What do you mean by "official"?
... Issues? Problems?
In what is this different from Rama LOS16?

Can you keep this topic updated with newer releases? I don't have play store and telegram so i can't make an account.

I am probably an old fart but it seems the all the young guys has gone completely social by now and such an old to like a forum is not a good place to be.
I know it's sad but I also think is the future I also wonder what it means for the open-source in general and my thoughts are not very positive

Open-source is going fine. Gitlab, Linux and so on are all evolving.
I think the problem here is a lot of developers are more young and hobbyists so they do what they grew up doing. Living in social media and with the smartphone.
As you can see, LineageOS official posts things on their website. It would be extremely unprofessional to do things via telegram. This is why kids here do like that. They don't care very much. This is why you see roms being adopted and abandoned in a matter of weeks too.

I reluctantly signed up to Telegram just for this and so am not a regular user myself. I'm trying to cut my use of messenger/soc media not increase it but will check in every now and again. I've messaged @mdeejay to ask if he can do a LOS16 thread - he has them for his other ROMs. If anyone knows of a Telegram to RSS feed or any other way of getting messages out automatically I'd like to know. Not ideal for now but I'll try.
The ROM works fine for me.

INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 11 to your Galaxy Nexus (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Do a Nandroid backup!
2. FULL WIPE (Data, cache, and dalvik cache)
3. Install the ROM
4. Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from earlier CM 11
1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Was it a hard reboot? Get me the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred
NIGHTLY BUILDS
Are HIGHLY experimental. Do not post issues to the issue tracker. Chances are the CM team already knows about the issue and are working to fix it. Be patient flash the next nightly. Complaning about battery life or any number of issues will not change a thing as to that these are EXPERIMENTAL builds!!!
M-Series
Something we have learned over the past few months is that if you don’t release, someone else will do it for you. Since we are open-source, we absolutely encourage it! Unfortunately, the quality of unofficial builds can vary, and we are serious about quality. Of course nightlies are always available, but we realized that having something that is a bit more stable on a more frequent basis is important. Starting now, we are rolling out our M-Series releases. M-Series builds will be done at the beginning of every month. We did a soft freeze of the code base for the last week, blocking new features in order to stabilize. Our plan is to continue this (assuming that the response is good) up until stable release, and onward.
We aren't exactly sure what M stands for. “Monthly”, “milestone”, or perhaps “MINE ALL MINE!”. Whatever it is, I hope that we are meeting the needs of community.
M-Series builds will be available under the EXPERIMENTAL tag. The filename will include the date stamp as well as the M version. These builds should be stable enough for daily use, and we encourage feedback and bug reports.
RELEASE CANDIDATE
Everything is believed to be working at the time of release.
THE FOLLOWING ISSUES ARE NOT CM PROBLEMS, AND CAN NOT BE FIXED IN CM:
* Force closes / "boot loops" / bad permissions / etc when using Titanium Backup
* Non-working third-party camera apps that access the camera incorrectly via native code
* Battery usage/bluetooth/wifi/rebooting/etc problems while using a third-party kernel
* Bugs w/ Google apps
* Bugs w/ the recovery image (i.e., turning the screen on when you charge from off)

so put that in the OP instead.
The CM10/JB gapps link on that page is a relatively recent addition (I'd assume coincidental with the official nightlies starting); people who have been flashing the unofficial nightlies (or other ROMs) have not had the benefit of that link, most likely having a direct link from the OP of their ROM's thread, and then come here and get told they shouldn't be flashing if they can't find it themselves. Who does that benefit?

[ROM][JB] Team EOS 3 *JELLYBEAN* Nightlies

Team EOSJB 4.1.2 Crespo4gNIGHTLIES
Continuing on from the success of the EOS ICS roms, we present to you EOS3, based on JELLYBEAN!
It is the goal of Team EOS to develop and maintain the highest performing and most stable AOSP based rom for an array of platforms. For the latest news on Team EOS releases make sure you follow @teameos on twitter and on IRC on Freenode in #teameos.
--
NOTE: Team EOS, it’s members, friends, dogs, cats, and associates are in no way responsible for any loss of data or device functionality. Use this at your own risk!
--
A quick note on Nightlies: NIGHTLIES ARE DEVELOPMENT BUILDS. They are automatically generated every now and then, and represent the compilation of the latest commits to the code repository. While every effort is made ensure that the commits that are accepted are stable and do not have a negative impact to the overall performance and function of the builds it is not possible to test every aspect of a commits impact to the overall repo prior to it’s inclusion in a given build. As a result it is entirely possible that instabilities may be introduced as a result of a given days commits. That is the nature of the nightly system, and the risk that is taken using the latest code changes to the project.
EOS is an AOSP based rom. It is developed and maintained by Team EOS and is the culmination of our own in house development efforts.
Team EOS Nightly builds: http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/nightlies/crespo4g/
G-Apps Package
Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included in the base rom. To install Google Apps please flash the following package after installing the base rom:
Gapps package gapps
--
Features:
Because these are nightly builds the included features are constantly evolving, we do not provide a change log manually. Instead please see the changes on jenkins for your build.
For the most up to date and comprehensive listing of the changes included in this rom please visit http://review.teameos.org
Kernel:
Kernel Note: This rom is currently using the stock kernel, so you can find the sources from aosp.
--
Installation Notes:
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery.
Perform a full wipe (read Factory Reset) prior to installing this over ANY ICS or JB based rom.
BUGS!
If you find strange or otherwise unexplained errors please report them here: https://bugs.teameos.org/ Please include logcats and as thorough a description of the issue and what lead up to the issue as possible. With out this we will be unable to track down these errors.
Want to contribute to the Eos rom? Well you can!

