Found a reliable network unlock service - T-Mobile LG G5 Guides, News, & Discussion

Okay, for those who have lost hope unlocking this phone, i have found a reliable and fast service on ebay.
After numerous attempts to call t-mobile (I'm from Philippines btw) they weren't able to help me as i don't have an account with them. Costumer service are from PH too fyi.
I also searched this forum and truat me there is no other way than to pay for unlocking, but where? Some say cellunloker can do the job, but for how much? I've seen it and it's like 40-50$. Oh boy! It's almost the price of a used g5.
So i searched ebay to look for cheap unlocking services. I first tried the software from a seller name TMBKILLER, but it didn't work. Glad i got my refund immediately, like 4 days. It was for 20$ usd or 1200php
Then i found this seller, quickpro-unlocks, who sells it for also 20$. But this is cheaper because its canadian dollar. In php it just translated to 800php only. So like TMBkiller, your phone must be rooted on stock android 7.0. The difference with quickpro vs tmb is that quickpro will do the unlocking via remote access.
The process just took us under 30 mins, it was fast. Also this guys are nice and trustworthy. I was happy with their service. It's a hassle free procedure and worth the money.
So this is it guys. This is the only way aside from the official one. Thia process is especially for those who are not in the US like me.
I'm not associated with them. I'm just sharing an answer to a problem. Hope this will help you guys.
Remember that they can only unlock your phone if you are rooted on a stock android 7.0 for LG. And yes, it's a permanent unlock. I'm now running fulmics rom
Btw check the image and just search them on ebay. They are 100% legit!

I unlocked my LG G5 h830 today using the service OP provided and it works. Thank you sir.

Hi!
I am Hungarian but I can not find a user asking a link?

Thanks i' for finding! Here's exactly what service should be because Samsung phones are written ?

They don't show for LG phones. Send them a PM and ask if it still available. They do unlock G5

I built my H830 from parts (case, motherboard, chin modile, screen, digitizer, etc.). The motherboard was supposedly unlocked according to the seller, and sure enough it was when I first started it up. As soon as I removed the bootblock lock however it reverted to network-locked. I used TMBKILLER and it worked like a charm.

It may be. I am not sure for Samsung phones but it worked like a charm for me on my LG T-Mobile phone which was sim-locked (don't confuse this with boot-locked - it is totally different). so I would call it legit. YMMV depending who it is you are dealing with. As I built the phone from various LG G5 parts T-Mobile would not even talk to me. But for me TMBKILLER worked like a charm.

Yea I know the dif on boot-loader and sim
I ended up going through tmobile despite not being a customer on their face book page and they had my imei white-listed for unlock on their server
I was station the tmb killer program is almost identical to a Samsung program i use
I have a h830 I am tired of Sammy and their games got this one out of luck as t mobile has no service stores or anything within like 100 miles of me So just finding a H830 in my area and me landing it is luck
I contacted the guy from this method for sim unlock and he seems legit hope to do loads of business with him in the future

I'd like to get one of these somehow to Europe and unlock it. Anybody happen to know where to get one shipped & how to unlock?

I am also interested in this phone, but it seemed no one really cared about it. A seller called welectronics posted an open box video in youtube, you are able to buy from them at a premium, but I would wait for cheaper ones to float around on ebay. The 4G bands of this phone do not work in Europe but 3G do, and there are websites that sell the unlock code for the network lock.
il like this phone too and waitin an offer (Ihave T-Mobile MyTou Q Huawei u8730)
it's really too bad no one seems to care about this phone.
I wanted to get one but also want to see if anyone here can come up with rooting and flashing instruction for this phone first.
I really want to get a Kitkat rom on this phone.
(FYI, I am still using the T-Mobile G2 I love so much.)
I found a site which sells this unlocked and ships to Europe: http://www.canadagsm.ca/products-LG-Optimus-F3Q-Penta-Band-LTE. 2G and 3G will work; 4G not.
But as there is no alternative ROM available and apparently no way to root, it's impossible to remap the keyboard. Which is a must, at least up here in the Nordics.
Brilliant looking phone. I'm sure the qwerty sliders will make a comeback someday, stupid people just haven't figured out yet that Apple screwed them when they introduced the on-screen keyboard.
But how to get root? Hopefully somebody with skills would also buy this and do Cyanogenmod for it.
Could this be real: http://442kitkat.senuke.info/mp3-0/lg-optimus-f3q-5998.html
If there is a rooting guide and KitKat rom for this phone, I am going to buy one right the way.

