[HELP] Failed to BIND MID can't Unlock the BOOTLOADER - Xiaomi Mi 5s Questions & Answers

Hey everyone as i mention above have using the device abot a week more, since i get this devices i also used another Xiaomi devices no need to mentions all of them here, so basically it's not a new things for me unlocking, applying, and executes the UBL. day one i use the existing MID to loggin in the micloud/miaccount on my 5s (i've two old existing MID)both of them has permissions to UBL already.
Activating developer mode through setting, and heads to that options, activating debug, oem unlock allowance, and last step binding the MID in miunlock status, day one after many tries its still failed to bind with tost messages said "failed to verify, wait a minute or two, please try again", ok i leaves that for a next day, assuming that i might to hurry doing that. Next two days still gimme the same error, trying to find some post and thread to solve and try some of tutorial to fix that.
signing out the MID, and factory reset the devices setting up as new without signing MID on the 1s settup, log in in MID (Two MID) through chrome and cleaning all devices connected and leaves it empty (not even one devices left connected to that MID), entering MID on the setting app on my devices (try using email, phone number, just the ID) and activating the developer mode and trying to bind the MID in miunlock status , Crap its still gimme the same error (trying winth cellular/wifi).
Okay some told me to create fresh and new account with new number and applying unlock done 24X1 i receved messages granted to unlock. reseting device to factory setting, signing a new and fresh MID and heads to miunlock status trying to BIND the MID again its failed with the same error message.
I do have flashing the devices through testpoint EDL mode to make sure that i'm on official Miui not a fake one, (try both stable, dev, CN and Global) still no luck.. Please can somene here help and share me another guides, thanks

Please ask this directly in the English Miui forum. There you can also check if you still have the unlock permission.
Sometimes their servers are overloaded and it can take some days until they work fine again.

Did it, no attentions there, contacting mi global service through email 4times without solutions yet, and now seems they ignoring my email ni respons at all, F"#£K!!!

I don't know if you need to get a fresh unlock permission for your phone. If you do, then this can take 2 weeks after you applied for it.

[TROUBLESHOOTING] Bootloader Unlock Fail: (bootloader) [KillSwitch] Last Byte is 0X01

if you're reading this thread, you're likely tearing out your hair in apt frustration because you're just trying to unlock your bootloader and its a no-go. If you're coming from a One M7 or M8, just be aware that HTC's switched up the game since then. Also, everything mentioned below is indirectly applicable to HTC 10 owners as well.
Writing up this thread as that was me, and I scoured pretty much every link pulled from variations of google keyword searches; and as I was successful in finally unlocking the damn thing, here is my braindump:
[in no particular order], and YMMV, much of this is a compilation of things that saved other people experiencing such errors, every rock unturned is a rock unturned.
There's a new "download mode"---the ol' white backgrounded fastboot that you used to know and love, that's sidelined, you must run fastboot on the black backgrounded Download mode format.
you CANNOT use the standard Google/Android SDK's fastboot. I know, wtf. you MUST use HTC's fastboot (the one they provide on HTCdev.com; note that their's is missing an ADB, you can pluck the ADB portion from the standard Android SDK).
If you are experiencing a fail, I recommend immediately wiping the whole device (reset all data), and then starting anew: from there, be sure to: --get Developer, and check the: allow OEM unlocking + allow USB debugging boxes. also, while you're in settings, might as well: increase the screen off time, put 'no lock screen', allow unknown sources installations, etc. then after all that's set, then try and run the fastboot.
for whatever reason, the Gmail web client might not work happily with your unlock_code.bin that you get sent---and/or you're getting weird HTCdev login errors even though you put in the right password---eff that noise; start anew: create a new account, don't use a Gmail email (I used a live.com email to get the unlock_code.bin that ended up being the golden goose egg). yeah, for reasons unknown, there's some RNGmagic mojo crap going on here, so if you're experiencing errors, there's really nothing to lose by going new routes.
don't use Chrome to go to the HTCdev website; I used Edge (no deliberate Microsoft plug or anything here, fyi)
the HTCdev website won't accept your fastboot paste of oem unlocking info if its not the right number of characters, I tested this, so that's not the problem if you thought it was; I recommend opening up a Notepad and just copying and pasting it there and then double-checking that, and then pasting it onto the HTCdev site.
Dont mean to burst your bubble.. Thats all old news.

