Loved it! Thanks a ton! Quick question though, are the sound effects supposed to get recorded in the video as well? I can hear them but it doesn't get recorded. Try the X-Wing sticker to see what I'm talking about. Otherwise it's perfect, thanks again!

very nice work[emoji3][emoji106]

My camera screen is going blank, it worked first time then whenever i open it is just black screen same happened after i cleared cache and data.

I guess not. I have other gcam version but all pictures I take are in f1.5

Can someone confirm whether the file is fine ?
As the rar file after download says bad archive

@lofas33 can you make it able to utilize S9's dual aperture? If you can, that would be really appreciated, and also slow motion mode and 4k video recording is broken, if you mind fixing that, that would also be appreciated

s8+ works ?

portrait mode ?

It's working for me on an A520F with S9+ ROM Port, with both video and photo modes. No portrait mode though. It gets magenta tinted when I take the photo. It's a really nice feature.

Google camera port with Hdr+ (abandoned)

This is kinda work in progress port of Gcam with hdr+ for arm devices. it's based on google camera version 4.2.035.141213305-arm.
it needs camera api 2 enabled. you can enable it via flashing the zip I've attached or add below line into build.prop.
Code:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Stock rom is preferred, but it should work on all roms as long as above requirement is met.

Please let me know if auto/touch focus works or not. happy testing :good:

Requires TWRP for flashing zip. or root for manually editing build.prop
So the moto g5s doesn't have the api enabled by default? The file can't be downloaded BTW.

Camera stopped working right on start
Nice! Works here.
But, I got some problems at my first test - Google Camera apk from OP link;
- Back camera resolution: in the app, the res are 12.1 (16:9) mpx, in face of the real 16mpx (4:3)
- Slow mode crashes every time
- Panorama seems don't run as well
Anyway, I feel the focus are, now, amazing! I had a Moto G5 - Cedric in the begginin of 2017. Now, I got the Montana, but, always the same problem: Strange focus. In macro, i mean.

Good thanks, but there's one issue:
as soon as camera api 2 is enabled Whatsapp, OpenCamera, Moto Kamera report "media format is not supported" at recording video, guess there's a codec missing then.
No mather if stock or linageOS.

put the package name of apps that are not working well with camera2api, like this:

Thanks for give your important time for moto g5s device
How I can make rollback after zip? The original camera has stopped working, after several shots others cams.

Google Camera with Portrait Mode

Hi all,
I've located probably the best Google Camera for our devices so far. The main thing being working portrait mode on the rear camera only. This was found on the S9 forums.
What is working?
- Regular photos (obviously) - quality appears to be pretty decent and would probably be better for anyone running a Lineage/Treble ROM
- Slow motion
- Panorama
- Photo Sphere
- Portrait mode - Rear camera only
- Front camera - takes photos but no portrait mode
What isn't working?
- HDR/HDR+
- Portrait mode on front camera
If I've missed any features out I apologise as I haven't had time to test extensively.
In regards to key settings I'm using, they are as follows:
B-S-G Mod Setting:
Model = Nexus 5 (only one that works)
HDR+ parameters = Not applicable without working HDR
Portrait mode on all models = on
SmartBurst enabled = off (will not work due to required pixel or Nexus6P config)
Camera resolution = not tested anything beyond default settings
Video resolution = Can record 4k video but not in the 30fps setting (video is 4K res but very stuttery)
Developer settings I have switched on:
camera.use_photos (I use Google Photos as default)
camera.diet_burst (can't remember what this does but I had it active on my Samsung phone)
camera.faceboxes
camcorder.fastswitch
camera:gcam_enabled
cameraprogress_overlay
camera.enable_vesper
camera.raisr
Most of the above is default. I will play around with more settings when I get the time.
In the meantime here is the file for download: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zLMlPYUe8o3MV0DbtH176KsjjDeCe5OP
If anyone is able to develop this further to optimise it for our devices that would incredible. I will report back with anything new that I find.

Must be to do with camera module then rather than chipset specifically.
One thing I have found when using various Google Camera mods. If you're rooted you can add the following line to the end of your build.prop: persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
This activates the camera api2. Restart your device and install a Google Camera port. There's a huge list of them here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
Backup your build.props before you make any edits! I will not be responsible for anything that goes wrong.

Hey can you share a link please?

[MOD] Arnova8G2's gcam mod 6.* for Pixel

For Android 9 only.
Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xiWoktC_T_fnTOBeSNENWGwLQd2WJNMp/view?usp=drivesdk
If you try to install Arnova's version, it will fail due to conflicts with the original GCam. This is just a cloned app that can be installed on Pixel/Pixel XL.
All credit goes to @Arnova8G2. All bugs/functionality from that app are also present here.
Link to the original thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77855579&postcount=2426
Arnova's version has some of the pixel 3 functionality enabled for other phones (like portrait mode and focal length changing after taking a portrait mode photo). If you install the non moded version, you don't get portrait mode or h256 encoding for videos (and more).
None of the v6 based moded gcam apps currently available work on Pixel due to their manifest being the same as the original "play store" version of gcam which comes preinstalled on pixels.
This forces an update of the original app, update which fails as it recognizes that the moded version is not really a qualified upper version of the original one
Cannot work on my Pixel XL running Stock pie
Thanks for doing this!
Even though I can install it, it says the following:
"Clones are device-locked
This helps to prevent abuse and redistribution of cloned apps.
Please use App Cloner to recreate the clone on this target device Clones created with commercial use business license may still be installed on different target devices."
And closes after accepting the dialog
Getting the same error when installing "Clones are device-locked
This helps to prevent abuse and redistribution of cloned apps.
Please use App Cloner to recreate the clone on this target device Clones created with commercial use business license may still be installed on different target devices."
I used App Cloner to clone the app myself and it worked!
However the app heated my phone quite a bit, and the picture viewer was quite janky.
Hope they improve the port with the next version!
I'm on Pixel XL btw

