7X Oreo Update Files - Honor 7X Questions & Answers

Instead of waiting for the phone to get the staged update can we just flash the update.zip and other related update zips with TWRP?

I used the L24 update files from TeamMT as well as the guide found in the link below to update to the recently released stable build of Oreo

Did the data update files install for you?
My update fails at or near 70%
And I do not have the face unlock as listed in changelog.
Along with different version number on about phone screen.

And did it install with Project Treble support? Repartitioning/etc as needed? Or did it just somehow load the ROM on the current layout?

Mine went through fine and it went pretty fast too. I updated from the beta version of Oreo if that makes a difference.

From l24 beta?
That makes sense, why firmware finder says not for many. Because this one might be for beta updates

No "Repartitioning/etc" needed. If the L24 is just like the L34 (which I believe it is), it's already partitioned. Do a google search for how to view android partition table and you can verify it.

I got it to finish the update. Not sure which one of the two changes I made that made it work, but I will summarize.
I used the twrp install method I have been working on. It uses the same manual method that has been used to flash beta oreo.
But I was shortening the file names (both in the script and the file names in the folder) . This might have been the issue. So I changed the update script(not released yet) to use original file names. And Installed a second time from inside the partial oreo update . Based on previous post about successful updating from oreo beta worked, this might be the key.
This time update finished fully.
No error during flash, Full model name in about phone, face unlock works.

You might want to mention what version of the OP8 Pro you have. A lot of us got 10.5.11 on July 7th or 8th.

Assuming he's EU, because I got it earlier today as well.
US had .11, but its the same as .10 IN EU.
Meaning .11 in EU should essentially be .12 in the US.
Anyone in the US getting a .12?
Nothing in usa for .12 so far ...
Yeah..the version number in EU is always one number behind..I think. I got this update today also...and Yes.. working nice.
It seems that the version number that is different from one to another land making people crazy ??
I'm in the EU (Austria), but my IN2023 is still on 10.5.8.IN11BA
I haven't gotten an update in quite some time.
The Oxygen Updater app shows the new versions, but I'm skeptical about using it to update my device.
Any ideas why I'm not getting these updates via the regular updater?
Update: I enabled my VPN and set it to Switzerland before checking and now it offers 10.5.10. It did not offer it with Austrian and German VPN servers.

Still no ".12" for IN2025(US)

Actually you didn't. The 10.5.11 from EU (10.5.11.IN11BA) is not the same as 10.5.11 from NA (10.5.11.IN11AA). Just because they have the same version numbers doesn't mean they include the same patches and features. You'll get a 10.5.12 in NA (10.5.12.IN11AA) which then is the same as 10.5.11 for EU (10.5.11.IN11BA).

Question How to upgrade to Oxygen OS 12 Open Beta 3(C36)

Hello everyone, I am using an op9p with unlocked bootloader, and it is running oos 12 open beta2 now. Few days ago, Oneplus published a new update called C36, and I am trying to upgrade to it. However, each time I try to upgrade, I only got an "installation problem. Then I turned to the OxygenOS Updater, but even the update showed a "damaged file". Finally I download a file from the link, and I got a zip called "3a08e6de926493aedc3e04ee8b23476077c5b553.zip", which checksum is just like the pic

The expected md5 checksum in updater is "b121be03d8175bee2da76184a3719211", as you can see, it's different. But its SHA-1 checksum is just exactly equal the file name, so I am not sure about that if I have downloaded the right file now. Also, the local upgrade app can't see this zip.
Is there anyone already upgraded to the OB3? Or somebody can share his upgrade file? Thanks!

Pretty much yes. Unless some one can figures out some solution. I tried flashig stock vbmeta and boot. Still didnt work. This incremental bs is crap. This is probably my last op device...
Download the update.
Download the "Local Update.apk. Run it.
I had a similar problem. From OB1 (rooted) I couldn't get OB2 installed using system update or the local update app. I tried flashing stock boot.img and vbmeta to unroot, but it didn't make any difference. Finally after OB3 came out (I was still on OB1), I reinstalled OB1 full zip using local upgrade app, took the OTA for OB2, then took the OTA for OB3 before rooting again. But now I'm probably stuck like you until the next full update is released (or we have to roll back for stable).

Nope, I just tested it. It's working fine with both wifi and mobile data. Checked calls! Checked download speed / upload speed. Checked the strength as well. Tbh, it's quite good compared to the previous version.
Well, I think I will wait for more feedback, especially from global users from Europe
EU version on OOS updater also advising to hold off on updating as there's reported issues with network.
Also got the news for EU version on OOS Updater.
How would one install this when rooted? Same as other OTA updates?
Full install locally, Magisk to inactive slot?

Idk yet but i say wait till the main rooting guide gets updated, I think we may have to use canary magisk since that supports a12

I'm guessing it will work the same as open beta. For OB we had to actually flash a patched boot image and vbmeta partition after updating. I'm on stable magisk with OB3, not canary.

Would we need vbmeta if we use canary? since that natively supports a12

Mi 10t 5g - lack of updates since 2020

I recently got this phone, I like it, but I'm astonished that it seems that I'm unable to update it. I tried the standard OTA update, i tried updating by downloading the most recent official ROMs and nothing, i get always the same message: "Can't verify update - Sorry flash to this stable version is not allowed."
I was only able to update (by package) from the rom 12.0.18 to the rom 12.0.19, which has the security patch from 12.2020.
I tried to switch regions too and nothing.
Do i really have to unlock the bootloader on a new phone or am i doing something really wrong? How come most people are already on 12.5 and android 11 while I'm stuck on 10?

I had this same problem as you. I solved it by sending my phone for guarantee. I think they did as you wrote - so probably unlock bootloader and flash (and blocking during flashing). There is no other solution for this problem.
Maybe with MIUI 13 everything will be working fine (for MIUI 12 and 12.5)? I hope so.

Hi,
from my opinion, you can flash the latest version, without problem.
Just try the followings:
Settings\About the phone\MIUI version\
click on the MIUI logo 3-4 times, than you will get "extended" menu...
on the right upper corner, the "dots" = menu\select the update package...
look aroung the follong site:
Xiaomi Firmware Updater
The ultimate script that provides firmware packages for Xiaomi devices.
xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
BE SURE, select the correct version and download the full image for you phone... copy your phone, and select it with the update manager......

Question Does anyone have CPH2451.11-A.** full for ALL images?

This post has OnePlus 11 original images.
But it doesn't have CPH2451.11-A.**. It only has the init_boot and boot files. Looking for ALL of the original images. Maybe someone can do a partition backup and post them?
CPH2451 is for North America according to this.
I found myself having to fix my phone in EDL mode using MSM and installed CPH2449 on my CPH2451.
CPH2449 is global, but everything works fine on it. According to my research it shouldn't affect anything since CPH2449 is global. Calls/text/data/wifi/battery percentage works.
I did find this file on MEGA which appears to be an export of CPH2451.11-A.06 but have not confirmed if the file integrity.
11.86 GB file on MEGA
mega.nz

I realize you can use payload-dumper to get the payload, and can find the incrementals, but not the full. Since you need full + incremental to properly export the images, that's why I need the full.
I used Oxygen Updater which by the way, works great, but could not find the FULL download of CPH2451_11_A.**, could only find the incrementals.

If you haven't rooted, just update through About > OxygenOS. If you have rooted, that's a different story. Alternatively you can use Oxygen Updater to download the local incremental and update following the instructions in the app.

Somebody uploaded CPH2451_11_A.21 here. It's not the traditional payload.bin file, looks like files for an EDM transfer...
Should be able to grab the images from the IMAGES folder though.
Thanks again!
