No Sound/Audio - RK PX5 4GB MTCE (Honda Civic Si 2017) - MTCD Android Head Units General

I just received my new head unit from Phoenix Android Radio. I finished installing the unit but there is no sound. No audio from radio or Bluetooth. No interface beeps. Nothing. I fairly sure it has something to do with the factory amp installed in the Si but I setup the factory amp bypass. Not sure if I've missed something or did something wrong. The settings "look" right in the menus (cambus seems to be set correctly).
I have photos of my wiring setup but I can't post the links to them (I'm too new here, I guess). I'm not sure if I can post them in a reply but I could use some help. I'd appreciate any advice.

[Q] Help with new Headunit not powering off and some other minor problems

Hi all, new guy here with some problems.
I've bought a new headunit to replace my factory Skoda Stream Radio CD.
My car is an Skoda Octavia mk2 vRS year 2007, so any VW headunit should be OK in my car.
New headunit is a Joying Android 4.4.4 RK3188 with latest official firmware (June 2015).
I was trying to install it this morning for the first time and found several problems.
The most important one is the headunit doesn't power off even with my car completely shutdown and closed.
Headunit install instructions state there are two different methods to connect the headunit.
First and preferred one is using CANBUS decoder box, so headunit power is controlled through CANBUS decoder.
But if headunit doesn't power on when you turn on the car (that's happening to mine), you have to use second method: unplug CANBUS decoder box and connect ACC +12V red wires so that headunit gets powered.
With this second method the headunit starts up OK, but when i turn off the engine, take out the key or even close the car with remote control, headunit doesn't power off at all. I even tried to wait for 20 minutes but with no results. So i had to remove new headunit from the car to avoid battery drain...
I have upgraded firmware from Abril to June version so i got a new feature that allows to delay shutdown after ACC is off.
I set it to 30 seconds delay but still nothing. Headunit stays on.
I already asked to seller, and i'm waiting for an answer. But i thought maybe i could get some valuable ideas here at the forum.
Still don't understand why headunit is not powering on with CANBUS decoder connected. My car should support it, my factory Skoda Stream Radio CD is able to show climatronic info on display.
Other problems i found:
- Headunit buttons don't light even if i turn on car headlights. If i set button's colour in Settings\Elements buttons light for a pair of seconds to show new color, but then they go off again.
- I wanted to set Skoda logo at boot at Factory Settings but asks for a pin/password. Thought it was 126 but it isn't. What is the pin for Factory Settings?
- There's a slight buzzing coming from speakers when i turn on car headlights. That buzzing is not there with Skoda factory radio unit.
Long post, thanks in advance for your answers. :good:
Seems to me wrong or defected harness?
Does your car have factory amplifier? I had one that was making lot of issues. I figured out that the harness was the problem because they sent me a harness that is compatible with my factory head unit. But my car was standard trim that didnt include it. I had to cut one wire they told me to cut it. And it worked fine after that.

Thanks for your answer Scorbion,
Seller is going to send me a new Canbus box decoder. We think it must be faulty, that's why headunit doesn't power on or power off with it. Without Canbus box, ACC coming from VW harness is not a real ACC but a +12V to battery, because VW factory radio does all through canbus, and so headunit is always connected and doesn't power off.
Will update info when i get the new canbus box from seller.
Thanks

i have the same problem. can u fix it?
Did you solve this canbus problem?
Yes, new can bus decoder did the trick.
Long time ago though...
Hardware solution trumps everything
Had the same issue. Im also waiting for the supplier to respond. In the meantime, I just pulled the acc pin off the box and connected the radio to cig. lighter possitive. Works.

Audio Issue with Dasaita 10.2" Android 6.0 unit - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

Hello, I recently installed the above Android unit into my 2014 Mitsubishi EVO with Rockford system. It came with the can bus decoder MT-SS-03 for 2014 Outlander. I set everything up in the factory settings menu but I'm having a major audio problem that sadly is ruining an otherwise awesome experience.
If I listen to any music at high volume all system audio cuts out completely for 5-10 seconds at a time. I've found this problem is directly related to the volume. The louder it is, the quicker the audio will cut out. I've double and triple checked all wiring and pins, updated to the latest MCU 2.59, Android system (8-3-2017), etc.
I'm out of ideas on what to try next but hoping someone here can shine some light on the situation. Thanks in advance and looking forward to putting an end to this issue!

