Resize App Windows - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Greetings,
I randomly appear to be able to resize several apps on my screen when sliding with my finger from the upper left corner down to the middle.
I am then able to maximize, minimize, close or move the the app-window.
But I can never dublicate this process. Does anyone know how to do it?
I am on android 8 with the original firmware.
thanks.

Ok, found out that it is indeed a swipe from any top corner which puts any app into a window.

Resize tabstrip to finger friendly?

Does anyone know if there is a way to resize the tabstrip. (Which is the tabs on the bottom of the screen, for example the settings menu). Im wanting them to be finger friendly as it is so small to press with my fingers.
I managed to get plugins to scroll in programs and windows explorer etc, click and hold menu, resize the scroll bar..
Surely someone has made one for tabstrip? Thankyou!

'Back' behavior without the hardware key

Hello everyone,
I just bought my desire and the first "annoying" thing is that I can't go back without using the hardware button. It would be nice to go back using a gesture like a slide from left to right (similar to the home pages navigation).
Since the display is quite big, you need to do some 'trips' between the upper part of the display and the bottom where the button is located.
Is there any utility tool which can accomplish that?
I assume because it would be rather confusing. What happens in apps that use the swipe gesture? If "back" is hard coded into the swipe gesture for the entire OS then apps can't use it. In the photo gallery swipe is for moving from one photo to the next...but if I accidentally try to share a photo and want to get out of that dialogue then I don't want swipe to move to share the previous photo instead...I want it to get out altogether.
I agree..in some applications makes no sense. Anyway, I need to have at least a soft button to go back on the upper or bottom of the display. Another solution is to have the back behavior only on some portions the display.
There is another problem which bothers me . The fonts are not so smooth..it looks like no clear type is available. Every letter have some very small pink pixels on the left side.In fact this applies for every vertical line. Is this normal?
has anyone else this pink pixels?

Click to collapse
Er...no...never seen this. You need to get that checked.
RE pink pixels.
See this article and this XDA thread.

[Q] is there a Chrome Split Screen for our tablets ?

Chrome has a nifty free tool called Split Screen where you can have two URL's side by side on a single page.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/split-screen/eachfleknamlcepmplpdghagngjfjkin?
Very handy for language translation or to keep a series of parallel bookmarks for related items.
Is something like this available for our tablets ?
You can simply load two Chrome browsers in MultiWindow mode.

Click to collapse
From the homescreen, swipe open the multi window bar, hit the Chrome icon and drag it over towards the middle of the screen and let go. As it is the first one you are opening it will fill the whole screen. Swipe the bar open again and then drag a second Chrome icon over the screen but keep your finger on it... as you swipe over the first half of the screen, one side of the screen will turn blue... if you want it open on that side just let go of the icon. If you keep dragging the icon over to the second half of the screen, the second part will then turn blue and you can drop it there and Chrome will open up a second time on that side. Hope this is clear enough

split screen on pie beta

Simple question. How to activate split screen or window mode? Old way of dragging recent app or tapping split icon are gone. Ideas?
Looking at the open apps, tap the app icon on the top center of the app you want in split screen and you'll get the menu.
And how about the swapping the places of split windows?? Is it totally gone now?

Question How do I open apps in split screen?

Using the 3 buttons (not gestures) I can access running apps list and pin the first choice to the top half of the screen. After that the running apps list will no longer appear to allow choosing the second app. I don't know that it should, just been a samsung user so I expected to be that way).
The lower half of the split screen shows the top of the home screen. If I leave app shortcuts there they will open in the lower half of the screen. I'm not too keen on configuring my home screen with shortcuts to apps I might use in split screen along the top.
Hopefully I'm just missing some not to obvious method to control this function. Any suggestions?
