The charger have Quick Charge ? And there is a way to disable this ? Fast charge kill the battery

Am I that person who gets +7h?
Yes, that charger is a fast charger. 18W so it's really fast. You can use QC3.0 chargers with this phone. Btw I've never heard that fast charging kills the battery, where'd you read it? I'm just asking. But using phone while charging kills the battery.
I couldn't find a setting to turn off qc.
About battery drain: did you play games? If yes, battery drain is normal but if not maybe they solve it with updates
Note: One + means you are using qc2.0, two + means that you're using qc3.0

Bro I am facing the exact same issue!! Even I was wondering that if I got a defective battery.
Initially on the first 2 days I wasn't even able to reach 4Hr SoT mark. But after update it seems to have "improved" a bit I'd say but not by a largr extent. Now I manage to get just about 4.5 to 5 Hours of SoT.
I still find it strange that how all the reviewers are able to get 6-7 hours of SoT even with their "heavy" usage for the review purposes and I am struggling to cross 5 hrs with just about moderate usage.
*Note- I use 2 sims and data (volte) is turned on most of the time on one sim, throughout the day. I also keep my location on and keep the brightness at auto settings.
If anyone else is facing the same issue and/or has a solution for this Please let us know!!
Thank you! Appreciate it!!

There is no way you can take 7+ hours SOT from Zenfone 5Z. With my Zenfone 5, i always get 5-5:10 hours SoT, IF i'm not listening to radio or Spotify too much. On a normal day, with data, sync, bt and stuff always enabled, i get 5 hours. One day that i was using it all day for youtube and netflix i almost got 6 hours, but never more than that.
I'm not complaining of course, 5 hours SoT out of a 3300mAh battery is good enough for me, but you'll propably never see 7 hours.

Hi !
I'm always getting max 4h SOT with normal use (FB, browser,..) no photos, music or video.. I'm on the last update. Don't know how others people can reach more than 6h .. Maybe a battery problem or me .. Let see if next update will increase battery life but for me not crazy.. Same as my S7E !

Like I said I was having the same issue. I was getting just about 4 Hrs of Screen-On time with very light usage, to the point that I thought that it was me who got a defective product and got in touch with the e-commerce seller (Flipkart from India) from which I made the purchase about getting it replaced. Following which the Technical support team told me to do the following..... Factory reset the phone. Then when you start up again, DO NOT back up the settings from previous phone, instead do SET UP AS NEW DEVICE. Then when you are done setting it up, you need to update all your pre-installed applications to the latest versions and also make sure that you have the latest system update running. Then you need to restart your device one last time before installing any other applications and continue with your regular usage.
I followed these steps and implemented them day before yesterday and it did actually improve my battery life from hardly 4 Hrs of Screen-On to exactly 7 Hours before my phone died (100-0) with my mixed slightly heavy usage with 4g data/wifi always on along with gaming, music streaming to speakers and a good amount of YouTube too.
Try the above stuff maybe it will solve your problem.
Hope this helps!! Peace

use this setup surely u will get good battery backup, ya the quick charging kill the battery backup but if u use this mode then surely get good backup...

I have my schedule set to 10.30 pm -6 am but the phone still charges to a hundred within its usual time(an hour or so if i plug it in at 11pm). How exactly is it supposed to work?Does it just hold it at 100 then for the rest of the night? Just wanted some clarification if its even doing anything at all

For me night time drain is 4-5%. The duration is ~ 7 hours. Regarding battery backup I can confirm it will increase with time. Small advice is that dont let the battery fall below 40%. And dont charge south of 90%. I follow these steps.. I easily get 6 hours screen time with good 18-25% remaining. I use GPS in high accuracy. I have no complaints regarding battery.
Edit - if you have bought it new, then for the purpose of calibration you can drain it to 0 and charge it till 100 once. For me this worked. On the second day I did this and after that battery backup increased.

Night drain is approx 5% here.
Moreover I am getting 7 hours SOT on it
Btw I am using AI charging.

