I have the same challenge of rooting my new HTC Desire 12+ phone, I have tried all rooting tools known to me but in vain. I read somewhere that Magisk Manager is capable of rooting but I need the boot image of this phone (BREP_DUGL), does anyone know where to find it / extract the image. Please HELP!

HTC Desire 12+
Please HELP does anyone know how to root HTC Desire 12+ , all rooting tools that I have tried have failed.
I look forward to your favourable responses.

You'd need a RUU, extract the boot.img using the HTC Decrypt Tool. Then place the boot.img in the root of your internal SDcard, install and use Magisk Manager to patch it with Magisk and Magisk Root.
After that you'd have to unlock the bootloader and flash the patched boot image using fastboot.
To return to stock you shouldn't change anything on system.img and in case of an OTA flash the stock unpatched boot image.
Don't know where to get a RUU though.

:fingers-crossed:

PLEase me too need ?

To root the HTC Desire 12+
assuming you have already flashed twrp and unlocked your phones bootloader:
1.get magisk.zip from the magisk website
2.place the zip into your adb folder
3.reboot phone into TWRP recovery
4.go to advanced > Sideload
5.Execute in adb "adb sideload (name of zip)"
6.magisk should now be getting installed
7.once finished use the reboot button

How to restore clockmod recovery

I flashed clockmod recovery img via fastboot recovery method after S-Off, but right now I can't get into recovery mode either from fastboot or Rom Manager. Is there any way to restore it? Sorry for my English.
Thank you in advance.
uninstall reinstall rom manager, first, otherwise restore a backup from rom manager and try again??? or run unrevoked again
Thank you for your advice. Will give it a try later today.
Just wonder is it possible to place img file under specific folder via Root Explorer to get recovery work again?

you need to flash the .img to your device to have it permanent, like the above poster said, just run unrevoked again
Yes add image to SD, see this thread
Thank you very much. Will run unrevoked after work.
Have a nice day.
Sorry. One more question.
Is it possible to flash AmonRA recovery instead of Clockmod onw when I run unrevoked again?
Just an update. I flash AmonRA recovery with 1 click Andorid Flasher V1.5 and it's done is a second. Glad that have my recovery back finally.
Thank you for pedaah & Andorid Hero.

Desire HD 2.3.5 rooted via htc super tool v3 but can't s-of plz plz Plz plz help.

I know this question been asked alot but my problem is different so plz reply and help me.I had unlocked the boot loader of htc desire had 2.3.5 and then rooted it through htc super tool v3 but now I can't s-off , I tried downgrading using advance ace hack kit but it also fails with bootloader saying no image or wrong image.I used desire had easy radio off tool but that also gives error "probably lost connection"
Plz plz plz help I have been searching for many days but couldn't find any solution so plz help.
Thanks in advance..
Its because you unlocked it using the HTC Dev tool. What youbneed to do is relock it and try the hack kit again
But cant i s-off without downgrading, because before unlocking bootloader and rooting i had tried advance ace hack kit, it downgraded my mobile successfully, but after that my mobile and aahk got stuck at "downgrading radio" or something like that. And cant i flash custom rom without s-off, because some where i read that a guy named pierre_ja helped some one in flashing custom recovery and custom rom, plz if u can help me in the same i will be very thankful to you..
You asked to soff, and you can't unless you use the hack kitBUT you can flash a custom rom with unlocked bootloader, those are two different thing. I personally advice against using the HTC tool, and recommend the hack kit. You need to figure out why it went wrong. Bit anywho. If you are adament on sticking with the unlocked bootloader this is what you need to do.
1) download a recovery of your choice and name it recovery.
2) download a rom of your choice(place one copy in your SD and leave another somewhere else)
3) boot into hboot and select fastboot
4) move the recovery image to where you have the fastboot and adb files
5) open a command prompt CD to your adb folder
Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot reboot
6)noe go back into hboot and select recovery to Confirm its Installed. If so reboot to bootloader and select fastboot again
7In the rom zip you downloaded extract the boot image and place in your adb folder
8) type in the command
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
8)now select recovery and in cwr do a full wipe and install your rom
thanks for the help..really appreciate..going to go with aahk as you said..thanks again

