Flip Cases with no Kickstand? Or Same size smartphones for cases? - Honor 9 Accessories

So, I've been looking around a lot of places but I can't seem to find a proper, decent Flip case that doesn't have that terrible, hand slipping kickstand behind. So if you guys know of either one that you find to be nice or at least if you know of a phone with the same size and button pattern so I can check eBay and crap for that (cause some websites like eBay forgot Honor 9 exists...)

Thanks.
IMHO i wouldnt buy a case just yet, unless its from ur service provider or from HTC itself.
in alot of cases and reports ive read they are using the Blackberry Curve cases with minimal NOTICEABLE modifications to make them Snap compatible, and well thats no bueno!
Talkie Tech Cases
I just got 2 cases from Talkie Tech and I can say they're made for the HTC Ozone. Definitely *not* a mod of another phone.
Price was $9.95(US) plus flat rate shipping ($4.95 I believe) and I got them in 2 days.
Very satisfied, they're a great product.

I just bought this one on Ebay-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400070510706&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:US:1123
I had a hard plastic case for about 2 weeks, took it off to pull battery and noticed pits from rocks/dirt that got under the case... Soft Skins = Win.
Had a silicone case for 3 weeks, easy to clean, no dirt, best buy.
I use the Ozone belt clip / holster available from VZW
Hard Plastic
I bought a hard plastic case, coated in rubber on the outside, for about $20 from verizon corp. store... It makes the phone a little easier to handle, without it I always felt I was going to drop it, def. a good choice for me, it snaps together well, and has a little pit where you need to insert the edge of a coin and pry it apart, not going to pull apart by accident. The thick design also protects the cam lens from scratches as well. I'd recommend something like this, by the way they even gave me my 22% work discount on the accessory, as well as on the monthly bill.

Will Ozone cases fit my Sprint Snap, or are there slight differences that wont allow snap cases to work?
Case Mate Barely There for Dash 3G
Here is one on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Case-Mate-Barel...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item19baaafcca
It comes in 5 colors, my choice is black.
This is the FINEST case for the Dash 3G, a little pricey but you get what you pay for. They go for about $17 on most websites. Form fitting case, protects the sides and corners and adds strength. Comes with a clear screen protector. Adds on a couple of millimeters to the size but you can find a leather case that will fit even with the Case Mate installed when you are on the go.
This case also removes easilly in case you want to change the battery or whatever.
I went quite a few cases before i found this one, and I love it. Forget about the cheap snap on cases they break, the expensive snap ons they wont come off without breaking, the aluminum cases block the signal, this is the case you want!
I´ve just buyed the black silicone case posted before, soon as I got it I´ll post some pics
I got 2 Ozone protective plastic/rubberized front case from handhelditems.com along with the mirror screen protector, along with fast USPS shipping - all for under $10 (USD)
The case fit together nicely & tightly, and made it nearly the same size as the classic Motorla Q series - all the factory slots, usb port, camera & side buttons are easily to use. It gives the phone the extra weight, touch & feel and even if it is dropped, should give it good amount of protection.
I then slide mine into one of those Motorola side pouch for extra margin of safety. At other things, I just put it in the pocket as it's so slim and away from keys, coins or items that can scratch.
I had the leather case with rotating belt clip from VZW for a while and that worked too, except the plastic over the screen sometimes do cause problem trying to read it outdoor, plus, dust gather underneath it.
I have a slightly used OEM Verizon Ozone holster if anybody wants to pony up $10.00 you can have it.

