Let me know what you think of it when you get a chance

So far I love the style. Will check battery life today.

Just got mine. I don't understand all the haters. I actually really like this one. Of course no nfc, heart rate or speaker but I never used a watch for them anyways

The watch is 2 yrs old, and officially discontinued.
I have had this watch since its release, and I really like this watch, still use it, though not as my main watch for one reason I will mention below later. I mainly wear it when am going to events as my other watch is just too casual-looking. I have tried a few different bands with it and it looks great with all of them. Now on to the issues with the watch:
- No heart-rate sensor. Might be a bummer if you want to use it for fitness-tracking.
- No updates anymore, since it's discontinued. Last major OS version update was to Android Oreo.
- BIGGEST PROBLEM: Battery life is extremely short when it is fully on, I am only able to squeeze out just under a day with a single charge. I don't even have any extra apps on it which could be blamed. I do have the always on display enabled all the time though. There is a mode where the 'smart' watch is off, just the analog hands are working, and in that mode it can run for months on a single charge, but that defeats the purpose of a smartwatch for many. Now this is the reason I don't use it as my main watch. My other Huawei watch, much more loaded with apps and with a heart-rate sensor is able to survive 2 days on full charge.
- Analog hands might annoy some people, as it does get in the way when viewing a lot of notifications. I don't use it as my main watch so I am not bothered with it.
EDIT:
- Oh, and also, it does not have NFC, so no touchless payment in the era when we need it the most.

[Q] Questions about Moto 360 watch

So AT&T has a promotion right now, if I get the Nexus 6, I can get $100 off of this watch. I have wanted a smart watch for a while, but was leaning more towards the Samsung series (smaller version sorry don't remember the exact name lol). However to be able to get this watch with more features for the same price, I may be getting it instead. That being said I have a few questions.
I am currently a fitbit wearer, I have the cheapest version without a watch etc. I love my fitbit because it tracks my steps and I am able to plug in my workout info into the Android app on my S5. Does this watch come with a pedometer? I saw a thread about an app called "cinch" that can be used with the watch to track heart rate etc. That seems cool too. Just wondering if there's anything built in like the Samsung watches have.
What band do you suggest? I am a female with very tiny wrists and hands. My fitbit is the smaller band set on the second to smallest setting. I tried on the black leather band on display at AT&T last week, and it seemed to fit OK.
How is everyone's overall experience with the watch? Does rooting open up a lot of other features like it does with the phones?
Also how well does the watch sync with your phone?
I just figured I'd put some questions out there, it seems like the reps at AT&T are hit or miss... some know a lot of info on stuff and others are clueless. Plus they want a sale...

The 360 has a built in pedometer and optical heart rate sensor. I'm running it with a Galaxy S5 and carry a fitbit zip so to be honest, I have the 360 set to not provide me info from its built in sensors. Between the fitbit which I have synced to my MyFitnessPal app, my phone's pedometer, and the 360's, I got tired of seeing 3 different step counts so I decided to use the fitbit as my primary step counter and don't use the others but they're there on the 360.
I wear my watch pretty much every day but for times I'm planning to do physical activity - exercise, yard work, helping a friend move, etc. I usually fall back to a Casio sport watch. I love the 360 - still pretty novel and allows me to keep my phone in my pocket most of the day at work but I'm still too afraid I might break it if I put it through the rigors I put my traditional watches through. There's a long thread in the forum dealing specifically with aftermarket watch bands. It seems like a few more options are popping up for men - I don't know about women's sizes.
My phone is usually rooted but I haven't jumped into it on the 360. Anything that requires device disassembly to root is usually past my threshold for that kind of thing. Doesn't look like there's been a lot of dev just yet anyway.
Watch syncs seamlessly with my GS5. No problems to speak of. I often walk away from my phone and I have "Find My Phone" installed which gives me a notification when I leave it behind. Coming back into range, it re-pairs itself almost instantly. A few glitches have shown up for folks after OTA updates that might require you to have to re-sync. For me, since picking up the watch in December, we're talking about having to do that once - after my GS5 took Lollipop.
All in all regarding style, it's my daily "office and out" watch of choice. Regarding functionality, it's more novel than functional - at least for me. Regarding durability, I haven't really pushed it - it is after all a $250 watch. I would absolutely buy one again.
Hope this helps.
Thank you it does. I did a quick search on Amazon for bands and see some out there that are more feminine, but they do look cheaply made. Not sure I want to pair a cheap band with a $250 watch LOL. I might just get the black leather for now, and if something else comes along that I like (i.e. green!) I'll purchase it down the road. I'm looking to replace the fitbit with the watch (I wonder if they'll take it in on trade LOL) I work in an office so I'm not concerned with damaging it.

