way soon.
You can remap all Bixby stuff for free with this app, and it has the most options of any remapping app.
I'm looking for volunteers to translate. Go to this link if interested

Version 0.66 is now released. It will roll out slowly on the Play Store, if you want it now, get it from XDA Labs
https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/flar2.homebutton

Changes:
Pocket detection (pro)
Toggle auto brightness
Toggle Wifi hotspot (Android 7 and lower)
Toggle mobile data (root)
Clear notifications
Compatibility with Android P
Option to use speaker with Pressy, MiKey, etc
Global bypass option
More long press duration options
Receive incoming phone calls with home button (Samsung)
Add Spanish
Update translations
UI improvements
Optional lock method that allows fingerprint unlocking
Fix AOD crash with screenshot action (Samsung)
Optimizations and bugfixes

To click the shutter? You can do that with select/enter action, but it requires root.

This app doesn't work either.

It's the only way to detect Bixby since Samsung bypassed the usual Linux input system..
thanks for this app. works great!
Hi
Thanks for this great app.
I use pro version.
Does it possible to remap back, home and recent soft keys on S9 ?

I don't think so. It's definitely not possible using the methods used by this app.
So...people don't like free stuff? Should I make you guys pay for double press and long press?
Nice job with this app man. Very easy to turn on flashlight and get to google assistant. I'll be unlocking the pro version in a little bit.
It also appears that, even though I am not rooted, the bixby button works to turn on my flashlight while I'm on the AOD so that is SUPER helpful.
UPDATE!!
Version 0.74 has lots of new goodies. It's rolling out slowly on the Play Store, if you want it now you can download from XDA Labs:
https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/flar2.homebutton
-Menu action is now available without root
-Pause and resume remapping from notification, quick settings or public intents that can be used with Tasker or other automation apps
-If you use the notification, you can now change the priority
-Option to turn on screen with screen off actions, so if you launch an app with the screen off, the screen will automatically turn on (requires Pro version)
-Zello PTT toggle and hold actions (requires Pro version). This allows you to either set a button to toggle send, or hold the volume up or down button to talk
-Copy and paste actions
-Option to use VOICE_ASSIST for assistant
-Restore autobrightness when using brightness actions
-Fix shortcut bug
-Many other bugfixes and improvements
-Update translations
Here are the intents to pause and resume remapping. The first is a toggle, the other two explicitly pause or resume remapping. Use whichever best fit your needs.
flar2.homebutton.TOGGLE_REMAPPING
flar2.homebutton.PAUSE_REMAPPING
flar2.homebutton.RESUME_REMAPPING

Screenshot sound toggle doesn't work for me on Galaxy S9+
Can we also have an option to disable bixby single tap when the device is locked or in always on display mode?

Screenshot sound toggle only works for my screenshot implementation. It can't be controlled on the native screenshot (I assume you're rooted)

Sorry didn't get your point. How can choose your screenshot implementation? There is only one screenshot action available in the list.

If rooted, it uses the built-in screenshot. If not rooted, it uses my own custom screenshot because I can't access the built in one. The built-in is preferable to the custom screenshot, but there is no control over the sound in the built in screenshot.
