Kirin 710 chipset

best budget device
the best feature of this device is that it offers best bang for buck value in my opinion

That would be the 20MP AI camera, is just amazing!

Never won anything

8x
Favorite thing about the Honor 8x is the screen. The 6.5 inch screen and big battery are a killer combo.

Best price/performance product including with high specifications:
Borderless fullview display + Kirin 710 + 20MP AI camera = perfection!

Yeah … the AI-Cam

In that phone I love performance. It's so smooth!
Wysłane z mojego ALE-L21 przy użyciu Tapatalka

The AI-Cam

I believe it has the best cost x benefit ratio in the market right now.

Design
That Design of Honor 8X is one of the best if not best in the segment ????

Kirin 710 Chipset, 128 GB internal storage.

These below features are the one which I like in Honor 8X
The glass back panel with metal frame makes 8X a stunning phone.
Massive 6.5" display with a 91% STB ratio which makes full use of its design.
Ultra Slim Chin makes the phone even more attractive.

The design and the value for money.

HONOR 8X
I like the design of Honor 8X display, its tiny bezel make it beauty.
Also, i like what the camera Honor 8X perform from the review of youtubers, its good for the mid range phone and I can experience night mode like Mate 20 Pro. That very awesome.
Last but not least, i want to experience how this Kirin 710 chipset perform, it is good like another mid range smartphone that use snapdragon chipset.
Honor Always Improve

Premium Design
The premium design of the phone puts other premium range phones to shame... Man this phone has some killer looks definetly going to catch a lot of attention for their owners.

Cheer for 8X
First of all the main reason i think that honor 8X can be a boom is because of it's price segment getting some impressive/massive specs under 15k is something everyone looks forward to buy. And the second reason is that it's kirin710 chipset, GPU turbo and 4/6 gigs of ram which makes the performance smooth sleek and real fast. Next main segment camera 20MP AI recognition camera with face unlock is something that many of the manufactures are not providing under this pricing segment. And the 3750mah battery i think with that much of power i can get an entire day for my usage. So there's every reason to own and love the honor 8X.

It should be the tall screen. Less scrolling when reading an ebook, article or Twitter and extra wide view when gaming is just something you can't ignore. Less finger scrolling is always a good thing.

Definitely the triptych (chipset(14nm!), cpu+gpu) will make the difference. "Endless" bezeless display as well. Seems to be a real upgrade to predecessor!

Yes, it seems so
Let's hope that also the software will be good as well. I'll let you know when I receive it.
Looking forward to seeing any reviews on this phone. From what I understand, Ulefone seems to be on par with Xiaomi in customer satisfaction.
Ihave a couple of questions to get the discussion started:
Can we expect CM13 getting support for Ulefone Future?
What are Ulefone's stance on unlocking the bootloader, will it break the warranty?
Will this phone come with Google apps or will it be lacking those, just like other chinese models?

I currently have an Xperia Z3 for past 18 months. Upgrade with my current provider is costing me €250 to get a Z5.....So I'm keeping an eye out for decent Chinese android phones. This looks interesting and seems to have better specs than the Z3 and Z5,apart from camera. Would this Ulefone Future be a decent upgrade from my Z3?

It probably means that GearBest doesn't have anymore units with the gift package. Every shop works in a different way, take a look at other shops.
This video by Ulefone seems pretty promising.
I just hope that its software will be better optimized because on the Vienna it isn't...
Recharge and Drainage Test
Ulefone Future has a 3000mAh battery, enough to get a thick flagship device. The 9V/2~3A fast charger that will come in the package is said to fill up the battery in 1 hour, so this can be considered as a compensation to the low battery capacity.
In a latest battery test, Ulefone staff managed to charge the Ulefone Future from 21% to 76% in half an hour with the phone turned on, indicating that a singe charge takes less than 1 hour. Online HD video playback for 30 minutes drained the battery from 100% to 91%. If this reflects real-life conditions, a one-day of normal usage should be covered without issues.
In addition, the Ulefone Future will share the same Pump Express Plus charger that the Ulefone Power has. Also, Ulefone claims that the Future Sony li-polymer battery inside. It seems promising for now.
Ulefone's Blog article: http://blog.ulefone.com/ulefone-fut...test-battery-life-is-not-to-be-worried-about/
Ulefone has just announced on their official blog today that they will begin to ship the Ulefone Future from May 25, after the pre-sale period.
They have already been producing the bezel-less device but they still need 2 weeks to fulfill all the preorders, probably too much than expected, so that all is ready for the 25th of May.
This is the most expensive device that Ulefone has ever made, but the company promise that it will also be the best phone under $300 because this device has some flagship characteristics that other device offered at the same price don't have. Of course we aren't not talking about the CPU (that can't be considered super-performant), but the bezel-less display and other specs.

