Why Amazon/EBay cost more than B & H to purchase unlocked LG G7. LG G710ULM vs G710EM - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Why Amazon/EBay cost more than B & H to purchase unlocked LG G7. LG G710ULM vs G710EM
It's been almost 2 months waiting for G710ULM unlocked to be available at USA, at least yesterday B&H now sells Platinum Grey beauty. Eagerly waiting for unlocked bootloader so I decided US unlocked instead of European variant which is expensive etc 999$ - 1200$ (bull****), doesn't EBay/Amazon deliver to UAE/India as said by the website?. So a pre order 750$ from B&H has an acceptable pricing. Hate that UAE gets the dual SIM variant which cannot be rooted/bootloader etc. Is B&H respectable for ordering to UAE? So it's 750$+25$ (shipping) worth for around 5-7 days to deliver to your doorstep (UAE)? I'm not ordering now because I'm active on XDA/Reddit to check if the early batches have bottom light bleed? How's your LG G7 doing for you all specially the unlocked variants? I am still rocking an LG G4, always getting impatient when will be my next LG flagship, as I just skipped getting the LG V30 because LG G7 has more hype, making me feel excited. This is just the perfect 2018 flagship before the LG V40. LG for life..

Bhphoto has stock but gray only

I also want to buy this version very much, but LG didn't add this device to the unlocked bootloader list.I am worried that this version does not support unlock bootloader.

I have an unlocked black G7 ThinQ I just received from B&H yesterday. I paid $630 shipped. No light bleed at all.
I'm moving on from the Galaxy S9+. So far the G7 ThinQ is just as smooth, a lot lighter, and has equal battery life. My S9+ would occasionally bog down, requiring me to clean out the cache, memory, and give it a restart after only two months of use.

5.0" Optimus G Pro L-04E - Released April 4th

http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/next/l04e/index.html
Pre-ordering (Since Mar 28th) outright from NTT looks to be $730 USD, which is better than the eBay rates from Korea for the 5.5" Korean domestic Note-II clone. Requires a NTT line, I am not sure if this is true also in a store or dealer. Though if it arrives domestically (North America), we will see the awesome power of LG's brand value destroy resale prices, and make this a bargain of a super phone.
It seems GOOD, but also just seems like 2% different than the HTC One, Xperia Z/ZL, S4, and it's not blowing any of them out of the water per-say, just keeping up.

[Q] LG Optimus G Pro , 500$ brand new - legit?

Hi, I just found LG Optimus G Pro on ebay for 500$ , shipped from UK? You think this is genuine and legit version with warranty?
lol
Im not able to send links yet. just look on ebay for : G Optimus G Pro - 32GB - White Black (Factory Unlocked) Smartphone Brand New
thanks
$500 is awfully cheap. If it's a trusted seller it might be ok.
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda premium
It's this listing:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/LG-Optimus-G...=Cell_Phones&hash=item1c32e076c2#ht_967wt_963
I'm tempted to buy two, one for myself and one for my brother... but I'm also wary..
I asked the seller why so cheap, this was his response:
Quick info about my items: - 100% factory unlocked, 100% genuine LG Optimus G Pro in original sealed boxes. I have both colors: White and Black. - I have E985, E980, L-04E and F240 versions. You can use them with any sim card. - I have them in stock because the phones are bought directly from factory and also this is the reason why the prices are low. They all have 1 year international warranty. - I can send them with DHL, FedEx, UPS, Royal Mail or your preferred shipping company. The items are sent from my warehouse in Glasgow. - Free Customs. That is right... Free Customs. Not because your customs doesn`t charge ... it`s because i send in such way that you will not pay customs. - As you can see in my description: Pickup is not available at this time as i do not hold stock on hand for security and reliability reasons.
So yeah...I guess he/she is legit, also has 100% rating and seems newish, but has about 457 ratings.
International shipping with no customs doesn't sound legit to me...
I wasn't aware of an E985 version. What carrier could that be from? Also, there's a minimum order of 2 items.
E985 is for India, I think
does anyone know which version would be suitable for europe - UK? - E985?
I wouldn't even THINK of buying a phone on eBay unless the seller had feedback in the thousands with a feedback score of at least 99.8%. Just too risky otherwise.