Can't Flash Custom Rom

Hi guys
After a while I decided to finally root my desire z. I did that, by unlocking it with the official HTC Dev Tool and gained root with the HTC Super Tool v3. I checked for root and it is rooted(Root Checker and ADB). I also installed the latest CWM and did a successful recovery image. Now I want to install CM 7.1 but it's not working. I can't flash the rom! CWM Recovery does install it but when I start it I get stuck on the HTC logo. I tried it multiple times, through rom manager, recovery install from zip and even with fastboot. Funny is, when I do it with fastboot, there is no progress bar on the bootloader and after sending and writing i get the FAILED message(remote 24: failed parsing info). But I still get stuck on the HTC logo for hours. In Hboot ist says unlocked and I have root access. I didn't install Hboot-eng and did no s-off because it is unnecessary if you unlock it with the HTC Dev Tool, right?
Can you please help me? I don't know what to do else...
Thank you for your help
Have a look at my guide regarding this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1453066

Hi, thx for the fast reply.
So in what order do I have to do this?
Unlock with HTC Dev and follow the rest of your guide?
Or temp root-> downgrade-> temp root-> perm root-> recovery and flash? No HTC Dev at all?
From what I understand, you've already used htcdev. so you just need to flash the rom.zip, then rip the boot.img out of it and 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
Though I would recommend relocking the bootloader, and get proper s-off, which would be the 'Or temp root-> downgrade-> temp root-> perm root-> recovery and flash' process

HTC Desire HD boot.img

Hi,
I have a HTC Desire HD that i have inherited from a guy at work ...and i need a little help ...after speaking to him he was trying install CM on this and tried to do it without rooting it first !
Basically he flashed the boot.img using fastboot and now it doesn't boot up at all ...surprisingly.
I wondered if anyone can help me with this it boots to recovery but doesn't have root access so i can't install another ROM ...what i figure i need is the stock boot.img so i can reflash this using fastboot to the device then i should at least be able to boot this up. But i can't seem to find this.
Can anyone help..?
Thanks
Rick

This shoud belong in the general section, but...
Just plug your phone into your computer and run a coresponding RUU from windows.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app
Or copy ruu to sd and go to hboot menu, (power on & vol-)

Is the bootloader unlocked? if not is impossible even to try to flash a custom rom. Get a RUU for your phone and revert to a working phone. Then if you want just root it and then flash any rom you want. Follow this guide:

you need to flash clockworkmod Via fastboot commands buddy. Download clockworkmod as a recovery.img and then flash it using the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, its similar to when you flashed the unlock_token.bin to unlock your hboot so the recovery.img needs to be in the fastboot folder.
Thanks HMM..Still cannot flash I'm sorry for being stupid this is my first time rooting..do i need to s-off first? ..please check my screenshots
ALSO tried your suggestion on PC49img.Zip..Also not working

Flashing a custom recovery from a stock recovery wont work. It checks that the stuff its about to flash is from htc and a custom recovery is not made by htc. You must use fastboot. What errors if any is the fastboot command giving you?
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
In the fastboot commands is (Waiting for Device)....I've waited for 15 mins but I think the PC is not recognizing the phone..It also says ONE OF THE Usb is not working something like that.....
I've read in one of XDA treads that Its possible to DISABLE Signature VERIFICATION
Will that work??one more thing, what is the easiest and PROVEN way to S-off HTC WILDFIRE with HBoot 1.02.000...much like revolutionary..Many Thanks..
Use windows 7
Windows 8 didn't work with fastboot only adb with my HTC WILDFIRE A3333, Windows 7 works install driver from windows
IF you are only looking forward for CWM recovery you don't need fastboot