Looks real but doesn't seem to have a rooting S-Off guide.
And the download links to the rom are broken.

Also no way I'm downloading from an obscure site a ROM to my phone, without a community which can validate that it does not include anything nasty.
I am wondering if Motochopper or RootMaster can root this phone or not.
I expect that after some sales somebody will create a forum for this phone. It's on T-Mobile where people are used to qwerty's and in their portfolio it replaces the Samsung Galaxy Relay, which has an active forum here.
I am also very interested in this phone.
Problem seems to be getting it out of the grasps of the usual "America is #1 and we don't want to know about any of the rest of you" phone companies...
...Does anyone know if the LG Enact shares the same case design as the F3Q? They both look very similar.
Not sure about Europe, but some South East Asian countries welcome qwerty keyboard phone. What is LG thinking? Can't sell a phone without carrier backing?
The LG Enact has identical spec as the F3Q, BUT it is a CDMA phone for Verizon so it is almost impossible to use outside the US, unless you are using a CDMA carrier and is able to unlock and register the phone.

In this regard then it's not just LG, Motorola too.
Making the awasome Droid4 exclusively for Verizon in US and no GSM version for T-Mobile or AT&T.
I guess Motorola deserve what is happening to them now, guts taken out by Google and being sold to Lenovo as an empty shell.

I know it is CDMA but I was wondering if it was physically identical. I was wondering if you might be able to use accessories like cases made for the Enact on the F3Q, and maybe even change the ugly blue keyboard of the F3Q to the grey one of the Enact.

I really don't understand the design process over at LG.
If I buy the F3Q, the first thing I would do is that out that back shell cover and spray it will some black or pearl-white spray paint.

Actually it has a CDMA and LTE radio and has a SIM card slot. But nowhere else really uses the Band 13 LTE Verizon deploys, so can't really use it anywhere else. Maybe when Videotron starts setting up the C1 band in Canada then can use those phones here.
Contacted a few buying agents in the hope of importing one from the US, but they told me a monthly plan is required for purchasing this phone, so resales are not likely to circulate for the moment.
The ffollowing guide from k1mu worked on rooting my mobile f3q. Also I was able to buy the device out right from a mobile store in California for 339.99 plus tax for a total of 368.04 . This was with no monthly plan. Hope this helps anyone Else out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758

Brilliant. Now Cyanogenmod someone please and I'll get this as my second device, even though I already have a nicely working Samsung Galaxy Relay (with slide-out qwerty also).
Wow, rooted already. This phone is definitely promising.
...I wonder if there's enough of us outside USA that it might be worth getting someone reliable to do a group purchase for us?
I can just see it now, some random guy walking into a T-Mobile store and asking for 26 F3Qs, 18 cases, 6 USB chargers and 5 dust protectors.

What version S4 to get (Carrier, Unlocked US, Korean)?

So I have the S3 and talked the other half into why I need to upgrade!
I'm on AT&T and am using a US Cell S3 w VzW Oreo so am not afraid of porting and making it work.
I do want AT&T NumberSync though, which is why I'm leaning towards getting it direct. But, I've seen a few forums mention getting the Korean version for the 6GB of RAM.
I'm looking to be educated, so please let me know your thoughts. I need it to be cell.

