Need help with notifications please - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Hi all,
I have just got my 46mm galaxy watch but i am having trouble with the notification management on the watch.
It's most probably me not using it right as i am used to wear OS but I'm hoping you can help me out.
When i get an email for instance i open it on my galaxy watch... Press the 3 dots on the right hand side and press the bin icon... This clears the notification from my watch but if i open my phone and go into the email app the email is still sat there.
What i am wanting is to completely delete the email from the account when i delete it on my watch not just clear the notification.
Can anyone help me out please?
Thanks in advance.

This is the problem i mentioned in this topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ons--answers/email-app-missing-watch-t3865938
Only if you have Samsung Smartphone you can interactively work with mails. Note that you do not have mail app in the watch ( as I do not have )
You are just working with notifications form your mail app on the phone. You are only clearing notification- not the message.
Mayby someone make a full blown email app in the Galaxy Store - that is the only hope
Got it ?
P.S. I cannot understand stupidity of Samsung software team to make it this way

Hi, thanks for the reply. I am using a Samsung Galaxy note 9. I have the the Samsung email app on the watch and i use that email app on the phone.
On wear OS if i press delete it actually deletes the email from the account but this isn't the case on the Samsung watch it will just remove the notification on the watch / phone but leave the email sat in the account which is a bit poor in my opinion compared to wear OS.
Hopefully someone knows a way to delete the email straight from the notification same as you would on the phone from the pull down notification tray without having to physically go into the email app to do it.

From what I am reading, the access you have on your Galaxy Watch to your non-Samsung device is purely notifications. If it was a Samsung device (This is what I am hearing), you could get a native watch app that allows this but in your current set up, you can only clear the notification, not the email.

Hi. I am using a Samsung galaxy note 9 with the Samsung galaxy watch. I can go into the email app on the watch to delete the email but I want to be able to delete straight from the notification not just clear the notification and still have the email sat in the email account.
Thanks

And so the plot thickens...
I have tried to adapt to the way tizen seems to deal with email notifications and i am now opening the notification and pressing the "open in app" option and then long pressing the email and deleting from there on the watch. A bit of a long way around compared to wear os but OK it will have to do i suppose....
Now i am finding that if i do the method above the email deletes from the account, but the notification will still sit on my phone until i remove it on the phone despite already actually being deleted from the account :crying::crying:.
Who at Samsung thought this was all OK and was a good way of managing email notifications. It is completely broken

Solution found
I found following solution to satisfy author of the topic ( and me either ):
Note: I do not have Mail app on the watch as I do not have Samsung phone - all happens through notifications from Email app on the phone
1. Find and install TypeApp mail client from Play Store
2. Configure client above as you like - it is feature rich and bit messy but once done you will be satisfied
3. Important: in TypeApp: Setting-Notifications- Advanced Notifications ( top of screen ) ENABLE: Extended notifications for Wear & Nougat
4. Enable notification push to watch in Galaxy Wearable phone app
And now: when you receive notification on the Watch, click 3 dots on the right. You will note 2 wastebaskets icons. Touching upper icon deletes email and notification, touching lower icon clears notification from the Watch only
Happy Tuesday
P.S. I do not know how it works with other Emaill apps. Your comments are welcome.

Galaxy Nexus, notifications and email check frequency

I noticed that the Nexus misses LED notifications and won't go out to check for email unless I wake the phone and open the email app. Pretty annoying. Does it have anything to do with the sleep setting on the phone ?
For example: I work in an environment where I can't always pick up my phone, that's why I prefer the LED notifications. Someone called through the land line and asked if I recieved an important email, they also texted. I wake the phone and there was a text with no LED notification and no email. So I opened the email app and then 10 came through. It is set for 15 minute intervals and SYNCH on all accounts. WTF ?
Later I wake the phone, to find 2 voicemails and no LED notification. It is also set to vibrateand ring on calls and sometimes I believe it doesn't even ring, or vibrate.
Anyone else having this issue ?
I can't say I've had this problem but I'm pretty sure the notification led does not light up indefinitely. You would need a third party app like light flow.

I am having the exact same issue and it is really starting to annoy me (especially since I spent $900CDN to get this device). Anybody have any suggestions on a fix? I have to enter the email application in order to receive new emails. I have it set to check for emails every 10 minutes, it just doesn't.
There is another options for mail - you can setup different notification options for each label (folder) - by default you have there only for inbox. For gmail - there are also options for other labels too (and by default - there are no notifications specified).

I wonder why it worked for a few days and then quit.
Sync is fine here. And so is indicator. Used lightdlow for a bit but the repeated superuser requests made me uninstall

It might be because of your mails belongs to Inbox and Priority box or other labels and you might have notifications and synchronization only for some of them. Not really sure.

