Clear some doubts??? About Anti-Rollback - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Currently I am on 9.5.19.0 global stable with anti V4(as mentioned in some post). Now , can i flash global beta 8.7.12 or above ( which i guess are also anti V4 roms) ????
If answer to the above question is YES..
Then, if suppose, I am not comfortable with global beta 8.7.12 or above...CAN I flash back to global stable 9.5.19.0???
Thank you

Yes and yes. I did it myself.

Is there anyone more...who can confirm this???

yes as long as you stay in the ARB4 if you go 9.5.17.0 thats ARB3 then youll brick.
flash anything that is on ARB4.

my questions are similar to (kabir2014) questions., they might seem quite basic but I am getting confused the more I read about anti rollback.
1) Is it ok to go from Stable to developer rom, as stable Roms are normally “Ver 9” and Dev normally “Ver 8” which would mean going backwards to a lower Ver number?
2) I guess going from Dev Rom to stable Rom is ok as the Version number goes up?
3) I have read that it is ok to go from an Anti 4 rom to an Anti 4 rom, So are Anti 4 Roms identifiable in some way, or is it purely anything after a certain Rom Number...

@bryfly Stable roms have a version number, beta roms use a date string to identify them. (Y.M.D).

Hi guys
Can someone recommend a good stable custom ROM for Mi6-Global/International version, that is based on latest MIUI version (v9.2.2.0.NCAMIEK)?
I got lost in all threads here
Thanks

ROM's from Xiaomi.eu are custom ROM's based on official Xiaomi ROM's.
They're no pre-rooted but you can do it easily installing Magisk using TWRP like I do every week on weekly ROM's [emoji6]

Yo can also install Globe Rom MIUI based, very customizable. And it can be pre-rooted, give it a try.

Oh that's good to know
What's customized about them?
And what more you'd recommend - eu roms or miglobe ones?
Thanks

Trust me xiaomi eu rom is almost as stable as official yet feels custom enough.
All the other roms don't have loyal maintainer and they leave interest after publishing few updates. You can check every thread yourself.

Yet most of them are more stable than MIUI 9 and their offsprings....
People seem to want an update every single day and if there is not an update then the rom is death or something....
They seem to forget that most companies leave the phone stuck with old version of android for years..... For example Samsung, LG, Sony, Motorola, etc

Who says miui 9 is unstable? Don't talk without proof.
I'm using miui 8.1.25 and many older nougat versions also used, no stability issues rather you get annoying issues on aosp based roms
My only gripe to MIUI is the way they handle notifications. I mostly check notification from lock screen, sometimes replying from there. And I love how stock Nougat/ Oreo handles them. MIUI is just crappy in comparison. Unless there's something changes from the early days of MIUI 9.

Proof?? Just go to xiaomi forums abd miui.eu forums. There you will have a good amount of proof.
To begin with 8.1.25= Poor battery life, issues with calling using BT headsets among others..

Absolutely. I ditched MIUI and Mi6 for that reason only. I cannot understand why someone actually puts a lot of money and resources into making UI worse, while they can simply take AOSP and make everyone happy. On the other hand, all custom ROMs are disfunctional and as such useless, even though they would be the way to go as they are based on AOSP.
i didnt try too many aosp roms, but i tried crdroid 8.1 a few days ago. i couldnt find anything wrong, except for selinux permissive. i imagine all aosp 8.1 roms run in permissive for now? other than that, no wierd drain, camera works, phone charges. i only tesetd it for a day, but in that time everything worked

EU ROM's are always the best choice, even more than Stock, EU team always do a really good job sometimes fixing bugs from stock.
But if you want Mi-globe.com features, installing their ROM is the best way to have them, they're already integrated most of them.

Yes. This rom doesn't affect the bootloader thus neither the ARP.
I am on masik 2.3 on ARB 4 enabled so no need to worry about ARB

Hah, good joke! You can try it, but I will not recommend it.
(No, you can't)
I found similar thread here on XDA about Mi A2 & Mi 6X: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/miui-10-install-guide-t3844729
You'll have to replace mentioned files (*abl.elf, *prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.elf, *prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_lite.elf) but from MIUI meant for Redmi 6 Pro.
I didn't try that though, so let us know how's it go

There is already a thread for that here in A2 lite forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2-lite/help/port-miui-10-a2-lite-t3854100
... would be a good idea to focus there an close that double post.
(btw. instructions for A2 to 6X didn't work for A2 lite)

That site has links to both fastboot ROMs and full OTA packages (called Recovery on that site). All of them are stock images for this phone (so Android One).
For 10.0.16.0 there is no fastboot ROM, only a full OTA package. It's possible to extract the partitions from payload.bin and then flash them with fastboot.