Dodocase makes a leather band specifically for the moto 360. Comes in several colors. I believe green is one of the colors. They are expensive but the leather looks nice. Just search Google for them. I believe moto may even have them on their website.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Free mobile app
The green one is very nice I could only find it on moto's site, dodcase's website only had cell phone & tablet cases. They also have a thinner metal band that looks more feminine on their site available if you order the watch directly through them. IDK if it'll be available at the AT&T store though. Guess I'll find out tomorrow or Sunday when I go in! Thank you for all your help!!
Best Buy also has the slim metal bands but that doesn't really help you with the At&T promotion unless they will match it.
i need help urgently guys
i am looking forward to buy moto 360 (used one)
but since its my second android wearable after samsung gear fit
can anyone help me with few questions ?
#1 how to check online waranty status of it
#2 he doesn't have the bill (getting for half price of new one) ..how to check whether its indian purchased or global ?
#3 how to examine the watch ? like in cell phones we the screws.. what about moto 360 ?

Banding on gray screen (stripes pattern)

Hi Guys,
Just got my Huawei watch and since I´ve powered it on for the first time I am noticing a weird pattern of stripes on gray screens, on the settings menu for instance (a XDA member told me that's called banding). It´s hard to capture this on camera, but I am posting some pictures so you can see what I am talking about. Have anyone noticed something like that? Is this a problem or it´s nothing and I am overreacting? I couldn´t find any reports on this and this is not (as far as I know) related to the red tint issue.
On an unrelated matter, I also find the crown to be a little wobbly, and not very satisfying to press (it doesn’t make a good clicking sound). Is it supposed to be like this?
I appreciate your help.
Banding. Mine has none at all...I was actually looking for it when I first got the watch.
My button has a little play, but it clicks just fine.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I don't have that on mine but if it's bad I would exchange it. My button is rock solid and the screen is flawless so I'm glad I received a good one. I don't recommend things unless I know they are good and I like my watch from experience. Its been 3 weeks now and I love it the same as the first time I opened it.
Thank you for the reply!
I didn't know the technical term, thanks. I am going to edit the thread to use the right terminology.
Why did you look for banding? Why were you expecting this problem?
Should I return my watch? It's not so easy for me because I don't live in the US, so I would have to pay international shipping and I would not be able to buy a new one.

Just one of the things I check when getting a new device.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Is it a big deal? Can it get worse over time? Cause if it stays the way it is I can deal with it, specially because how hard it is for me to return it.
The first one I picked up had noticeable banding (a little less than yours), so I decided to pick up another one. The second one was worse. I fear it may just be the nature of the technology and I don't have the time and energy to keep gambling for a better unit.
At this point I'm undecided if I'm going to keep the watch. It's a shame as it is a really nice looking device.
Btw - both watches had wobbly buttons, but that isn't really too bothersome.
Thank you very much for your reply! You are the first other person to report this issue. I was starting to think that I had terrible luck with that unit.
Well, mine went back to Amazon. And since I don't live in the US, it's hard for me to try again (have to wait for a friend to go there). And even if I had a second chance, I am not willing to take the risk of getting another bad watch. At this point I am very much considering the new Moto 360. It's got its flaws, but at least it doesn't have such wide spread issues.
Would you consider returning yours and trying the 360? If not, why's that? I would like to learn your opinion.
Thank you again!
Not a problem! I also considered the 2015 Moto 360 (42mm), but decided on the Huawei Watch. The Moto 360 is a very stylish watch and Moto Maker is downright awesome. However, the 2 reasons I chose the Huawei Watch are the reportedly bad dim mode and the "flat tire". I enjoy using WatchMaker to create watch faces and I'd rather not have to design around the flat tire. A friend of mine has the previous Moto 360 and doesn't mind it, though. I think it's more of a subjective issue.
I'm doing my best to get used to the banding and I think that it is only noticeable in straight gray environments (though that includes settings). I have a feeling that I'll notice it less and less over time, but your watch had worse issues than mine and I'm sorry about that.
Yeah, mine was very noticeable.
Do you think I should try a new one? How confident are you that the HW is going to hold up over time?
Do you think that the Moto 360 has a better chance of lasting longer? (no burn in, can charge the battery easily without having to buy a proprietary charger to carry around)?
I would appreciate your opinion.
I know this is a pretty old thread but I didn't want to start a new one for a similar issue. I got my watch today and I notice banding on my display as well. It's mostly visible with solid colors. I'm debating exchanging it with Huawei (I bought it direct through them). I'm trying to determine if this is normal or a defect

Should I get a Moto 360 1st Gen?