Just followed these steps after the latest update (though it`s a little bit time-consuming project....... ) and hope it`ll help to increase the overall battery life.

I'm on latest update (5 June 2018 Security patch).
My screen on time is over 8hrs (With constant Wifi connectivity) everyday .

I use phone on Power saving mode (not super saving) You will not find any big difference in performance between normal and Power saving, I also Keep the phone on Auto Brightness . Since i got the phone i never used AI charging just for the info if it makes any difference .
Also I'm confident if i don't play PUBG or any other game daily, Phone can easiy go 9-10hrs even when it stays connected to Wifi all day .
Also I never charge my phone during night cause I've faced battery draining issues with my old android phones by doing that often (or even too many ) times .

Official HTC Froyo battery life?

Greetings...
I've been hesitating about upgrading to official HTC 2.2 based ROMs mainly because of concerns over battery life. I have great battery life (4d+ standby, medium use) with Sparta ROM (no Sense) and would like get the same with Froyo.
According to your experience is that possible? What's your battery life like? Thanks in advance for sharing...

Both of NeYoPhyTe's ROM's have a very good battery life i believe, I'm currently using ۵.NeoPhyTe Mod v1.7.1 Sense-FroYo 2.2 · ROM and I'm just charging to 100% and i will give it a try.
I think that there should be a "preserve battery life" thread with people offering their tips on how best to preserve battery life to full extent, i have the usual not syncing facebook twitter an all that, my brightness is at 33% at all times (except if I'm outside) but im sure that there is more that i could be doing to save a little extra......
took off the charger this morning around 7u30, wifi on + gps on (accidentaly though) until 9u. Now 12u15, and still got 93%. Only got 1 and sent 1 message so far.
not bad i think and i'm using MCR r7 wip.

Im sorry but i dont get it... you have the very best gadget on the market right now and you use it for 4 days of standby and low medium use? Why did u buy this phone?
If u arent using ur phone, dont go to froyo because battery life will decrease due to so many improvements and better wifi signal that burns a lot more battery.
I got roufianosV6 and i use my phone very heavily, fb sync, gmail, lots of sms and calls, internet all the time, wifi on 24/7, using various apps,... and i get 15-20% battery left at the end of the day and im very pleased with my battery life.
If u get 4+ days that means practically no usage and it meabs u dont even need this phone.. since u do have it, i would really disadvice u to go on 2.2, because u would go only for the number not for actually using the goodies.
Besides... you guys live in woods without electricity or u have to pay for each charging of the phone?

What?
I know plenty of people who would need long battery life over raping their phone for all its worth over 15h. Whenever I go on holiday for example, I don't want the battery cutting off mid flight because im playing music through last.fm. Or if I'm on the train, I wan't to know that I can make calls the next day.

he is right though in a way, why have a high end, top performing device, if your not going to use it for 4 days? I see what you are saying, about wanting to be able to use it without having to re-charge every 5 hours or so, and the only solution would be to buy a spare battery for those long haul trips. I would be happy getting 24 hours with moderate to heavy use.
Just wanted to write that - buy a spare battery for planed trips with no electricity on the way. Desire holds a day and a half of medium usage - only for what u need and when u need - calls and sms with no wifi or gps or syncing weather fb music radio etc..
Or... buy a sonyericsson walkman edition, i guarantee u better sound and longer battery life. Lasts a week of medium use on my SE w810.
U can buy double sized batteries i think for the desire as well but it looks ugly from the back. Besides, desire has micro and normal usb cable, and you can charge it just about anywhere. Moreover microusb will be official charger for europe and from soon to come on, all the mobile manufacturers will gave to make micro usb chargers and u will be able to fill up your phone from ur friends charger.
Desire has a top battery comparing to the processes it runs all the time and to the great amoled. I have it ob full brightness all the time. I dont get ppl reducing the amoled brightness as its the fabulous colors that make the screen so insanely great. Its like buying a porshe and installing a golf V 1.2 disel engine because porshe uses to much fuel...
Im sorry but there must be something sacrafised to have such a high end device and that is battery in this case. I really cant imagine using the desire with all inclusive apps use. It lasts a day and thats mire than enough for me - use it over day, recharge over night. If some ppl have desire for bragging that they own a best device out there but they dont use it... well then theres the battery problem indeed. (im not implying to anyone here, its meant in general)
On stock 2.1 ROM my desire lives only 1 day with 2G only, BT off, Wi-Fi on, no fb and no gtalk, some IM (jabber via Jabiru). In general, my phone wasn't overloaded.
When had upgraded to froyo (AdamG's SenseFroyo 1.0c) i got 2 days uptime with same using conditions. And additionally i can watch one movie or surf web for ~2 hours