Do you have to have the sync feature enabled for it to work. I want to be able to delete emails from my handset only so sync is not important to me. I just can't seem to get my device to "grab" the emails unless I physically open the email app.

The phone will not poll for emails at your set interval (ten minutes) if sync is not on. The reason you get emails when you open the email app is because it auto-syncs when you open the email app.

Actually, mine worked at the beginning too, but for the last 2 days, nada. Just turned the "sync" feature on but it doesn't seem to have cured the problem.
I've found that my "sync" keeps turning itself off, somewhat randomly. Which would cause the problems mentioned in this thread. So just because you set it on doesn't mean it stays on.
I have a thread on it in the Q&A thread. A poorly visited thread =(

This does annoy, greatly.
EDIT:
Oops, realized this would affect google account related stuff (gmail, voice) but probably not email related notifications, since they are not 'syncing' an account, but just polling a server.
on that note, go to your Gmail account under accounts and make sure mail is set to sync

Ahh... found out my problem. User error.
On the power widget, I thought the rotating arrows was for auto-rotate.
They are not.
Apparently that's the universal sign for SYNC.
Or auto-rotate.

Precisely. That threw me for a loop several times when my brother has come to me asking why Gmail wouldn't sync. The problem is you can (intentionally or unintentionally) hit the "sync" button on the power widget, then delete the widget, and have noooo idea why you're not getting your mail .
Glad you figured it out.

[FIX] Facebook Push Notification

I found a fix that made it possible for push notifications to come through in realtime (for comments, tags etc.). I heard about that BlackBerry simulator solution and this is what i did : I downloaded a BB simulator (for 9300 series of phones or something...basicaly BB 7.0 or so). I logged out the FB app on Android, then i fired up the BB simulator/emulator and i I entered my facebook credentials in the BB's FB app and enabled "push notifications" and i also disabled all email notifications within the app. After that i logged-out and so FB push notifications started coming through immediately on my Samsung Galaxy Try it ,it freakin works! P.s.: i would love to know if it worked for you. And another thing, don't forget to re-login on the FB app on the Nexus and ENABLE NOTIFICATIONS in the Options menu (the first checkmark box just under "refresh interval". Every other things like Event Invite,Messages and Friend Requests don't come through via Push but via refresh interval. Everything else will work through PUSH

For FB settings do you need update intervals enabled? If so, how often?

Facebook app is such a mess.
On my Sensation and other phones, with notifications turned off, I get PERFECT notifications.
Now with my new Galaxy Nexus, with it on or off I don't get any notifications.
Man I hate them.

Yes you need to be signed out of any facebook when you do this trick
So basically if I have the Facebook messenger app installed on my phone, this will not work?
For example I removed facebook app from my xoom. I installed facebook app on my nexus. I also have the facebook messenger installed on my nexus. So can I use this method?
works for me! make sure u remember to sign out of both facebook and facebook messenger on your gnex before u sign in on the simulator
Worked for me.
Just follow the instructions, and remember to log out.

Did this a few months back and its worked for me ever since, on both my incredible and galaxy nexus. It's a shame this is even necessary though. There's so many poor quality apps out there that can handle push notifications, you would think facebook could get it down by now.

thanks so much for this, my girlfriends phone had notifications that pushed and it drove me nuts, i matched all her setting to mine and nothing, i cant believe it takes a blackberry lol. again thanks

Green text check mark

My Asus Zenwatch runs Android 5.0.2 and I have the Galaxy Note 4. Whenever I receive a text message my watch alerts me, but when I try to reply, it vibrates and shows the green check mark with no option for speech, yes or no. The reply function works well for Gmail. I recently has the wear messages app installed l, didn't like it. Could there be a setting from that app still in my Zenwatch or does Samsung's messenger not fully work with Android Wear. I didn't perform a reset of the watch. First Android Wear I've owned.
Try using coffee SMS app it works really good for me. The are preset messages on there and you also have the choice of speaking to send text

Thanks. I found Wear Messenger, but will also check this one out.

Huawei Watch 3 vs 2 - Functions from 2 not available in 3 anymore?

Hi @ all,
I hope you can help me out.
I own the Huawei Watch 2 and got me the 3 now. In 2 you could synchronize the messages from your Smartphone to the Watch and for instance set WhatsApp messages on "read" or delete E-Mails directly from your E-Mail App. With that you could comfortably delete the messages directly from the Watch off the Manage Notifications Screen from your Smartphone and the corresponding Apps which was a great Feature!
Apparently this is not possible (anymore) in 3 or am I missing something? In 3 you only can "delete" the message from the Watch but not directly from the Smartphone.
Any thoughts on that?

Yes you are right. Actually you just remove the notification.
Maybe in some future updates.
