I couldn't manage to make decryption work with the current TWRP base, mostly because of some proprietary binaries. So no source for now.
Can you test if Oeminfo shows in the backup screen?

nope it does not appear, and by the way is it normal that it will ask the password every time you boot into twrp?

Are you trying a full backup?
Or just /data?
For some reason /vendor doesn't want to mount for me. (Might be because of recovery_vendor? not sure)

First i trying backup data, system and vendor and its failed then data and system and its ok but i have many error - system, device or resource busy and vendor, device or resource busy.

Yes, just what I thought.
Running RROS from the View 10 forum.
So I switched to the official twrp and all works fine now! Only needed it for Magisk.

[Official]TWRP 3.1.1-0 for MATE 8
Modified to work with Nougat firmwareTeam Win Recovery Project 3.1.1-0
WHAT IS TWRP?
Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery for Android devices.
It allows you to back up and restore your data, flash custom ROMs to your device, repair broken file systems, and root your device.
WHY IS IT MODIFIED?
Like you know, the official TWRP here doesn't work on Huawei Mate 8 device, it's why I modified in order it works on our device. This one only works with Nougat firmware.
SUPPORTED DEVICES
Mate 8
DOWNLOAD
twrp-3.1.1-0-next.img - MD5: 82808bdc7ff1452ea15081f033c4f826
What's new in 3.1.1-0 (TeamWin - TWRP):
Backups will now include adopted storage keys (Dees_Troy)
Fixed an adb restore issue (bigbiff)
Fixed rebooting when no OS is present (Dees_Troy)
Fixed line wrapping in the GUI terminal (_that)
Updated TWRP source code to AOSP 7.1.2 (Dees_Troy)Updated TWRP source code to AOSP 7.1.2
My changes:
Code:
TWRP 3.1.1-0
* modified to work on Nougat
* kernel updated from eRecovery (B581 firmware) for proper loop support
* native_package.xml has been added to device specific version from eRecovery (B581 firmware)
* Replaced system folder by the one of eRecovery (B581 firmware)
KNOWN ISSUES
Doesn't work with Marshmallow
Doesn't enable to correctly read the decrypted data - displaying 0 MB when you push the "Install" button - Only with decrypted data

I can't say anything about this TWRP yet, I haven't tested it, so I do not know what it is worth ... but it is official.
I tried but it doesn't work for me with Nougat.

Maybe it's only support for HTC? The twrp we have now (3.0.2) also good enough but only need to improve on the restore data part. As the path restore data broken but of course restore using twrp 3.0.3. Only problem with twrp 3.0.3 doesn't work well with data encryption.
Edit : Yeah. I tried it too. Doesn't work. Maybe it's for MM.

Unfortunately.
Well, already a good new for us, if I can say, the TWRP 3.1.0-0 doesn't work also for other models, like the Huawei Honor 8. It's not really a good info but at least, we aren't alone with this issue. So we can hope to have a fix nextly or later.
I have flashed TWRP 3.1.0.0 from the honor 8 thread. I managed to boot to recovery. The only thing that not working is data partition not able to format. Got an error unable to find crypto file or something. I know it's for honor 8 but just trying my luck

Seriously, this one? if it's like the official, I perhaps know the cause, I hope.
Edit:
I decompiled it. This is what I think is the cause, in the recovery.fstab file.
Code:
/data f2fs /dev/block/dm-0
Look into the frd-twrp by example and you'll see fully different. Already, your data isn't a f2fs partition.

I have tried to change data partition to f2fs using twrp 3.0.2 then flashed twrp 3.1.0 and format data but it doesn't work too. Maybe you are right recovery.fstab need to modify?

But now, after i took the checkmark for backing up the system-image away this messeges dissapeared and no other red notes till the backup finished.
After this backup i include the system-image and ,surprise, no red notes anymore.
It looks like everything runs well now, i´m only wondering why this notes appears in the first place.

I think these messages are shown because of the settings of my unoffical TWRP that are stored in .twrp settings file.
Just delete that file and reboot twrp. Apply your settings again and you should be done.

Hey @blankaf, @TheStrix,
glad you made an official TWRP.
As you have integrated an prebuild kernel I would be pleased to know how you compiled it?
What options/modules have you used? Whats the content of your manifest file(s)?
Is there an possibility to rework your build (and make little modifications)?
Again questions, questions, questions - thanks for your support!

TWRP Password
Hallo.
I have official TWRP and Omni ROM. Before i flash last version i format data and wipe every thing.
When i boot to TWRP, need to enter password for Decrypt Data, if i have password for phone.
If i do not have password for phone, then no need for password in TWRP.
Is this normal?

[Official] [Recovery] TWRP for daisy

Hi all,
We've worked with TeamWin to get an official release of TWRP for daisy released, and here it is! We're sponsoring continued development of TWRP for daisy and other devices, so reach out to me if you have any questions.
I have to thank Dees_Troy & TeamWin for putting in the effort to make this available for us - donate here to support them directly.
So, without further ado, here's the download link. Here's a link to the source.
Please make sure you're on the factory image. If you aren't, the instructions to do that are here. You will lose your data and you'll have to set up your phone again.
1. Enable developer options (your bootloader should still be unlocked)
2. adb reboot bootloader
3. fastboot boot twrp-daisy-3.2.3-0.img
4. Hit "Cancel" if you're prompted for a decrypt password
5. adb push ./twrp-installer-daisy-3.2.3-0.zip /sdcard
6. Run the install in TWRP to permanently install TWRP across both slots
7. Reboot (you can reboot afterwards to TWRP to verify it is there)
Thanks all - and feel free to post your experiences, questions, comments, and concerns.

