Getting error: 7 while flashing LOS 15.1 - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Questions & Answers

I am on firmware 8.11.22 , currently have twrp orange. getting error 7 always while flashing LOS 15.1. is it coz of firmware? there is xiaomi's antirollback so is it safe to flash miui 8.9.14 firmware via miflash?

No, ARB Protection not implemented on Mix 2. Have you tried with another revovery?

Yes. Error 7 is always Firmware mismatch. Look up what version the ROM needs.

I have tried all the Roms for the phone and have used all. Currently back to default with root. Just Google Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 FW and get the latest one. LOS is Android 9.0, so you need the FW for Android 9.0.

I somewhat have the same problem but for me I get the Error 7 by trying to flash Omnirom 9.0 every damn time

Use FW 8.9.20+. The link to 8.9.20 is posted in OMNI forum. Or Google Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Firmware and download the latest. Any ROM that is based on Android 9 will give you Error 7 ( Red text error) if you don't have the right FW.

Problem solved. Thanks for confirming that there is no anti rol back in mix 2. flashed fw 8.4.19 and flashed LOS. Enjoying the rom.

How to downgrade from MIUI 10.0.1.0 stable to MIUI 9?

Hi guys! So I made the mistake of updating my phone to MIUI 10.0.1.0 stable from MIUI 9.5.19.0 via OTA. I love the update but I really can't stand how bad the camera is. Especially portrait mode and the excess low light image reduction. Is there any way to downgrade to MIUI 9 without bricking my device? Thank you!
Just download 9.5.19 recovery ROM and flash it using updater
You can flash 9.5.19 and 9.6.4 stable ROM

Have you done this?
I heard 9.5.19 is ARB3 and 9.6.4/10.0.1 are ARB4
Plus I can't find links on the MIUI rom page. They were taken down

Hi! Thanks for this information. Did you use the official MIUI 9 full ROM zip or a modded one with the firmware folder removed so there's no ARB?

I meant if someone else stucked with eu rom
Installed and seems quite a bit quicker than the official Xiaomi rom. No issues so far. I did use TWRP to format the entire phone (removing all traces of the original Xiaomi rom) before installing just in case that helps anyone.

Hi there,
because GCAM doesn't work with Android 10 MIUI 11 Beta - can i downgrade my Mi Max 3 with Antirollback Protection from MIUI 11 (XIAOMI.EU 20.1.16 Android 10) to MIUI 11 (XIAOMI.EU Stable Android 9)?
Thanks

A clean install will do with custom recovery, you can aslo leave internal storage unticked when erasing partitions. You cannot just go back and flash EU rom back to PIE from Android 10 because it will bootloop.
As far as ARB goes, there is no ARB once you are flashing custom roms.

Assuming your bootloader is unlocked and you have TWRP or Orange Revovery, you can do whatever you want. If backup work, go ahead. I suggest using Orange Recovery if you do not have that already.

Wipe all partitions, unless you are keeping stuff in your internal storage don't erase. Othereise flahsing the rom and them flash the current Magisk if you plan to use YouTube Vance or Viper4Android. I think the 12.26 version is Andoid 10. You may want to use the Xiaomi EU Developer Rom 9.11.14 one for Pie, after that it's Android 10. I aslso use that rom too in order to use custom Ressurected Kernel 6.2 Dev/AOSP, and Viper4android
Hello experts,
I wanna downgrade from miui 11 v11.0.1.0 (QEDMIXM) Global stable to Miui11 V 11.0.7.0 (PEDMIXM) global stable, is it safe to downgrade without hardbrick? Secondly, I checked, both roms have ARB level 4 protection. Need your expert advise before going to downgrade.
Thanks in advance

Installing android 9 custom rom on Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with android 10
Please I'm running Android 10 on my Xiaomi Mi max 3 but I want to install Lineage Os version 9 custom rom, Can the downgrade work?

Anyone running an Android Q GSI with Magisk installed?

Anyone running an Android Q GSI with Magisk installed? If so, can you send me the version number and region (Global, China, China Dev) of the stock ROM you are coming from? What GSI are you running and what steps did you take?
I can get Magisk to install with Xiaomi EU, but I prefer to use Pixel Experience Q. The fingerprint sensor works in almost all GSIs now, but I really need to get Magisk working so I can run ANX Camera. When I install any version of Magisk via zip or patched images I get a loop at the Mi logo. If I patch recovery I can boot into the GSI, but Magisk is not showing as installed.
Any alternate methods to get ANX Camera installed would be greatly appreciated as well. I actually don't do much with root access.
hmm

You need an A/B rom, but you can use the Treble Info app on any phone if you are ever unsure. I'm under the impression that any phone shipped with Android 9 or higher should use A/B roms because it should be system as root. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
