dotOS is an Android Rom which focuses on performance and stability. We focus on making our rom look and feel great without struggling on Performance and Battery! So that one can get most out of his/her device.....
CLEAN FLASH :
* You must be on latest marshmallow boot loader, i.e. you must have either upgraded your stock rom to marshmallow or update bootloader to marshmallow one.
* If you have lollipop bootloader this rom won't install or will create problems.
* when coming from other roms stock/custom always make clean flash..
* If you are facing the problems it is wise to ask in the group first as you must be doing something in the process rather than posting bad comments. As I test the rom before uploading.

z00ad is z00a so yes, it should work.

Will it work with Asus Zenfone Zoom?

I had a problem trying to make rom flash.
It stops at about 80%, in the message "patching system image unconditionally" and does not continue.
I kept running for 2 hours and did not finish. Then try NutOS and flash as usual.
Before it was in the stock rom, unlocked bootloader and the last TWRP.
And I tried again over the NutOS, same mistake of "patching system image unconditionally".

A question to the OP please,
What is the difference between this and the thread in the developers section? I mean this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/rom-dotos-v1-2-t3735587/page11

Maybe package is corrupted.
download again and try

read OP. This will happen if you upgrade from stock MM / other ROMs. Try to get back to stock LP and then upgrade 2 this ROM.

You must be doing something wrong.
Check
1. You must be on latest stock ROM (not only for this ROM or device, this info is valid for every time and device)
2. When coming from different ROM, always Install clean. Dirty flash doesn't work good.
3. Sometimes the gapps have issues with themselves, so either try older one or wait for new one. Many users reported that gapps didn't work for that day. And it worked fine afterwards.
And I try myself then only I upload a build. I have got everything working. So the sim issue shouldn't be there if everything is according to the guide

The "SIM not working" issue seems to be happening with every recent ROM (not only DotOS). I'm using DotOS here and am having the same issue here.
Actually, the problem can be temporarily worked around by opening the case and reinsert both SIMs to force a reinitialization of SIM cards every boot. However, you may lose some SIM-related settings in the process and have to reconfigure which SIM card to use as data, phone calls and SMS each time you do this.
For some unknown reasons, the SIM card was unable to be properly initialized at boot time, and got stuck in an "unknown" state. It's just "No service" rather than "No SIM Card", and that even the system reports the SIM slots were empty, you can actually read every information from your first SIM card through Phone Info (Settings -> About -> Status, otherwise accessible by typing *#*#4636#*#* from Phone).
From a "really clean" flash (wiping System in addition to default ones), the SIM issue happens straight after first boot. Later I tried flashing without wiping System, from a nandroid backup of a previous ROM (GA) where the SIM cards could still be detected, for the first few boots the SIM could be eventually initialized albeit taking a very long time, then stopped being able to do so. The exact reason is unknown, but I suspect a possible race condition somewhere during the boot sequence.

You'll need to restore the phone to stock lollipop bootloader, then install the unlock app from asus, upgrade to marshmallow, install TWRP then try installing the ROM again.

Seems like you are on fire man.. Good job. Will try it out soon..
Based on Pure AOSP?? Will try it out ASAP
Don't get me wrong here, I love seeing all the support our devices are getting but all of these posts have something very important missing: why should we use your rom? A lot of these threads lately just link to a github and that's basically it. For some of the older roms like LineageOS/RR/MIUI/etc they don't need much explanation but you gotta sell us! We're not gunna put in the effort to try the rom if there's not even a cursory feature list.
Like I said, I appreciate the work you guys do but as someone looking for something AOSP-based there's a decent amount of choice but info helps us make the decision!

Tried out the ROM mate. It was awesome. Everything was working well except for the camera. Sorry, I couldn't grab a logcat or anything, but I remember, it was force closing everytime I tried to open it.
Thanks again, for the ROM. Keep up the good work..

Sounds like you did a dirty flash over another AOSP ROM? I never tried that.
Just flash your preferred root method again, maybe it works, but I suggest to do a clean flash.

