i did, this messages showed up again.
But now, after i took the checkmark for backing up the system-image away this messeges dissapeared and no other red notes till the backup finished.
After this backup i include the system-image and ,surprise, no red notes anymore.
It looks like everything runs well now, i´m only wondering why this notes appears in the first place.

I think these messages are shown because of the settings of my unoffical TWRP that are stored in .twrp settings file.
Just delete that file and reboot twrp. Apply your settings again and you should be done.

Hey @blankaf, @TheStrix,
glad you made an official TWRP.
As you have integrated an prebuild kernel I would be pleased to know how you compiled it?
What options/modules have you used? Whats the content of your manifest file(s)?
Is there an possibility to rework your build (and make little modifications)?
Again questions, questions, questions - thanks for your support!

Therefore i aksked for the complete manaifest content. You can't build TWRP with only the device repo as single information.
Inaddition a precompiled kernel was used and i like to reproduce how it was build.

Hi!
Maybe someone can help me, i moved from raupe's twrp to official one. I tried to flash global dev MIUI from xiaomi.eu, but always goes in bootlop. i tried with both twrp but nothing...what can do?

TWRP Password
Hallo.
I have official TWRP and Omni ROM. Before i flash last version i format data and wipe every thing.
When i boot to TWRP, need to enter password for Decrypt Data, if i have password for phone.
If i do not have password for phone, then no need for password in TWRP.
Is this normal?

Hi! What an excellent work bro! But can You add please the 'Preload' partition to the format menu? I really want to format this partition because there are a lot of unuseful apks and stuffs.
Hi.
I have problems in restoring my backuped device to another one (both [email protected]).
What I did:
* I used TWRP in recovery mode and backuped whole device (boot, data, efs, etc.) on source device to ext-sd
* I changed name of backup directory from source device (serial number) to correct name of target device
* I used TWRP in recovery mode on target device and restored many combinations of data, boot, system, modem
The results are always the same:
The target device stucks in booting cm (cm-face).
What must I do?
Is here a problem of TWRP or CM or of me? I hope the latter.
Edit:
Solution!
It was my mistake. Now it worked. Yet I took system, data, cache - nothing more.
This really is very nice.
Truly the cat's pajamas.

Why in the latest official recovery 3.0.2.0 my phone getting so terribly HOT?
I usually used unofficial 2.8.3.0 MultiroomTWRP - when i boot in it, my device is cold (untill i start flashing something), however in the official recovery - the phone is booting with the high temperature of 45-48 degree, then it rise his temperature to 49-50 degree and stopps at that value. I do nothing to rise the temperature: it boots into recovery and lies on the table, that's all what i do, and the phone is warming up himself. Is it normal?
PS: sry for my bag english, i almostly forget it.

You have to check, read more details in forum, but if I'm not wrong your i537 have locked bootloader and this let things more difficult.
The instructions here usually are for i9295, that we can flash without problems.
Read all S4 ACTIVE sections, all threads for the last 2 years, maybe you can find specific instructions to your i537.
Just a note: always prefer other alternatives to kingroot, it is known to spy mobiles.

You have a locked bootloader, it is not possible to flash a custom recovery on the i537. If you want to be able to use the ROMs in the development section sell your i537 and buy an i9295.

After flashing this recovery, it boots right back into stock recovery. Any idea what i'm doing wrong? Do I have to disable dm-verity or something?

You can keep dm-verity. After flashing I'd suggest leaving fastboot and booting straight into recovery via fingerpress.
Flashing SuperSU or Magisk or similar should ensure survival of TWRP if it's being overwritten.
Works great but I found :
1. Reboot to TWRP is so slowly... Why ?
2. System won't boot into TWRP when wipe everything and reboot to TWRP. I need to turn phone off and then press volume up + power button to enter TWRP again.
Is there any chance to fix those ?

1. I've noticed the slow speed too, I'm 100% sure why it's happening but I have some ideas.
2. The same ideas will hopefully address this issue.
It was a quick and dirty port since there was no native TWRP, I haven't had the time yet to improve it but I'll build an updated release based on 8.2.5.0 sometime soon and look to making it official.

I've had no issues with USB-OTB, with any standard formatted flash drive (FAT32, NTFS, EXT4).
This is also the first I've heard of anyone having such an issue.
Does the OTG drive mount successfully in whatever ROM you're using? Is it attached prior to booting to TWRP? Can you provide additional information.
TWRP doesn't like remounting the same USB multiple times - i.e if you unplug the USB while in TWRP, and then reattach the same drive it won't remount it.
Sorry to feedback lately because I was too busy in past 2-week.
Well, new TWRP is working well.
The only one problem: If I want to upgrade firmware, TWRP will be replaced by MIUI stock recovery after flashing new version of MIUI ROM.
It's pretty annoying because I need to get into fastboot mode then flash TWRP. After that, entering TWRP and flash lineage OS ...
Is it possible to be fixed in next coming version ?
Kris
May I know how to flash the TWRP rom?
I'm on MIUI.eu ROM, can I flash full global MIUI original ROM with TWRP without bricking the phone ??
Before on Redmi note 3 u can't flash original ROM without bricking the phone, u needed special TWRP (zxc version) or modify the ROM

[Recovery] TWRP 3.1.1 (unofficial)

I was looking for a TWRP for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. I've found a chinese board where a user called YouLinw compiled TWRP for us. According to him and the users there (Google Translator) it seems to work. Can't test it by now, because my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 isn't shipped right now. It was really tricky to register in this chinese board and then to download the file. You can download it yourself in the board and for all other users I made a mirror with no registration.
There's now a new english TWRP from Xiaomi.eu.
I don't take any responsibilities for this file. If you break or damage your phone, it's your fault!
The recovery is in chinese - but you shuold be able to use it with screenshots in your language.