Well looks like it might have been a scam?
The posting has been taken down:
Item 121112655554 is no longer available.
i wouldnt trust anything coming from england through ebay.. too risky and too many scams from there. trust transactions from america..
the ebay ad sounds too good to be true.. dont trust it. youll be sorry. sounds like a clone. my friend bought an lg optimus g pro on ebay.. turned out it was a clone.

Bootlooping H815 European - Next phone?

Bought a second had H815 w/ country code CZ & already unlocked bootloader about 3 months ago off an ebay seller. Have really fallen in love with the phone but it started the bootlooping last week. With the disappearance of any real subsidies, I like to stay MVNO (Cricket) & mid price-point on my phones after several years of premium pricing w/ Apple / AT&T.
Post-bootlooping I initially bought a hot air station & was gonna try the repair but decided against and selling for parts / repair instead. I've been reviewing phone options and just like when I opted for the G4 initially, it still appears there's no competitor overall (for the money) given requirements of awesome camera and removable SD.
In seeking the best shot at carrying me for a couple of years, my question is, if I'm moving forward with another G4, should I opt for another euro H815 from Handtec or find a late serial AT&T. I'm holding out for G5 release to see what that does to AT&T G4 prices which right now are at $462 with the H815 at Handtec around $400+ whatever shipping.. I'd like to see $300 at AT&T but then again Handtec option has 2 year warranty. With the Handtec option, is one pretty well assured of getting a very late serial (and, btw, what ARE the latest batch numbers).
Thoughts? I _REALLY_ love this phone and there doesn't seem to be another great option. Or maybe G5 but unknown performer..
Has anyone USED the EU warranty through Handtec ? Will unlocking the bootloader void it if dealing with Handtec? Flashing is less and less important to me these days..
Thanks!

Why is the price so low in Amazon?

LG G4 is only $312 in Amazon : LG G4
Where it's more than $500 in Walmart : LG G4 H815 and $450 in Bestbuy : LG - G4
I live in Bangladesh,Asia. Is it safe for me to buy it from Amazon(the one I mentioned above)?
It is about taxes and unlocked or locked device situation. For example your 312 Dollars G4 becomes 600 Dollars for me. Because in my country they apply very high taxes. BTW unlocked devices are cheaper than locked ones...
And see, NO WARRANTY!!!! Sorry I just noticed. Price is normal

LG V30+ up for preorder via B&H ($929.99)

I check the offiical LG V30 "Buy Now" page for updates on either Amazon listings or unlocked V30+ listings.
No luck yet with Amazon, but I do see that B&H has a listing for the V30+.
$929.99 with a "coming soon" note. No release date provided.

Apologies if this was posted elsewhere. I did a quick scan of the board.
It was but it was a bit buried in a thread, I can't find it again to credit that user. Thanks for putting this up more prominently though, it's helpful.

Mentioned and briefly discussed here, but not a standalone thread,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=74756966
So, thank you. I plan to other this as my 2nd LG device purchase for the $400 gift card.
Ahh, I'm sorry. Seemed thread-worthy. I scanned for a thread, but didn't search for in-thread mentions of the listing.
Still holding out for an unlocked V30+ preorder on Amazon.
But if we start getting close to whatever B&H's ship date winds up being without an Amazon listing going up, I may cave.
My poor 2015 Moto X is not long for this world, I'm afraid.

B&H Photo $820 price on the 64 GB LG V30 variant was cheaper for me than "$800" Best Buy LG V30 -- (really about $848 here in GA), once you factor in no local taxes and free shipping. That's even before any price matching.
Amazon also charges local tax.
So, probably going to buy from B&H Photo again, for the V30+. Plus they price match.
I still need to call them or email, to get the $20 knocked off.
I'm actually in the NY/NJ area, so B&H will ding me on taxes no matter what.
BB has the open market version? It's not US Cellular's?

No, it's not. It's the "open market" version which will get bootloader unlock.
LG did the same thing for the LG G6 US997:
U.S.Cellular sold the "carrier" version and B&H Photo, Best Buy, Amazon and other authorized retailers sold "open market" version of the US997, which got bootloader unlock.
Now this is the open market version of the V30+ -- which is available for pre-order. Whereas, U.S. Cellular has been selling their version since October 6.
Right. I want the open market V30+, preferably through Amazon or BB.
For some reason, I thought the BB V30 (not plus) was the US Cellular version.
Good to know it wasn't. Thanks!

Me too, and the sales tax thing is a moot point in Oregon luckily. Hopefully Amazon gets it soon, though the 110 dollars markup just for extra space seems slightly exorbitant. Amazon pricing could be a little lower but who knows. Will have to squeeze some more life out of this Nexus 5!