IMO go with Korean. Unless you don't care about paying for additional tablet line and rooting.
I'm able to use my existing voice sim in the tablet and it has a phone app and messaging like a regular phone.
Originally I bought the Verizon version - no oem unlock, requires tablet sim and only 4gb ram
Basically only downside I can see to ordering Korean one through eBay is the time you have to wait for it to get here. Not that bad but not the instant gratification we all want! I never knew about ordering foreign tablets, was always scared off by lack of warranty. But due to how carriers restrict US tablets, I will be buying from Korea every time in the future.

Because the international version lacks a warranty, at least for USA consumers, I purchased a Squareteade warranty.
Being in HK, I'm not sure if a warranty might apply to you or not, or if there is another similar 3rd party warranty available.

so if i don purchase an extra warranty i can get it replaced only if it's damaged or not working properly?
also, does the extra warranty cover all imperfect problems observed including but not limited to those i mentioned above?
and how about rooted device? covered or not? for example, rooted but green lines found later?

Yes. I'm on TMobile can use play store, Samsung dialer as if it were a phone, texting everything. Works great no issues.
TMobile sees it as an unknown phone I notice no throttling whatsoever besides the same video throttling that applies to all phones. (A VPN handles that anways. )

I couldn't get my locked T-Mobile to work so planning to sell.
I bought a Unlocked Verizon G8 and I got it working for the most part but couldn't make or receive phone calls on it. I think the phone app had too much specific Verizon stuff. Ended up returning it
The Sprint version is a mess. Trust me.
I got my locked to Sprint. It works fine so far in the UK when I put my sim in it.

Are you sure it's not unlocked? Mine is brand new out of the box and I just get no Service, and a little note saying invalid sim in the drop down menu.
Has anyone manage to have one of these unlocked outside of going by the book with sprint?
All the services i've asked either said they can't do it, or said they could at first, then just sent me a refund pretty much straight back.
I don't mind paying for the service but it seems nobody is there yet.
Anyone know anything I don't?

They said it was locked to Sprint but also said it would work in UK. I hope you get it sorted. I'm having the same problem with the V50. I'm guessing the o my solution is if someone request the unlocking code from the manufacturer. Which can take a week or so.

The problem for the unlock code with the sprint G8 (and I gather some of the other phones too) is that they don't request an unlock code with an alternate SIM. There's a bunch of other codes you can enter to get the unlock code thing to pop up..... doesn't work.
It looks like the solution for the same thing on the Sprint G7 is for them to remote in using teamviewer or anydesk and work their magic.
I guess I could see if I can get my hands on a properly smashed up, non screen functional, unlocked phone, and transplant the board. But not really something I want to do with a brand new phone.
Partially hobbled by the lack of popularity I guess, you can find someone to do pretty much anything done to a Samsung