Unlock stuck at 50%, unknow error (-1)

Hello XDA Community,
I've trying now several weeks to unlock the bootloader of my Mi Mix 2. But I get always stuck with the 50% error msg "unknown error (-1)".
I'v read lots of articles, suggestions and forum entries but still no luck.
Mi Mix 2 with MIUI 10 Global (8.11.8)
- tested several fastboot drivers dates 2011,2013 and 2016
- tried on several virtual machines with Win7 and Win10
- tried on the "normal" pc with Windows10
- tested multiple Mi Unlock versions
- I do a "find device" each time before I try
- My phone MI account is the same account with which I applied for unlocking
- OEM Unlock & USB Debugging is enabled and my account added to MI unlock status
- tried resetting the device and start from fresh (about 2weeks ago)
The error seems always the same.
Was there anyone unlocking his bootloader sucuessfully with MIUI 10 ? As I run out of ideas.
Can anyone help please?
Did you use USB 3 or 2 port in computer? I had errors when flashing redmi 4 pro using usb 3 port and succeeded with USB 2. Maybe the same problem with mix 2. Worth trying.
Did you resolve the issue? I have the same problem. Now, instead of unknown error, it gives me a chineses error.

Make sure you use a chinese VPN (make a Hotspot of a phone and run VPN app). That will resolve chinese error
No, even with VPN, same error. Used VPN from PC and phone, nothing.
I think Xiaomi block the phone, even with a different account and SIM card, same error.
It's a shame, probably my last Xiaomi. How can I have the same error and couldn't unlock a phone that I payed?

Redmi Note 5 blocked

Hi, i'm a user from France.
After installing the last Android version proposed by Mi on the 7th of June 2019 my phone is now stucked on the black screen with the red mention " this miui version can't be installed on this device " - I made the choice to wipe all the data - after restarting nothing changed and I'm stucked to the same black screen.
First big loss. I didn't do any thing solo, I've just being installing the official update proposed by the company like I always do when notification comes. I don't do extra stuff that I have no knowledge about, I'm a regular user.
Now I'm trying to wipe the data through my computer using XiaomiFlash, however I'm getting this error alert : Flash antirbpass error.
What does it mean ? I have read about Google protection briefly on the internet but now it's getting really complicated for me to swim in these waters,
none of the solution worked for me, from the ADB thing to the CMD thing - I also downloaded a "dummy" file which I don't know how to use. After installing ADB I don't get any file of that name in my ":c" repertory and when typing the command "fastboot etc" in CMD it says that it's not recognized. I don't know what I'm doing and I don't know what to do, I don't have a car to get to the nearest phone repair shop and it's like i'm in an alien world with all the technical vocabulary in front of me when search the solution online.
All help would be really appreciated for an ignorant beginner like me.
1.Connect phone to PC, backup important data.
2.Reboot phone to bootloader(fastboot,Power+Volume Down).
Goto PC CMD
fastboot flash antirbpass dummy.img
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-0-whyred.img
3.Reboot to TWRP (Power+Volume UP).
Wipe DalvikCache, Cache, Data, Internalstorage, System, Vendor.
Install miui_HMNote5Global_V10.3.1.0.PEIMIXM_d4d2c9f2aa_9.0.zip.
Wipe Cache, Data and do Factory reset.
4.Reboot to system.
Just try abovementioned steps, good luck!
Thanks garyemail for your help.
I'm halfway done with this problem, but another thing came on the way which is :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-0-whyred.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (38924 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.937s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Flashing is not allowed in Lock State)

Apparently my phone is locked after being checked :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot oem device-info

(bootloader) Verity mode: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: false
(bootloader) Device critical unlocked: false

I know there is no way for unlocking it through "official" method by using whatever Xiaomi is throwing away, do you have a particular way to get that unlocked ?
I know Xiaomi and Google would scream out of hysteria by reading this post but I'm not trying to unlock my phone for the pure sake of adrenaline.
They putted out that Android Update, not me. It didn't work. Rather it blocked my phone.
Now that the only way to solve the problem is to unlock the phone, what do you know, they decide to put a lock on the phone that basically doesn't allow the user to officially and directly restore the phone.
What is wrong with these people ? Are we just supposed to throw the phone away and buy a new one whenever they are making an uncorrect move resulting in a broken phone ?
I learned now what I'm paying when adding a high price difference for an iPhone, I'm paying for avoiding all that torture which Google and Xiaomi together are dragging me into.
Buy a 1€ phone and spend 1000€ worth of time in searching the remedee in case of a problem. -> Android logic -> money saved at first look, whatever happen you are entirely on your own. A small rock hiding a mountain.
Buy a 1000€ phone and spend 1€ worth of time in searching for the remedee to the sickness. -> Apple logic -> expensive at first look, but client satisfaction guaranteed - time and energy saved.
First of all, you bought a non official phone, that mean you bought your phone out of your region. May your phone is from china and it supposed using china rom. But your phone a china version and using global rom but that not wrong, when that happen unlocked bloatloader is needed. the only problem is, when the global version installed, you or the guy that sold the phone to you, lock the boatloader so it seems look like a global phone version but actually its the china one and that forbidden by xiaomi itself, and they have announced a year ago on the miui forum. The only one solution is to unlock the bloatloader ones again. I hope you understand what i wrote and sorry for bad english

Hey thanks Wiguna for your help, greatly appreciated. I'm facing now a new and big problem. The "unlock" button on the Mi Flash Unlock is greyed, apparently it's because my phone being locked, but the only way to unlock my phone is through Mi Unlock and they are blocking me the access to unlock my phone. Do you have any way to unlock the phone through a non-xiaomi way ?
I don't know why they would prevent their users for unlocking their phone, is it this illegal ?

