Slow Intervals of G7's Blink LED - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hi. I am noticing the Blink LED to blink at a slower interval - it is super annoying. It isn't as fast as the G5's Blink LED.
Does anyone else notice it too?

Hmm, now that you mention it, yeah, I agree. I really didn't pay that much attention to my previous device's LED, but the G7 does appear to be lazy

It is a slower but I don't think there is a setting to increase its speed.

This is what I use. It's the only one I found that works to modify the stock flash rate.

Charging LED app

Not sure if this was already posted or not but one feature I really miss from my HTC Incredible was that when it was charging a small red LED would begin to light up. On the Galaxy Nexus nothing lights up to let you know the phone is charging. I tried Light Flow, which is a great app by the way, but I really just wanted that one simple feature; the ability to have the phone light the LED when it was charging. A quick Market search found me this:

Hope this helps someone out.
Works well, thanks for the link
Thanks, i've missed this from my HTC Hero!

OP is just advertising a much simpler solution.
Great, installed missing this also...
seems nice feature, but what happen if there's message/email coming in? will it blink per notification color or it will override everything else?

True, but lightflow can do this plus a ton more stuff, and if you install this lightflow doesn't work. So my choice is still lightflow

Actually, this goes a little bit farther than lightflow does when it comes to the actual charging of the phone. It changes color while charging, based on the current percentage. I could see how that might be useful to some people. Personally, I like lightflow a lot more, because I like my led to notify me of much more information. For charging, I have solid white while charging, solid green when fully charged, and solid red when battery is low.
led wont work when charging
whenever my phone is plugged in, none of the led notifications work, lightflow or GalaxyNexusLED app, any solutions?
the notifications do work when my phone is not plugged in
works great nice app!!!
works great nice app!!!
Not working properly for me. If plugged in when phone boots, it doesn't trigger. And when unplugging, it keeps blinking until next reboot.
Running MCR 8 with franco nightly #7.
i think the app lightflow is the best..
you can manage for each notification different color of the light

[Q] Lollipop (v20A) Wireless Charging and Textra Issues

Hi,
Can someone else with a D855 G3 updated to v20A Lollipop confirm if they also have these issues:
Wireless charging: When the battery is full the screen will light up, turn off, light up and so on until removed from the charger.
Very annoying in the middle of the night!!! Also happened on 19H update.
Textra SMS: App runs but then silently crashes when you try to open and message old or new.
Many thanks in advance!

is Textra ART compatible? it might be that it has not been updated for use on ART or Android 5.0 yet.
Hi,
I'm not sure but it's been updated recently with Lollipop fixes so would assume ART compatibility. The other SMS app from the same company, ChompSMS, does work.
Was more wondering if it's because I flashed V20A as an update rather than clean but don't want the hassle of a clean flash if others also have the issue. The wireless charging is the bigger annoyance to me, wish the screen would stay off as I charge overnight.
Been talking to a guy at Textra to help get this fixed and today the have found the cause. An update that makes Textra work again will be available shortly.
Hopefully LG will fix the wireless charging bug in the next update.
I have this same problem with wireless charging. Any solution?
Reckon the only permanent solution is an update from LG.
I've not found any software solutions and covering the light sensor makes it worse. For now i've switched to wired charging.
+1 on wireless charging error.
This is why I'm holding off on Lollipop. I also get 'slow charging' notifications constantly, which only G3 Tweakbox disables, at least as far as I know.

I don't get any slow charging messages when using the normal wall or wireless chargers, only when using my PC which is to be expected.
Yesterdays V20C update still has this wireless charging bug.
+1 on the wireless charging error on v20d... this really sucks.

I've been asking LG UK on twitter about this issue and they said they'd pass it on to R&D. Might help if more of us tweet about the issue to LG in other countries too?
+1 same problem on wireless charging
wireless charging
+1 wireless charging keep turning up the screen when it was full fuking annoying me so much
Yeah, same on V20f, no update on wireless charging popups and screen on...
German support tells me that is behaviour is perfectly normal at this time.
They will take future changes into consideration.
Thank you very much ...
NO Problems on V20B...Lollipop
I am using D855, just upgraded to V20b...Lollipop, and I am using a NOKIA DT-900, and the screen doesn't light up when its fully charged.....just the LED light is GREEN
So what about v20f? Is the issue fixed? Does anyone know?
v20f has the same problem. Still not fixed
The wireless charging issue has now been fixed in the v20H update. Works flawlessly now.