I have wiped data, Dalvik and cache before flashing the ROM, so I don't think this was a dirty flash
Unless you suggest that I should have also wiped system...I'm quite reluctant on that one...

So flashed Magisk. Had some issues with booting and data, but in the end I was able to install Magisk Manager and the root is here hooray :fingers-crossed::highfive:
As for Google Pay, I would probably need to report my device to Google as one that this eligible to use the services as this seems to be connected to the recent change in Google policy towards non-supported devices.
Anyway, thanks guys
The ROM looks really nice and I hope I will still like it in a week time :victory:

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Can this ROM be flashed through TWRP?
A. Yes, proceed with the latest TWRP image
Q. Sounds good. How can I contribute to project?
A. Test the build as much as you can and report bugs which can be reproduced with exact steps and are not random.
Q. How to disable "Apps running in background" dialog?
A. When you see the dialog, long press on it and select "Settings". From there, you'll have a toggle to disable it.
Q. Which Models are supported?
A. So far it works well on the H930(G/DS), US998, VS996 and LS998. Other models may have broken RIL or bootloop. Im open for solutions regarding that.
Q. Why is my phone restarting during the Setup? Or early after it booted?
A. If you use a MicroSD in exfat, that can be the cause. The exfat drivers are for some reason really picky when it comes to that. Change to ext4 or NTFS or so.
Nice! Must try. Downloading... Thanks!
Your killing me!!! Lol.
I tried installing on H931 converted to us998 and it wouldn't pass the bootanimation.
Coming from Boombox Rom My Process: Wipe System > Factory Reset > Flash Rom + Gapps(pico arm64) + Magisk 16.4.
I'm missing quick settings toggles on this ROM too. Am I doing something wrong? No complaints op, just been out of the custom ROM loop

Maybe a quick data format in twrp could help.

Dotos is actually my favorite. BTW, aod works fine unlike rr and lineage. One thing missing though is the setting for daytime and night time display control that lets you adjust screen color. Otherwise this is a daily driver. If we ever get volte, that would be awesome.

AoD only works some of the time for me - sometimes, just like I've seen reported in LOS etc, trying to unlock with my fingerprint doesn't do anything, I have to wait a few seconds, then click on the button, and do it all over again. Also, sometimes the clock just doesn't show at all when I turn the screen off. When it does work, it's not very bright at all, either.
Another problem I came across is that trying to open the DotUI Center for Interface Tweaks in Settings force closes Settings. I've attached the relevant part of the adb log.
Lastly, the other thing I noticed that is not quite working right is in DotExtras - changing the battery icon style works, but the "Show battery percentage" setting doesn't seem to do anything at all - there's no change (i.e. the ##% always shows) no matter which setting I choose.

Awesome! Can I buy you a beer or something? Where can I send it?
Random question. Is it a hardware or software issue regarding the v30 not being able to use the fingerprint scanner to pull down the notification tray? I've noticed that it doesn't have this feature in stock, Lineage, and now dotOS.

Try fingerprint gesture apps i guess? Otherwise, not sure. If they dont work, I can try to switch to the LG fingerprint stack again, idk if it will work with those though.

Couple of questions. Is there any difference between this and the version posted in the Pixel Experience thread? Is there any point flashing this if I already have that installed?
Second, any ideas what the square icon in the status bar is? And is there a way to get rid of it?

You mean on the right side? This is NFC. You can turn NFC off if you don't need it or check the statusbar settings to hide the icon.

No, they are basically the same although I just compiled a build with PE's kernel, device tree and vendor. I'm testing it as we speak and there Should be a new build up here in the next hour or so if things go smoothly.

Ok , thanks for your time , Official support would be awesome.
Hello!
Thank you for the build, this is awesome
Quick question: Does anyone else have any issues getting through the setup? Once I painfully get through it after clicking back and next to finally get it to respond and get to the desktop, it's verrrry laggy.
I'm trying to do a complete wipe, including internal storage to see if it makes a difference.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Love the Android P UI!
EDIT: I found that I didn't install Magisk yet, and the install is going a LOT better. I'm not lagging nearly as much, so I'm going through this all without Magisk yet, and once I get everything setup I'm going to install to see result. I'm also using Pico OpenGapps.
Thank you!