Le Max2 vs Competition

LeEco, the global Internet company that is disrupting the Indian smartphone market, launched its new line of smartphones – the Le 2 and Le Max2 a few months ago to an overwhelming response. More recently, the company announced a special offer for Diwali where its flagship, the Le Max2 is available at Rs. 17,999 on LeMall, Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal – no strings attached!

If you haven’t heard of LeEco’s great “value for money” superphones, let us show you how it compares to the latest flagships from well-known brands! We are pitting the Le Max2 against Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and HTC’s uniquely named 10.
PERFORMANCE
To start off, all three smartphones boast top-end specifications in almost every department – 4GB RAM, 32/64GB Internal Memory, at least a 3000 mAh Battery, support for the latest Wi-Fi standards and almost all network frequencies! So, all of them are snappy performers. The Galaxy S7 uses Samsung’s own Exynos line of processors and they are comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processors on the HTC 10 and Le Max2. It’s a tie here because all three flagships run smoothly no matter what you throw at them.
DISPLAY
The Galaxy S7 has a vivid 5.1-inch SAMOLED display with Quad HD resolution that makes colors pop. The HTC 10 uses a 5.2-inch SLCD display with Quad HD resolution that is known for its true-to-life colors. The Le Max2 goes big with a 5.7-inch IPS display with Quad HD resolution! Place these smartphones next to each other and the difference is obvious! While the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have great displays, the Le Max2 is no slouch either, and it takes the prize in this category because “bigger is better” when it comes to displays!
DESIGN & BUILD
Samsung continues its metal and glass design with the Galaxy S7, rounding out a few edges and the phone feels like a premium fingerprint magnet. HTC goes with its now-famous all-metal build on the 10, adding a huge bevel on the edges that makes the phone stand out in a crowd. LeEco iterates on their successful full-metal design that is a head turner in Rose Gold because of its symmetry! Tie here.
CAMERA
In this department, while the Le Max2 has a higher Megapixel count, that’s not the end of the story. As serious photographers will tell you, Megapixels matter, but so do other things like Aperture and Processing. The Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have lower resolution cameras with smaller Aperture that results in great low light photos. The Le Max2’s camera is not bad, it captures amazing photos in good lighting conditions. However, it is an average performer when it comes to low light photography. If LeEco goes with a better Aperture size in the future, we’ll be completely sold! The Galaxy S7 takes the edge here with a better aperture size and crispy processing.
BATTERY
All three phones come with non-removable batteries, though the Le Max2 fits in an an extra 100 mAh battery capacity that might help with those last-minute “my phone is dying” phone calls we all make.
SOUND
Both the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have the usual 3.5 mm analog audio port but LeEco is trying something new with its Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) standard delivered through the USB Type-C port! Listening to music on the Le Max2 with the CDLA earphones showed us how much we missed out earlier. The same tracks sound richer, with perfect bass and treble. Forget all the hoopla about custom DACs on smartphones, if the industry follows this standard, we’ll not need to worry about audio quality at all – for the vast majority of us.
CONTENT
The future is here and content is king! This revolution in India was started by LeEco in February this year and we can already see major players scrambling to bundle some kind of content with their smartphones. Xiaomi gave away a few months of Hungama Music along with their smartphones, and now OnePlus gives users a 1-year subscription to Saavn Pro for all their music listening needs. The older players, Samsung and HTC haven’t bought into this model yet, so LeEco walks away with the honors in this section. The 1-year LeEco Membership that comes bundled with the Le Max2 offers 2000+ premium movies, 100+ Live TV channels, 3.5 Million songs and 5 TB cloud storage! This is a game changer for the smartphone industry in India.
PRICE
The Galaxy S7’s lowest variant costs Rs. 48,400 while the HTC 10 is unreasonably expensive at Rs. 52,990. The Le Max2 was favorably priced at Rs. 22,999 until last week and is now a steal at Rs. 17,999!
VERDICT
We hope this comparison shows you why we consider the Le Max2 a winner. It is in the same league as the flagships from Samsung and HTC while costing about a third of what you’d usually pay. While some users might be enamored by the ads about water resistance on the Galaxy S7, we don’t think an average buyer wants to pay 30,000 rupees for that feature.
The Le Max2 offers reasonable storage, good performance, great audio quality and, most importantly, the biggest catalog of content! There are so many ways that the LeEco Membership adds value to the end-user that it boggles the mind – you can’t consume all that content even if you try!
LeEco is redefining the phrase “value for money” because you’ll not have to worry about any additional costs when you want to listen to music, watch movies, catch the latest news from your favorite TV channel or even when you want to store your data in the cloud!

Honor 8X near lauching, is it worth to wait?