Extra batteries suck because you need to restart the phone every time you want to replace one. I'd recommend something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/JustMobile-Gum-Pro-Power-Pack/dp/B0026NB4UE
4400mAh (presumably at USB's 5V) capacity and a full 1000mA current for charging other devices. Just ordered one myself because the Desire's battery life is so awful (apparently mainly because of the AMOLED screen)
U have to turn off your phone anyway to do anything: switch sim, sd card or battery and it takes u up to 3 mins, thats not a lot of time wasted.
@ the user above:
I had the same problem my desire not holding for long and i wiped battery stats and my battery life doubled. Besides, adams rom is without sense so i imagine a lot les data runs at the same time in the background, which enlenghtens the battery life.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Using w7 MCR ROM with minimal apps added and other apps removed that I don't use and battery life is barely 24hrs with the latest radio...using the old MCR 2.2 ROM with the leaked radio I was getting 2 days with the same usage so looks like a radio issue to me...

Why would you switch your SIM card or SD card regularly?
I just leave mine in there unless I get a new one - which is about once every two years, respectively

I know it's not official HTC Froyo, but should give some idea of Froyo power consumption...
Let's do some investigation !
The problem:
Many 2.2 roms with HTC sense complain for a very low battery life. The problem seems to be the following: when the screen is on, the battery melts (!), 1% per every two minutes approximately. The sleep mode is okay. So far we don't really know what's causing this.
A way to find the solution ?
Maybe we could do some investigation to find out which process drains the battery. I propose that we use JuicePlotter (or battery graph, never mind), try to kill some processes, and analyse the pitch of the battery level graph.
I'm going to work on it right away, but we can do it faster if we are several persons to search.
What do you think ?

Don't think so... In my battery stats, we can read:
Android System: 40%
...
...
Display: 8%
Moreover, there is no such battery drain with 2.1 HTC roms, or vanilla 2.2 roms.

Wohaaa. Android System shouldn't be over 10%... your system is doing something strange. You could try monitoring CPU usage with System Panel (search the market) and try to locate the culprit there.
Otherwise, wipe and reinstall...
Or are you telling me this is the case on all Sense ROMs? That can't really be, there would've been mass panic in the streets and a lynching of all HTC CEOs
-edit- Although... did you leave the screen off nearly the whole time? And didn't use the phone at all? How much battery life did you get out of that charge?

Thanks for the advice. I checked in Android System Information, and android.process.acore is pretty much always at 100% CPU . Is it normal ?

Most definitely not. Should be practically idle most of the time. Try a reboot, and if that doesn't work, a wipe. Back up with Titanium Backup first and restoring after the wipe won't be such a pain...

Battery Issues

Our devices use a 4600 mAh battery and was wondering if anyone ever actually sees that figure? I've been struggling to get more than 4-5 hours use and started investigating why. The highest I've ever seen on a full charge is 4309 and the average is about 4260-4280.
Another strange thing I've noticed is that if I start playing a game with 100% charge and the tab plugged in I still loose about 1% per minute.
I've tried multiple roms and they all seem about the same as far as battery usage goes. Right now I'm back to the stock LG KitKat as it seems to perform about the best for me and very stable. I use the battery calibration app and was wondering is there another that might work better?
In closing looking forward to any suggestions or advise
Yep,same for me.battery life is terrible.have tried multiple roms, lucky to get anywhere near 4hrs.

