@bauuuuu
Thanks for providing this interesting ROM.
I have a question. I am surprised that the installation instructions for ArrowOS are really that simple. When reading other Pie ROM threads here on XDA, most installation instructions have some kind of "flash this or that firmware" and/or "ensure to have run OxygenOS OB xyz at leat once", which isn't the case here.
For example, I am currently running Dirty Unicorns (Android Oreo 8.1.0), my OP5 is decrypted as DU doesn't support encryption (thus, no no-verity file is needed after flashing DU). So to switch from DU to ArrowOS, I only have to remove custom pin or fingerprint for device unlock, boot into recovery, make a backup (just in case, you know), perform a complete wipe excluding internal storage, flash Rom&GApps&Magisk and that's it?

Frankly speaking this is quite understood when one installs a custom rom, one must be on latest stable firmware.
if that is confusing i just edited post to include those lines. Moreover if you ask me, i haven't installed any other rom, but just unlocking boot-loader, one full wipe of everything, install arrowos. works fine.

Yeah, that was why I was confused. Advanced users here on XDA might know about this, but people who haven't flashed a custom ROM before might get into issues with this. If you would update your installation instructions, it would help avoiding lots of issue reports in this thread here.
From what I understood, ArrowOS is decrypted by default and doesn't require the no-verity file to be flashed, correct? So no need to format data partition before flashing ArrowOS? Because when you said that you have just unlocked your device's bootloader, wiped everything and flashed ArrowOS, I would say that your device is still encrypted. Just to avoid confusion.

Hello
Firmware ? OB 19, 20, 514, 515 ? Thanks

5.15

It's pretty simple, decrypted device can update/downgrade between Rom/Android version without any problem just with a clean flash (Wipe : Dalvik/ART - Cache - System - Vendor - Data)
So you can keep your Internal Storage, not needed to format data. I advise to always flash the no-verity file after each dirty flash/clean flash) for be sure to keep device decrypted, because some roms compatible with encryption don't apply by default no-verity. No verity file v2/v3 is asked (v2 for standard environement (non-treble) or v3 for treble environement
When you are decrypted you can switch from 9 > 8.1 > 9 and AOSP > OOS > AOSP like a bird ^^

Its decrypted already if everything is wiped, unless some other rom/ module encrypts it. As @Pho3nX said better to flash verity patch if you switching between roms
forgot to attach

Okay, now you have somewhat confused me again :silly: My OP5 doesn't have the vendor partition available as of now. I know that you can enable it, there was a guide about this by using the Mokee ROM somewhere here on XDA. Does ArrowOS needs the vendor partition to be enabled or does it enable it? If not, I guess I will need the v2 no-verity file.
Sorry for asking this kind of basic stuff, but I am rather new to treble and no-verity as my current setup doesn't require any of those two.

Dont' be worried, if you don't have Vendor partition it's because your actual Rom is not treble. If you are decrypted, there no problem, when you will install ArrowOS (Treble) System & Vendor partitions will be installed. ArrowOS will create a vendor partition.
PS : And because apparently your old rom (DU) was non-treble, your old no-verity v2 is now outaded. Use This v3 (Treble and non-Treble Pie compatible):

Thank you for your help here :good: I hope that my treble-noob questions and your detailed answers will help others with similar (non-existing) treble experience

Okay, I tried to flash ArrowOS (official for cheeseburger from 2018-10-21) via TWRP, but I got an error saying
"E: string resource 'zip_compatible_err' not found. Using default value. Zip Treble compatibility error! Invalid zip file format!"
What I did: boot into TWRP, performed a complete backup, then did a full wipe (data, system, cache, dalvik). Then flashed latest 5.15 firmware, then tried to flash ArrowOS.
Any hint what I did wrong?

If you wipe system you should flash the stock ota and twrp zip, boot up and start over.

****ty, this happened to me before from flashing an old ROM by mistake.
Have you tried booting? Either way you'll have to format your data to decrypt the file system.
If it doesn't boot you'll have to adb side load stock ota and start over. A type c thumb drive loaded with files you need comes in handy when this happens.
I'll wait till I'm home before flashing this to see what's up.

Bug reporting:
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
[*]Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
[*]If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
[*]If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
[*]Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Your steps don't make sense, the first install steps refer to crDroid when this is Derpfest, it also says to flash twrp via recovery when the default MIUI recovery does NOT have any option to do so or to flash any other zips (when in fact your link is of OrangeFox, that isn't TWRP) and both the "first time" and "update instructions" steps say to flash gapps when in bold letters above the link you say not to flash them.

Hi, master.
I have a joyeuse and unfortunately it doesn't flash.
I think it's bad access to /system.
No Android 11 works on my joyeuse here on xda and unfortunately there aren't many phones here.
I tried your Android 10 RR, which works like a charm.
But unfortunately I'm not lucky with Android 11. I think the problem is in the dynamic partition (/system_root, /vendor, /product). Twrp can't mount it.

which TWRP are you using?
i have installed the OrangeFox Recovery project and it works.
you must follow certain procedure and should be fine.
Not every Android 11 works for me but it is not due to access to the partitions (at least i believe)
i had problems with SimCards which were not recoginized.
at this moment i had installed the Legion Rom based on the Android 11.
works well, Magisk installed, Fdroid with all apps too.
Safetynet passed.
netflix runs w/o issues.
i followed this procedure:
1- install TWRP (Russian one exe file) and enter TWRP.
2 - click on Wipe, then on Format Data -> type "yes" (this will decrypt the phone)
3 - restart the phone to TWRP
4 - In TWRP, i installed the OrangeFox Recovery Project (Version 11 Alpha)
5 - Restart to System

Try latest OrangeFox ( 30 December 2020 ), the "decryption issues with custom Android 11 ROMs" fixed, you can find here: https://orangefox.download/device/miatoll
I have experience with Orangefox recovery on my previous phone, is the best recovery for Redmi note 7, using now on my note 9pro too, DarthJabba9 is a great developer.

Does this ROM support auto-fill without problems? Not killing apps just because of switching between them? Does it support showing adopted shared storage on TWRP?

Auto fill, yes && adopted shared storage on twrp, not related to rom
[email protected] for the rom! just install the rom and runs perfectly.
Its recommended to install the new Firmware for android 11?
Hello. Why do some apps not work because I am supposedly root? I haven't done root, and I don't understand why.
Thanks for the amazing job, CRDroid is my favorite ROM since my Moto G5 Potter, now that I have a Ginkgo, I'm happy to continue with this ROM, there's just one thing that I miss, please could anyone tell me if there's an option to enable ringtone per sim card, in the potter build it was enabled by default. I don't mean to be rude or ungratefull, Just want to know if I just need to flash some module or something.

Fast charging does not work.
I flashed latest android 10 firmware. (Global V12.0.3.0, fw_ginkgo_miui_GINKGOGlobal_V12.0.3.0.QCOMIXM_265dab17e2_10.0.zip)
(Chinese beta firmware also does not work.)
No root, no magisk.
Looking at the other XDA threads, the Chinese ginko seems to be the problem. (My ginko is chineese ginko.)
Other android 11 ROMs also don't work with fast charging.
I think it's a kernel issue.
All other functions seem to be normal. Smooth, fast and stable.
Thanks, mg712702!
I was able to upgrade from CrDroid 6.12 without data wipe/format. No issues whatsoever, great work!

AFAIK, Chinese Ginkgo don't have a fast charging adapter out of the box, you need to buy that from outside
After update via OTA, system was unable to boot. I flashed previous ROM and it works now, but I'm wondering what was the problem? How to update to the newest version?
According to instruction:
Wipe system, vendor, cache, dalvik
Flash Rom, Gapps & Magisk (optional)
Reboot
It should work, but it doesn't.
Should I flash latest firmware first? If yes, why this step isn't included in the "update" instruction?
Beside this, big thanks for this ROM, it works flawless.

LineageOS is a free, community-built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 6, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

hi, amazing job for porting this rom
tho i'm a bit confused with the steps to flash the zip files, am i supposed to use "nora-rec.img" recovery to flash the rom and the gapps? i can't find the option to flash zip files in that recovery

Not a port, rom was actually built properly based off hannah trees (Credits to @karthick mostwanted) , however TWRP was a port from hannah , made by @amaterasushen
The problem is Nora and james both have tiny recovery partition sizes so its gonna require some more work before twrp will be flashable , For now just use it to wipe system and vendor only , and use lineage recovery for the rest, you can goto the 'update' menu in lineage recovery to flash zips for now.

I already flashed it, after I did a factory reset with the lineage recovery, I rebooted into twrp and flashed both files + magisk, everything is working really well, I'm actually surprised of how fluid this rom is
Nice! , yeah as I said , no port rig job.. its the real deal
Glad you enjoying it
I manage to successfully install this ROM even though I deviated slightly from the instructions. I did the following:
fastboot boot recovery-twrp64-nora.img
Wipe -> ADVANCED -> Format Data - type yes
Wipe -> ADVANCED -- select system + vendor
reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery nora-rec.img
fastboot boot nora-rec.img
Factory reset
reboot to bootloader
fastboot boot recovery-twrp64-nora.img
Copied the Lineage and OpenGapps zips to the internal memory and flashed via TWRP without errors
excellent
I have seen in other ROMs that there are graphical bugs and the audio equalizer does not work correctly. Are these bugs present in this ROM?
Nora never had a rom until now
I do not have a nora , however i do not believe it has such bugs

Hello. Thanks for the ROM, I already downloaded it. I'm a bit of a layman about installing ROMs. I was confused to read your instructions. Can I install your ROM in this way (https://tecnoblog.net/283069/como-instalar-lineageos-e-atualizar-o-seu-android/)?
Do you have any other instructions on installation, like a tutorial? Grateful

How do you unlock the Bootloader. I did all the steps until I got the key.
fastboot oem get_unlock_data
(bootloader) Unlock data: Key
But on the Motorola website it says "Your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking.". What to do ?
Mine is the Motorola XT-1944-4

If you follow the steps in the motorola website and it says is not unlockable, you are out of luck.

@Zerogoki_00 How did you manage to install nikgapps (or anything else for that matter) when TWRP cannot access internal storage?
Does this require any particular Samsung blobs to be installed?
In other words, if coming from Lineage 18.1, can I just update TWRP to latest, install this ROM (including wiping data) and be on my merry way?

It requires Android 11 firmware. Coming from Lineage 18.1 doesn't require updating firmware. Also you need to format data (wiping internal storage), not just wiping data partition.

Thanks. I already tried sideloading nikgapps before, but they don't work. But flamegapps do, so it's OK for now.
The new crDroid 8.2 Official is very nice indeed.
I had been using the @LuK1337 Lineage 19.0 and it is good too, but this one has nicer theming, while still retaining the solid Lineage base.
I use an SD card to hold the ROMs and stuff to avoid the Android 12 /data badness in TWRP, and it all works just fine.
Also ... I dirty flashed over Lineage 19.0 and it worked fine after going into the settings and getting the navigation buttons back. Obviously a clean install might have been needed, but luckily it was not.
crDroid 8.2
Flame Gapps basic
Magisk 24.1
MagiskHide Props Config 6.1.2-v137
Systemless Hosts
Universal SafetyNet Fix v2.2.1
AdAway 5.11.0
Youtube Vanced 16.29.39
Play Store says "Device is certified" and YASNAC gives 2 thumbs up.
Obviously we will all like to see a new TWRP with Android 12 support, but it is not vital, as you can sideload or use an SD card (which you should anyways, for backup).
Denisovich Index of Goodness: 97%
currently on last a11 crdroid build. can i just jump to this build or do i need to go back to stock?
Since I had to format data to go from Lineage 18.1 (Android 11) to this, I expect you will have to, as well.
But I don't see why you would have to go to stock in the process.

so wired, I clean flashed the crdroid 8.2 and flamegapps, everything looks good. However it showed wifi connected but google play store showed no internet and offline, cannot install any apps.
If I flash lineageos 19 everything is good.
Works well on mine with microg
