Wifi Calling on Nokia 6.1 - Nokia 6.1 (2018) Questions & Answers

Hey guys, just received my 1045 in the mail and am liking it so far. I just had a question in regards to WiFi calling. Does anyone else know if this feature was disabled? Thanks.

It's there, but hidden. Phone > 3 dot menu > Settings > Calling Accoutns > Tap on your SIM > Wifi Call.

can anbody confirm that WiFi Calling is working with Deutsche Telekom in germany ?

For me it is under Settings / Network & Internet / Mobile Network / Advanced / Wi-Fi Calling

I don't see either option in my TA-1050. It wasn't there in Oreo, it isn't there in Pie.
Can it depend on carrier or the SIM card(s) inserted?

Wifi Calling worked for me with o2 network (third-party prepaid supplier) and Nokia 6.1 (TA-1043) on Android 8.
After the Update to Android 9, the Wifi Calling option is missing under the settings (see @Berzerker7 comment) and does not work anymore.
I already tried carrier reset, the USSD codes *#*#86583#*# and *#*#4636#*#* and added an IMS APN. Nothing worked.

LG G4 IMS problems - solved

All,
I, like others have had a living nightmare with repeated 'Unfortunately LG IMS has stopped working' which keeps popping up every few seconds. I noticed it happened after wifi lost connection, and the network switched to mobile data. Most annoying as I was having to press it up to 20 times when in car as I was driving along!!! I was so desperate I even asked LG for help, and at one point considered reading the manual
I tried everything - even factory reset and nothing worked.
Mine is a LG 818N dual sim model imported into UK, (running on Sim1 - three and Sim2 o2) so not sure if this is factor.
I think I have found a solution at last.
Go into the hidden menu - on phone dialler, dial 277634#*#
When in the menu, select Field test > Modem settings > VoLTE on/off > Subscriber and untick IMS to disable it. I restarted the phone, and the annoying messages were gone.
I believe IMS can be turned off without any major loss of functionality - if anyone knows the effect, please post here for others. So far I can't see any difference other than I can use my phone again
HEY, I was searching for an answer these days too, and just 10 mins ago I flashed back to ver.10b hoping that it will help...... anyway thanks for your tip there.

VoLTE is an improvement over GSM and WCDMA voice service and is the 'wave of the future'. As such LG and the associated operators who use LTE and VoWLAN, voice over the WiFi, Wireless Access Network should be fixing this sooner rather than latter.
This is mostly LG's problem but the buck has to stop with your service provider because that is who you pay for delivering service that is not crapola. The network service operator must arrange their network to use VoLTE and switch from voice over WiFi to VoLTE. Both of these are IP based, using the same basic set of protocols as a common web browser. The advantage of that is voice can be embeded into and between applications including integration into social networking, picture posting and exchange, video conferencing apps, etc. VoLTE is much more agile and should be made much more seamless, ie. without drops, and poor quality. VoLTE is able to pack more calls on the network at higher fidelity than all other voice. '3D'+ multiplexed voice and software voice cancellation, for example, can be done, potentially using multiple devices watching an event, for example. This can be be the direction of evolution or it can stick with the old glitchy voice networks of the past.
LG IMS has to do with the WiFi-Calling feature.
There's a safer way to fix this problem. In the hidden menu, rather than disabling VoLTE, scroll down a bit (in the same menu "VoLTE on/off") to "IP Version." Change this setting from "IPV6V4" to "IPV4V6." If the problem persists, change it to "IPV4," and the problem should vanish.
A LOT of networks don't support IPv6 yet.
airplane mode
the "Unfortunately LG IMS has stopped working" sometimes keeps popping up before you can set up the hidden menu options.
by setting your phone to [ airplane mode ] -- this will help you get through the hidden menu settings.
In india it must be ON for VoLTE services . and i never dealt with the this kind of ims stopped problem

Vodafone (UK) Wifi Calling on Android 10

Sorted wifi calling on Vodafone UK using https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78858125&postcount=6
Updated to Android 10 (Keep typing Windows 10 which is scary!!!!) and now the option is gone.
When I enter the code and go into phone information Wifi provisioning is greyed out and cannot be turned on.
I have turned wifi calling off via the vodafone app and turn back on again but still no joy.

I didnt have wifi calling at first, i did search for it on settings tab and it re appeared, im vodafone UK also.
Make sure carrier settings is up to date aswell.
Wifi calling is still here
Can someone on vodafone uk compare your wifi calling settings with mine please? Was working before update. Cant move the settings to on.
Thanks to anyone who can
Show your IMS settings, there u see, if u're registered for VoLTE or WFC.
Perhaps anything went wrong with APN settings after update?
Choose back to default on APN settings, or check them manually with the providers one.

Mines provisioned, but they are administrator only, hence greyed out and you cant toggle them yourself, only your carrier unless you root it, try adding clearing carrier settings, if you do you will have to clear the message app aswell, but sync will bring back messages, download shortcutter, navigate to carrier settings and toggle wifi , and also add ims apn, name ims, apn name is ims, set to ipv4 and ipv6 on both, dont fill anything else in and save it. now toggle it, it should jump back to default after you toggled it. If you disabled the wifi tab on vodafone website, each toggle takes 24 hours to register
All sorted. Took 3 attempts with vodafone. The last person said they would force the settings through the server and hey presto. All sorted.
Am now on vodafone settings version ending in 305.2 (It may be of use to someone!)

Force-enable VoWiFi?

Hey, so I just bought a new SIM card from Airtel, and turns out, VoWiFi is not working on it. Jio (another sim) provides VoWiFi support fully, and it works completely, by the way. I contacted both Airtel and Google and they just keep on the "blame-the-other" game.
Anyone managed to force enable VoWiFi? VoLTE works already (even though the phone isn't listed in the supported list for Airtel), but not VoWiFi.
*#*#4636#*#* says, IMS registered -> true, VoLTE -> available, VoWiFi -> unavailable, Video Calling -> unavailable, UT Interface -> unavailable.

Question WiFi calling Vodafone UK?

Anyone on Vodafone UK? Do you get the option of WiFi calling? I get VoLTE, but not WiFi calling unless I use logkit method.
EE gets it no problem, also the option to choose WiFi or cellular preferred.
I can enable it using logkit and it works, but can't choose WiFi preferred.
Somewhat solved my own issue here.
Initially I'd tried a couple of those apps that would give you the option of WiFi preferred or not, but they kept crashing. So.
Turned off those options in logkit, restarted phone. Disabled my secondary EE SIM.
Found an app called VoWIFI which allows you to turn on WiFi calling, but also allows you to say cellular or WiFi preferred. Could have stopped there, but then saw a comment saying to just create a shortcut.
Downloaded 'shortcut maker'. Created a shortcut under settings, settings activities, searched WiFi and selected WiFi calling. Create a shortcut from this and voila! Shortcut only works if only one SIM active.

Wifi Calling with Cricket?

I had checked the Settings and everywhere. I can't seem to find the Wifi Calling option of the TCL 10 Pro with Cricket(AT&T). I am wondering if there's an app or software (or any other ways) that can be installed to have the Wifi Calling feature for this phone.

Settings — SIM cards and mobile network — SIM card settings — "your AT&T SIM" — Wi-Fi calling. Or it doesn't work? (I can't check, haven't got Cricket in my country)