There is no "non-xiaomi way" you have to flash the chinese official rom with miflash and then unlock your phone, thats the only way.
btw you can try the "EDL-Method".
Thanks Gerr1 and thanks anyone else who helped. Really appreciated.

Redmi 6 Pro - Stuck at Fasboot (there are many details)

Greeting you. This device firstly was stuck at "Mi" logo where "Android..." was loading. I left it may be week. Then I could get to fastboot mode. However, now it`s not going out from it. I can't unlock bootloader because it says to me "go so miui settings-> sign in" and etc. I cant even turn this phone on. If I could, I wouldn't even need this things.
So Mi Flash tool either not works. Firstly it says "mismatching device and..". So I've deleted that line from flash_save data_.. - named bat file. It now gave me next error. "erase boot error". So I took and deleted this one too). To see what happens. It gave me next error - which is in next line and all around. What a system! So, any ideas where even I am?
Well you can't flash it with fastboot without bootloader unlocked. You could try to get to edl mode. And then you can it with miflash. But U need authorized account for this. I don't have one but there are some guys that offers help for some payment. But be careful cause they want money first. You will all the necessary files to be download like firmware, miflash... Team viewer installed. He will log on his authorized account and flash it. I've seen a method without 3rd person help. But it requires some payment as well. Just search for flash without authorized account. To get to edl you will have take the back cover off. There are 2 pins to shortcl circuit. You will find the instructions on internet. And I don't know if this will help in your case of course. Maybe motherboard is broken.
I remember that I left it for a long time. Then I was able to hard reset it (may be?). Thank you for response.

Redmi Note 8 locked, need help with unlocking/backup

Hello!
I need help regarding a Redmi Note 8 that no longer accepts the correct pattern and is locked.
I'm looking for a solution that would allow me to either unlock my phone without data loss, or make a backup of the phone's internal storage on an sd card/pc before hard resetting.
The device is not rooted and I don't have custom recovery installed. USB Debugging is on, but my laptop is not authorized.
With Adb, the device is detected but unauthorized. It seems to be detected normally in fastboot mode. I was able to get my laptop to detect it in recovery mode by clicking on "Connect with MIAssistant" while it was plugged in, but only in sideload mode. I also somehow managed to get into safe mode, but I used the stock screen lock, so unless there's something else that can be done in that mode, it doesn't seem useful in this situation.
I tried the actual MIAssistant software but it tells me to update my device before connecting. From what I found, this is because it doesn't even work with phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or above, so that seems to be a dead-end, unfortunately. Downloaded from here, updated to version 3.2.1.3111. If there's a newer version that could support my device, even an untranslated one, I would love to know, but I couldn't find a working one.
I had some ideas that could potentially solve my problem, but couldn't find a way to actually execute them, so here they are in case someone out there who knows more than me could help me with one of them.
1, Is there any way I could authorize my laptop for USB Debugging without being able to accept the prompt on screen?
2, Is there a way to make a backup of the internal storage of my phone in fastboot/sideload mode?
3, Is there a way to get adb to detect this device normally in recovery mode, instead of in sideload mode?
4, Is there a way to get my device into mtp/ptp mode instead of charging mode when connected to a PC without USB Debugging so I can copy my files?
5, Here's a thread I found that seems promising, although it's old. Could I somehow use this, or a similar method on Redmi Note 8? The Recovery Mode is much more limiting on this device, unfortunately, so I can't exactly follow this tutorial. Are there alternatives that can be done in adb fastboot/sideload mode, perhaps?
6, If I am forced to hard reset, is there any software out there that could recover at least some of the deleted data afterwards, or is everything lost in case of a reset?
I am open to new ideas not listed above, as well. I am not a very advanced user so I probably missed some things.
Thank you so much for any answer in advance!

Updated with extra info in case anyone else has any ideas.
Even if you can copy your files to PC, they are problably unusable because of encryption.
That is why you need that pattern
For security this is exactly what you want, if your phone is lost or stolen.

Do you mean that the reason it doesn't accept the correct pattern anymore is for security? I would have thought it would still accept the correct one, at least after several tries of the same thing. Being completely locked out even when you know the correct password is a little strange to me.