hi,
I've just installed this ROM that looks like great! (and I've ported this thread in another italian forum...)

Would you like to add the volume rocker wake mod, for the "almost broken power button" users like me, and, ever if it's possible, add the "quad lock screen"?
Thanks anyway!!

[OFFICIAL][WIP] Vanir Apache 4.3.1

How many people are tired of not seeing any love for this awesome little device? Well I made sure to change that
Yes, you read that right. The Rugby Smart is officially supported by VanirAOSP.
Now, on to the boring part:
DO NOT FLASH TO THE GALAXY W OR GALAXY S +
Now that that's taken care of, on with the post.
What's working:
- Data
- MMS
- Calling
- Bluetooth
- Updater
- WiFi
- Vsync
- init.d
(more as I remember/fix stuff)
;
What's broken:
- Internal SD (Unfortunately this is a major grievance and is not isolated to the apache. This is a WIP fix)
- Camera (The setup on this is a b!%ch, I'm still working on it)
- USB tethering (Not sure why this one has to be difficult)
- Screenshots (Tied to SD bug)
And since this is official, We don't need a ROM changelog
Credits
Team VanirAOSP for providing the opportunity for officiated support
arco68 for providing the base code needed for source. building
NuclearMistake and DHOMD for hosting nightlies
grumpyspud for his thirst for more. Thanks for testing unofficially

Thirst for more?
I got props omg.
You went out of your way to get the nightlies, so yes .
How are you liking it so far?
I goofed with the 1017 nightly for a little on my break.
Titanium backup actually loaded and kept my location of my folder in the physical SD card. It's never done that till this nightly.
Its way more smoother. What on the changelog (on nuke) made it smoother?
The display drivers from arco didn't agree with their sources so we're using the OpenSEMC one
[/COLOR]Good deal. The gallery, screen print, andcamera issue keep this one from being a Daily driver.
I make a backup of Kemo's cm 9 when I load ur nightlies. If you need me to test things let me know.
I am a decent blackbox tester not a coder.
once the sd issue is fixed the gallery and screenshots should come back to normal. The camera is mainly isolated around the kernel though.

Any news. The thread has been silent for well over a month.
I'm still fixing stuff and nightlies should still be coming out.
So, i guess we should forget about getting a fully working ROM for our beloved device?
Yea the last nightly was in November 2013. I think its a dead phone.
Sent from my SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
It's not dead, just on hold. Moving to CAF drivers requires major kernel updates that I haven't done yet
The download links for the ROM seem to be dead. They are leading me to a 404 error fire truck...

OxygenOS vs OxygenOS Community

This is going to sound REALLY dumb to you guys but I really have Googled a LOT and cannot find an answer.
SO I am expecting to be a oneplus 3 owner sometime next week. I want to get up and running quickly when it arrives so I need to chose my OS.
I want to give OxygenOS a try (I have used CyanogenMod on all my other devices).
What is the difference between OxygenOS Official and OxygenOS Community?
Is one open source? or is the 'community' more of a 'beta' build?
Not looking for suggestions what to run, just want to know the differences between the two OxygenOS variants
Cheers alll !!

oxygen os is the more stable build intended for mass release and community build is sort of a beta software which still has some issues here and there.
I got my OP3 yesterday, and have been debating giving 3.5.2 a try, since the reports are all that it's pretty solid and daily driver worthy. But 3.2.4 has been running so smoothly so far that I think I'm going to just hold off for now. Then again, I could change my mind tomorrow morning and flash all the things.
Ultimately, it comes down to how willing to deal with bugs you are, because it's technically BETA software, and they will be there, and how much you want some of the new features they've rolled in like shooting 1080p 60fps video. That one could be big for you if you shoot much video - because they seem to have the OIS actually working in 1080p now, whereas it is pretty bad in stock 3.2.4.
The new community build rocks (3.5.2) I had all version and the last community is the best for me, plus you have 60 fps 1080p with camera and its really impressive. The rom is really smooth. Its just my opinion after but I tried a lot of rom (miui, h2os,cm13,cm14) and I'm really happy with the community build even without root

