Unable to unlock Redmi Note 5 global variant - M1803E7SH - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

I am unable to unlock my bootloader, I have waited the 360 required hours to unlock the bootloader. I get to 99% on the Mi Unlock program and get an error message. The messages I am getting from the Mi Unlock program are "Current account cannot unlock this device" and sometimes I get Chinese characters which translates to "Parameter error". Also, another issue I have sometimes is when I execute fastboot commands in bootloader mode it displays "Press any key to shutdown" and then no fastboot commands work. I am trying to unlock on Windows 10 and my device is connected through a USB 2.0 port and my drivers are installed correctly.

Use this version of MiFlash http://bigota.d.miui.com/tools/MiFlash2018-5-28-0.zip and this version of MiUnlock http://xiaomi-miui-ota-3rdrom.ks3-cn-beijing.ksyun.com/rom/u265827351/3.3.525.23/miflash_unlock-en-3.3.525.23.zip

I am already using that version of MiUnlock, but I'm not quite sure why you linked MiFlash as I am just trying to unlock my bootloader.

Can't help you but from 9.5.19 anti rollback has been implemented and for getting unbricked from Qualcomm download mode you would need an authorized Mi account from Russian moderators and this version of Miflash. Most probably your account has not been binded correctly in order to unlock bootloader. Try factory reset and try again. Good luck.

UNLOCKING Bootloader of Mi MAX

I am trying to Unlock bootloader of My Mi Max from last 4 days but always getting an error "Couldn't Verify Device" and on.
First : I want to root my phone as soon as possible and clear this Mi Junk but after watching this drama I am losing my Patient.
Second : any other alternative for Unlocking bootloader for Mi MAX.
If anybody has unlocked there Mi Max with Mi Unlock with there MI ID without any error??
Please Help!
UPDATE:
Bootloader was unlocked using Official method, Thanks @nijel8 and @avi3230 for Replying!
Make sure you are on official miui and on some fake vendor rom. China dev is preferred but not necessary...
Just visit this thread.
No need of unlocked bootloader for rooting.

I am having issues with my mi max (Hydrogen) i have been granted unlocking rights, but the unlock tool alway states my mi device isnt supported??
Initially, i had a few issues with drivers on Windows 10, but i have patlrtially sorted this. And i can now connect with MTP, But i still can't unlock or connect to the Mi Pc suite?
Any help with this would be welcomed.
T.I.A.
I had the same trouble, just look up your windows device manager. Mi Max should be recognized as "Android ADB Interface" while running fastboot mode.
The second problem can be with Xiaomi services. If you still getting verify error, try to use some of their services, like cloud, theme shop etc and than try again to unlock.
I was unlocking my hydrogen on global stable 8.0.1.0 successfully.
PS: the phone goes into recovery 30 seconds in total. On my previous XRN2 it was something like promptly.
I recomend you update to the latest Stable Official Miui Rom before trying to unlock bootloader, and you will find a new option in developer options near to the "Enable Unlock OEM" to asociate your Mi account, now you won't get the "50% error" anymore.
I have finally unlocked the bootloader tonight I signed into the mi unlock tool, with my mi max connected as normal. (not in fastboot mode) After clicking sign in, i got a message to turn off and do the normal vol- and power to enter fastboot mode. I then got the unlock prompt which i was waiting so long for. In the MI forums, they are all saying enter fasboot mode first before connecting to the unlock tool, but i did it after connecting just normally., Hope this helps anyone that is having the same issues connecting.
Still can't sign into my Mi Pc suite though? Device manager is stating in portable devices that MI MAX is connected, but has i yellow triangle! when i enable usb debugging, i get a prompt from pc suite to "connect my device via usb" but im clearly connected? when usb debug is off, i get no prompt from pc suite.
After i right click to update drivers on MI MAX in device manager, i get a massage from windows that " A service installation section in this INF is invalid" and from PCsuite stating "looks like your missing some drivers" Really??
I have tried updating with different ways in device manager, but i get the same results, connected to windows, but no connection to Pc suite which i need for backing up my files before flashing
Any help with this is very welcomed.

It's a known official fact straight from Xiaomi PC sh*t don't support anything after Android 5.x. Quick search would've saved you time and troubles...

