Samsung a3 2015 (a300fu) not finding network - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

Sorry, I did not find the correct forum for a Samsung a3 2015.
I have an a3 2015 that's not finding any network, I suspect the simcard en card reader is functioning because when I start the phone it asks me for my pincode and I'm able the login to the phone.
It has a valid imei, but when i try to call it says "unable the register on network"
Has anybody seen this problem before and knows how to fix it ?

That could be caused by, including but not limited to: Low signal strength (ignore signal bars, phones could select other MNOs and measure that), bands in coverage are not supported by the phone, tower or its backhaul is down for maintenance (or failure), IMEI/SIM (ask your mobile network operator anyway), circuit switching is not supported or out of coverage of the mobile network operator, the CSC in your ROM is not applied correctly for (packet switched) VoLTE (if the mobile network operator supports it on your device), antenna failure, the wrong mobile network operator is manually selected in the network settings, too much interference from neighbour cells on the same channel, bad reselection/handover, the signal has been 'echoed' too much, too far away from the tower for the timing advance, too far away from the tower for the RACH parameters.
Probably not...
Device is locked to LTE only. Or locked in some other way.

1. try to put your simcard on different phone. is it work? if yes, so your sim card reader is broken
2. have u reset your device to its default state? if yes and still the same, u have to reflash the whole rom through ODIN. if u haven't try it, do it now.
3. use another simcard on your phone, see the signal bar, is it there? if no signal, then the answer could be on the number 1 / 2.
4. what u did until u lost your signal?

I've tried the simcard in another phone, it's working.
Can the simcard reader be broken, even if it asks for a sim pincode ?
The phone was working until they pushed some updates, i've tried a factory reset but without success.
I've been reading on forums the problem could be a QCN file or a cert file ?
Is this also replaced when reflash the phone ? ( new a this, so I don't want to brick the phone.)
Where can I find the correct firmware ? Is it country related or just a300fu is fine ?
The thing i find weird about it is the phone is not showing no signal icon without the simcard insert (first icon on the link)
But shows a gray singal icon (like the second icon on the link but completely gray, without the bars).
http://newsandguides.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-android-notification-bar-icon-guide/)
update: when I turn airplane mode on and off, the signal icon is showing signal bars without a sim card insert.

Nobody that can guide me to the correct firmware ?

You know the phone's model. For the CSC (country),
Use the one in your phone, there are apps to read CSC or use "getprop ro.csc.sales_code" in a terminal emulator.
Use the one of your current location/mobile network operator, the displayed 'location the CSC belongs to' on CSCs might not be accurate. It might not apply correctly.
Use a different one, but some apps might be customized differently, there are indeed some cellular configurations but it's mostly higher features, not basic functionality (though there are some). It might not apply correctly.
For the version, try an upgrade or the same version. Open the stock recovery to fully apply the CSC. For downgrades, the number in the middle of the firmware version can't be reduced. If a downgrade causes the loss of cellular, wipe data or return to the previous firmware.
In most cases I highly do not recommend attempting to restore the EFS, flashing PIT, or downgrading to Lollipop on A 2015.
The signal bars being 'blank' after an insert might be because the tower is simply distant. Calls could work on another phone if the bands (or selected RAT on the phone - 2G/3G/4G) of a nearby tower or VoLTE/VoWiFi is supported. Appears without a SIM, or could be suddenly raised with the SIM, might be because the phone has selected other mobile network operators (not related to your SIM), for measurement and limited use... you can view the transition here *#0011#, there are a few others like this but it should be enough, it is MCC(country)MNC(operator), also called PLMN ID. For the signal strength, while your mobile network operator is selected, RSSI is the signal strength of that channel, RSCP and RSRP is approximately the signal strength of the cell not canceled out by interference, ecio, ecno, rsrq, sinr, rxqual are signal quality.
Maybe the spectrum of the previously good tower has been refarmed (the frequencies previously used on 2G is now on 4G for example), or anything above, or an update somehow broke band support.
Before modifying firmware, try moving around, to connect to other cell towers of the mobile network operator of the SIM, the current band should be in 0011, check which bands your MNO uses, the list of bands the phone supports are on the internet. If for some reason the plmn id isn't in 0011 there are apps to display it.

I found out that *#0011# gives you access to the service menu.
q0000 should give access to the network modes, but this is not working, is there an other code a should use to get access to the network modes menu ?

q0000 probably does not apply to Android Lollipop and above. On lollipop and above, it's *#2263# for band selection, marshmallow, *#2683662# (and others), for channel selection and all that, even fewer on Nougat, even fewer on Oreo. Root might be required, but those codes are available in some CSCs (mostly US carrier ones) for some devices without root. Compare *_keystrings.dat in /system/etc.
For the other kind of network mode, also known as rat (radio access technology), 2g/3g/4g, apps might be able to open 4636 without root, there's the full selection.