Hey, that worked! And decryption works after a reboot. But now it's boot looping into TWRP? Did I lose all my data or is there a way to make it boot back into what was installed?
If I have to reinstall it's fine, but I'd like to know

That doesn't sound good. Did you factory reset after installing twrp? If so you will have lost data but the ROM should still be there.

I didn't. I was checking the file system and all my files are there. The ROM is the one who's gone lol.
Can I flash a GSI and have it working again?
Edit: Hooking up USB and I can access storage. Copying stuff over just in case.

I've been able to install TWRP before a GSI with relative ease but I couldn't get it to boot properly (phh-treble). I've also been able to install TWRP after a GSI and it works just fine. What GSI are you using? I might be able to test it out pretty quickly.

I was using stock Android, just with Magisk. Didn't factory reset because I wasn't using a GSI and thought it wouldn't be a problem.
I'm asking if now I can just flash a GSI and have the phone up and running again. It seems storage and everything is there and working fine.

Data encrypted after miui pie update(9.3.28)

I just updated to global beta 9.3.28 and my twrp is now showing data encrypted and it asks for the password (my lockscreen password doesnt work), internal storage is showing 0 Mb & I'm unable to flash anything. Somehow i rooted my device with magisk patch boot image method and twrp started flasing things, i flashed "no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0" & its not doing anything as well. So i took the bold step and wiped cache, dalvik, data & internal storage then twrp worked correctly w/o asking for any password but after flashing the rom again(flashed lazyflasher too) and rebooting to twrp gets me to the same problem of data encryption!!!....what am i doing wrong here??...please help
Solution- change recovery to one which supports pie(like to orangefox).
Did you tried to flash another TWRP that supports miui pie?
Try orangefox recovery.

It happened to me.
When redwolf recovery ask you to enter passwords just Cancel it.
Goto wipe. Slide to wipe.
Goto reboot. Reboot recovery.
unfortunately This solution cause my phone need to fatory reset before reboot
The same happened to me, after flashing weekly (thru my redwolf recovery) 9.3.28 my storage has encrypted.
My question is the following,
Do I have possibility of decyripting storage w/o data factory reset ?
and,
Shall I loose my data if I implement the below method explained below web page ?
http://www.androwide.com/2017/08/unable-to-mount-storage-twrp-internal-storage-0mb.html
Or is there any method (with any type recovery) to decrypt storage w/o loosing data in storage ?
updated TWRP by GuaiYiHu TWRP-20190330-3.2.3.0-whyred
changelog
Update prebuilt kernel for pie firmware decryption

The solution is to flash a recovery with support of pie decryption, i dont know about redwolf but orangefox recovery definitely works for me & it will for you as well, just flash it & all your problems will be solved.
I was on RN 5 Pro Oreo with Orange Fox R9.0.1
Got Pie update today n updated OTA.
But when i boot into Orange Fox recovery Data encrypted, asking for password.
It is not accepting screen lock PIN or password.
Even tried to boot recovery by removing screen lock n finger print data , still no use.
Any solution for this without formatting my data?
Thank You in advance.

I don't if I messed up installing orange but, at the beginning it showed:
"
<Heading> Mount
Unmodified System Partition
TWRP can leave your system partition unmodified to make it easier for you to take official updates.
TWRP will be unable to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP and will not offer to root your device.
<in red> Zip Installations or ADB operations may still modify the system partition. </in red>
Swipe to allow modifications
"
I swiped, installed orange zip from my sdcard, then it rebooted to my lock screen instead of rebooting into recovery mode.

My problem solved simply by installing OF 9.0.2 over 9.0.1 . Rooted with latest Magisk, enabled cam2api by editing build props. GCam working good.

General Found TWRP 3.5.0 for Redmi K40 (POCO F3)

So I just found a TWRP 3.5.0 file (I don't know who made this) from QQ ydss (China). Yeah I actually doing a leaking this file for you guys so you could have a try if you want to
Download here (GDrive)
Translated from Chinese:
The model structure is the factory (OEM) Android 11's structure. Partition structure is the latest virtual-A/B and doesn't have recovery partition, this is a special point.
Support latest Magisk Root.
This is the first beta build, please use the command "fastboot boot xxxx.img" to start using the recovery.
Support Dynamic Partition Plugins, auto-decrypt is not supported, you need to format Data to access to Data manually.
Sorry for bad English!
P/S: I will not response as your device is bricked, do it at YOUR OWN RISK
Link is working now, I forgot to enable public sharing, sorry guys
now not unlock phone still wait unlock to test
waiting for the 7-day restriction xiaomi bleat lifting
twrp boots up but this IT does not support decryption yet. You can't install anything yet
Chinese K40 users have done twrp3.5. They can swipe the temporary image of twrp into the mobile phone, but they can't decrypt it. I try to format the data and use the computer's ADB push / sacrd/ xx.zip It will prompt that the mobile phone is out of space
And does the version work?

It just the interface test for sure, and flash is pretty useless right now until there would be a ROM support it
And that's could be a long while that we have to waiting for big-hands devs

This recovery working properly, I got the phone on March 4 and unlocked it on March 13 and used this to flash into magisk.
It can't unlock the data partition, but you can use otg to flash zip.
