messaging app disable outgoing messaging sounds? - Google Pixel 3 XL Questions & Answers

I disabled sent message sounds and it still makes a notification noise with each message sent. Anyone know how to silence it?
Edit: Clearing cache and data fixed it.
Edit2: Nevermind. Sound is back even though I switched it off. Anyone else experiencing this?

Odd problem with new e-mail alert sound

So I am using Kavanas 6.1 ROM and have been for a few months with no problem.
I have been noticing that I am getting the "unread message alert" (kavana rom feature) 15 minutes after receiving my e-mail with out hearing my normal e-mail sound going off the moment I get it. This just started happening for no apparent reason. I havent installed any new apps or anything.
My MMS and SMS sounds are fine and they go off as normal. In "Settings" the e-mail alert sound is there and can be played. I shut my phone down and removed the battery for a few mins and retested it, still no alert sound when I receive my email. I then changed the e-mail alert sound to the same sound that I use for my SMS, retested, still no sound. Soft reset, still no sound. Shut down and removed battery for a few minutes, retested, still no sound.
I am stumped. I checked all my Settings for sounds and my profile and everything is normal. I even checked e-mail settings for some type of sounds options, even tho I was pretty sure there was none, and I was right, there is none.
I just dont get it... This ever happen to anyone else?

[Q] Can't Silent Voicemail notification it just plays default.

Is anyone else seeing this.
I have a custom notification i use. When i got a voice mail i would get it twice one from the phone seeing the voice mail and another from Visual voice mail app 3-10 sec later. This was getting irritating as far as i can tell there no way to mute the app and when i set the phones notification in call to silent i was still getting my default twice. now if i changed it to a different tone i would just get the new tone this my default from app. I ended up getting an MP3 of 2 sec of dead air and setting that to my voice mail tone. Has anyone else had this issue?

[Q] Not getting notification flashing light for Google Hangouts?

Basically I cannot figure out why it won't do the blue light notification whenever I get a text message. I have it set for priority and notification light on for Hangouts. Anyone else have any ideas why this might be happening?
Also is it possible perhaps to have it muted without vibration? It seems I can only set it for vibration or sound.
Thank you anyone for your help!

Vibrate for voicemail

The option to vibrate for voicemail in the phone app settings keeps turning off on me. Anyone else have this issue?

Anyone else have "Outgoing message sounds" distortion issue?

I'm noticing an issue when I send text messages using the default app. Pixel 2 XL, 8.0.0, factory reset a couple times did not fix this issue.
It's the only "sound" issue I'm noticing and the only place I notice it is in the messaging app, the "Outgoing message sound" that bings when you click send on a message. It's a simple tone, and I hear the tone however the first millisecond or two of the sound is garbled/distorted enough to notice. If I send text messages in rapid succession to test the sound, it seems to get a little better, however when no message is sent for a second, then you click send there is a distinct distortion sound at the very beginning of the tone. I'm wondering if it's a speaker/hardware issue and solely my own? Could this be a software issue? Or if anyone else has encountered this? I could fix this by simply deactivating the tone in the "app settings", "Additional settings in the app", and uncheck the "hear outgoing message sounds", but if it's a hardware issue I want to RMA this thing.
Reset the phone twice, (just an aside the first reset the sim free setup failed for some reason, so I reset it again and it worked fine)... but the sound issue/distortion remains on the send message tone.
Aside from that I'm having no screen issues or any other issues really- phones been superb which is why the tone distortion is so frustrating, given I text message excessively.
Thanks for any reply
