Pixel Stand - Google Pixel 3 XL Accessories

I love the idea of the Pixel Stand. It makes your wirelessly charging phone an assistant hub. Do you think it would be possible to Port the Pixel Stand app to work on all phones without the stand and turn on the stand mode when charging via a USB c dock?

Wondering the same thing. It seems possible (link below), we just have to wait for our xda friends to get it working

Huawei watch and 6P charger combo?

Does something like this exist?
A charging dock/stand that can house the watch charger and also dock and charge the 6P?
Interested in this as well.
I thought about designing up something since I wanted a 3D printer but way too expensive for a cradle. There isn't even a universal one
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Would be nice, but haven't not seen anything like this....
we would need a micro-usb to usb-c connector cable thingy.. and one of those universal watch charger that can connect to the micro usb heh
Requires some customization.

Can you charge and use OTG/data transfer simultaneously on the Pixel XL?

I've tried this in the past with micro USB devices, it wouldn't work and I was told it couldn't. I know that you can do this with computers that are equipped with type C but I cant find any info about doing this with type C phones. Please help! This feature would be extremely useful to me but I don't want to buy a powered USB hub and then find out it doesn't work and end up wasting time and money.
I imagine it should be possible as long as your dongle supports pass through charging. My Pixel C and LG G5 both support data from a flash drive and charging at the same time.
I'm excited to see if it really works too. From what i read, the crucial spec is that the charger, hub, and phone all support USB-C PD (power delivery). I bought the Pluggable brand hub Google's Benson suggested to me on Google+.
Edit. I linked them here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=69031534
Did that hub work on the Pixel XL? I would also like to charge my phone while casting it's screen with an attached dongle via usb for a remote. This way I can watch things like amazon video on my chromecast via my phone screen. I tried it on my Nexus 6P and could never get it to work.
Yes, the hub works to charge and connect a usb sound card at the same time on my pixel xl. I don't think the 6p had full USBC-pd support like the pixel added.

Thanks, I returned my Pixel XL after a few days even though I thought the phone was great. I just couldn't deal with the smaller screen and the single bottom speaker after being spoiled by the 6P. Good to know that it works since my wife will be getting one. She's not as picky as I am. Just to confirm, is this the usb-c hub you used? https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Sup...01D401PYW/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Belkin 10wt wireless charger coming

Belkin BOOSTUP Wireless Charging Pad 10W for Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL is coming in time. It will ACTUALLY charge at 10watts wirelessly like the Google wireless pad, but it will NOT do the extra tricks that the Google wireless pad does.
60$ USD
So $20 cheaper than google's charger. But you don't get the standing charger. And like Bukem75 said you wont get the Wireless tricks that do pixel charger does. But i'm sure that's not a problem with people here at XDA someone might come out with a modded apk or something to fix that.
Why not just buy the Pixel Stand?

I pretty much avoid anything by belkin, so i'll pass on that. I also can't get myself to buy the Pixel Stand on principal, basically forcing their own proprietary wireless charging spec instead of just using the one everyone else uses. I would totally be interested if their proprietary standard was there just for their enhanced features, but I have fast wireless chargers everywhere (including my car) that are now limited to slow charging because they wanted to force the sale of their accessories.
Hoping someone researches the fast wireless charging issue to see if it's just a software limitation on the Qi fast wireless charging.

Correction, everyone else is using proprietary technology for fast wireless charging. The Qi standard is used by all brands up to 5w. After that, Samsung built it's own tech to reach 10w and apple did something else to reach 7.5w. All the chargers on the market these days have been forced to support 3 different charging specs because of this.
Now, Google COULD use the Qi spec for charging faster than 5w, but for whatever reason, it chose not to and is now adding a 4th wireless charging tech to the market that nobody asked for.
This reminds me of the wired fast charging cluster f**k between QC, FC, SC, PD, VOOC, and DASH. There's clearly one tech that is superior to the others, and yet, here we are, 3 years later, still trying to figure out which charging brick can work with what phone.
I prefer the slower wireless chargers to extend battery life. Use the plugin brick when traveling. Replacing the battery in this thing is not a simple task.

Car fast charger?

Does anyone have a car charger that works with fast charging? Or any recommendations on one that will work?
If you're looking for wireless I don't think there is anything out there right now. I bought the iottie like a day or 2 before news broke of the speed reduction. They say they are not going to go for certification. I have an email out to Anker's marketing team.

