Phone has system-wide headset controls and it sucks. How do I turn it off? - Nokia 6.1 (2018) Questions & Answers

The system responds very late to single presses of the headset button and skips two songs when I double press the button (wanting to only skip one). How can it be fixed? If it's not possible, how can it be turned off, so I can use app-specific headset controls?
I've tested on another phone: OnePlus 2, it doesn't even have system-wide controls and app-specific controls are very snappy. Also, the system-wide headset controls are always there (on the Nokia) and no app seems to be able to take priority.

Feature request: Using the headphone remote to control volume

Hi all,
Apart from the fact that my headset has a pretty shonky 'forward' button, it works and allows me to skip songs - particularly useful for shuffle. If I hold the button down, I can fast forward (a feature that is particularly un-useful to me).
What I would like is the ability to push the volume up or down by holding onto the buttons - ie, instead of fast forward, it would increase the volume. instead of rewind, it would lower the volume.
what do you think? is it a possible mod?

[Q] Control headset vs speaker volume

I've been looking to be able to automatically adjust the volume depending on whether a headset is plugged in or not. Typically when listening to music, I need the media/alert volumes low. However, when I unplug the headset the volume becomes too low for me to often notice the alert/etc.
I have not seen any controls in ICS, but Ive found one such app, Toggle Settings. It looks to provide a lot of versatility, but has no recent updates or comments.
Thanks
Update: Toggle Settings is not compatible with ICS

[q] Headphone controls

I prefer my controls on my headphones to skip tracks instead of adjusting the volumes. Is there any way to change that or is the only solution to download an app for it?
I user poweramp and with that you can easily go to the next track by holding the mute button for about a second. There is also an option to change it to a double/triple click combination.
My sgs1 worked this way as well, however I used CM7/9 with it.

Headset button function

Hi,
I use the headset button to control my music. From what I have figured out, one press pauses/plays music... two fast presses skips the track... I have tried this, and it works. But sometimes when I double tap the button, it starts ringing the last person I called Can I turn this off? This is really annoying, I seriously do not see why anyone would want this feature.
Iv'e tried one of those headset button apps, and wasn't very impressed, It only worked half of the time.
I mainly just want to stop the button calling people
Anyone any idea?
Thanks.
If you're using PowerAMP try turning on the 'High Priority' headset button handler. If that doesn't work or you have any other music player there's a free app called 'JAYS Headset Control' (works for any headset not just JAYS). Also has a lot of customisation you can do to your headset button actions .

[Q] losing lockscreen controls with new notifications

Hi,
Not sure if anyone else has raised this, but when im playing music, i tend to use bluetooth or headset controls to adjust the volume or skip tracks. However whenever i receive notifications or a popup message, the controls stop working.
I guess this is linked to the lockscreen controls for music. Whenever i can use the lockscreen playback controls, remote control functions work. When it disappears, they dont .
Anyone got any idea on how i could keep the playback controls persistent, regardless of notifications, so that remote control buttons will always work?
Thanks in advance.