HELLLP - Dasaita said I can’t use an aftermarket amp??

Hi everyone - a little desperate here. I have a Dasaita 10.2" Android 8.0, Octa Core 4GB+32GB in my Jeep Wrangler. Amazing unit overall but the amplifier app doesn’t seem to give me any EQ, Balance/Fade or Subwoofer control. If I move the sliders around nothing happens to the sound. I reached out to Dasaita and the response was that I cannot use an aftermarket amp with this unit - doesn’t that seem absurd? I would think the RCA outputs could output to any amp. Really hoping someone has has experience with this... thanks!!

I installed mine and am running into the same issue. Does anyone have a solution? No RCA outputs that I can see. I am thinking about returning it.

My RCA outputs work fine though as previously pointed out the Fader and EQ controls seem to have no effect. You can use a music player like PowerAmp which has its own EQ controls to get around it... I've reached out to Dasaita to see what's going on...
I have a similar unit from dasaita, nissan murano.
I am using RCA to my amp, and the built in equalizer and loudness work fine.
The only issue is I am hearing a small static noise when no music is playing.
Change canbus settings
I just installed the v840 7in version in my jk last week on 8/5/18. First thing I did was check how itsounds. Went to the EQ and did not work no setting made any sound change and the fader did not work. My heart fell out and I was ready to send it back.
I went ahead and updated the system files to the most recent but did not change anything with the eq or fader. I then recalled discussion on Jeep forum to change the canbus settings. When I went in the settings it was Jeep 46 I changed it to Jeep 78 and voila EQ works and also the fader although the fade is reversed which I already knew was an issue. Only difference is I don't have an amplifier so I cannot verify that issue although others have amps working fine with full eq functionality.
RESOLVED: Dasaita fader/EQ control w/ external amps
More from jeep forum
For those reporting issues with built in EQ and fader controls on Dasaita PX5 Octacore units not working with aftermarket amplification I figured out the settings....

Open up system settings and navigate to "CAR" and then "Factory Settings"

Enter the Password '126' to get you into the Factory menu. Navigate to the "CanBus" tab:

Change the selection under Amplifier from "With amplifier" to "Without amplifier", click [APPLY] followed by [EXIT] and let the system reboot.
RESOLVED: Dasaita fader/EQ control w/ external amps
Use the jeep 46 setting to access the amp option

Thanks for the info, It works for me, but the bigger problem is, the factory alpine amp don't seems to work, no bass at all.
I have checked every jk forum i can find but no solution. ppl mentioned Pac canbus a lot. but I prefer the unit work it self out.

I dont have a jeep, but there is a similar issue with the tundras, if they were using the stock amp they needed to have a CANbus decoder to utilize the factory amp some units have them already installed some don't.

Thanks, guess I will have to cut off the garbage they provided and rewire the harness.
I got this Disaita for a 2014 Jeep Wrangler JKU with the factory alpine sub/amp. The sound works great. It's true you can't control the fade/balance of it because the jeep's computer is controlling it. I know the OP has an aftermarket one, but that could be what Disaita thinks you are talking about. The included canbus, wiring harness, etc all worked out of the box.

2012 FJ Cruiser install here. Same issue. I changed the factory canbus settings, but don’t understand the options. I am getting rear sub output but no fade control at all. I don’t know enough to retire it all, nor do I have the time or patience.