I just tried an experiment, 100% charged, unplugged tab w/o turning anything on and I already lost 7% in 15 minutes !! I have Greenify installed and all non system apps hibernated and it still eats the battery.
My Sero Pro can sit all day and only loose 1%. If I could be sure I would receive a perfect unit I would consider RMA. But after reading all the issues with the screen problems I'm not going to take the chance. My tab is perfect aside from battery life.
I found a replacement battery on Ebay and am considering buying it to see if I have a bad battery. Something definitely isn't right.
I went to Mahdi rom as soon as I got my tablet about 2 weeks ago. This past weekend I did two battery tests.
These tests were done with wifi always on (medium signal strength, most google apps synced, google location reporting off, no twitter/facebook app, no greenify or any power management apps
If I left the display on indoors at auto brightness, it lasted for about 7-8 hours.
If I left the tablet idle (display off), it consumed about 3% per day (most of it consumed by wifi).
I would suggest trying the same thing with yours and see whether its a hardware issue. You can just do it for a few hours and extrapolate.
I've never calibrated my battery (drain until its empty) unless I notice an erratic drain from a constant task.
Mine is the same, not being used it drains almost nothing. Currently mine is at 49%, been unplugged about 12 hours with 2:47 of screen on time according to the battery stats in settings. 100% stock KitKat, bluetooth off. 15 minutes of screen off (with the screen on long enough to look at battery settings) and no % lost.

Same. If I leave it in standby overnight, I see zero battery drain (in 8 hours). I also tested a full HD movie (1080p) in full screen at 45% brightness and medium loudspeaker volume, and measured roughly 12-14% drain per hour, which suggests it could run 7-8 hours of movie playback on a single charge.
I'm happy with my battery usage. I think it's at least as good as my 2012 N7.
Here's a screen shot of usage just reading the other day. Keep in mind I mainly stop my tablet charging at between 90-95% as often as possible.

I'm with the OP as far as battery drain goes. Mine loses almost 10% in 12 hours at idle with wifi on. With wifi off it'll lose about 3-4% in 12 hours. I haven't done a full to zero test, but battery life is not that great on my personal unit. That is the only thing I don't like about it. I'm running idterror's v50018a ROM.

Then you have an issue with software you installed. It is neither the battery nor the ROM.
Well I went ahead and ordered the battery. I'm fairly confident it'll solve my problem. To Subtleone, with my tablet even with a barebones install I still have real bad battery life. It does not change very much between barebones and all my apps installed.

I don't think so. Even with a barebones install I get similar battery drain. But I knew the G Pad had terrible battery life going in as noted by every industry review I read prior to purchase.
Don't have any battery problems here (stock KitKat, rooted and most non-system apps greenified), get about 6 hours screen-on time at 70-100% brightness when reading books (wifi off) and an hour or so browsing/youtube'ing.
Are people actually going by unplug time until the device physically shuts down, or just what the battery bar claims? Battery stats are rarely 100% accurate, and there's protection measures built in to prevent a battery actually reaching 100% or 0% despite what the device says.

Except that I don't have terrible battery life. In fact, most don't. With KitKat (the one in my sig), with WiFi on, I get exactly 0% drain after 8 hours with it in standby (not actually off). Zero. Needless to say, I do not have any known battery killers such as the Facebook app.
At 45% brightness or so, I see about 13% battery drain after an hour of watching a 1080p movie in full screen with sound coming through loudspeakers.

Biggest battery eaters are apps like Google+ and Facebook.
UCCW and Weather apps too. Also having gps on.
There's some smashing eye candy apps for use and just for info on your lockscreen, they all seem to suck juice like no tomorrow. It's all the updating they do.
Best advice is to use something like wakelock detector to highlight your problem apps, then use greenify to get them to sleep properly. Also have your wifi set to only stay on when your tablet is plugged in.