Virtually impossible to unlock bootloader

Guys, I need some help to confirm the only solution I found for my problem, or if I can still try other solutions.
I bought a Mi5s that already came from seller with the global stable rom. I asked the official bootloader unlock to Xiaomi and has received authorization by SMS. But the unlock application stucks at 50% saying that the device being unlocked is different from the one authorized on Mi account. I looked for some solutions like deleting all the devices in the page i.mi.com, leaving only the Mi5s, but I did not have success. Other solution is flash chinese developer rom
Another solution is to flash Chinese developer rom, to confirm unlock of the device on the developer screen and then to use the official tool unlock. But I didn't find any way to flash the developer rom. I've tried using Chinese PC Suite, fastboot mode, MiFlash, and all says that the rom I am trying to flash (Chinese) is different from the rom of the device (global).
The only solution I found is to buy a deep flash cable and flash the developer rom in EDL mode. Or hope to launch the global developer rom for Mi5s, which so far we have no prospect in the short term.
Do you suggest I try some other solution? Thanks in advance.
Try logging into mi cloud with your mi5s using the same account you used to asked the request to unlock.

Already had done it, no success
From http://en.miui.com/thread-482266-1-1.html
Under settings/additional settings/developer options, click Mi unlock status. Click add account and device. Your device will now be automatically added to your Mi account.
Next, enable OEM unlocking and USB debugging under developer options.
Then connect your mobile to the pc or laptop while on fastboot mode. Unlock again. This time, it will be successful!
Same problem. Can't unlock my Mi 5S on Global Stable firmware (V8.0.3.0). And can't flash to China Developer firmware.

According to this:

You should have that parameter no matter you are at global or not, but if you don't you should flash a developer version, instruction at the same page.
Before you say "i can't flash developer rom", did you tried the updater app to flash it?
Force flash your rom using special cable to enter fastboot to install. I dont know its detail, but the installation called Deep Flash using deep flash cable sold on ebay

I had similar problems and I was also trying to figure out what to do to unlock bootloader on Global stable rom. The amount of people having the same problem where unlocking app stops at 50% is overwhelming ,judging from the comments found on google, but the info what is the actual problem is next to none. Suggested solutions looks to me like voodoo and most if not all probably doesn't have any impact on successful unlocking. As the Xiaomi unlock app is just a wrapper for fastboot executable I've checked what kind of commands are being send to the fastboot when you click unlock here they are.
fastboot getvar product
fastboot getvar soc-id
fastboot getvar soc_id
fastboot getvar board_version
So I've checked if I will actually get any info from bootloader if I send those commands manually, and with no surprise I didn't get any. So this was the problem at least in my case. Some kind of connection problem I'm not sure where exactly the fault is, probably drivers but try to issue those commands manually from command line I can bet you will not get any info from the phone. What to do if that's the case remove and reinstall drivers, this is what has worked for me. Good luck
Had the same problem. Got it solved today. the bad news you need a deep flashing cable, good news you can make it yourself.
Here is the guide:

I have unlocked 4 mi phones with no difficulty. Some of them with fake/seller ROM. Once you got permission make sure you have done all things right before preceding to Unlock. Usually it's all about loading the right driver for Xiaomi phone. Using default windows driver is not working. As it's not Microsoft signed driver you have to start windows in insecure mode.
You have to login in your mi account both on PC and on phone with SIM card ind.
Check that phone is verified settings/mi account on your phone.
Best luck

Follow the guide that I posted to make the cable(first link), install all the drivers and software needed (second link).
After successfully putting the phone in deep flash mode you need to update Qualcomm drivers (under device manager it must appear as com3 or com10 port after that).
Then use Mi Flash tool to flash Chinese dev rom (http ://bigota.d.miui.com/7.1.20/miui_MI5S_7.1.20_229fa68558_6.0.zip). If the flash fails the first time reboot the computer and try again.
After that sync connect your MI account to the device, enter Dev mode and you will find OEM Unlock option.
Not easy but it works.
Good Luck!

I tried all the possibilities described, that do not need flash developer rom using a deep flash cable. I changed drivers and everything, no success.
In time, I already ordered a deep flash cable here in Brazil. For my part, I thank all fellas who tried to help me but gave up trying anything else. As the title of the topic, my device is currently virtually impossible to unlock in the normal way.

I have same problem to unlock Mi5s before but then realize that you need to update driver on your PC from Keadcom (or samething) into Marshall London Bootloader and it success.
Now my Mi5s uncloked officially.
I just use same Mi account which has permission to unlock my previous device which is Mi5.
No need deep flash cable, just normal cable can do.
Hope this help.