Great find! Any idea what version of SuperSU can be used to root The device ?
In this chinese board there's something written like, that SuperSu 2.82 is suitable for the Mix 2 (without guarantee).

unable to mount /system after nadroid backup
TWRP installed fine and experienced no issues until I made a full Nandroid backup. After the backup I have issues flashing because the device is unable to mount /system . busy or in use error.
So now I wait until official TWRP.
If you are having any twrp issues just reboot into twrp and the issues will be gone. Try again!

For the life of me I cannot get this TWRP to do anything. My phone came with Global 8.5 Stable. I confirmed my bootloader is unlocked. I flashed the TWRP and booted it, it boots fine but trying to backup anything I get Failed to unmount "/system" (Device or resource busy). I tried to reboot back into TWRP still same problem, I tried to reflash TWRP through both fastboot and TWRP image installer. I downloaded the EU rom and tried to flash it and it also failed to flash. OEM unlock is checked, USB debugging is on. TWRP gets over written with the Mi Mix recovery whenever I boot back into system, it doesn't ask me if I want to modify anything when it first boots. Why is this giving me so much trouble I've never encountered this problem with TWRP. Any Advice?.

There is still no official TWRP available. I always do a full wipe factory reset and manual wipe everything before flashing anything. I also get the errors, but I've never tried to restore a backup because I usually just do clean installs each time because the ROMs available right now aren't stable enough for daily use.
The trick for EU rom is complete wipe than boot back into TWRP and try flashing. You will get 2 errors but will install fine. You can install USB drive or transfer EU rom through mtp via TWRP.
I'll do it like @allrockedout
It seems this TWRP is more beta than stable :-/
Also check the "Mount" button and uncheck the option to open all partitions readonly.
Then reboot TWRP. Last but not least before performing any flash operations (ROM or Magisk/SU-Stuff) check all partitions as marked - then do your flash work
i also miss some more partition that are available to other devices like EFS.
Did anyone know about another TWRP version or devs that are working on one?

This one is fully working! [emoji6]It has decryption support, so you can backup, restore your data, mtp support, etc.
Has anyone tested it already? Looking forward to installing it

I couldn't manage to make decryption work with the current TWRP base, mostly because of some proprietary binaries. So no source for now.
Can you test if Oeminfo shows in the backup screen?

nope it does not appear, and by the way is it normal that it will ask the password every time you boot into twrp?

Are you trying a full backup?
Or just /data?
For some reason /vendor doesn't want to mount for me. (Might be because of recovery_vendor? not sure)
First i trying backup data, system and vendor and its failed then data and system and its ok but i have many error - system, device or resource busy and vendor, device or resource busy.

Yes, just what I thought.
Running RROS from the View 10 forum.
So I switched to the official twrp and all works fine now! Only needed it for Magisk.

Appreciate the new recoveries. Looking forward to your custom rom, bro! Thanks for your hard work :highfive:.
Edit:
Flashed OrangeFox-R8.0-nitrogen.zip and it just goes to fastboot. Booted phone as well and then reboot from there and power + volume up takes me to fastboot. I tested three new downloads of the orange recovery and all took me to fastboot instead of recovery. Flashed back to TWRP 3.2.3.0 using twrp app without a problem and booted into that recovery. Then, I flashed Pitch Black recovery without any problems. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Ok, downloading now. Will report back, thanks.
Edit: .img didn't flash - "flash failed." I used twrp app - same way I flashed pitch black recovery image when previous orange fox zip would remain stuck on fastboot screen.

No, downloaded and used the latest .img above the zip in androidfilehost. I'll test the zip now.
Edit:
Just flashed the zip using pitch black recovery. Both the image and the zip file have the same problem. They both, like your first version, reboot to fastboot instead of recovery. I just flashed back to pitch black without issue using twrp app. Maybe check the script in case fastboot reboot line is in there by mistake?

What are the improvements/changes? Last few didn't boot for mi max 3.
Edit: I flashed it, and it didn't work just like all the previous versions. Leads straight to fastboot screen.
Edit2: @DarthJabba9 fixed the build. Latest version, which he will post shortly works great. This is definitely a nicer/cleaner recovery. I highly recommend it! Thanks, buddy!

But backup is only 2GB, I now it has more data to backup. It is also asking for Encryption password on start. How could I find this Password?

Maybe you want to explain, step by step, from the beginning to the end, how you got to this point?
It's a hardware generated key(FDE), not a password per say so you can't get it. The recovery needs more work to be able to support it and decrypt device automatically at boot just like the rom does...
Something like this: https://github.com/TeamWin/android_...mmit/05137578dc6d382c159c3abc8c2f181f7490d6e5

It does it already. And I doubt that regressing to Marshmallow code will improve anything.