Im really hoping these codes work for you (option 2 or 3). I didn't for me unfortunately.
Unlocking instruction for LG G8 ThinQ ?
How to enter an unlock code in a LG G8 ThinQ:
Second option (device doesn't ask for an unlock code with an unaccepted SIM)
1. Start the device with an accepted simcard (example LG G8 ThinQ was bought in Orange you need to insert an Orange card)
2. Go to the dial screen and press “2945#*model number#” (the same way you enter a phone number)
Example: the device is a P999 you need to enter “2945#*999#” or for KU990 you need to enter “2945#*990#” etc…
Third option (accepted simcard)
1. Go to dial screen and press 2945#*71001# or 2945#*20001# as if making a call
2. when a hidden window appears enter the unlock code
Thanks Agent.M
I appreciate you looking into it. I've tried all those codes on mine and they don't work.
From what I gather, Sprint has used some sort of different locking method that can't be undone by entering a code.
It looks like it was the same on the LG G7 and the solution involved cross flashing some software. The services offering to do it all remote in using team viewer or similar and do it for you.
There was a thread running on the G7 forum for it the sprint unlock, this G8 thread doesn't seem to have nearly as much activity on it. And doesn't look like LG is being helpful with unlocking the boot loader.
I'm a bit sad, I put a lot of thought into which phone to get. We've only got the G8s locally, and it's not quite the same phone.
I'm going to return it and I guess burn the $100 in postage, return postage, restock fees etc. I'm not really happy to sit on it for another 6 months until someone works out an unlock for it. With my luck, someone will probably crack it next week after I send it off.
Unlock codes don't work on this phone.
There's no way to enter it.
Also. Suspicious post is suspicious.
It kinda sucks that this phone still can't be unlocked from Sprint using a 3rd party option. Because of the lack of attention, I'm afraid that LG phones might be leaving the scene just like HTC.
I ended up returning my g8 and getting a v40 new unlocked locally.
It's freaking enormous but we only got the g8s here which isn't any smaller.
Hence chasing the g8. I wanted something a sensible size.
My sprint phone have a major issue, it was randomly rebooting several times per day. I got sick of it and did a full reset, it made things even worse, I somehow lost the sprint boot up logo and now it just endlessly reboots until I shut it down completely.
Is there anyway to do flash it back to the original stock firmware?
My Sprint G8 (sim unlocked) from america is working with my Irish sim on GSM/UMTS only.........so no mobile data. There doesn't seem to be an option to add an APN.
It cost me 400 dollars including shipping and duties.............kinda expensive for a pocket camera!!!
Love the phone and will go to any lenghts to get it sorted.....but it's not looking good.

I'd love to hear details......did you buy the phone from US seller or did you bring it to the UK yourself, after using it on Sprint in the US?
Did your UK SIM register on your UK provider and have you got mobile data?
Could you post some screenshot from your "about phone" menu and also your APN setting from your Network menu?
I can't get my Sprint G8 working in Ireland on my data network (works on GSM, calls and texts only)

I'm having the exact same issue with my LG G8
- As We only have G8s in EU, I bought AT&T G8 from US eBay. Used it for a month without any issues and then suddenly MM#6 error.
- Went to AT&T "unlock phone" page and entered my IMEI. It said the phone is lost or stolen.
- Contacted the eBay seller, they told it should be unlocked and sent me an unlock code. I entered the unlock menu (2945#*820#) and all options gave the same result "Phone is not Personalized", which should mean that there is no lock on the unit and I did not have an option to even enter the unlock code. But there is still the MM#6 error.
So a bit clueless as to what to do now and based on this thread it seems like there is no solution to this. The phone seems to be locked by some other method.
I have never owned an LG phone before and just wanted to try it out. Guess it's an expensive lesson
edit: just after posting this, I got answer back from my carrier - the phone is blacklisted. So that's and anticlimactic end to the story
It's a pity......the handset is amazing.
There are a community of people trying to get this sorted.
The problem seems to be that your phone is trying to register on the ATT network and it can't........and there is no way to change the settings needed for it to register onto your network.
Can you post a screenshot of your APN screen in Network Settings.

Need help with Verizon Galaxy Note 10+ temporary lock.

Hi everyone,
I've got smashed Galaxy Note 10+ from eBay, fixed it and found out that it has a kind of carrier change temporary lock. IMEI is clean, not blacklisted or anything. Technically the phone is unlocked and it fully works with my non-US carrier SIM card for around 5 min or so. But after that a ridiculous nonsense message about carrier change pops up and the phone becomes blocked. It looks like the phone is connecting by itself with Verizon servers, they detect other carrier SIM card and block GSM functionality. I flashed international U1 firmware already but it didn't help. Verizon tells some 60 day activation cap - the phone will be unlocked automatically after 60 days since Verizon account activation. Is there any way to fix it / block the phone from communicating with Verizon? I have no idea how long should I wait since the phone was wiped before sale.
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like the seller might have received an insurance replacement due to the damage. Maybe the phone is blocked by Verizon because it should have been disposed of and/or should no longer be used in their network. Just a guess.