Hello,
I've seen some reviews but those were when the watch costed 250$ and that was a long time ago. I'm not 100% sold on the smartwatch idea. Could you guys convince me to buy this watch, give me the pros and the cons... The price I have for this watch, refurbished, is around 85$ + 29$ shipping.
Thanks,
Best regards,
Sincerely yours,
Isac
You should pay a bit more and get the 2nd generation. This one is not going to get the update out later this year.
Although I'm happy with mine, battery lasts all day and I like notifications, controlling music and like secure Bluetooth feature to unlock phone.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I wouldn't buy it. No more updates is already confirmed. The other watches on the market aren't as good. The 2nd gen and sport from motorola are not as good looking but are better. However, Motorola is basically lenovo now and the guy who made some of their best designs (moto x, 1st moto 360) just quit so their quality will go down. If I were you I'd wait for the upcoming watches. The urbane LTE is awesome and far and away the best watch on the market but is godawful ugly. I'd wait for someone to build a watch with a sim card like that so it can replace your phone when needed but look better than that.
I'm really happy with mine, picked it up for £100 (stainless steel version), the battery life isn't brilliant but I pop it on the charger every night anyway. Mainly used for notifications, HRT monitor, and Endomondo.

I paid just under £80 for mine with the leather strap (didn't fancy the metal strap catching hairs on my wrist or the look). I've got a pebble and thought it'd be handy having them both, with this one for good wear and the pebble for not so good wear. The battery lasts about 16 hours before it drops to 20%, which was a bit of shock after several days with the pebble, to the extent where I thought of returning it but I'm ok with it now. Given what I paid for it, I'm not bothered about the 2nd gen and what it might have, as the gen 1 still looks great and does everything I need it to - such as give me the time, date, weather, notifications, heart rate, play music, along with things I've yet to find out about... I should imagine. Not overly impressed by the colour screen, as its not any clearer than the pebble, but will serve its purpose where the pebble may not look quite right. So, in conclusion, I'd say get it.

1st Extended Battery on the Streets (That I am aware of...)

6400 mAh on Amazon, have not heard of the name before. I am still thinking about ZeroLemon, just putting this out here for those that like a smaller battery (less than 10,000 mAh)
https://www.amazon.com/Perfine-Exte...36917&sr=8-1&keywords=lg+v20+extended+battery
I may bite the bullet and buy it just to do a sort of review for everyone here. Double battery life sounds good. It already makes it through a school day (8am-3pm) and is left on 15% with a lunch top up so this will probably help out in that aspect.

Ah ok, did not think to look in there, thought it was solely focused on ZL. I know no reviews I can find either, but as you can see my search skills are not top notch at times lol. But not sure if 6,400 will scratch my itch, I eat the LG battery up in not time, mainly because I keep the screen at 100% 24/7. Plus, with my Note 4 it worked great and not in mind of trying a new brand.

I bought this:

Phenomenal product. Yes, big and heavy. Stick it in my jacket pocket and even sometimes let my friends use it at the same time as I'm using it because it has 2 usb and 3 micro usb ports.
I'm interested, but what kind of grip does that have? I don't want a slippery back with no option for a case. I'm also not to keen on silver. Wish it was a soft touch, grippy black back.

My take away was if you choose standard shipping it would be here by 1 Feb, meaning there are expedited shipping options. Don't think they can Amazon Prime it because coming direct for China.

I'm curious about it but if it's not going to ship until February I had might as well wait for the Zerolemon.

I was going to get the zero lemon, but honestly i like the look of this one as its not as bulky and brick like as the zero lemon. I know zero lemon is the know battery of choice, but i will take a chance as i have heard and read good thing about hyperion as well.

Question Upgrading to Fold 5.

Might be early, but whom will be doing that?
I will first have a look at the new Pixel Fold, compare it with the Fold 5 and decide then.
Fold 5 could be the choice, if the pen is integrated in the device and battery capacity is improved.
There's no hurry ...
Only reading the rumours (and I totally appreciate they are only rumours) that it is going to be a be a very similar device to the fold 4 with only a hinge change I'm not going to bother. To me, it's not worth paying the premium again.
I'm still really enjoying my fold 3 and it serves me very well. I've not noticed any slow down or battery drop off.
The pixel fold was tempting but I occasionally use the s pen, which I think I would miss. And given Samsung haven't failed the Fold3 with software or security updates I'm not too bothered.
I will miss their camera though!
Not going for a first gen folding phone

Yeah, the Fold 5 is gonna have a similar footprint as the Fold 4. However the crease on the Fold 5 will be less noticable and it will have no gap when closed.