Tried both codes but without result ...
The phone is running Android 6.01

Not registered on Network
Hi, I have the same problem with my samsung galaxy a3 2015. I tried several ways to fix it such as flashing stockrom, factory reset And even then tried a custom roms but still have this issue. This issue can be only Fixed by replacing network I.C to a New one.
Its only the problem of network i.c .

[Solved] Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network

Solved for me @ post #5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10865272&postcount=5
I've searched, read, and called my mobile provider (3 UK) to no avail, so I'm starting a fresh thread on this issue.
Relevant details:
Nokia E65 + 3 PAYG sim = ok
HTC Desire unlocked (from T-Mobile) + 3 PAYG sim = "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network"
HTC Desire above, + O2 + Virgin sim = ok
From what I've learned this has nothing to do with Android os, ROM or RUU etc., and is purely a setting/sim/connection/whatever problem. Or is it?
I bought an unlocked T-mob-branded Desire which works with o2/virgin sims, but selecting my 3 network results in the "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network" message - yet same sim is fine in my Nokia. Which I cannot work out as that implies it's a combination of phone+network, surely?
When I first got the phone, unpacked it, 3 sim in, it worked, so I rooted w. Unrevoked it and it still worked, then I Nandroid-backup'd (which I still have), then I tried I think Cyan rom 6ish, and Oxygen 2 rc6 with a Goldcard in place [goldcard has nothing to do with sim/connection, just flashing, correct?], no service/not allowed on network; same with oxygen rom. So I nandroided-restored and still no luck.
I unrooted by RUU-ing with:
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00. 32U_5.11.05.27_release_signed.exe
(I'm on 3 so tried RUU_Bravo_H3G_UK_1.22.771.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.
02_2_release_127568_signed.exe to get a '3-rom'd phone' but I can't downgrade-which is fine by me)
so I'm back to Froyo 2.2 stock/whatever it's called, and no luck still. I mention this as I'm sure all this rom-ing has absolutely nothing to do with it but would like to be clear.
Has anyone any idea what causes this occur - not connecting that is - would 'disconnecting from network, romming, loading a new rom w/ sim, connecting and getting maybe kicked off' be the case? Or is this certainly a problem with the sim and this phone and the network; or can somehow a phone be unlocked only on certain rom and not transfer (certain this is not correct) to another - unbranding via goldcard + RUU 2.29..... has been done numerous times by people yet I seem to get this problem.
Long post, but if someone can definitely help it would be greatly appreciated - while comments like 'have you rebooted' are nice, yes, I have many many times, wipes settings, factory restored data, input apn settings, *#4636#*#* doesn't show anything I can really find of use (I tried selecting GSM only, WCDAM only, neither work) and I've tried manually/automatically connecting to network but am plagued with my "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network" message. Which ultimately makes my £300 phone as much use as an iPhone 4 being held wrong.
I cannot understand how my sim worked before on the same phone, but now after tinkering (nothing of which I think can effect this problem) it's not working again. Apart from my old Nokia.
goto *#*#4636#*#* and post your signal strength (in dbm) and LAC and CID values. It will also be good if you could attach output of logcat -b radio.
This is a well known problem with a no known answer.
Is the number stored correctly - i.e. it hasn't lost the '+' from a number starting 44?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I had the same problem two weeks ago when I returned from my holidays. I put in my 3 UK sim and it refused to connect with that same error. Sim worked perfectly in other phones.
Finally 3 UK advised me to do a factory reset on my from the Settings->Storage menu which resolved the issue. You seem to have done a full restore from a RUU which probably should be equal to doing a factory reset. But it's probably worth while doing it anyway in case the issue was with the /data or cache partition which for some reason might not have been cleaned by the RUU.
Well, I *think* I've fixed this (for me at least) - just waited a few days and tested to make sure it wasn't a 'ymmv' quick quip fix.
Basically, I'm on 3 - 3G only - and phone was set to 'WCDMA (3G) preferred' - with low signal/reception (-113dbm) it seemingly tries to get the 2G signals around (Orange-whom 3 piggyback[ed] on in low 3G areas; and O2) while changing to 'WCDMA Only' forced it to only try 3G networks - 3.
So, try this:
Key in, but don't 'call': *#*#4636#*#*
Select Phone Information
Near bottom, Set preferred network type to: WCDMA Only
Fixed it for me instantly. Three mobile UK still has -111dbm as it's best reception here but now at least I can connect to it
Let me know if this fixes it for you (clearly, if you're on a 2G-only network selecting GSM only (2G) may work).
checked your IMEI matches from *#06# and the back of the phone?
Yep, IMEIs match. I think it's (been) purely a network choice/connection issue, at least for me.
hi all. I was as usual using my xperia j but 3g signal was low so I installed signal booster app and after boosting signal the app asked with a popup window to enter network unlock password. I without thinking anything entered 12345 and after this it said wrong network password. since this happened I am getting error on Xperia J (st26i) that your sim doesn't allow connection to this network. I tried with many sims but no signal. It always shows all networks when search for network manually. But gives that above mentioned error when trying to connect to any searched network. I checked if my imei is blacklisted but there's no problem about imei. its clean. I flashed stock rom, custom rom but nothing helped. how to solve this strange error.
Mehul (nope imei does not match)

