Spotify and Play Music, it only does so in headphones. No complaints while using it on the stereo, i guess because they are always so loud

If you use headphones specially Bluetooth with mic then audio quality is automatically changed, maybe that's why you where experiencing background noise. Stereo mode is recommended for music.

Check the apk attachment seems to work for me

The app in OP is not by Dolby. It's just a renamed app. The real name of the app is LifeVibes MusicFX by NXP Software. Here's the original apk. All credits to the app developer(s).

Thanks for the app. Works without a glitch and I'm very satisfied. Thank you.

Thanks. It improved my music quality.

Sounds rubbish to my ears. Very tinny and lacking bass and with weird phasing. Not good for music, that's for sure.

I'm third to stock Samsung music...but i do think Dolby with original headset is far from enough, it'll need better headset to feel the difference...
Sound from phone speaker? Personally, i don't really expect it much from a phone, virtual equalizer or bass boosting improvements from apps might works, but yeah i don't think it'll bring noticeable differences...

[APP][PORT][JB/KK] XPERIA Z1 Walkman + Clear Audio

Hello.
For everyone that wants an alternative for the stock Motorola Sound Effects and the Google Play Music Player. I installed this MOD made by ibanez7 and it worked in my Moto G.
REQUERIMENTS:
Backup your data
CWM or TWRP Recovery
Root
For install, follow the instructions of the original post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48165168&postcount=337).
NOTE:
Everything works, except Edit Music Info and Download Music Info, I recommend delete the file (system/app/SemcMetadataCleanup.apk) in the Walkman ZIP before flash for avoid FC's.
This MOD is incompatible with another audio MOD's, in this case the Motorola audio effects app is visible but FC's. I recommend uninstall or disable the Motorola audio effects app for avoid FC's and incompatibilities.
The Sound Enhancements Equalizer is compatible with Google Play Music Player.
Did you feel any audio improvement?

Yes, I did. I'm not a music professional, but definitely I feel that is better than the Motorola stock audio effects, specially I feel a difference in bass with Clear Bass feature.
Also I've tried with a bluetooth headphones and the effects works too, for me the improvement it's good.
This works really good!
I listen to music every day and i can hear a significant increase in sound quality when Clearaudio+ is enabled.

Do you just extract, delete the file and then compress it again?
Edit: nevermind I had a brainfart... I got it but for the Motorola audio. What is the actual name for it so I could disable it. Thanks

Sound too low

Hi all,
In my previous android phone (samsung s3) I had the same problem, but i solved it with root and edited a simply file into system to increase (i think) decibel.
With my rooted OP3, i tried to edit a similar file like in the samsung s3 with no results, then i have install viper4android and EX kelnel to boost audio, but the sound increases distorting the file....
Do you have a solution.... ?

Just flash viperarise sounds and sound will be louderand still good quality + dolby sounds
Can you give me link?
I found a thread, but viper4arise give me: i/o error
Edit: Installed with success, but it seems like viper4android.
The problem come when i raise the volume, the bass are distorted.
I usually download mp3 from youtube at 320kbps, i tried also other way like torrent, but audio quality looks the same.
Can you give me a suggest to download music at the best quality? Also if isn't mp3 extension.
Thank you.
Find an appropriate setting for your Headphone in viper4arise. Download kernel files and select in the convolver option, u can get it by a simple Google search.

Any Equalizer not working!

I tried many EQ music apps such as poweramp and also with MusicFX.apk and everytime i switch on the EQ , it makes sound too low. The default AudioFX does seem to work with little reduction in Vol but the effect are not good.
Even using Poweramp the sound becomes too low as soon as i enable the EQ.
Can anybody try it and find out the Solution..?
I have the same problem when I play music over usb c. On Z Play the output is much better and that wasn't a flaggship. What can we do and can tell me anybody what's sound dac is build in? Is it 24-bit? On bluetooth all is fine (speaker box), but I would like to play music over usb c in good quality and especially with power, too.

Audio Balance Settings

Hi community.
My wife has a ear disease and she is deaf on the left ear.
I can't find default android system audio balance settings for set audio on the right ear when she uses her BT headphones (because the sound vibrations hurts her left ear).
I searched in Play Store an app that can help me to do this without success.
Thank you

Thank you barttheman for reply.
I attached screenshots about redmi note 8 pro's (android pie) accessibility settings menĂ¹ where there isn't audio balance option.
I also tried equalizer pie (free and pro) but It doesn't make any audio changes (audio balance, equalizer presets, etc with or without wired headphones, BT headphones, nothing), even in my LG G7 Thinq too.
this is screenshot from my access. settings, turn on mono audio and balance will show.

Does your 4th photo not show the Ballance.
If you cannot find an software fix, you could always buy an audio balance adaptor like the one i have linked below.

You can download the "sound amplifier" by Google which is an accessibility app and according to my experience with it I think it will solve your issue.....the app was announced as a feature of Android 10 but was posted to play store for anyone to download if their version of Android is supported.
I have not tested the app as an accessibility app I only checked it out of curiosity

Sound amplifier works like an ambience sound amplificator using the phone's microphone but ot doesn't work with media played by the phone.