Unfortunately this this did not help. My assumption is that 8.0.3.0. Global stable needs ROM-internal permissions, which are currently missing. (In fastboot mode ADB is able to communicate to the phone, so it is not a driver issue.)

I tried to go through the official route to unlock my Global Version Note 5, but when I log into my Mi account, there is no option for "Apply for unlocking permissions", it's greyed out and so it's straight to the Mi Unlock tool. Have I missed something?
I was trying to find out if it's straight forward to lock the bootloader if I should so choose, but when I search all I'm finding are results for people with Global ROM's not the Global Version.
I'm new to Xiaomi but I've been messing around with modding phones for 5 or 6 years now...

Can anyone help me? Mi Max 3 can't be booted nor flashed anymore..

Hi I have a big problem with my Max 3.
I ulocked it and then I flashed it with the official Xiaomi Flash App and clicked the 'clean all and lock' button. Unfortunally I flashed a bad ROM.
Now I can only boot to recovery (This MIUI version can't be installed on this device) and Fastboot.
If I try to flash a ROM I see 'Erase not allowed in lock state'. I tried to unlock it with fastboot, I receive 'Token verify failed' I tried with Mi Unlock: My account is accepted and when I click Unlock
I have 'Current account is not bound to this device' But I can't bound it because i can't boot it!!
I would be very, very happy about a solution for this mess!!!
Thanks everyone who has i idea!

Are you sure?
I had exactly the same. Locked my device when flashing (!!!?) then error while flashing, format the phone and everything was gone, locked bootloader.
After a search of 2 months I found out it was possible to repair the phone.
You have to open your phone, not very hard..follow this video https://youtu.be/dYlKG3EcpHg
Then contact the guys from S-Unlock https://s-unlock.com. I did it too, and they are thrustworthy.
You have to test point your device, https://youtu.be/IYWItgq2f9E until the Quallcom driver appears in your devicelist.
Then contact S-Unlock via chat. It can take up to 2 hours before the respond. The service cost 25 dollar for installing new Rom.
They log in to your computer via Teamviewer, they install MiFlash and Rom.
They have a special restore account. Without this account your Max will never work again, no need to try.
For 25 dollar my Max3 is working again.

Bootloop and unable to reflash stock ROM

Hello,
I have a Redmi Note 8 pro (China version). I unlocked the bootloader and flashed the Global ROM. Unfortunately, the phone didn't reboot and it is now stuck with message "this ROM can't be installed on this device".
I realized afterwards that many other users had the same problem. Now it is impossible to flash the chinese Rom again (I get the CRCLIST flash error).
I believe my only option now is to re-flash the China stock ROM using the EDL method and an authorized Xiaomi Account. Can anyone help me do that?
If anybody has other suggestions, that would be really helpul.
You may flashed lower version of miui. If you can enter into fastboot mode, flash with latest China miui, then install TWRP, then use TWRP to flash global rom. I used twrp here and it works for my china phone, now im on global rom.
Just my 2 cents:
1. Always flash stock ROM via fastboot. ALWAYS use option "clean all". NEVER use option "clean all and lock"
2. Make sure the ROM's folder path is not containing space characters. Several stupid errors can come from this.
Ex: C:/this_is_the_rom_path
3. Use USB2.0 port from your PC. Better plug the device into USB2.0 rear port.
I couldn't make any of my USB front ports to work. Only the USB2.0 rear port.

Unfortunately I believe that's precisely the mistake I made... Now the bootloader is locked again and I cannot unlock another time because I have no access to the phone. Mi Unlock Tool says "please add your account in developer options > Mi Unlock Status".

Now the bootloader is locked again and I cannot unlock another time because I have no access to the phone. Mi Unlock Tool says "please add your account in developer options > Mi Unlock Status".
Click to collapse

I remember mi unlock tool will work in fastboot mode. I recommend you to use mi unlock tool which you used first time to try in fastboot mode. It may say: you need to wait xxx hours, then you have to wait. Or it may unlock directly like first time. Since you unlocked first time, it will be bounded into your Mi account already.
If you have fastboot mode available, do NOT too worried, more likely to you have it back. using SP Flash tool with paid auth account is last step.
Could you fix it?