[Q] 3G Mobile Data Issues

Hi All,
I've trawled and searched but cant find anything specific to help me resolve my issue:
I have a Note 8 with 3G (GT-N5100) which I purchased from overseas as the 3G versions are available in Australia.
Since first receiving it I've had issues and had no support from the supplier. Initially it was locked in Factory Mode which meant Rooting and flashing the device. Once this was fixed I went out and bought a Mobile Data SIM to take advantage of the reason I bought it from overseas. However I cannot get any mobile data access.
I have tried the following:
Getting a new SIM
Have the carrier re-provision the service. This has been tested in a Note 10.1 and is working fine.
Tried different firmware.
Updated the APN's to no avail.
And today updated to 4.2.2
But I still have the following issues under device status:
Network: Unknown
Signal strength: -85dBm 14 asu
Mobile network Type: UMTS:3
Service State: Out of Service
Roaming: Not Roaming
Mobile network state: Disconnected
My Phone Number: Unknown
IMEI: 004999 and some more numbers so there is an IMEI
IMEI SV: 01
When I swap SIMs to different carriers the Data APN's change to match the carrier, so it looks like the SIM reader in the device is picking it up. I also have the signal strength meter in the top left.
I'm sure it probably related to the device not being sent out in an active state (ie Factory Mode) and will need to have a setting turned on to enable the modem, I just cant find a suitable reference to doing this.
Thanks for you help.
Simon
Looking further into it, as its showing UMTS 3 something is not quite right here.
I believe that I should be on UMTS 5 which is for Telstra Australia and using the 850Mhz network band.
What controls this and how do I change the bands?
** Further reading suggests that I need to change the CSC. After following a number of articles it looks like I cannot select the XSA CSC within the German ROM. I'm assuming I'll have to wait for a different country to become available that has Australia in it, does this seem correct or can I add CSC information without having it in the distribution file?

Can not connect to 4G/3G.

Hello there, I'm in need of your help again.
My SGH-M919 has a problem, it cannot connect to 3G/LTE (Not even EDGE). My carrier uses the 850 mHz band for GSM and 1900 mHz for UMTS, so the phone should be able to use them. The thing is, it doesn't. It only connects to GPRS and the signal is very erratic and weak (Usually 2-3 bars). Sometimes I get SMSs from my carrier saying that I missed like 5 calls when my phone never rang once. I live in a zone with good 3G coverage, so it's not the signal.
I'm currently rooted on Android 4.4.4 (NH7). I already tried selecting "1900 WCDMA" in the *#2263# service menu but that only causes the phone to lose all the signal (And it's a problem to change it back, without signal the service menu doesn't work and I cannot change the Network Mode in Settings).
I've tried to select "WCDMA only" mode before, but my signal just goes to zero (The circle with the slash) before changing back to "LTE/WCDMA/GSM (Auto connect)" automatically.
I also cannot use the Network Operators option. Using "Search now" makes it search for a few seconds before showing the message "Error while searching for networks". The "Select automatically" one shows the message "Unable to connect. Try later" and then connects back to my carrier (Movistar)
My APNs are configured (They did it themselves when I inserted the SIM, but I've configured them manually before). The SIM card works, I tried it in another phone and it got 3G immediately, I also tried another SIM card on the GS4, but the result was the same. Someone told me to upgrade to the latest firmware (NK2) while someone else told me to flash the MDL modem. (Is that even possible? I read something about KNOX blocking all downgrades after 4.3).
Since I couldn't find any direct solution to the problem, I'm recurring to you.
Thanks.
P.S: I didn't change the LTE Band Preference option in the Service Menu because the last time someone messed with it, my IMEI/Baseband went completely nuts, I thought the EFS got corrupted, but they magically appeared everytime I enabled the Airplane Mode (So I was able to select Automatic in the ServiceMenu and they got fixed). Also, I don't live in a LTE area although once during a very strong thunderstorm, I got 4G for a few minutes before going back to G).
*bump*
Any ideas?

I've tried with and without it, it doesn't make a difference anyway.
Does it show you have an ìmei # other than all zeros?
Don't post it just a yes or no.