With original i got 140k in antutu. I. Community pushed 155k.
It feels More snappy. And it seems the battery holdsup beter. But iam only a 2days op3 user.
The main problem with the Community Build is if you want OTA updates going forward you have to flash the stable build, once it goes live, meaning you have to start from scratch again.
Given the stable build is only a week or so away, and there's not too many changes in the Community Build you may as well wait for the OTA now, in my view anyway.

On they haven't but the latest build seems so stable you'd hope OP would release it as OTA soon.
TBH if you haven't downloaded yet you may as well now wait, given the updates don't look that extensive.

Yes I've been on 3.2.5 and its been running extremely smooth with great battery so I guess I'll wait for another week or so.

oxygen os is the more stable build intended for mass release and community build is sort of a beta software which still has some issues here and there.

Just because the community build contains the latest updates from OnePlus and it is not heavily tested for any presence of bugs, doesn't mean that it has bugs. The 3.5.2 community build, for instance, has no more bugs than 3.2.4, if any.
I will flash tomorrow last 3.5.2 build and there aren't bugs. Future update will be only ported of old features in 3.2.4 build. Now they move on some better colors, trasition and more oneplus style app like the newfull filemanager .

I haven't tried the latest 3.5.2 of the community build, but one thing I didn't like when I tried 3.5.1 was the quick settings. I don't like the small quick settings that appear with one swipe, and I don't like having to swipe twice to access the settings icon. Is there any way to change this in the community build?

No it's still there is 3.5.2 and since it's a feature from nougut I don't think it will go away.
the quick toogle CAST SCREEN is not present in the comm. build.
Is possible to add to the toggle notification panel, and add more than 9 icon?
The comunity build has got many more features but some bugs, for example: i cant use LTE on the newest community build. And the UI is diferent, it doesnt look like stock android anymore.

Yes, we always have to wait, wait waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiit.
Let me put it this way: It is unfortunate that this smartphone only enjoys a last "Unicorn", i.e. the last devloper who seems to be invovled in many things and seems to be, at least at the moment, not very responsive ....
Cheers, dfahren

He has a life to you know. So without any word from him that he is stopping the development for 3C, we are to assume that he is working on something.

Adrian,
who of us has not a private life? We all do and we all deserve one. No doubt about it. However, what I did when I edited the kernel of the Huawei Mediapad or when I wrote my USB-to-Ethernet-Helper even if I ceased developing (because of too little time and other commitments) I always checked the forum at least every two days and provided explanation or at least a helping word as far as I could. I don't want people hanging around waiting for something that is never going to happen. Let's be fair to one another and not waste precious time!
Rom cooking is something that's very laborious and veeeeery time consuming that's why I never went into this business and rest assured I admire those folks who devote their time and tremendous effort to make a new Rom happen. Quite terrific. But it is also true that Rom port users want to enjoy a Rom where the features they want to use are in fact usable. If they need facebook messenger badly and it doesn't work, well they skip the Rom and revert to stock. What else are they supposed to do? But what's the purpose of this Rom then?
Personally, I don't need zillions of Rom ports, I need a working one with a recent kernel with as little bugs as goes. Yes, sure, cooking several Roms with the same kernel and they all suffer from the same bugs because these bugs are hard to squash since they need to be fixed somewhere in the depths of the Android system or even somewhere in the kernel video driver (for instance) is easier than getting right at the culprit. Yes, sometimes knowledge is missing or time or resources, you name it. If there is at least another developer, you can buddy up and support each other. If you are left alone, well, developer support of this type of device is more often than not running out in the near future.
The sad truth here on XDA forums is, we suffer from many, tooo many devices and too few developers for all these devices. Also it is forbidden to charge money for one's development efforts. Donation is ok, but who can live from donations??? Rom cooking takes soooo much time and if you want to do it so that 95% of the people are satisfied with your Roms you need so much knowledge, too. No wonder developers withdraw their favor from old smartphones and turn to newer, more exiting ones, where manufacturer support is better.
Cheers,
dfahren

I understand it man. I feel it. This was they before for me in Galaxy Ace NXT. Development was pretty dead. Until two people came and did some very heavylifting for us who waited a long time for a stable ROM. I was very happy that time. I hope this will change in the near future. Every phone deserve some development. Thanks for your time man. Have a nice day. :highfive:
