Moto G6 Play XT1922-9 Firmware Download - Moto G6 Play Questions & Answers

I need the firmware for my unlocked XT1922-9. Is there a website I can go to? I'd like to adb sideload it as the bootloader is locked.

How can your unlocked device have a locked bootloader?
EDIT: How about his?

Do you think the AT&T version would work?

As far as I understand the XT-1922-9 is the AT&T version explicitly, so it should work. The linked image files have version OPP27.91-62, yours is OPP27.91-35, so I guess it contains the next security patch already.
Did you try to do a regular software update?

Although, what is weird is the fact that the phone is "retail." Not "ATT."

I'm trying to get the available update. Turns out all I had to do was turn on airplane mode, clear data and cache for Google services framework, and turn airplane mode off again. I then got updated.

Here's what I did:
1. Turn on airplane mode.
2. Clear cache first, then data of Google Services Framework.
3. Turn off airplane mode. Wait a couple of minutes and the update will come through.

Odd, I don't even see that firmware listed in the jeter firmware thread. Not really sure what the problem is but you could always flash the latest firmware yourself if you wanted:

Be warned it will wipe out your data so make sure you have a back up!

Not necessarily I bought my Moto G6 Play directly from Motorola Factory Unlocked and its the XT1922-9 RETUS (32gb internal, 3gig RAM) not from ATT or anywhere else

Pixel XL 2 - "Your device is corrupt" after OTA.

Took an OTA and now whenever I turn the device on it says in red letters: "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and may not work properly". I can still boot into the OS normally. I can still access fastboot. I can still access recovery. I have done many searches and people keep saying to relock the bootloader or unlock the bootloader and flash stock firmware. There's no way to do either because this Verizon variant is locked down like Fort Knox. I don't understand why the bootloader has to be unlocked to flash STOCK firmware straight from Verizon. Smh. Anyways, does anyone have any ideas. about how to get rid of this message?

You could side load the Google OTA image and see if that fixes it. Or just wait until next week and see if the March OTA fixes it. If your device is working properly, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

While I haven't done it personally, I've seen several people do just that from stock recovery. At worst, the install will fail and nothing will be changed. Unlocking the bootloader is mainly for flashing factory images and rooting, not OTA's. Just follow the instructions from Google and see what happens. In your current situation, you really have nothing to lose.

So I can flash that with no radio issues? I thought OPM1 is google, OPM2 is Telus only, and OPD3 is Verizon only? I have a Verizon P2XL
Edit: I think I've found my issue. The person who had the device before me must have sideloaded 8.1.0 (OPM1.171019.018, Feb 2018)" to this device and that may be the reason for the error. I am thinking because that's not the Verizon P2XL firmware but the Google P2XL device firmware.

I bought a Galaxy S7 from this scammer on craigslist. It won't boot and was showing "an error has occurred while updating the device software". I did volume down+power+home buttons and it comes back to recovery mode. I selected factory reset and few other options, I just get "failed to mount /system (Invalid argument )" message. Can someone please help resolve this issue? I believe I need to flash with factory image but I don't know the history of this phone. I'd really appreciate some help.

Thanks for your response. I found some video that explains how to bypass google lock (FRP Bypass). I had to load a combination firmware that allowed me to change the setting and enable developer mode. after that, I loaded firmware for this phone but it's in a reboot cycle. phone boots up fully, welcome screen, I start setting up the phone and BAM.. it reboots and that viscous cycle repeats.
Please advise.

As far as I know, you must be on the Sept. patch. So, you must downgrade firmware first. It also appears to be for the Aljeter only, so I don't know if it'll work on the Jeter.
These installation steps need confirmation. I am not responsible for any bricked devices.
1. Downgrade to OPP27.91-143 first.
2. Extract gpt_main0.bin from the ota zip and flash it in fastboot.
fastboot flash partition gpt_main0.bin
3. Reboot to recovery, and apply the OTA update from your sdcard.
4. Let the system restart. It'll take about 10min.
works just fine. followed the instructions exactly and I'm on Pie now. and already loving it. one thing: at the update checking screen, it says my device is no more ellegible for updstes...