Light flow

Has anyone figured out to get light flow to overwrite the settings for the notification light in settings? It seems like my settings from both are working.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How do you set Light flow? On my phone it doesn't work (Oxygen 3.2.0)
Root
by rooting the op3.. i dont know about the unrooted phone.
For me, even with root and playing around with the LED settings, no luck.. I cant get it working unfortunately. The fancy stock colors the OP3 shows (especially for google+ or tapatalk) are dont even make sense to me.

Confirmed! You just need to get used to the colors, but it is working, thanks for this!
I use Light Manager. A little simpler than light flow and works perfectly fine on my OP3.
My light flow (pro) is working fine. Got snapchat glowing yellow whatsapp green and charging light set to red. Seems to be working fine.

I'm using this combination as well, and it's working.. sort of. When my screen is off, the notification light constantly cycles through all the available colors, just like when you run the test and have to turn the screen off.. only permanent. Not sure why it's happening, never had this issue w/ any previous devices. I did restore my data from previous install, but I've gone through all the settings and checked/unchecked at some point and it's still happening. Thoughts/

I talked with the developer.. It seems that is an Oxygen OS related issue.. He told me that also the s7 edge was having that issue and it was fixed by Samsung with a software update.. On Oxygen I read also some people that has problem with stock led control.. Then probably there is something buggy on our system..
I didn't try any other led app however.. Did you?

Oh that's good to know, thx for sharing. I haven't tried any other app yet, I just disabled LightFlow for now since the constant cycling has to chew up extra battery when the screen is off. I'm also still on 3.1.3, going to upgrade to 3.1.2 and see if that helps.

Disabling Charge LED

I depend on the LED to see notifications when my phone is idle.
I've read that charging the phone forces the LED on and blue.
Assuming I will be rooting, and using xposed, is there any option available to disable this such that the LED functions normally at all times?
Notification light comes on as normal even when charging.

So what's the blue LED that is forced on when using dash charge that I've read about?

Basically, while charging the phone has a solid blue LED whoever if you get a notification the blue stops and is replaced by the blinking green or whatever colour for the other notification is

No idea about it being forced on while dash charging but that's just to indicate it's charging at dash speeds. Notification alerts will blink priority over charge indication.
What I think: When you charge at 'normal' speed the led is red, with dash it is blue (and this can't be changed). That's all... Like said as soon as you get a message it will change until you checked it.

I think you're missing the point.
Suppose I have an notifications for specific email accounts that's blue and red.
I'm on the other side of the room (or in bed) and I glance at my phone to see if I have anything I need to address.
The LED is on and Blue/Red.
Do I have an email or is it charging?

Let me be specific.
I want it OFF when charging unless there's a notification.
Can I do that with some combination of
1. Stock software
2. Root
3. Xposed

No need to *sigh* when people try to help you. Just making clear how the situation is, i see it it too hard for you to see if a led is blinking or not. Good luck finding a solution.
I know I won't waste any more time here.
If you are willing to flash a nougat based rom ( as I have flashed AOKP N 7.1 on mine), you'll get the option to disable charging led under lights in display settings.
P.S. Not sure other N ROMs have got this option or in stock OOS or CB.

Any chance that's in any of the Marshmallow roms?

That being the case, would you recommend any particular 6.0.1 rom (that does allow me to disable the charging LED) then?
I'm trying to get as close to stock Android or at the very least stock OxygenOS as humanly possible while still being able to disable the hardware buttons in favor of enabling the software ones.
Just to update, I found (still on my Nexus 5) an option in Gravitybox to disable charging LED. I don't know if that would work on the Oneplus 3, but it looks hopeful. I'm likely going to make the purchase soon then.

Replacement for the Notification LED

After set up I found that this mobile doesn't have a notification LED. How strange is that?!? I didn't check this because this was part of even less expensive mobiles - one of the most important things!
Anyone knows how this can be emulated with less effort? Maybe the keys-background LED can blink?
Edit:
Found that thread, but it is about a different Samsung:

first witch device you are referring to? second A series 2017 doesn't have a led cause it had aod just use that it might not be the same and u might need some times to get used to it but it power consumption its marginal and it well worth it.

Thanks for feedback, it is a A3 (2017). AOD is right now not fully functional on LineageOS15.1. So right now I don't really have experience with AOD, but regarding a friend (using an stock A5 2017) it's power consumption isn't negligible. At least if it can't be configured to only show notification and not time - so in fact to be configured to not be always on

Keys blink for notifications was a feature introduced long time ago. It is still possible to enable it with a custom BLN-enabled Kernel.
But we don.t have any kernel or kernel-dev.
Good luck