Cases

There is nearly only 3 types of cases out at the market.
First the hard plastic cases that are coming in 2 parts. There are the glossy ones and the trubberized ones in a wide variety of colors and styles at ebay or Amazon. The quality is OK but not perfect. What I like is the good protection in combination with the acceptable increase of size. The problem is that you nearly can't remove the front part of the case without breaking the very small bars fixing the case to the device. I like the rubberized ones most. They are looking more stable to me than the glossy ones. With the case it's more difficult to slide out the QWERTY keyboard. But it's acceptable. What I like very much is the protection of the on/off button and then loudness buttons. Because without the case I öfter press these keys withooany will.
Then there are the leather cases. There are horizontal and vertical ones. I tried to use the ones for the Samsung Galaxy S2 also, they fit. But of course not together with the hard plastic case together. For that I will try cases made for the HTC Sensation XL. I will share my experiences as soon as I get the cases.
The third category are cases that are blocking the hardware keyboard. That unacceptable for me. I tried rubber cases for the Samsung Galaxy S2 and it worked for one but the fitting is not not really good. The thickness of the device is quite different from most other smartphones.
Hope I could help a little bit and will share my upcoming experiences.
Thanks for checking out the cases, did they the leather/rubber ones block the camera at the back or did it have the correct position for the opening?
The leather ones I tried are for pulling out the device before use.
The rubber one I tried had a big camera hole on the back. But I forgot to check the other connector holes but if I remember correctly some cutting work has to be done. But this is possible with the right tools. Sharp knives and hole cutters for leather/paper.
Best thing is to try the case at a shop. Surely some fits better than others. But I think the Galaxy S2 category is the best you can get. The Galaxy Note ones could be also work, because it's taller but thinner.
The first category cases are made for the device and aren't blocking anything.
I wonder if anyone has tried the one-piece Speck cases yet (can't post links yet, but a Google search for "speck captivate glide" should bring up the page on Speck's site). They look good, but I'm curious if they restrict the sliding mechanism or block the keyboard at all.

Just wanted to share my review, got a hard rubberized case on Amazon from ezbuy123. It's a 2-piece, snap-on. In the past, I've used Otterbox on EVERYTHING, but since they dont have an i927 case out yet, I figured I'd take a chance. The build quality is probably a 3.5/5 - it's hard, it's plastic, it's rubberized, that all is true. The edges of the case around the keyboard area are already starting to get chewed up, and the rubberizing doesnt have any real texture to speak of, I feel like I'm going to drop it when I use it. On the plus side, it isnt a weird neon color, and it doesnt add much bulk or weight to the phone.... All in all, I'd be pressed to give it 4/5 overall, it will definitely be replaced with an Otterbox if they ever decide to make a case for the i927.
Speck Sureslider Case
So I just received the Sureslider case today. I bought it for 24 dollars (from versiomobile before they charged 35 ).
Here's my review on it:
It's a one piece piece that has a hard plastic back with polycarbonate. On the front, it's made up of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). The TPE gives the case a lip from the screen of the phone. It still slides when you put it on its face but not by much. Only the top part actually clips onto the phone. The back plate just kinda sticks to the phone.. somewhat. There's basically no restriction when you're sliding it, it feels like it's not even there. Regarding the top keys of the qwerty keyboard, it might've moved a nanometer, but not to significant to affect your typing.
Honestly, I don't think the price of $35 is worth it. I'd say it'd be more fair around 13 dollars. It also comes with a one-year warranty, so maybe that's where the high price came from?
The Sureslider case is technically a "one-piece" but when I got it, somehow the connection between the bottom and top part became loose and the top part came out. Needless to say, i thought it was going to be an easy fix. It wasn't . You can't just "slide" it into one piece since there's a hook and a little clip at the bottom to provide stability. After I managed to get the piece together, I went through the packaging, and there was this small instruction slip. It said "If the case becomes separated by mistake, align the two pieces and fit back together."
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I got the rubberized texture case from ebay (shop4phree*). 5 bucks included shipping. Just to get something on the phone quick before I scractched it. I have to say for being so cheap it has help up surprisingly well. I was going to go for a higher end case at a later time but it's now going on 2 months and I haven't felt the need to switch. The only drawbacks I can see is it interferes with the smoothness of the slide out keyboard (requires a little more finger power to push it up) and the extra bulk it adds makes your top row of keys a little tight when typing(especially with big fingers).Ive dropped my phone a couple of times and it has held intact.
Im a cheap bastard so my $5 case works great for me.
Amzer cases
Well i managed to snap the feelers on my first case (the black rubberized one), so I've moved on to an Amzer case from Amazon. It's a 2-piece, snap-together advertised as "one piece". The build quality is probably a 3/5 - it's hard, it's plastic, it's rubberized on the back half, but the front half is clear hard-poly that looks awful (definitely not at all like what the pic on Amazon makes it look). It doesnt add much bulk or weight to the phone, but it is slightly bulkier than the previous case I reviewed. Hopefully Otterbox will come up with a case for the i927 soon, I'm quickly tiring of these cases...
L4T
http://www.daydeal.com/home.php?cat=6439
Haven't tried any of them but their stuff is good.
Body Glove Captivate Glide
I just received the Body Glove two-piece case for the Glide. It's $30 from AT&T, but I got it from All4Cellular for less (it's also on Amazon for even cheaper, which is a bit annoying as it was out of stock when I last looked there). It's pricey, but highly reviewed on AT&T's site.
It looks high-quality (none of that gummy rubber sort of stuff) and fits snugly. A bit too snugly, actually, as it was fairly difficult to get on and (according to other owners) nigh impossible to get off. On the plus side, that means it's not going to just pop off in your pocket.
The case fully covers the back of the phone (except for holes for the camera, flash, microphone, speaker, and buttons), and on the front, it covers the bezel. It doesn't interfere with the sliding at all, though the front cover does stick out enough to potentially cause problems with the top row of physical keyboard keys. That said, the keyboard side of the front cover has a little cutout at the bottom that may alleviate that problem a bit. I haven't noticed any major difficulties typing so far.
As with any two-piece case, there's a gap between the pieces where the phone slides, so it's not going to protect from anything getting between the phone halves. Also, it only comes in one color--a metallic blue sort of look--so if that's not your thing, you're out of luck.
I'd give it four out of five stars, knocking off a star for the difficulty in getting it off, though I'd recommend it for the build quality.
Does anyone know of a otterbox case from another phone that would fit this one for protection? (commuter or defender)
And what about silicone cases? Soft ones I mean..
There's a Case Mate Barely There case now available for the Glide, you can find it on Amazon. Did anyone try it?
Mom is with ATT so she picked the Captivate Glide cuz I have Epic. LoL Basically, she also want a slide-out keyboard.
I ordered this for her on eBay.
http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=64678
One problem, the sellers posted different quality. Some say hard plastic and some say rubberized. I went with a seller that said rubberized with good reviews. $7 with free shipping. I'm waiting on that to arrive and see how it feels
Just a question, since I'm not a native english speaker:
what does 'rubberized' mean? Does the term refer to a hard case with soft grip or to a flexible silicone-like case that you can even bend and it keeps the shape?
Thanks

I got the same one from AT&T.
I agree with your comments. This case is much better quality than the no-name clear ones I've seen elsewhere. It is a pain to install / remove, but I like it tight, lol. I've had cases for other phones where it comes off easy, and they become a pain in the @ss.
They are the most expensive I've seen, but worth the price if it saves your phone from just one concrete ground fall.

Video Review: Aluminum Bumper Case Review

Hey fellas,
Got my hands on affordable (but well made!) aluminum bumper style case for the Galaxy S3. This particular model came from Tmart but you can find similar ones on eBay, in all sorts of colors. It's a two piece case that fits nice and snug around your S3. It WILL bubble up some screenshields, which is unfortunate. All the ports and the cutouts are spot on, which is impressive for such an affordably priced case. Overall, while it doesn't offer a lot of protection, if you're looking for a bumper case - this is a good option!

