Ok. It worked for me when i tried with another laptop.
It installed drivers automatically upon connection and i connected through usb 2.0.
No need to adding extra "./" in the starting of fastboot command if you are in the same directory as fastboot file.

You dont need that "./" or backslash if you are in the same directory as fastboot file. It works fine without it also.

Front portrait mode
I have tried many GCam apks by various devs but can't take front portrait pics. Rear cam portrait works fine in all. Clicking shutter button does not do anything in front portrait. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone with any working apk with front portrait?

Currently using GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.3b1.apk . Also tried GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.1.apk which is mentioned in OP and many others as well.
Disabling diet_burst helped for some time but again the same problem started. I found a workaround, clicking a rear portrait pic and then switching to front portrait works fine.
Do you know any fully working port?

A bit off topic, max pro m1 user here. Can anyone please share stock camera apk for us to try on the m1, our camera ui sucks.

As far as I know both X9006/07 and X9076/77 can be rooted using the X9006/07 method and this particular recovery can be installed on all too...
Also the Gummy CWM...
But as per usual, you are doing this to your own phone and you are, ultimately, responsible... Tha being said, I have the X9077 and swap recoveries all the time...

Official TWRP doesn't work for me. After flashing it through fastboot the recovery has a black screen. Hardware-buttons are working though, so only the display part of the recovery is broken. I went back to TEAM Gummy Find 7/Find7a TWRP Recovery V2.7.1.0 which is fine for now. I will try it again later next week or so.

Ok, got it started... First, install the minimal tools to c:\android - No spaces in the path. Second, make sure UAC is off. As far as the filename, I left it the original filename, no .zip on it, and used adb sideload {big long filename I'm not typing}

Thanks for the info! Four questions, please:
Do we know if this is a beta release, or is it the final release that's soon to push OTA? (For those with the beta, does this release match any build number you've had?)
Does your Device Status still say Official after this update?
Does Samsung Pay still work after this update?
If your phone is encrypted, do you need to decrypt it before updating?

also its not beta software its the real deal. PD6 was on the att server for the s6 and that is what was released. PE5 is newer so I would say its prob the final build.

Thanks, I was hoping for that possibility.
Someone elsewhere remarked that the sideload installation of PE5 wipes the phone. Can you confirm? And if so, is it expected that if we wait for the OTA, that'll wipe the phone too, or will that likely leave our setup in place?

Makes sense. I'm tempted, but also not in the mood to do a lot of setup afterward.
If I do a backup first, using Side Sync, do you know if that's likely to be restorable after the MM sideload?

No you need to connect from the side for Adb and fastboot commands to work properly on ASUS ROG devices, especially fastboot commands.
@dungnghien
maybe you try to use an older adb version than the device can support
download my tools
asus-cmd : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PZsY8xSKPOVVYHi3sy4cg3FkSBjl8SOc/view?usp=sharing
cmd : https://drive.google.com/file/d/14x6wVdKgTBrPTod3iWFHrmr-2BY6m5k9/view?usp=sharing
copy them to adb folder and double click on ASUS-cmd
post a screenshoot
this version work with my zenfone 5Z and 6 ( ZS660KL )
you can download it here : https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
edit :
- minimal adb version for rog phone 2 is 1.0.40 version 28.0.0
- maybe also an OS computer problem :
with some old windows you need a full adb version not minimal ( like the link )

I was curious about that myself. Not sure why the side port has the higher specs, like 3.1. Which means if you want to transfer anything to an OTG and take advantage of that speed, you have to plug it in the side. For the record, I would gladly pay extra money to have 3.1 on the bottom as well
The reason I mentioned it, because on the first generation ROG phone fastboot commands wouldn't run unless you mount from the side. So I suspect they didn't change their implementation. Personally I haven't tested it yet on the ROG 2 but it is my guess.
adb and fastboot is not plug and play , so connect always in the same port
my zenfones are connected with a front port

Thanks for the mention dude!! Glad you got it working and for the tutorial...
Hi, Compare to stock rom, what kind of experience with gsi? Anything didn't work? Pros and cons if you can mention. Thx
Great to see this development. Hopefully we can get 120Hz running someday, and we'll be set.

There is no difference with GSIs (the g stands for generic) works as is on both.
The distinction between WW and CN is only relevant to stock ASUS firmware

What is GSI?
What can GSI do?
This is some kind of daily driver or something?
What we lost if we put this rom?
Can this method be used with the original rog phone? I'm interested in getting Android Q. :fingers-crossed:

Have you run the built in tests;
Try running CIT Mode and run test on all cameras...
To enter CIT Mode Dial *#*#6484#*#*
Check if all cameras are working on CIT Mode

What's your plan after your phone being unlocked?
same problem, since the update to android 10 (at the moment a MIUI global 12.0.1) ==> cant use portrait mode : "cant connect t ocamera" . then i get freezes.
CIT teset says, that rear sub camera fails.
I dont think i broke the cam. it seems to be related to the miui 12 update ( android 10).
I dont know how to solve this, and its pretty annoying
Nope still not working after reflashing via fastboot latest ROM

I tried this and turns out the cameras are not working - master, twin and vice back camera, all are crashing
Today my camera app broke.
It says "can't connect to camera", "waiting for camera" or stays at black screen.
I tried wiping data/cache.
I did test using hidden menu and all cameras are working.
Other cam apps are working but I prefer stock one.
Phone is Xiaomi mi 9 lite with lastest update MIUI 12.5
Please help. Thanks.
