I think fingerprint still the winner?
why you need it?! i think fingerprint more easily to get quick unlock specially in the dark... also I'm sure face unlock use more battery because it's using camera.

When you have your phone in a table for example, you need lift the phone to unlock with the fingerprint sensor or type the nip. When you use Face recognition only need do a double tap and unlock easy without lift your phone. If you use Face recognition the fingerprint work too!

@ mohitgalaxy3 did you find the dev rom also?

Anyone install it successfully?
I'm running the dev 6.31 version and using the built in updater to try and install the global edition
My only thought was since I'm running a dev Ed it won't let me update to a global ROM?

first of all you need windows x64 and the latest x64 miflash from here http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=attachment&aid=NjE4NDc5fGM4ZTg0NTA0fDE0NjAwNTg3NjN8MTYwNzg2NjM3NXwyNjAwMzA%3D
then you will be able to flash the fastboot rom to locked bootloader mi5
With this global Rom, we don't need to unlock bootloader right?
Just following the Flashing guide is ok?
After installing it, do we still have OTA update?

Nice,
Just have to wait the next flash sales in China and hope i can get one 128G
Been running this since yesterday. Running nicely

i'm on a locked bootloader and i can't install the global rom with the updater app, it says the it can't verify the package.
tried to do it with the edl method, but the phone doesn't show up in the device manager, probably some driver issue.
is the rom worth all the hassle?
Will this Rom work on the 128GB model? Or does it have a special version?
Does the native backup work well after I flash the global ROM from China ROM?

I only got my phone yesterday so was buzzing I could update to global ROM day 1. Like you I get the cant verify message when trying to update.
Flashing isn't an option for me as my windows laptop is a mess. It's barely functional.
Luckily I have got all the Google apps working fine on Chinese rom. It's annoying though as it shouldn't be difficult to update the ROM.

If you go to miui from mi flash , it will automatically change recovery to stock and unroot your device. You can flash custom recovery after that and root from that recovery

Thank you so much. All doubts cleared.
Bootloop in miui 9 after flashing xposed
root your rom with magisk and install magisk's xposed, works for me
Running XenonHD, helium and tried v88 and v88.1
Able to flash framework and install Xposed_Installer. But what i want is gravitybox and installing that results in bootloops.
Have not tried other modules as i dont need anything else.

I think it is a straight up logical question that was asked. Maybe this thing cannot be flashed with TWRP the way it is now but can this thing be turned into a .zip and flashed with TWRP? or is it a partition thing that no rom can be flashed with TWRP with this phone? I think what everyone is wondering is if everyone is going to have to run to their PC to flash something it defeats the purpose of installing TWRP.

Yeah but be careful, this particular one is just for A9. Installing on A10 causing permanent bootloop, no way to undone damage to the system. Miflash Pro is the only help. For A10 need to find miui-default-apps(unified)A10.zip
BTW, anybody knows how to set up contacts syncing by default to google server instead to Mi account? Mi contacts app does not want to cooperate easily in that way
When assigned picture to any contact the full screen caller works just for few minutes. After that the picture is resizing to small one and no idea how to bypass this thing...?
work like a charm on android 9 RMN8Pro. Do you have possibly stock apps for android 10 (wifes in on 10, needed to use twrp 3.3.2b but managed and instaled magisk, just need modules for A10)

Yeah but be careful, this particular one is just for A9. Installing on A10 causing permanent bootloop, no way to undone damage to the system. Miflash Pro is the only help. For A10 need to find miui-default-apps(unified)A10.zip

just go to twrp and do factory reset (had to try because i cant find default apps for 10)

thank a lot. work perfectly. unfortunatly, andorid 10 doesnt support call recording so no use of miui dialer....
so if you need call recorder stick with andorid 9
stock dialer stopped working
anyone else facing this issue?
had the zip flashed from twrp last week
was working perfectly with call recording until today
now the call recording function disappeared
i've uninstalled / tried reinstall zip from twrp