To test a lot of theory I loaded up stock LG KitKat this A.M. . After letting it install and rebooting 3 times in 60 minutes I turned off WIFI and GPS and left it idle. In 4 hours and 12 minutes I was at 79%. Keep in mind when I left it idle the last time I was at 100%.
So at least in "my" case its most certainly not the software. My battery is scheduled for delivery 5/9/14. I'm hoping that will solve the battery issues.
Once I receive the new battery I'll update the thread. And thanks for the replies

My GPS is always on so I do not think it drains battery in any unusual way. I'll also add that it works darn well. I used the tablet for navigation in a car and it was impressive.
So to continue the theories I put my screen @ 50% watched 60 minutes of 1080p video via MX Player and lost 31%! That's totally bare aside from MX Player. So after seeing Subtelone's results I'm very convinced I indeed have a bad battery.
I know it's not a fair comparison but I've been using my mum's Acer W4 tablet as my 8.3 is being repaired for bad LCD (mura/spots). The W8.1 tablet actually gives me about 8-9 hours of web browsing time. Yes, it's got fewer pixels to push but bear in mind it is running the full fat Windows 8! I just think it's quite disappointing that the LG pad for me barely lasts 4 hours SOT when I mainly use it for web browsing.

Yes, something is seriously wrong with your battery if everything else is identical. My results are exactly as posted.

Battery life

Hi, yestarday, I've recived LG g3, I've switched to it, because my G2 starting to have very poor battery life, like 10 hours with 3h with screen on. I've searched the forum, and I notice that most of u have 5, 6 hours screen with 30 h or more of use, but for me it will be the same as on g2, maaaaby a little bit better, I've restored all my apps, yes, but non of the battery monitor apps showing that some app is using high percentage of battery, let me show some screen shots:

Some of them can ba inaccurate, because I've just rebooted my phone, but u see that my phone was on 12 hours (with about 7, 8 hours at night doing nothing and switching to 2G only) I had 2h and 35m of screen, and I didn't play any games, just browsing internet, and I have 46 percent left...
What could causing this poor battery life? It can be some app, that is not showing in battery monitor as a draining one? Or what could be the issue?
You need to root your device and install Better Battery Stats, Xposed Framework, and Wakelock Terminator. Then use bbs to determine which Wakelocks you need to terminate to save battery.
Using this method got my battery drain down to about 1% per 6h of screen off time.
I had to terminate 2 wakelocks to fix my battery life: NlpCollectorWakeLock in Google Play Services, and WifiOffDelayIfNotUsed in Android System.
Nyorbee, I might be wrong, because I own g3 only for a few days, but your battery life looks to be pretty normal to me.
The phone drains really slowly in standby, but 4 hours screen on time during a regular day looks to be quite ok.
Web browsing is particularly taxing on the battery, because of the high res display.
Do not expect the same battery as on G2, from my experience it is lower at least by 1/3 (I upgraded from G2 too).

Yeah, we will definitely need more than 10 minutes of data. You don't need to go from 100 to 0 though. Just get some data from a few hours of screen off time and show me both the kernel wakelock and partial wakelock info.
Edit: The screen off time doesn't have to be all at once. However, the easiest way I found to pinpoint my battery drain was to charge the phone fully just before bed, and unplug it overnight.
My sensor usage also strikes me as very high. Is there anyway to figure out what sensors are keeping the phone awake so much of the time?
I need to see your partial wakelock info as well. Those sensor readings alone don't tell me much. One thing to keep in mind: as you reduce the usage of pointless activities, the usage percentiges for other activities like sensors will rise, but this doesn't mean they are consuming more battery.
I also need to know how much of that time the screen was on/off. If your battery drained 70% in 10 hours of screen off time, it wasn't just your sensors, i can assure you.
You should also consider whether your battery is defective. If you get a good amount of screen on time with a full charge, the battery is probably OK. But if you can drain a full charge in an hour or two of heavy use, you might need to replace your battery.
Good luck!
Also try Wakelock Detector / Greenify - an amazing battery combo

Thanks for the response. Here are the partial wakelocks, captured at the same time. Unfortunately, I didn't capture the "Others" page, but screen on time was about 3 hours. Wake time was considerably higher than screen on time. I've rebooted the phone, in case something weird was going on. I see what these numbers look like tomorrow. If they still seem odd, I'll repost with all the relevant data.
Ok, here are my stats over night:

I've lost 4 percent of the battery doing nothing over maby 8 hours.
But the real problem is when screen is on, than I'm loosing 1 percent every one or two minutes. I'm out of juice in 10 to 12 hours with less than 4 houurs of screen. I'll show u my stats after full battery cycle. And I have two batteries, it's the same, so I guess this is not battery fault...
If your big drain is coming from screen on time, I suggest using gsam battery monitor to determine what's eating the battery. It's easier to read, and I find the stats a bit more relevant for screen on drain.
4% loss over 8 hours of screen off time doesn't seem bad at all, honestly. Its probably improvable, but not necessarily worth the effort.
What are you doing during your screen on time, and what screen brightness? I can burn a full charge in about 3-4 hours of Netflix at full brightness and full volume, but I get considerably more time if I'm browsing the web at minimum brightness.
Edit: I'd you don't use it, i highly suggest disabling or uninstalling google search. It's a prime culprit for wasting battery. I'm not entirely sure, but this might break google now, if you use that. Of course, google now is also a big battery waster.
Are you on WiFi most of the day? I'm just curious, is this a residential AP or are you on a corporate network? We recently upgraded our school to a Meru wireless network, and since then my battery will go from 100 > 50 in 8 hours, versus 100 > 80+ when at home, and at home I use it even more.
When I use BBS at work, the awake time is MUCH higher, and I also have very high sensor use.
This is mine with wireless on and sync on. Rooted and Unbounced. Removed some programs access to internet.
But when i use it it drains like normal.

I'm experience a huge draining in battery life just last few days. It was perfectly fine but not anymore. I have tried to factory reset with no luck. I have greenify at work.... I don't know how to read from better batt stats data so I was hoping someone here would be so nice to help me with that.
Here's the log file:
http://goo.gl/xD5HE0
I'm not trying to steel your thread. But since we have the same problem we are search for similar solution....
Is it safe to disabling the services of google? My phone has v10c rom and can at most 3h of screentime.
If you disable Google Play Services you won't be able to use the play store or some other google apps. However, you can use Wakelock Terminator to prevent it from draining your battery.
I have frequently read that some wireless networks can cause more drain than others. If this is what's draining your battery I'm afraid I don't know of any good solution. If you have a good data connection and/or unlimited data, you may get better battery life using that. Have you tried disabling mobile data entirely when you're in Wi-Fi range? I have very limited mobile data, so I keep it off unless I have a specific need for it. I do think this has improved my battery a bit.
Again, i suggest getting gsam battery monitor. It's free on the play store, and offers an easier display of what's eating your battery compared to BBS.
Edit: don't get discouraged if you have some trouble getting your battery life up to spec. It took me three weeks of googling and tweaking to get mine where I'm happy with it.

Galaxy S6 Edge Issue Log & Battery life tracker

I will be sharing battery stats & issues/crashes/freeze which happen while using S6 Edge. Some of the issues might be related to an app but its better to note nonetheless.
Please note that I have not rooted the phone & its running Android 5.0.2, build number is LRX22G.G925TUVU1AOCG.
Let me know if you want to know anything else & contribute with your own issues if any.
Please share a solution to any of the issues.
Issue Log for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (Starting 3/30/2015):
1. Google Play services has stopped/crashed at least 10 times & Amazon twice even though I am not using the apps.
2. Sometimes the phone feels very hot from the right edge, it feels as if hot air is blowing from the phone directly to my hand, kind of unbearable. This has happened twice till now. The phone was charging once.
3. Accu weather widget does not pin point your correct location even after turning the GPS to ON.
4. Hydrate Me app always crashes whenever opened.
5. People Edge is too high on the right side & only works when on home screen or in the app drawer.
6. Volume buttons are too far high on the left side of the phone.
7. You get to see lag/dropping frames 1-2 times a day, sometimes while unlocking.
8. The homescreen takes a good 3-4 seconds to display icons/widgets after unlock, this has happened twice.
9. Battery - I am really concerned about the battery, not good performance on day 1 but I suppose it will improve with time. I am attaching some screenshots for battery usage. Power saving mode was turned OFF. I will try with ON in a few days.
10. Edge notifications change orientation which makes them useless & there is no option to force the orientation.
11. There is a reason why the Samsung Wireless charger is round because the wireless charging does not work on straight pads, it keeps on starting & pausing because of the camera bump on the back so you have to keep the phone across to work.
12. The red light from the heart rate detector keeps turning ON & OFF at random all the time, even during night making it more uncomfortable.
13. Camera has failed once when I opened it directly form the lock screen.
The GOOD:
1. Double press the home button to launch camera is really fast.
2. Camera is quick & takes pictures amazingly fast. Check my other post with pictures.
3. Fingerprint scanner is pretty accurate, almost 99% of the time.
4. Touchwiz is light for the first time, you feel it in the performance.
5. The phone itself gives a cool feel in the hand, aluminum edges provide a good grip.