I follow your guide, it works great. But the quality is very low compared to the original camera.
I'm using several different versions of GCam6 but all have something that doesn't work...
I'm using a version that @cstark27 posted here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77870655&postcount=2586
He says it's version that doesn't contain all the mods made for Oneplus 6. Almost everything works on this version. Portrait back camera doen't work (only front camera), tried night mode didn't see any difference (even the shutter and iso of pictures where the same with or without night mode). Full zoom works and camera is a bit jerky because it has continues auto focus (when you tap an object) activated.
I'm also using the latest versions of @Arnova8G2. This one compared with the @cstark27 version, portrait works fine with back camera but slow motion crashed the app.
I just hope that some dev could make a Camera mod like the one from NX Camera. A port directed to all Pixels with all the good stuff from Pixel 3.

gcam on realme 3

hi, sorry for my stupid question.
i just want to know, can i install gcam mod on realme 3?
thank for the answer
I've heard that this version from Arnova8G2 works:
- MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.3d_TlnNeun_2.apk
You need to load this config: Realme_3_Config.xml (guide: how to load config files).
I don't have this phone, so I don't know if it comes with the camera2 api enabled. If it's disabled, you have to enable it first. I'm sure you can find a guide by searching online.
You can also find more apks from Arnova8G2 on this page and follow his thread here on XDA.

Warm thanks for your post!
I was testing 1.3c version on my new phone, but it was fail taking photo.
Only panorama and video were operating.
But, today I installed the configs file and now camera is fully operating.
After first HDR tests and quick analysis stock camera render better (Chroma boost disabled, not needed!).
(I use a standardized position from my seat to a sunny open door in the middle of the room. )
I already tested panorama in outside situation and it is GREAT, much better than stock.
Not tested night and video.
Overall comment: This phone is a top gun. No need to spend million.
Just waiting for usable root.

In my realme 3. I have also installed realme 3 config.xml configuration file in gcam. After that the gcam is working full fine with all the functions. But after the latest update of March 2019 Android security patch and fix of some minor issues. The video mode of google camera is not working. When I open the video tab. Gcam automatically closes. When I do repeat. It also do the same every time.
I've also tried to install various apks of gcam version 6 but all those are show the exact same problem when open the video mode. Please anyone suggest me the fix of this issue ???. I will be very thankful to u guys.
Regards.

Bro i also have the same problem with my realme 3. After the update, the video mode on gcam doesn't working. If u got the solution. Also help me.
Good news, I have found a working config for the latest update. You first have to download the apk from
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-fu24/#apk873
This is the apk called "fu24: MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova_TlnNeun_4lens_V1.3.030119.0645-02j.apk". Then use these configs I attached.
Night mode, portrait mode, video , slowmo are working.

Bro Thanks for the post. But the problem still doesn't solve. Every thing is working fine but the video is in 720p. But if we switch into 1080p, the gcam stops and automatically closes like the previous one. If u have this problem, plz anybody fine the solution or any modified config.xml file for this problem.??
Thanks.
Does our phone supports video recording with 60fps? If yes what app?

Yes 60 fps is recording in this config. I don't judge the result.

Thanks for this configuration !
Everything is working in good day lights
But, both back and front camera's performance is very poor( like a 2mp camera) in LOW Lights and ARTIFICIAL Lights.
Kindly fix this issue !
Try this apk

Thanks harischeong! Your Google camera is working good in daylight but it takes pictures only in 8mp.
I have already found the best one which clicks pictures with full 13 mp on both front and back camera. (Use Nexus 6p on both cameras for better photos and You can change some settings as per your understanding)
Here we go : https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.6.190614.0200.apk

thanks bro... will test later, when i received my device..
Thanks for the link.
We are gratefull to the developers.
Just I tried it with video on rear camera.
I am not happy with it.
- The image stabilization doesn't working on it.
- There are issues barrel at super wide lens, the default xiaomi camera has a better algorithm (probably) that corrects the barel issue that normally have these lenses.

If you try any other build, please post it. Thanks for your feedback
Sure!
There is an upload video on youtube about this .apk on Mi 11 Lite.
The version is 8.1.101.345618084 the same like us.
The compared photos seems the good work of GCam.
If you see at the end (07:55) the video image stabilization of GCam is wrong.
I have tried the following, but I have some crashed all the time:
GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.5.apk
PXv8.1_GCam-v1.2.apk
Big bugs in Gcam
Any update?
Hello at all.
Anyone use gcam 8.2 with specific settings for macros and 64mpx?
Thank you!

Why use the 8.3? Its in beta so a lot of stuff doesnt work. Use MGC 8.1 the latest stable version. You can also use a config to make everything work including slow-mo.

Thanx 4 the advice - I didn't really search yet, but this helped to find a good version!
I just installed and it looks like everything except slow-mo works even without a config.
Which config do you use?

Think you should be able to load this into the app. I got it from the BSG gcam telegram. If you dont like 16:9 you can just change it from the dropdown settings menu quickly.
Thanks a lot for the config.xml.
Actually I'm not able to load it inside the app. I made a folder GCam/Configs8 and put the xml inside - however when I double tap near the cam shutter button, the import dialog doesn't show?
Maybe it's the Gcam version, I downloaded the one from the first post here.

Use THIS link to download the newest version. Download any of the 3 first apk. If it helps I usually use ENG apk but snap also works fine. It should have an option to add custom xml files in the settings. Just point it to the folder where its located (can be anywhere on the phone).
Great, that was the solution.
I'm very happy to have a fully functional Gcam on my phone now.
Thanks again!
TrCam here. Works fine