[solved] PX5 unit no Sound in certain Apps (Audi TT, Bose)

Hello all!
Edit: if you're not interested in the Story, and just want the solution, scroll to Chapter Four
This already has been quite the journey, in fact I went way deeper down this rabbit hole than I'd like to admit, so here is the story:
General info:
Car: Audi TT mk2, 2011, has Bose audio and hands free talking, previous stereo was the RNS-E
Headunit: Xtrons PB78ATTRP, PX5
So the problem was/is, the unit only outputs Sound in these apps:
-Radio, A2DP, Phone Calls, CD-Player, Music or Videos that are loaded onto the micro-SD
I contacted the Xtrons support, apart from being very unhelpful and not doing anything, I later got them to send me a new can bus-adapter (will come into play further down).
So because they weren't very helpful, and i really liked the unit, and with basically no alternatives (Xtrons units claim to be plug+play with the Bose systems, which no other manufacturer I came across claimed), I decided I'd try to hunt it down myself.
Chapter one: Updated the unit to the newest Xtrons firmware + MCU, that did nothing. Updated it to lots of different MCUs, didn't do anything either. Installed Hal9k, no change. Different MCU again, no change. Went on many searches on google, and found people with similar/same problems, but no solution. Then came across something entirely different ,but it gave me new ideas.
Chapter two: I reset the unit a few times, back to Xtrons, back to Hal9k, no change, then I came across the factory settings: you can access those in the car settings all the way down, then enter 126. Standard setting for the can bus profile was, I think, 23 AudiA3, A4. Changed it to anything different than that, and voila, sound now works like it should (although the Bose amp is now always on, when the stereo is on, giving out a little white noise). However, a new enemy emerged: now the steering wheel controls, of course, stopped working.
Chapter three: Tried many different settings in the factory-can bus settings, of course, no difference. At this point, I figured the only thing that could be wrong is either the can bus decoder box or the MCU. So I got that new box from Xtrons, and nothing changed. More internet search fopllowed: I found out some MCUs work across different manufacturers, Xtrons being "GS" for example. So I tried some different ones, and found my can bus box, being a "GS", wouldn't speak with those MCUs. At this point, I got sick of it and figured I'd learn to live without steering wheel controls.
Chapter four: a month or two after chapter three (Today), I figured why not give it another try. So I did another google research on people with can bus problems on PX5 and found this Thread.
So i did what he did, and: IT WORKS! (sort of) Now I have sound in all Apps, and working steering wheel controls. The amp is still constantly on and makes white noise when no music is playing, and i cant completely disable the can bus app, only force stop it, resulting in probably having to force stop it if it somehow starts itself or the unit reboots (if it only sleeps it's fine).
So now, I finally know where the dog was buried so to say, I guess to really fix this id need an update for that can bus-app, which probably Xtrons won't provide
I hope this helped everyone else with that problem, and I'd appreciate any ideas on how to proceed with that can bus-app
have a good one,
Hello, today is your lucky day
I have a 2010 audi ttrs and a Xtron TE706PL with Rom Hal9K ... and i have can bus original from Xtron.
The radio is a universal Xtron one, but i have buy the can bus from radio Xtron for TT Audi.
I have choose in factory the audi A3.
This is not the first android car that I ride.
I have put mcu modified GS, for better sound and it is better with the bass.

For the problem of the amp remaining simply connect the cable vag com and select "1 via remote wire", which will tin the amp with the +15 contact.
For the problem of noise parasite, just go down, with the vag com, the level of the amp, but you can if you want raise the level of the Xtron radio, I'm at -6db for the amp bose.

Hello,
By changing this option, the original bose amplifier will shut off when you turn off and take off the car key.

Strange No Sound Issue

Hi guys, hoping you can assist...I've had an Xtrons unit installed in my Audi TT for about a year now. One day as I was driving, I was listening to music from my phone via A2DP. Midway I switched my phone to my bluetooth headphones so I could listen on those in one ear. It seems the phone stayed paired to the head unit but the music was coming through the earpiece fine, no sound off the headunit.
Ever since that day, I've had no sound coming out of the head unit at all. I've done a factory reset, unpaired any bluetooth devices, and just tried listening to radio, but no sound comes out at all. I thought maybe the amp fuse was blown so checked that and it isnt that. I've pulled the unit forward and no cables are loose
I've contacted Xtrons to try and see if there's a new firmware in the hope that will fix it. My current build is shown below.
px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.hct.20181206.171300 test-keys
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping its a software issue and something didnt blow inside the unit itself. Everything else works fine, just no sound
