Flashing Treble ROM over Xiaomi.eu and bootloop to recovery - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Questions & Answers

Hello, I wanted to try PixelExperience 8.1 from AndyYan and after flash, every time I tried to reboot to system, it keep booting into twrp. I am at Xiaomi.eu Miui10 8.8.16, and this is what I did step by step :
1. wipe data, cache, dalvik (factory reset)
2. flash 8.4.19 global firmware
3. flash rom
4. reboot
I tried to wipe system + factory reset, and then proceed from step 2. with same effect. my twrp: 3.2.3-0. What do I did wrong?

You need a pc for transfert your backup and after to :
- format data
- wipe all
- reboot recovery
- copy your rom and flash
- reboot
And need the right recovery

Stuck in Twrp reboot loop

I recently installed twrp and for my moto g5 then I did format data later on went for reboot system then I found no os installed so I installed a custom Rom later rebooted the system then I got stuck in twrp loop. I went through all the solution but it did not work so please help. Thank you
If you're on stock rom you need to remove dm-verity for it to boot (read faqs on twrp thread!)
For custom rom flash it correctly
Wipe
Advanced wipe
Wipe system data cache
Install
Select rom zip
Select gapps zip
Select root zip (optional)
Wipe cache
Restart
What architecture rom and twrp are you using?

[HELP][SAGIT] how to back from custom to miui.eu

Hi you guys
Can anyone tell me how back from custom rom to miui.eu, how to do that?
I had Resurrection Remix Oreo RR-O-v6.1.0-20180817-sagit-Official.zip and I wanted update to RR-O-v6.2.1-20181017-sagit-Final.zip.
After update I have all issues: can not unlock phone after power on, reboot to system almost everytime.
Newest TWRP twrp-3.2.3-4-arian-sagit make a big mess with my time zone and all next attempts to install any version of twrp take over the same time zone error
I came to the conclusion that I think I will return to miui.eu
And forget how to do that
1. Try:
- Boot into this TWRP
- Wipe system, cache and dalvik cache, art, data
- install xiaomi.eu_multi_MI6_8.10.25_v10-8.0
- reboot to system
Code:
No OS Installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?
2. Try:
- Boot into this TWRP
- Wipe system, cache and dalvik cache, art, data
- format data - write yes tap ok
- Boot into this TWRP again, copy rom from pc
- install xiaomi.eu_multi_MI6_8.10.25_v10-8.0
- reboot to system
Code:
No OS Installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?
as a result, I have a clean phone with no OS and recovery twrp-3.2.3-4-arian-sagit
I format data and then wipe all, try that.
that no os msg ur getting, if u can get miui to boot then it doesnt matter. give it a few min after you reboot even if it says there's no OS, mby its worth the try.

Foa this is the wrong place, use the Question / Help section.
Sad to hear you can't use the final RR build, which works just fine. Also my twrp build inst nuking the time, it isn't working on all new builds.
To go to miui you just need to do the steps from your try 2.

After flashing the sybria 9.0 rom into my mix 2, my phone stuck in the fastboot mode.

After flashing the Syberia 9.0 rom into my mix 2, my phone stuck in the fastboot mode. Every time I tried to reboot my phone, my phone will go right into the fastboot mode. I could get into the TWRP, and I perform the 'wipe' serval times.
This is what happens on my phone:
wipe the system---- flash the rom ------ reboot ----- fastboot mode
I don't know what happens with my phone. Pls help me guys:crying:
Could I try to use the official miui fastboot update via the mi flash?
Try installing again with "Clean Flash". Wipe System, Cache/Dalvik and format Data (don't wipe data).
Backup your data first, because your data will destroy.
I believe you should already have the ROM, Firmware and Gapps into internal storage.
Now boot to recovery.
Wipe Data (if u are decrypted, format data)
But be aware that formatting Data means that you have to again copy everything back to internal storage using adb. So my advice is to just wipe and see if that works out.
Install Firmware, ROM and Gapps zip.
Order of installation should be same.
Reboot - 1st boot may take some time.

Are these steps correct to flash custom rom in 2020?

-use miunlock to unlock bootloader
-put phone on fastboot mode
-type 'fastboot flash antirbpass dummy.img'
-type 'fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-0-whyred.img'
-type 'fastboot reboot'
-reboot to recovery using phone
-copy gapps & custom rom to phone
-wipe system, data, dalvik, cache
-flash rom
-flash gapps
-reboot
I am currently on MIUI Global 9.5.19.0 with locked bootloader.
Is this method correct? I dont know which guide is outdated right now and which is not. Sorry if this is asked too many times.
Yes this is correct but i want to make some changes in your guide
1. Use orange fox recovery as it is better than twrp and it won't give u any error which u may encounter using twrp.
2. U can use fastboot boot *recovery* to push recovery file and flash its zip after entering recovery (it doesn't need any kind of dummy file flash)
3. Wiping vendor is also there
Thank you
oh ok so basically these are the edited steps to follow now:
-use miunlock to unlock bootloader
-put phone on fastboot mode
-boot twrp using 'fastboot boot XYZ.img'
-flash orange fox zip from twrp
-reboot to orange fox recovery from twrp
-wipe system, data, dalvik, cache, vendor
-flash latest firmware
-flash custom rom
-flash gapps
-flash magisk
-reboot
correct?
thanks a lot btw!
? correct and u can use 9.4.25 firmware as it is best (atleast for me)
Should I follow the same procedure if my phone is on 11.0.3.0?

Now most of the customs support the new pie firmware.
1. Unlock bootloader.
2. Reboot to bootloader
3. Boot to orangefox recovery using
fastboot boot recoveryname.img
4. Copy the orangefoxrecovery.img(extract the orangefox zip) to device storage using the booted orangefox in step 3.
5. Flash orangefox permanently from the copied img file using the booted recovery.
4. If you are planning to use miui don't reboot without flashing magisk. It may reset the recovery to default miui recovery.
6. Enjoy flashing custom roms after wiping(not formating) system, data, cache, vendor etc. No need to format data if you need file ssystem encryption. Formating data from recovery will remove encryption.

Orange fox recovery has aggressive stock recovery deactivation so magisk is not necessary

How To Guide How to dirtyflash in MIUI rom

I'm using Orangefox Recovery latest stable
Steps:
1. Download recovery rom
2. Boot into recovery mode
3. Flash the recovery rom
4. Reboot recovery(Don't reboot system after flashing the rom because it causes bootloop for some reasons)
5. After rebooting recovery, reboot system.
Note: I think this method also working in other devices with an A/B partition and Clear dalvik-cache is optional.