The answer you get is: NO.
TL;DR: No.
I picked these up and will be trying them today...

there are tons of type c options out there, personally I'm using the PD charger from choetech. anything rated for either 3a/5v or PD will fast charge. this is the one I'm using:
CHOETECH USB C Car Charger 18W Power Delivery & Quick Charge 3.0 2-in-1 Dual USB Car Charger Compatible Pixel 2/Pixel XL,Galaxy S9/Note 8/S8, iPhone Xs XR XS Max 8/8 Plus/X, Nintendo Switch etc. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0747669PT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_quY0BbMAFH4XG
Here's a couple I would trust
Choetech 18 watt USB-C PD & Aukey 27 watt USB-C PD / 39 watt total
My other posts were about wireless quick charging. I got that on the brain, apparently.

Yes - I use the Iottie One Touch Wireless Charger and it works GREAT for every phone I have used it - including my Pixel Xl 3
It is a little pricey but it is the most versatile charger I have found - and it is very user friendly - for taking the phone in our out of the phone holder/charger.
I also really like the Iottie Discs they include with the charger/holder - it allows you to mount the charger/phone mount on a curved dash without any problems at all - and in a pinch, they can be removed without messing up the dashboard. Great Charger - great Car Phone Mount. Really is the best one I have seen

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's for wireless charging, not wired.

That's right. And, https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77982087&postcount=7
I've been using the Anker one and works really well. in essence any charger with USB Cand PD certification will do the trick
https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-C-Car-...blhkm:sc:USPSFirstClass!92143!US!-1:rk:4:pf:0
tried out my choetech 10w wireless car charger. didn't mess with any measurement apps since I knew it wouldn't charge at 10w, but it did charge the phone with navigation running, screen on and music streaming over bt. since it's powered by type c you can always just plug the phone in directly if you need fast charging, but if it outpaces navigation that's generally good enough for me.

I've been using a 10w wireless charger in the car and it works with Google Maps navigation and Bluetooth audio running. It doesn't charge fast but not having to deal with magnets is nice. The only issue is that if you turn the car off the arms won't open at the push of the button. Not a big issue because the pho e is easy to take out.
If I do need to fast charge I just place the phone in the crawl then unplug the power from the car charging mount and straight into the phone. I'm using a USB C PD car cigarette lighter socket.

I just got this in yesterday and it's charging as fast as my Google wall charger (verified via Ampere). It also has a QC 3.0 port for my wife's S9+.

Does it still charge and maintain a charge while using the phone for streaming/nav, etc?
Oh, and will it work if my XL has a bulky case?
I have a question.
See it's nice to have wireless chargers in the car with arms to hold the phone. Even better to have a wireless charger with magnet.
Now I won't go in debate of over charging the phone but is there a wireless charger for a car that has a button to turn ON and OFF the charge? I don't care with or without a magnet to hold the phone.
I drive allot so I don't mind a slow charging the phone, I do care about leaving the phone on without over charging it. Plugging the cord in and out isn't fun.

it does charge while using navigation - and Wireless Android Auto - (which is a pretty big drain on the battery) I don't know about a "Bulky Case" I use the Ringke Crystal Fusion Case" which is fairly thick - and it works fine for me - but I haven't tried any other case, so I can't say for sure.
I love the Iotti One Touch - Wireless - it is an awesome holder/charger
Good Luck

That looks really interesting, but I would be worried about the motorized aspect during Canadian winters. Many years ago I had a motorized face plate for my car stereo and it would never work during the colder days.

I agree, i did a bit more research and i think ill go or may go with something like this.

Granted i will have to install or use two side tape to attach two metalic strips onto the phones case to get the magnet stick to it. Should be piece of cake or buy those metallic rings that sell and attach them.
there is also this one, but sadly it doesnt come with a suction cup (which i really need) I does come with a metal ring tho.

Need recommendation for wireless charger and audio dock

Hey guys, my wife and I have pixel 3 recently purchased from our mobile provider. I want to get a wireless charger (fast charging not necessary) and maybe an audio dock if one exists. Any suggestions?
I think that will be 2 different things for you. Find a bluetooth speaker you like (you may find one with a build in charging pad, I have not looked). I use an Anker PowerPort Qi on my desk leftover from my Nexus 6. Not fast charging, but it comes cheap on the AMZN.
I can't recommend a device from personal experience but if you look at Amazon and search "Qi Bluetooth Speaker", you'll see a ton of options. I'm sure most are crap, so research before you buy (or be prepared to return it if it's crap).
For the wireless charger i'd say stick to the pixel stand, it offers a lot and it's the one supported by google. For sound, just get a good Bluetooth speaker i'm personally a fan of harman kardon. I got it when I switched cellular providers.
For wireless charger. I have this one.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QHZ7XK2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It charges just as fast as the pixel stand. (Requires a USB C to USB C cable and a USB C type PD power supply to do so.
I am on q (Newest beta) And have been using the charger for about a month now.
