Do you guys create and login with a Huawei ID? - Huawei Mate 20 X Questions & Answers

I was going to link it with my Gmail but it looks like it gives access to third party accounts? Sounds a little suspect...
Do you guys even use this on your phone? Doesn't seem like it's necessary, I don't care about any of the Huawei provided cloud services, at least I think I don't.....

A Huawei Id is helpful.

I get an error with the phone telling me that service is not available in my country (the United States).
Can anybody else in the US log in?

stolen phone and android market

Unluckly my phone was stolen about a week ago. Ignorant thieves didn't change my google account so when I go to android market I can see they're using it and that they changed the sim (I can see which operator they have).
I also blocked the imei but it doesn't seem to have worked because I can see they are still using it. My question is: is there any way to know the phone number of the sim? I could try to track them if it could be possible or it's just the operator? I sooo want my phone back! (even if now I've got a galaxy sl).

Did you install Wavesecure or lookout? If so, they let you track the phone etc...
If you use 2-factor gmail login, you can disable the one-time password that your google account uses.
But without Wavesecure or equivalent, you can't really track the number, unless your network can (and most won't do it, citing "data protection" even when you own the phone).
Stupid laws like this mean technical precautions are best. WaveSecure and other such apps can even GPS locate the phone
Sucks man, I feel for ya... Wishing you the best in your search for these idiots. Give them a firm beating.

While I couldn't condone that, having a GPS position of your device does have many uses, including directing the relevant law enforcement personnel to them, or indeed anyone else who happened to be in possession of the GPL location
I strongly recommend everyone uses some form of tracking app on their phone. There's free and open source ones available...
Well, if they're still using the phone and it's still connected to your Google account, then you can go to the marketplace from your computer, install Lookout on it, and attempt to track it down, lock it, or wipe it. It's worth a shot.
After that, change your google password. It really sucks though that the Market doesn't have an easy way for you to remove a device from your account though. I had my EVO stolen last week, and I looked for hours trying to figure out a way to separate it from my account with no success.
oh oh?
sorry dude very bad for you. change your password from gmail and save the contacts

Ooh smart I forgot about that. Lookout won't do that unfortunately, as you need to set up an account of sorts...
/me wishes you could VNC into your droid phone via google's cloud to phone system, thus negating the issue of NAT.
I wonder... there MUST be an app that allows you to install an app to the phone, that somehow conveys location to you, without entering info on the device...
If not, perhaps we need to work out a way? The issue is how to tell it who to email... Or...
/me sees an idea emerging...
How about an app allowing you to locate phone AFTER it was stolen, without needing to set anything up?
There is!
It's called Plan B (I can't post the link because I'm too noob on this forum, just search the market)
but the market won't let me install it on any phone, I don't know why
my phone wasent stolen but i always thought if it was that they could just use my card info that is stored and buy any apps they wanted my mom uses my captivate now and for the love of god i cant fig out how to take my info out and replace it with hers when i go to add account it still want let hers add any suggestions

[Q] Redeeming free apps

Hi I'm new to these forums and I must say I love them! There's so much useful information!
So I thought that when buying this tablet I would get a bunch of free stuff. (50 gigs of dropbox, free linkedin pro for 3 months, etc...) I can't find any information about this anymore, I'm I missing something? Does anyone have any clue how to do this? I have already registered my device with Samsung btw.
Thanks in advance,
- Olivier
You should receive an email detailing the offers, sent to the address from which you registered your Samsung account. BTW, some of the offers, like the NYT access, begin from the time you register the account, NOT from the time you first access the offer. So, the first time I tried to access the Times premium content, it told me something like my premium access trial had expired, and asked whether I'd like to continue with a full-price subscription?
HA! Not likely...

Yes that's what I thought. I just double checked and I did receive an email after registering, but didn't see any links to get free stuff. In comparison I still had an email from when I registered my S3 with a link to get free stuff. I'm confused about what I else I can/should try... :s

Have you registered your device via the Galaxy Perks page?
Log in to your Samsung Account via a web browser (you can use the above link). Click on your name in the upper right, and select "My Profile". Verify that your device shows up. Sometimes just logging in to your Samsung Account via a web browser seems to trigger it, so it doesn't hurt to try even if you know you already registered your device.
Have you added the Samsung Account to the Note 2014 yet? If not, launch Samsung Apps and sign in with your Samsung Account when prompted. You might need to press the menu button and then select "Sign In" if it doesn't automatically ask you.
If you have, remove the Samsung Account, launch Samsung Apps and sign in again.
If you've done all that, you SHOULD get the "<NAME>, your gift for registering..." email at the Gmail account you specified when you registered.