Yes these stats are with the OTA installed. Folks are saying that there is a wifi bug in 5.0.2 which drains battery.. Not sure when will 5.1 come.
The only thing that is consistently a problem is the battery.
The numbers of the last charge are with power saving mode ON.
I agree. I've had the phone for a day and the battery sucks. Albeit yeah it's been a day and I'm coming from a one plus one and a note 4 before it. I'm spoiled but it should be better.

what I meant is that t mobile will push some updates a day or 2 after april 10th, when more mainstream people have the phone and report these issues. Did you try uninstalling the system monitor app, and see if that helps the battery? I heard that helps alot..
I wont have my phone until monday, so I cant tell how anything is at this point, but I know things like weird lag, or bad battery is always present in the initial builds when most phones first come out. It wont take a general update to 5.1 for tmobile/samsung to address those issues..

No issues.. 1 weird issue is that there is no way to place a direct dial as a shortcut.. Really breaking my head on this but nothing
Thanks,
Prady
yeah, I read that doesn't work on stock right out of the box I know there are 3rd party apps that will allow that..I like to do that too..
I'll do more research and find something that will work..I have used an app for that before, I just cant remember which one it is right now!
Phone wont go into deep sleep, that is the cause of the drain.

If not going into deep sleep is an issue then it will not be fixed before 10th April at least. Till then quick top ups should do...
I am not having the wireless charging problems. I have a Koolpad. Is this with a case?

Mine is without a case. Actually the camera bump does not allow for an ideal connection so I keep it sideways but you have to be exact.

It has fast charging adapter that saves time to charge to the S6. I am impressed with it as the battery life is worth with great user experience.
This is my experience with Power saver off and screen brightness around 40%. I also had sync on with auto receive.

my phone had almost 70% deep sleep last night, but I still lost 27% of my battery over 8 hours, so that's not very good..

+1. I compared the battery usage between my S3 and the S6 edge, and the results were bad. S3 3% after 2 hours, S6 edge 13% after the same time.
I just did a full factory reset just to make sure there isn't' something fishy going on with the OTA update. How sure are we that there will be an update after 4/10? I'm wondering if I should go ahead and just send this back.

Huge battery drain

.Hello everyone,
Just got my G3 about 3 days ago, and so far the battery is going really bad for me.THis phone would consume the whole battery in just 6.5 hrs!!
I used to have Xiaomi Mi4 before it and it would easily make it the whole day -some times +18hr- on the same usage connections.
I've tried different roms and kernels, limited the CPU to 1.9GHz, set governor to powersave, set brightness to auto and then to 30% manual, and still all the same, nothing better! I don't play games or use huge apps, just facebook, whatsapp, 9chat, calls, and FaucClock.
On average, I lose +10% of the battery per hour, Is this normal for this device? The battery says it's 3000mAh but it's acting like it's 1450mAh!
UPDATE:
Yesterday I tried to drain the battery to 0% to charge it again by watching a Full HD movie. It consumed about 30% of the battery leaving me with 30%, that was on 02:48AM. Today I woke up at 9:00AM and there was 29% left, meaning it only consumed 1% in about 6hrs. using the phone would consume more than 5%/hr but the standby is getting really good and very stable. I'll be draining the battery and try to recharge it later hopefully it can get better than this.