My IMEI is fine, the phone connects to the carrier network but it stays on GPRS (and the signal is always dropping)
Update to full NK2 firmware and see if that will fix it

I'll try that later. Will I have to re-root and re-install TWRP after flashing NK2?
I have a similar problem with my M919 on the Tmobile network. Using the *#2263# menu I can not get mine to work on WCDMA (4G) either. I can chose GSM /LTE only and my phone works normally but no 4G signal. If I chose WCDMA I get no signal. I can see it trying to connect and immediately dropping the signal. If I choose any option with WCDMA included it has erratic signal and will lose the signal most of the time when I try to make a call. So basically I have the choices of GSM only or GSM/LTE only. Before I discovered the secret menu I was stuck with GSM only in the phone's settings. This has been going on for months. Tmobile changed my SIM card and it didn't help. I've rooted and unrooted my phone (using autoroot) and even tried different modems (even worse signals) and now am back to stock rooted NK2 firmware and modem. I have given up and decided to get another phone (not an S4). My wife's S3 gets great 4G signals in the same location by the way. I wonder if anyone knows why our phones can't use 4G. I am beginning to think it's a hardware problem but I'm way out of warranty on mine.

[NEED HELP] Signal Strength is 0 in SIM Status

I have been using Nexus 7 (2013) - Cellular for roughly around a year. I use 3G/4G/WiFi for internet connectivity on the tablet.
Since the past one week I have not been able to use the tablet with any 3G/2G sim cards. The tablet only recognises SIMs of a particular provider (lets say "Y" in my case) and that too only for 4G connectivity. This was not the case before and I was able to use SIMs of different providers and on different network modes.
If I insert a SIM other than Y's, the signal strength in about tablet -> sim status is shown as zero.
Also, if I insert a sim other than the "Y" service provider's and search for networks manually the tablet only shows "Y" service providers name and does not even show the actual sim providers/operator's name.
I have tried going to settings and changing the network modes, have tried *#*#4636#*#* settings - these have not worked for me.
Any help on the issue would be appreciated.
Thankyou.
UPDATE: It turns out that I have messed my tablets GSM/UMTS Band modes in the Testing Settings.
I have been able to restore EDGE connectivity on my tablet. However 3G still does not work. I am guessing it's because of the band mode options available to me on CM14.
Tried full reset but it didn't work.
Any help on how to restore my tablet's band mode and get back full 2G/3G/4G connectivity would be really great.

Network 4G, E okay, but no 3G..

Hi,
Anyone have any ideas on what the issue may be with my UK (EE) G4 ?
H815
Android 6.0(MM)
SW vers V20b-2340-30
Baseband Version - MPSS.BO.2.5.c3-00101-M8992FAAANAZM-1.31581.1
I get 4G no problem and 'E' (not sure about others) but cannot get 3G.
I think 4G is 2100 and 3G is 1800... would these be different chips in mobile so it's a hardware or aerial issue?
I've tried setting it to .2G/3G only' in normal Settings - and I get no signal.
I've also been in the test/etc menu [ accessed via *#LGMENU#*815# ]
. field test / mobile settings / Network Mode - and that's set to AUTOMATIC
. field test / mobile settings / RAT Selection - and that's set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto
Anything else I can look at / modify (of course mobile out of warranty a few weeks ago!)
I could try a factory reset it I have to or I could just blow the old EE -F/W and forget about it..
Just wondered if there was anything else I can look at/change quickly.
HISTORY:
I used to use wifi calling (EE signal at home non-existent) but after getting motherboard replaced (boot loop issue), I ended up with the 'standard' FW which doesn't have EE-Wifi extension.
As a result EE sent me an extender which doesn't work with my mobile as it's 3G specific(?).
My son can get calls through that so I know it's my phone that's at fault (in fact EE examined the log for my calls and said they can't see any recent use of 2G or 3G on my mobile at all).

the biggest thing I tell people to look for is what ever carrier you are on make sure all the carriers bands support 2g 3g and 4g of device A lot of times this is a major cause. Of said issue. I run into this a lot using Verizons devices on AT&T
Well it used to work...
Maybe I'll do a complete factory reset to see if any software's affecting it...

That didn't make any difference..
Still stuck with no 3g or 2g access.
Guess from the lack of responses that it's likely to be a hardware fault..
..
the shield that covers SOC seems to be culprit for me, when I reseated that thing I was able to get some 3g connection compared to nothing.
Thanks, worth looking at
Either you changed your modem, or your provider is no longer using 3g
My provider is dropping 3g in certain areas in favour of 4g....so I'm not able to go back to 3g if the area already has 4g
Might not be answer your are looking for
But that's my 2 cents
Moved to Nougat and updated modem, no improvement. I Swapped networks (tried 3) and all the same problem so guess a hardware issue..
Just bought V30 so G4 will be my backup, so will live with it I guess.
Thanks for the ideas everyone.