Google Pay in-store payments not working with Mate 20 X Chinese version

Using the Chinese version in the USA generally with no problems. However, I'm trying to set-up in-store payments with Google Pay and I get a message that says "Added features couldn't be set up. To resolve this, you'll need to contact your bank. You can still pay with this card on Google and across other apps and sites, just like before."
- Contacted Google first. They said my bank needs to restore or reset token.
- Call the card (Chase). They have no idea what tokens are and tell me I need to set the card up with Google.
- Call Google. The lady tells me I need to reset other devices that have Google Pay. I reset both of them. No luck.
- Call the bank again. They tell me the same story.
I'm basically going in circles.
Has anyone experienced this? I also tried another card. My guess is there's some problem with this phone and Google Pay. I searched the internet but haven't really found anything. Can I get Google Pay in-store working on a Chinese Mate 20 X?

Has anyone able to enable Location History

Got my Nokia X7 (parallel import from China) couple of days ago and it is observed that "Location History" is OFF and not able to turn it on. It is annoying without able to share my location with friends and record Google Timeline. Appreciated if anyone can come up with a solution on this. Thanks.

Google Location history is not available in the CN ROM for obvious reasons.
Obvious reason - Google services are banned in China. So, Nokia's CN ROM is compatible with Tencent's location services. That means you cannot use location history.
On a side note, you should consider stopping Google from keeping an eye on wherever you go at all times. Just an advise, the decision is yours.
And.. If you really need it, then you will have to find a way to flash it to the Android One global ROM.
Im not sure about this solution cuz i dont have time to try yet, but some of my guys confirmed it did.
you need to delete "tencent location services" via adb (search for delete bloatware without root), once you done it, gg history location will be used again instead of tencent.
btw, they said that tencent sent data to their server so i dont like it too, will delete it soon.
pls do consider carefully.

Once Google Location History service is enabled on an android device, Google is doing exactly the same thing: one's every move is sent back to a Google server. Google needs those data to provide other related services such as Google Now. Google does allow one to delete Location History data on its server though. Tencent is just doing the same thing Google does with a similar service, but I don't know if it allows one to delete those data at will. If you're worried about privacy, you shouldn't use anything like that at all--be it Google Location History service or a Tencent counterpart.

I know bro. But I'd rather let gg do it, not tencent. Everyday we use ggapps they'r all collecting our informations, with one more it is ok. btw i didnt enable location history since i've used gg account on any smartphone.
1 addition reason I want to delete tencent that I hate it personally vnese hate china spyware things.

I have removed "Tencent Location Service" through ADB shell and was hoping Google Location Service will be used instead, but the result is negative. It still saying "This device is not sending location updates" under Google location sharing. Also, "Find My Device" is not able to locate my current device. I think all these happens is just because Google is not able to see my X7. Appreciated if anyone can help on this

HELP! Cant sign into Huawei account.

I just got my new Mate 20 X and cant sign into my Huawei account. It says I have to link a number with it but, whenver I imput my cell number it never sends me a verification code. I had a Huawei i.d. but, it isnt giving me access to it. I live in the US, im using ATT, and the phone I have is the EVR-AL00.
I'm guessing that, since the phone is the Chinese variant, it's looking for you to verify your Huawei account using a phone number with the format for that region??? I think I ran into the same problem with my Chinese P8 Max and Mediapad back in the day.

Unfortunately, no. Once I realized that my number just didn't play nicely with Huawei's servers, I just gave up. Maybe, somebody here knows more about this and can help.

Try to change to use email to send code instead of phone. This is what I did. If I remember correctly, I clicked the phone number or something below, I was able to use my gmail instead.
Same for me,but with Email Account works
Nice. Good to know that email works. Thanks.