Thanks for the reply. I really don't know how to read it, so I just attached some pics, I hope they're useful for you.
I have the same, if not worse, battery drainage. I got my phone(new) yesterday. Just 40 minute ago o was charging it and after i plugged out o saw immediately how the battery was draining more like a % per minute . I looked in the the battery section to see that it'll stay on for 3 hours and 40 minutes. Now i'm letting it play on YouTube till the battery is empty-empty , do a recharge and if that is not the case, maybe i just have a faulty battery and hopefully not a faulty phone. Although i looked at the apps that were used in stand-by(over night) and i sow that Google services was using 16% battery in stand-by , something that i never had like that. Yesterday when my phone arrived it had already pre installed Lollipop 5.0 . After connecting to wi-fi the software updated once more with a small file, something like 120-160 mb, i'm not sure exactly. Now it says that it has the latest update - 20h . I'l do a few full discharge/charge cycles and if that doesn't solve the issue it must be the battery or the phone. Either way i hope i'll not end up returning the phone for testing , the though is already infuriating me a little.

I just hope it's the first few days of the battery life and it would get better by time, but tbh this is the first time I see something like this!
I don't know if it helps but I had similar battery drain after I install a new update of Android. It happened after every update.
For me the solution was a full wipe.
After it I can reach ~2days with ~4hours SOT.

Use greenify messenger and whats up are causing all those wakelocks....
At the time i posted here(post #4) my battery was at around 60 percent playing YouTube for the first real drainage of battery science i've got my phone. Now it's at 12 % with 26 minutes estimated till complete drain. I mention i have the speaker on mute. If i had it on the drainage would've been a little faster. Anyway, after the drain i'll recharge the battery and let it overnight in stand by with the wi-fi on. Also the location will be enabled so the data connection even though it's somewhat deactivated by the wi-fi on status. I enabled also bluetooth and NFC although those are more dormant than active. It'll be setted just as i'm using it daily . Now it's 12:14 AM Eastern Europe time. I'll post here the finishing time of charging/letting it in stand by. In the morning (my morning time ) I'll post again the battery percent. I'll use the phone normally with a little bit of everything . Wi-fi will be on all the time, so the voice network and from time to time i'll "simulate" a carrier 4g/LTE data only usage(YouTube, FaceBook and Mail). I'll post againt the time when the battery will be depleted completely.
It's now 01:12 and the battery is empty. I'll charge it and talk to you in the morning.
Check the SD card. do you still have a battry drain if the sd card is in the Phone?
i had the same problem. i toke the sd card out and my Phone was normal again and no overheated Phone.
i formatted my card to NTFS and it worked.

I don't have an SD card.
You have stock firmware?? And try to install os monitor and it tells you witch program is using the most!
On stock rooted firmware
I also don't have an sd card, and of course i did a phone reset before recharging. I'm getting a little worried dough. Last night it finished charging after 1 hour and 50 minutes. I immediately started tu setup the phone with the google account , did a google restore . Also i forgot to tell that i'm on Orange Romania and i do have some bloatware but i disabled all of it just to make sure that those apps won't interfere with my test. Already my battery was at 85% before going to sleep. I mention that my google restore does not take to much time . When i woke up 10.45 AM my time( now is 11.23 AM) the battery was at 75 percent. I stayed a little on YouTube and just answered a 30 second call and it's down to 67 % now. I am getting aggravated. I'll call Orange support to tell the about the situation and i'll ask them if i can firstly try to fix my problem alone by rooting the phone. If they don't like the idea of rooting my phone i'll try a few more charges/discharges .
Install OS monitor!
I'll try it. Thanks! By the way now the time is 15:56 and the battery is at 66%. So it lost 2 percent in 4 and a half hours(stand-by).
Ps: now that i woke it up for writing this post, it's at 63%.