Why keep throwing that word "affordable" out and not say what you paid for it? I have this very case since August ordering it straight from the manufacturer. I could find no dealer in the US. Plus, there were many knockoffs, especially on Ebay. Don't get me wrong, I love my TrioBump, I'm just annoyed at how so many post while leaving out details!
EDIT: Well, I watched the video and must apologize and complain even more! I should have watched it first (my bad) but I'd rather read the pertinent details in the post than watch a vid. I do not agree with your assessments. I think this case gives protection where it is needed most. I don't use any of those new fangled screen protectors that supposedly protect the display from impact damage. I think that's going to far. I do employ the Invisishield on front and back. It give a very snug fit with no bubbling. That said, I'm confident that I will not get any damage if my phone take a hit anywhere this bumper covers. My only concern would be having it hit a rock directly to the screen and in that case, I have insurance. I like the minimalist form factor plus the ease with which it can be taken on/off to change batteries. Plus, I can use it with my FlyGrip which is why I searched for just such a minimalist case. You slip in your two fingers and can use the phone with one hand without worrying about dropping. Plus, as you can see, it doubles as a stand. What has me newly annoyed is the price you quoted. I paid about 4o bucks from the manufacturer, Gimmick Five. I don't see how it could be sold for just 10 dollars.
EDIT: Just checked Gimmick Five's website, and they are still listed at 39.99 US. I'd like to know the story behind Tmart's TrioBumps.

Looking for a proper case

Hey xda
Im looking for a proper case for my s3. Right now i have the official flipcase on my phone, but its just too slippery. I dropped my phone 2 tiles because of my case despite being very careful. It slipped out of my pocket once and one time I only got hold of the flip part and the phone fell. Both from 50 cm so nothing to worry about. Before having the s3, i had an ipod touch and i always used it naked with a pouch. But I dont want any scratches on my s3 back (however there are already some on it) so im looking for other protection. I dont tend to drop my phone a lot. Dropped my ipod once in 1,5 years and my s3 2 times (because of the grip). I was looking around and saw a plastic carbon battery cover replacement, but I also do think im better safe than sorry and i should get a more protective case.
I want a case that:
- doesnt add too much bulk
- offers good/decent protection (also borders at the front of the screen)
- a kickstand would be very nice to have (as i watch a lot of youtube on my phone)
- doesnt cost me a leg (€30 max i guess)
- doesnt mess the responsiveness of
Ofcourse i already checked some cases and found the case mate tough and case mate pop. I also do like the look of spigen cases.
Hope you guys have some good suggestions.
Bye mutn
I've had the UAG case for a while and its the best case I've ever had. It does NOT have a kickstand, but its great with drop protection while still keeping the phone nice and slim. I got mine for $30 on amazon, but they are probably cheaper by now.
I have been looking around and I really Like the UAG.
Could someone post a trustworthy link to the slate blue and the Black one on Amazon.co.uk as I live in Europese.

Cases with Kickstand?

I find I am really missing having a kickstand which I had on my Galaxy Nexus case.
I've looked some but there doesn't seem to be much out there with a kickstand.
I tried buying a Cruzerlite but it never came in so I got a refund. I'm not really interested in trying the same brand again.
What cases have you seen available with a kickstand?
did you do a search on amazon..."nexus 5 kickstand"....there's a ton out there, just that too many of them look like they add too much bulk for my liking. honestly, i prefer the tpu cases...my last 2 phones had them and i couldn't tell you how many times i dropped them...i already have 2 cases but think i'm going to order this one...i kinda miss the kickstand as well
How about this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551409
I did not search Amazon on those keywords.
Tons to look at. Thanks.
If anyone has one they like, post up a link anyway.

This is what I'm using now for my black Nexus 5, fit & finish is fine, no huge gap on the bottom at the micro-usb & speaker/grill openings (unlike the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case)
It's a 2 piece design, the hard plastic w. the flip out kickstand can be removed. It is slim enough that I have no problems slipping it in and out of a canvas vertical belt pouch for extra protection when I'm outside, otherwise, it's in my coat or jacket pocket.
It isn't that much bulkier and looked rugged & sturdy enough for the N5 to survive a drop (no plans to find out either ....)

When I get the chance, I can update this with a few quick photos - seller is in Ohio & shipped free & fast, oversea sellers for less but with a longer wait, especially with holiday mail.