The phone is not going to be used in the USA. Again, it works for few minutes. It's not blocked straightaway.

That's just the way the network lock works.....you'll need to wait the 60 days...(probably closer to 30 now...but no way to know)
If you can't wait there are paid solutions that you can use... cell unlocking services.
No amount of firmware changing etc will have an effect on the network lock.....sorry.
Also i disagree with the other poster....sounds like you confirmed its not blacklisted....what you're experiencing is the typical network lock behavior.....pay or wait it out.
Btw any before and after pics?
What did you pay for smashed device? How much spent repairing?

I paid US$230 for smashed device, $320 for screen assembly with housing, $15 for back glass cover (haven't receive it yet), $40 for S-pen. Screen assembly is original despite being bought from AliExpress. It looks like brand new now. Just waiting for back cover and unlock.
Yikes! That thing got brutalized
Not a bad deal....too bad the damn screen assemblies cost so much!
Thanks for the info.

This is why I like and dislike Samsung Galaxy flagships. Screen is always damn expensive but the possibility to fix completely smashed device is very high. Actually I repaired few Galaxies in much worse condition than that. At the same time, recently I had an iPhone XS Max with relatively light screen damage and was unable to repair it due to face ID failure (logic board fault). Cheers!

Hi everyone,
I've got smashed Galaxy Note 10+ from eBay, fixed it and found out that it has a kind of carrier change temporary lock. IMEI is clean, not blacklisted or anything. But after that a ridiculous nonsense message about carrier change pops up and the phone becomes blocked. I live 13000km away from USA so the call to Verizon could be not cheap. I had an online chat with them via Messenger and they asked me my Verizon account details to answer my question. Obviously I don't have them. From now I'm looking for not crazy expensive unlock service.

Just had one more conversation with Verizon. It seems that they're bloody dickheads! They claim the Verizon does not lock phones which is pure lie. And their temporary carrier lock system is a bloody mess. They're unable to manage it at all!!! Just look at my conversation history with Verizon support:
"We greatly appreciate this (IMEI) information, Victor. After further review, we do show that this IMEI is not currently showing a carrier lock to our network....
I know this is confusing and that you just want to get full use out of that phone. While we don't lock any locks on the phone, it is true that takes 60 days from sale of the phone for a phone to be unlocked. We would suggest that you get in contact with the seller of this phone and instruct them to get in contact with Verizon or alternately, reach out to the selling platform you used and your local carrier. Keep in mind also that Verizon sold phones are not guaranteed to work with other carriers. We would not be able to provide any further support beyond this. I hope this helps clarify and if you have any additional concerns, we are happy to help out. "

No, it's just a standard SM-N975U, not a Verizon branded one. Actually I was able to easily flash it into unlocked N975U1 version. But still that damn Carrier change message pops up and blocks GSM capability.

As I sad earlier, I had a chat with Verizon twice regarding this phone. They checked it by IMEI and told me that it is NOT SIM locked. This is the only useful piece of info I've got from them. Despite of that, they were unable to help me with that Carrier Change issue sending me to original owner / Verizon account holder of this phone. So it's not a carrier variant and not sim locked.

i think ur confused lol... if it was originally sold by verizon then it is a Verizon Variant..
and clearly you are sim locked as thats the exact message ypu get when its sim locked as well as you dont get service with the other carrier..
based on what u posted whoever you talked to has no idea what theyre talking about especially if theyre telling you they dont lock phones which meansthey also didnt even bother to look up their own policy for it and instead just made stuff up off the top of their head..
but hey, dont take my word for it.. it wont work as u need tho until vzw unlocks it or u pay for a service to unlock it.

Yes, I'm confused indeed. Confused by Verizon which says one thing but does other. They clearly said that "we don't lock our phones" but apparently they do it! Bloody bastards!
Did you manage to unlock the device?