What build date are you on? I had uploaded a build with SElinux in enforcing (which caused a lot of system lag) and took it down after I tested it extensively. Clean flash to the 03 or 06 build. Only difference between those builds is 06 has been compiled with SDClang 3.8. Other than that there's no lag on my end at all with the mentioned builds. Next build will have July security patches

I'm assuming that was the dotOS-O-v2.3.1-ether-UNOFFICIAL-20180704 build? That's the one I tried and it was unbearably laggy. I'm not seeing an 06 build on your drive though, just the 03 and 04.

Yeah, I apologize for that. I'll have to check my drive, though I had uploaded it to the same folder this morning and 04 is not there anymore.
Edit: 06 is there. Try clearing your browser's cache
I just merged the changes to add back back IMS, CNE, and DPM from omni to the device tree for DotOS. I'll need testers for VoLTE if anyone's interested as I don't have cellular service myself.

Odd, I know the first time I tried it, it was with the 04 build, correct. It happened with the 03 build, but that was earlier this afternoon. I'm going to give the 06 build a try.

Hello!
Yeah I'm actually doing a full wipe, even internal data. Then I throw the zip files into TWRP, and flash them individually. Starting with ROM, then GAPPS. I have the 06 build right now, and I tried installing Magisk from TWRP at the same time as the ROM and GAPPS and it still gave me the laggy setup/UI; once I re-wiped and started over with just the ROM and GAPPS it worked flawlessly.
Just or an experiment, I flashed Magisk after the fact, and it causes the UI to have many lag issues.
I hope this is helping development at all, I'm not meaning to be a pest, I apologize.
Thank you!

I use magisk and have been flashing it before the first boot and sometimes even afterwards. I haven't faced any lag other than in the setup and even then it was minimal from what I've seen and I've been flashing test builds all week.

It's pretty great Imho. I own two robins at the moment, one for testing and one for daily use. I've been on the 03 build since I compiled it and haven't run into any battery life issues. I personally think it's on par with other 8.1 ROMS for the robin although I haven't exactly compared them side by side due to the fact of me testing things constantly.

This is Candy9. Built straight from source with commits from a variety of different Sources/ROMS. We wanted to give the users a fun, fully customizable ROM, with regular updates and security patches.
We do this as a hobby, and we happily share the Candy of our toils with the custom ROM community, for free. We use what we share on our own devices, most as Daily Drivers, so you can be confident that problems will be promptly addressed.
Thanks for your support and camaraderie. Special thanks to GZOSP, GZR-Roms, LineageOS, SlimRoms, Omni, TeslaROM, AOSiP, DU and the innumerable rest who make their source open. We can't do all of this on our own!
Donations are appreciated, but NEVER expected.
Stay tuned for more Candy!

It's a issues encounter only with some users (with me). The only fix is to remove your PIN code and all the problems dissapear.
does this rom have issues with mic in pubg ?
You must decrypt to install and then encrypt again in menu, or you must keep phone decrypted?

Decrypt to install for sure. You could try encryption afterwards and let us know? I'm not encrypted.

im having issues with connecting to my bluetooth in my car. it just connects and disconnects. i tried changing the codec but its stuck on default or sbc. i dont even know if the codec is the reason, but something i noticed. might be related to firmware. ill flash whatever firmware i need to and get you a log

and look at what the OP also says: ROM Firmware Required: "OOS 5.1.5 as of 10Nov2018"
You're using 5.1.7 as stated earlier. Make sure to read all the instructions before flashing or calling bugs.