B&H Photo will price match. And they actually lowered the V30 initial price by $20 between preorder and actual ship date.
I wouldn't be surprised if V30+ ship price turns out to be $899 or something...
And if Amazon or Best Buy has lower price, they'll match that.

Just pre-ordered the "open market" LG V30+ from B&H Photo.
Also replied to the first order's email for the V30 and asked them for retroactive price match $20 refund, since Best Buy is selling it for $799 (plus tax).

That would be brilliant, hope that is the final price.
Getting closer... Finally the B&H Photo web page for V30+ is updated with specs. As expected includes "QuadPlay Headphones". Still no shipping date...
I guess the surprising price difference is mitigated somewhat by the inclusion of the updated headphones.
I wish there was a ship date. Day by day, my 2015 Moto X Play is degrading more and more. I may just have to buy the regular V30.

I haven't seen anyone review the Quadplay non-B&O earbuds. I should take a look around. I do think the price will come down. I think the Sprint V30+ was working out to $750 from Best Buy if you made the payments at one point during November. Sigh, I miss the Nexus days of getting great specs at a great price. I'm like ChazzMatt where without wireless charging I'm not buying, so the OnePlus and Pixel announcements were quite disappointing. I will say that updating my Nexus 5 to Paranoid Android's Nougat ROM has given it a new lease on life. It's still slow but I think I can afford to wait a little longer (even if I don't want to!).
Does the LG V30+ not have wireless charging? I thought it did?
Anyone want to take any bets on V30+ release date and when the US998 will be placed on the LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list?
1) European H931 released first week of November.
Placed on the LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list three weeks later.
2) North America "open market" 64GB US998 V30 released first week of December.
Not yet on the LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list, but it's not been three weeks yet...
3) North America "open market" 128GB US998 V30+ will be released when? First week in January? LG seems to want to S-T-R-E-T-C-H this whole process out.
When will both North America "open market" variants be placed on the LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list? By Christmas week or 3 weeks AFTER the V30+ is released? (Remember, took SIX WEEKS for LG to add the G6 US997 to the bootloader unlock list...)
Any predictions?

Sorry if I was unclear, but I was complaining that the OnePlus 5T and both Pixel 2s did not have wireless charging, which the V30 and V30+ do have. I don't often thank Apple for anything, but the inclusion of wireless charging in the new iPhones will make it ubiquitous. Google should never have abandoned it on the Nexus devices.

I'm betting you're right! But yes, this has been one long, drawn out process. People are still so used to buying their phones from carriers in the US so unfortunately us open market purchasers will always get the shaft for the foreseeable future. Although most people don't need nor care for open market unlocked phones that don't come with payment plans, so why not put it up for sale? It's obviously being manufactured and available. LG is simply throwing money away because a lot of people (people that don't care about wireless charging for example) have moved on to the Pixel, OnePlus 5T, etc. Who knows, maybe they are making enough from carrier sales, they don't care. Just frustrating to wait.

I know they lost money on me. I wanted TWO LG V30+ (for wife and myself), but was forced to buy at least one V30 before the December 2 deadline for the $400 gift card. I'll still buy a V30+ for the "second" purchase -- but yeah frustrating I couldn't buy two V30+ and get $400 off. But not released yet!
And yeah, I hate people are "settling" for inferior phones just because LG doesn't know how to release a new phone properly! They ANNOUNCED both LG V30 and V30+ end of August. It should have been EVERYWHERE by end of October. We're almost 4 months after the global announcement and they still have not released all the phones to major countries.

So what do you think so far of the phone? Apologies if you've already reviewed your experience elsewhere or were planning to, I can wait if that's the case.

Short version, love it. Using very slim Tudia case. I set it up last Sunday, been using it all this week. Very fast, very smooth.
Battery life is very good.
I keep my display at 70%. Lower than that, and the colors don't seem to pop. I tried it lower, like 60% and I could use it, but I like the overall look at 70%.
Small thing, but the fingerprint sensor is amazing. I barely touch it and it unlocks. Sometimes I accidentally unlock it and lock it back in a split second because it's so sensitive.
There's one email app I use that's annoying because it stays immersed when in the email list and doesn't show the navigation icons at the bottom. I have to force them up. But that's the app, not the phone.
Can't wait for bootloader unlock and root.