Question T-Mobile Network Issue

Hello
Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction for help or assist.
I purchased a unlocked Galaxy Z Fold3 off of Swappa.com. Ive purchased many of phone off this site and had no issues including this Fold3. When I got the phone i placed my T-Mobile sim in the phone and all was fine since the phone was unlocked. When T-Mobile pushed the Android 12 update out we all know it caused issues with the phones network. Since i did not purchase the phone from T-Mobile i sent my phone to Samsung so they could fix the issue. Since they knew of the issue with T-Mobile they replaced the motherboard of the phone. Well that sim locked the phone to the original carrier which i found out was Spectrum Mobile. Spectrum states they cannot unlock the phone because they cannot see the IMEI on their network. T-Mobile sees the IMEI on their network from when i used the phone before the update, but they stated that since the original carrier is Spectrum, they have to unlock the phone. Samsung states that one or the other will have to unlock the device because they do not have carrier unlock codes even though they replaced the motherboard which cause the phone to lock again. After weeks of the back and forth i paid a site to give me a unlock code for the phone via Spectrum Mobile. the code they sent did not work and they refunded me my money. But now im stuck with a brick unless i get a Spectrum Mobile account. The phone works fine on their network but i refuse to get their internet service so i can get a mobile account just to use the phone.
Anyone have any advice as to how i can get the phone unlocked again? I reached out to the person i purchased the device from and they didnt have the unlock code. Also the IMEI is clean because Samsung, Spectrum, and T-Mobile checked it.
Right now, you can either pay for an unlocking service or, and this is the REALLY hard part, wait until Spectrum's IMEI Database is updated with the new IMEI for your device. This will come from Samsung when they Sync, but no telling how often that is.
The bad thing is, it can take weeks or a month or more. No one knows.
If you are in need RIGHT NOW, I would look for a good Unlock Service and pay them, but it can also take a while with how new these phones are.

I have an Unlocked Fold 3 also now using the T-Mobile network and keep experiencing network connectivity issues. In placed where I used to get good 5G signal now I only get LTE and sometimes my data connection drops to H or H+, sometimes just R for roaming.
So they believe the Android 12 update killed the Motherboard in our phones for T-Mobile? Also how long did it take to get your phone back from Samsung after the repair?

Samsung sent me a shipping label that was two day shiping to them. it took about a week or so to get back. Yes, something with the T-Mobile Android 12 update caused an issue where Samsung has been replacing the mother board of the phones. I found out when i was looking on T-Mobiles forums and a person stated that is what fixed theres. So i contacted Samsung and told them about the Andorid 12 update causing the issue and they had me send it in since they knew of the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have had my Fold 3's screen fixed in the same day by going to a local UBreakiFix, any idea if they can also do the Motherboard swap out?

@Talderon ive tried two unlock companies so far and neither have been able to unlock the phone. The person i bought it from wants me to mail it back so they can unlock it with a pc. Not going to happen so i won't get it back LOL. I think im just going to get on a friends Spectrum Mobile account and wait 30 so they can unlock it. Think thats my only choice.
If I'm on Google Fi (Which is T-Mobile) is it better for me to get the T-Mobile version of the phone off of Swappa/eBay so I don't run into these issues?
Just buy the samsung unlocked version and then flash the t mobile rom to I have the u1 one version I never had any issues with using t mobile on my z fold 3 and you need the rom bc its helps with towers bc I was using verzion rom on t mobile and I didn't get all the service or 5g uc always buy us unlocked version never buy carrier ones bc it's just easier to flash the rom you need than buy the carrier one bc it's can be relocked at any time bc when I bought t mobile version s21 it's locked the phone so beware

See you shouldn't buy carrier phones don't do that bc you always have issues and it's hard to find unlocking service just resell the phone and just buy you unlocked us version off ebay and then flash t mobile rom and you be good and then you don't never have to worry about having a brick