#DroidOnTime
ROM Version: 5.2.1
Devices: beyondlte (beyond0lte, beyond1lte, beyond2lte, beyondx), d1, d2s, d2x
(S10 series and Note 10 series)
Maintainer: bertino
Build Status: UNOFFICIAL
This ROM is built using the official LineageOS trees, and brings a couple extra features:
FBE (encryption for the /data partition) - this means NO SUPPORT FOR TWRP - ONLY LINEAGE RECOVERY IS SUPPORTED!
Working bluetooth calls
OTA
Built in patched camera libs (libexynoscamera3.so) for RAW support in GCam (I recommend BSG GCam)
Signature spoofing (microG support)
Known issues:
5G connectivity (for d2x/beyondx) (? needs testing)
VoLTE/VoWiFi - not working for most Samsung devices, so no fix in the near future

dotOS is an Android ROM which focuses on performance and stability. We focus on making our ROM look and feel great without struggling with performance and battery! So that one can get most out of their device.....
The same instructions as for installing official LineageOS apply, so the ones found here.
If you want to update your firmware, use the guide provided by Linux4 here (click on your device, then firmware update).
As I said before, due to encryption being enabled, you CAN NOT INSTALL this ROM using TWRP.
You need to use the OFFICIAL Lineage recovery (link in downloads section)
Simple instructions for installing recovery (if you already unlocked your bootloader):Odin:
Rename the downloaded .img to recovery.img and add it to a .tar archive using, for example, 7Zip
Flash the resulting .tar file in Odin
Heimdall:
(Windows): Shift+Right click in the folder where you downloaded the img, then click Open PowerShell/cmd window here.
Run heimdall flash --RECOVERY <name_of_recovery>.img
(Linux/Mac): open a terminal, navigate to the downloaded image, and run the same command.
After installing lineage recovery, all you need to do is factory reset, flash the ROM, GApps and Lygisk/Magisk (if you need them of course - either via ADB sideload, or off of an external SD card, or off of a USB stick attached through USB OTG)
For root I recommend using Lygisk Canary (link in downloads section) instead of Magisk, as Lygisk fixes addon.d for devices/ROMs using FBE (like this one), so OTA update works as intended.
Update instructions:Use OTA or just flash the update in recovery.
All releases can be found in here, just look for the latest one coresponding to your device.
GApps: opengapps
Root/Magisk: Lygisk, (use canary), or, if you don't care about OTA, you could just use Magisk
Lineage Recovery: download here. (search your device and then download lineage_recovery img and flash using heimdall)

I'll add simpler instructions to OP tomorrow, but if you'll look at the guide I linked it says the following for installing Lineage recovery:
If using Odin rename the lineage recovery image for your model to recovery.img and add it to a .tar archive using e.g 7zip.
then flash it in odin.
Once you have lineage recovery, just do a factory reset (deletes internal storage too) and flash the rom, gapps, and magisk/lygisk in lineage recovery.
Builds are up for the whole S10 series!

Ota works perfect and fingerprint is working now. Many thank.
Just a quick question, is 5g supported? Because mobile data only shows 4g.

Not sure, i think you are the first person with a beyondx which actually uses 5g. Could you please join the telegram group? https://t.me/exynos9820oss.
Also, does it work for you on the official lineage os?

I'm in your telegram group. 5g doesn't work on the official lineage 18.1, but it worked on my previous Samsung based ROM I.e VN ROM.

ok, can you ask there and post a logcat? I think linux4 will fix it for official lineage, and then it would be fixed here too.

Very nice and smooth OS! Thanks mate! One question, is fast charging available? I need 3,5h to charge the phone to 100% even with a fast charger
I really love this rom but the encryption is a problem for me. The fact that i cannot use twrp to flash this rom and keep my data on my phone is whats stopping me from installing. For the main fact that lineage recovery wipes your storage when wiping the phone. I have too much data to be copying back and forth. It just takes too long. If this rom could have been installed using twrp with encryption disabled, this would have easily been my daily driver and im sure there are lots of people who thinks the same.

well you only have to do that once (and probably when dotos based on A12 comes out), and then just OTA/dirty flash. Or, you know, you could just use the other dotos available lmao.