I want to buy a phone to my mom as her birthday gift at the end of October and my budget is around $250. Today I found a news on Gsmarena that Honor 8X would launch on September 5 in China. The leaked key specs quite touched me, considering the price of Honor X series phone (6X, 7X) was around my budget, I am thinking it may be a choice.
The specs was leaked as follow
- display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio
- Screen To Body Ratio may up to 90%
- Waterdrop notch
- Kirin 710
- 18W quick charging
- color options are three - Blue, Black, and Red
- 3.5 mm audio jack
My cousin has a Honor 7X and please with it, but I still want to hear some suggestion, It is worth to wait or purchase comparing it to the latest Oppo OnePlus?
It all comes down to the price, if it was me i would buy it for 50-70 buck more than the regular 7x. Well actually only if there is a way to unlock the bootloader otherwise i wouldn't since all those great "specs" could easily mean nothing if im stuck to EMUI configurations.
Edit: Well l guess your mom wouldn't care custom roms and stuff like that anyway haha. If so i would also look into motorolas, they might have slighly worse camera and specs but Ive heard they are very responsive, with a cleaner OS and supported for a longer time (updates wise).
It seems great for the price, but I'm straying far away from Huawei phones now, since they decided to be assholes to the development community.

I searched Honor 8X for more information and then saw these promo images leaked. It seems that Honor use all the advanced specs on it, although couldn't be confirmed now.

Huawei has one of the best AI's. Got a chance to check someone p20 lite and the camera is really good with multiple options. I heard that Huawei and Honor shared same technology as Honor is Huawei's subsidiary. I guess Honor would use AI function on this new phone.
---------- Post added at 01:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:18 PM ----------
BTW, comparing to Xiaomi A2, Redmi Note 5 and Honor 9 lite at the price around $250, their screen to body ratio are just more than 70% , I quite doubt 8X's will be up to 90%.

I've seen some people submitting more than 1 design at the site, so I was wondering if this was allowed and if I could too post more than 1 design?

We asked you to leave your reviews of the Honor 8X in this thread. Here are some of the reasons people love this phone.
At the heart of Honor 8X is the powerful Kirin 710 Chipset. The SoC is built on the sophisticated 12nm manufacturing process which makes it 75% more efficient that the previous CPUs. The CPU comprises of powerful Cortex-A73 generation-based cores and also features a powerful Mali G51 GPU to tackle complex graphical needs.

Camera is one of the highlights of the Honor8X . It comes with dual rear camera with a 20 mp primary camera and 2 mp secondary camera with f/1.8 aperture and used Al technology. The front facing camera is 16 mp with f/2.0 aperture and the camera also include other mode to look the pictures beautiful. The camera made different from other phones.

The Performance of the phone is good. While you can't play Fortnite Mobile, you can easily play other games without lag like Asphalt 8/9 or the recently released Call of Duty. And if you like to play PUBG the in built GPU-Turbo is an excellent Optimization that increases the Performance and reduces battery usage. The UI is also smooth in day-to-day usage and I hardly found any Lag. App Opening is quick and phone has no problem keeping up. Even with several apps open in the back ground, the phone didn't lag.

It has premium look with 91% STB and minimal chin which is undeniably impressive with its glossy textured glass back finish with its dazzling light reflecting properties, metal trim, notched display, and eye-catching looks all around.

With massive 3750 mAh battery and fully optimized EMUI 8.2, Kirin 710 and GPU turbo, battery does really well and last for over a day with moderate to heavy usage. Various inbuilt battery saving technologies are an added advantage here which preserves the juice for those critical hours. Even though, phones come with a massive 6.5 inch screen, I would say battery life is excellent on this phone and I could easily get 8 hours of Screen on time and over 1 day of battery backup.

you are getting a 6.5-inch FullView IPS LCD display with FHD+ (1080x2340 pixels) resolution, giving a 91% screen to body ratio, which is difficult to find in smartphones coming at this price range. The screen is immersive enough and fortunately the notch is not a distraction here.

The cameras are an absolute delight to use as well, both front and back cameras have everything a flagship device camera has and portrait mode looks stunning with really good edge detection.

@XDARoni while I appreciate these posts and like the fact that Honor wants to communicate with the community, I'd more like a post regarding the Software. In the above mentioned review thread I also mentioned that the Software of the Honor Phones (EMUI) is TERRIBLE. So a thread in which Honor asks the community on how they can improve their software is what I'd like to see. It doesn't have to be a give away. It doesn't even need to have a reward. Just a simple chat with a Honor Rep in which we can discuss what we don't like about EMUI, how can it be improved and most importantly see it implemented. For example in the thread Ask the Honor 8X Product Manager a Question, we asked questions, the winners were announced. Yet not even a SINGLE Question was answered. In fact some of the users had to answer the Questions. Similarly in this thread ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-10/how-to/understand-chat-honor-ceo-friday-t3793317/page37 ) same thing happened with the fake CEO. Thanks.
