Dual 4g in Redmi 6 pro..? - Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Questions & Answers

Noticed on the official website that Redmi 6 pro does not support dual 4g, whereas it's lower siblings 6 and 6A support.
is there any way to enable this? any custom ROMs
Is this a hardware limitation, if not can we expect a OTA update from Mi to enable dual 4g.
any thoughts?

Actually......no?It's really difficult to change hardware. Hope I helped
Hit thanks

The other two are on mtk processor and 6 pro is on sanpdragon. I don't think SD 625 supports dual 4g

Sweet, but anyone know the difference between the 8996 and 8996 pro CPU roms?
Can either rom be used or do you need a specific device?

Sweet, thanks...
Glad I asked as I REALLY don't wanna kill my SD821...
They should have made the 821 available for both variants

I agree but I think they probably pushed out what they had at the time...
It was a large amount of waiting for this device, around 6 months from showcase to release....
The person I bought my phone off said it was because ASUS had some supply problems back in August/September., though that could've just been to fob me off too....
Though saying that I really had to pick and choose. Over here in Oz the Zenfone 2 was ever really released, not in stores or through the telco's so this awesome phone won't even get a 2 second blurb in any of the media again... So much for local warranty.....

[REQUEST]VoLTE for ZenFone 2... is there any chance?

Hi...Devs...
Is there any chance for VOLTE for ZenFone 2.... ?
Even yu yureka have VoLTE now.... why not for ZenFone...?
Nope, it won't happen as it's not supported by the Zenfone 2 running Intel SoC.

I don't think that's true. From asus zentalk forums: "I Dug a bit deeper and found that Z3580 is equipped with Intel's XXM 7260 slim modem which is an LTE Advanced Chipset, same as one found in iPhone 6 or other VoLTE enabled handsets so Yes,Asus can fix this with a patch."

I think it's gonna be a SD660 .If it is really, then I'm selling my ZMP M1 right now . Who won't ignore a powerful processor with bigger battery ?
Does anyone know if the M2 will still have the dual SIM and sd card slot option like the M1 ?

There is a zenfone launch on Oct 17 in Delhi, India. Asus have not disclosed anything except its a zenfone launch.
We might expect the leaks AZMPM2 & AZMPLUSM2 to be announced.
So lets wait for official.

Development potential oft redmi note 8 / redmi note 8 pro

Hi everybody,
I am considering to buy this phone, (rmn8 pro), however it ships with the mediatek G90T processor. in the past my understanding was that ROM development for mediatek based phones is troublesome due to missing sources. Can anyone confirm this issue for me?
Would it therefore be better to buy the non pro version of rthe rmn8 shipping with an snapdragon 655 processor?
Yeah I'd like to know it too.
OK - so it seems that if we want custom ROMs we should go with the non pro version.
Based on xiaomis history and the development activity for the redmi note 3 snapdragon and redmi note 3 mediathek there is a considerable difference.
Furthermore it appears that it took 3 years for xiaomi to release the kernel source for the rmn 3 and the rmn 2 mediatek version. In general it appears that the source release is up to the OEMS - e.g. Xiaomi. Mediathek is known to only distribute the source to customers or people who are willong to pay.
This is kind of disappointing as the pro version of the rmn8 is quite a bit better.
Any other opinions ?
I want the pro version but mtk processor no way ill be buying as I want gcam and custom roms.
I would suggest you to wait for the Global launch because Xiaomi might launch RN8Pro with Snapdragon soc..

That could be the case, but I guess it won't happen as they try to create some hype around the new helio chips.
If Xiaomi released source code for kernel, there is chance for start develop custom ROMs and kernels, but SoC from Qualcomm Snapdragon still more universal. I think MediaTek will get custom ROMs/kernels but Gcam will be more problematic. In my opinion XDA members should try create better support for MediaTek SoC. Why ? MediaTek Helio G90T it's seriously impressive SoC with some more performance than SD730G.
The phone is very, very good

The problem is that MTK doesn't fully release the sources of their SoC's that's why it has low development here in XDA.

Exactly my thoughts.... Redmi Note 7 pro has lot of developments going on and it is better than Redmi Note 8.
Redmi note 8 has Samsung sensor which does not have much gcam support.
Redmi note 7 pro has Sony sensor which works flawlessly with gcam.

Well about development, sure note 7 Pro may have better Dev support coz it's an older device but as far as gcam support is concerned, you may be wrong, I'm using note 8 and it's working flawless. At least it's giving much better camera results when compared to poco

Samsung set to launch snap 730 version on my county. While there have been some say that these two processors are not too different in terms of support custom Rom. But with a well-known tradition of poor developers support. I don't think the M51 snap 730 is a smart choice. I think poco X3 is best choice in my country

Then it seems like the European version launched with the 730. The main difference is that the SD 730G is more optimized for gaming where the GPU is clocked higher than the SD 730.
AFAIK everywhere else has the SD 730G
I got an brazilian one with 730 chipset, while some other shops here announce it as 730G