To be honest Samsung has put me off of folding anything, as well as Samsung Products. I waited to get a folder until I thought the tech was mature enough, as someone else said , I'm not buying a gen 1 device. I had the S21 Ultra and it was rad. We switched Carriers and I thought the ZFold 3 would be neat, and it was for the first couple of weeks. After showing it off to everyone that wanted to see it and settling in to normal use, I quickly figured out that I had downgraded while spending way more on the device. The folding quickly became a rarely used gimmick, I would say I used it once or twice a week, that's not Samsung's fault, I should have thought more about my own needs and habits. As a bar phone it fell short of the older s21 ultra in every metric that I cared about, that is on Samsung and Me, I should have done more due diligence. What Put me off of Samsung though is how they handled the Warranty. 3 days before my warranty expired the seam in the fold went and the inner screen was done for. Samsung told me to take it to the Asurion repair shop and they informed me that no mater what it was going to be considered external damage, even though I had never dropped it or over used the fold. I had to replace it, even though it was known issue. I have been with Samsung since the Behold 2, I have had so many of their phones and products over the years and its just a bummer. I almost sold our bespoke fridge over it, but its just so pretty. So nah, I dont think Im gonna buy it. Sorry, that rant came out of no where.
I have been put off folding phones because of how I have to really take care when the phone is opened. I had the bubbling issue with the factory screen protector and after visiting a samsung store to see if I could get it replaced they declined, I like my fold 3 and will use it a little longer but think my next phone will be the s24 ultra when that comes out.
That is not always the case. I had the issue with my inner screen protector and Samsung Repair Center in Zurich replaced it at no charge.
They mentioned, it's done for free only once, the next time, I have to pay 50 bucks to get it replaced.

Wow, how do you NOT use the inner screen on this phone?! I very rarely use the outer screen, and am on the inner one all day. Only times I use the outer one is in the car (it is in a wireless charging arm that comes down from the dashboard next to my Android car unit screen), for the stopwatch while using mouthwash (takes up less counter space folded), and if I'm doing something quick (like turning on a Vibe on my Apollo Neuro device) while it is folded for being in my purse or on a wireless charger. I'm glad the outer screen is there, especially for the Always-On screen to see the time, calendar, and notifications, but the inner one is so much better and more useful for everything. A lot easier to type on, too.
I replaced the inner screen protector with the White-whatever one once (there was a bubble creeping along the fold and it no longer had the anti-fingerprint feature) and it was pretty easy to do. Have had this since a few days before launch day. Another year and some months to finish paying it off, so we'll see what's out then for folding phones, but I usually don't upgrade often.

Especially when it has older hardware, like the Pixel Fold. I might forgo the Pixel 8P and go straight for the Fold 2. That's the only way I can justify spending for two phones.
Rather upgrade to Fold 5 versus pixel fold 1.

What are the reviews I'm currently using S22 ultra is it a good idea to switch to fold. I want an honest review about this! Want to switch on fold.

Im actually considering to upgrade. I soo far love the Fold 3 as it is and its been a wonderful experience soo far. And seeing news and leaked images of the Fold 5 is making me want to upgrade. There is also the Pixel Fold being launched soon to the market and I also heard that Oneplus is working on one already. I thought Ill wait until all these releases and then opt the best out of the lot!
How good are the Fold devices from Samsung? Do you recommend me getting once cause Im really intrigued by them and I want them to be performing well enough too. Are they optimized enough and do they get slow over time? How is the battery performance? Ive also heard about multiple applications not being well optimized to the Aspect Ratio of the phone since the Main has a big screen, how does this affect the UX and what about the gaming compatibilities?
I would love to know about the requested queries!

The best thing for you to do is go into a store and play around with a demo unit to see if it is good for you. As everybodys opinon of the device is different and it is all based on user preference

They are pretty good in my opinion. Ive been using the Fold 3 for a while now and there is no major complaints as such. Like @iceepyon mentioned, its always good to check it hands-on for a better understanding of the device and your liking towards it.

Okay I get that! Nothing beats a hands-on experience on the device itself so yes, I think I will check the device out in real to truly understand if its for me or not.
But since ya'll have been using the Fold on a daily basis for a while, I wanted to know how good it is on a long term and as a daily driver for daily usage and stuff.