I'm on the Jeter and I can't install it. (xt1922-7) The bootloader rejects the gpt file, which is needed to expand the recovery partition. I'm still searching for Jeter specific firmware.

Yes, that should be correct. I think it's both country and carrier dependent. I'm in the US on Virgin Mobile. I know that I can flash any xt1922-x firmware except things related to the bootloader. Those must be Sprint branded or they fail. I can't get Sahara to run on windows 10, otherwise I think I could make them flash anyways.
In my case, I can give a flash in GPT, but when I install update via recovery the following error is displayed:
E: Failed to verify whole-file signature update package verification.
E: Signature verification failed
E: Error: 21
PS: JETER XT1922-5.

Android 10 Has Begun Rolling Out For The Moto One Vision In Brazil!

This time it's the real deal and not a beta/mfn version.
The update comes bundled with the January 2020 Security Patch and has the build number QSA30.62-24
As usual, the update is rolling out in batches... As by far, only users of the first batch of devices have received the OTA update.
The other batches (02/2019 and so on...) are still waiting in line.
My phone's batch is 06/2019... So I'll have to wait a little more
EDIT: As Of Today, January 13 2020, the OTA update, versioned QSA30.62-24 is out for All Users of the Motorola One Vision In Brazil using the Retail Software Channel (RETBR).
I just updated my phone and did a hard reset to start clean.
how do you know which batch is your phone?

It is, but someone would have to capture the OTA Zip file first and upload it on the web.
Hope someone here does

I have downloaded it. But Am afraid of doing something wrong and bricking my phone.
As this is an original image I presume I can flash it without unlocking the boot loader right?

From Lolinet's mirror. However I tried opening it in RSD Lite. No Go. Gives an error.
Image seems to be corrupt. Luckily I didn't do anything to my phone.

Did you try redownloading it? Would you be able to send the mirror link as I couldn't get the website to even find an update for me

Yes I downloaded it a second time. Both times RSD gave an error.
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/kane/official/RETBR/ -- Mirror Link
Its the last file there.
But I do advise caution.

Alright thanks, how long do you reckon it'll take before the XT1970-3 will get the update anywhere so it could be flashed?

That's wrong. I've flashed retbr and retin to my xt1970-3 without problems.
Bootloader unlocked though.
Now I've just updated to A10 and I can say that I got it rooted with same method as on pie, so twrp and magisk still works.

Can't update AT&T G8

I recently bought an AT&T G8 on eBay and no matter what I try, I can't update it. It's still on the factory update. I've had an activated AT&T SIM in it for several days, tried using other SIMs, factory resetting a few times, but I still get the same error that says it can't update or there's just no update. I've tried calling tech support there and going into a store, but they were out of ideas too. Does anyone have a link to any update to try installing or any ideas for how to get it to update?

This works on the g8? Given the lack of options we have with being able to recover the device I really don't want to brick.

It will not brick your phone. It's very simple. Get the kdz for your at&t model. Install a dev patched lgup and flash.

Not to a complete noob here, I've been out of the flashing game for a while but I haven't been successful in finding any online images for the at&t model. Any tips on finding one?

That's my understanding as well. I'm getting the run around from at&t, cricket, and LG with them pointing the finger at each other playing the blame game. Seriously annoying... The G8 is a beast but if it's like this I might just stick with my pixel 3a. I appreciate the info though from everyone.

That's the us open
so has anyone flashed this firmware manually via LGUP to their AT&T g8 and was successful? does everything get wiped?
So I've bought a couple of these att LG g8. The problem was that I am on cricket so no updates. This has been a fool proof way I've found to get the updates moving.
I put in an activated (I didn't add any money to my att account) att sim, 10 bucks from Walmart. I issue a factory reset and skip all setup (except connecting to WiFi). Check update as soon as I am through setup. If it works great ,if not repeat. It's worked on 3 phones so far.
