Battery drain issue resolved! Don't use Google Messages for SMS/MMS - ZTE Blade V8 Pro Questions & Answers

For anyone who noticed a battery drain issue especially while on the B22 build, I believe I have found the "smoking gun" - It's the Google Messages app (if you have it).
I isolated this by buying / installing a new battery from Ebay and wiping the phone and adding back a few apps at a time. One I installed and switched to Google Messages for SMS instead of the awful stock "Messaging" app it started draining.
I have removed Google Messages and am now using Textra for SMS/MMS. Battery life is now great again. I haven't needed to charge the phone in a couple of days.

Gallery draining battery - disabling Picasa synch does not seemed to have solved it

edit: I just saw that I posted this in the wrong forum. If a mod wants to move it, that would be cool.
Since I got my phone a couple of months ago, the gallery app has been intermittently draining my phone some days. I would force stop it and that would stop the drain. I got fed up and did a search and found it was related to google auto synching with Picasa and some other stuff so I disabled those and left only contacts and calendar to synch on my phone/account.
Seemed to work until it started again a few days later. Gallery is once again draining my battery on some days even though I've never even opened it. Anybody else had this issue?
Google Maps and Google Music do this to me. Or did in the past. I used Titanium Backup to make a widget for both so I can disable them easily when I'm not using them.
Not so simple with gallery though. What rom are you on?

Disabled VZW Apps Causing SMS Probs

I have discovered that disabling the VZW Message+ causes SMS to stick in the sending process. Has anyone else noticed this? And a side note, I installed GSAM Battery Monitor and allowed the root companion to install to priv-app and this caused my system to be worked to the max. My phone was getting hot to the touch. Long story short, after enabling Message+ SMS worked with the stock LG sms app, and after uninstalling the GSAM root companion the heat issues went away. Just got this phone, never saw these issues with my VZW S4.

Facebook messenger keeps dying

Hey! I'm having an issue with facebook messenger since the nougat update(I'm now on OOS 4.0.2) . After turning the screen off messenger and all of its services are killed(I checked in running services), including chathead service and messaging service. Unfortunately with no messaging service I can't receive any messages until I manually start the app. I updated through OTA without factory resetting, after the problem occurred I tried factory resetting but it didn't help. Does anyone know if this is a messenger problem or a nougat problem and of any possible fix?

Go to settings -> battery - > Aggressive doze and app hibernation -> find fb messenger and put it into not optimized app group.
I don't have aggressive doze turned on, also auto close high power usage apps is turned off.
I think your problem should be solved if you gonna use Facebook with chrome meanwhile. It's updating your news, messages and notifications in your statusbar. It's more battery friendly. Or use the app "swipe for Facebook". The official fb-app isn't the best choise - the battery drain is huge. @thalvadzhiev
I'm not sure the problem is connected to the main Facebook app, since I'm getting Facebook notifications(like if someone posted in a group), but I'm not getting messenger notifications.
Try to clear app data and cache of Messenger app, you won't lose your chats, only settings. Then login again and report here again
@thalvadzhiev do what @slmadmax said. It makes sure your messenger won't be killed.

I don't even have aggressive doze turned on. Also I've found that usually messenger survives through the night but once I start using it during the day it starts dying again. Since doze is on through the night and doesn't kill it maybe it is not the one that kills it during the day too.

Then Idk.. U can try it but if it still happens it might be a messenger issue.

Mobile Data issues

I currently have G3 D855 2gb variant running Lineage OS 14.1, running xposed with chromepie, adblocker, app settings, all notifications expanded. standalone appops with google apps blocked from wakelock and autostart (figured this would be problem for gmail and youtube, but i guess its not).
I've been experiencing app sync problems on data, usually mails.
When the phone is connected to wifi, it syncs immediately, whilst on data it syncs much later (gmail for example would notify me couple of hours later, sometimes even days), whether being plugged in or not
With aquamail I managed to reduce that delay with automatic checks every 15 minutes, but the thing, after leaving phone idle, overnight for example, in the morning it would say no access to internet since couple of hours after leaving the phone, but when I wake it up, it syncs up, while on wifi it syncs when the mail is actually received and showing the led notification in the morning. Tried leaving plugged in, same problem. Googled, but its always one specific app and version that has that problem, but the thing is, I experienced this on all apps, including whatsapp, on various roms.
Checked doze optimizations, enabled/disabled that, checked/unchecked restricted background data, tried alternative apps, tried various roms on nougat, marshmallow.
What gives?
Is this an actual problem or just the way how android works?
I have 1.5GB per month data plan, so data is not the problem, and when browsing, never had issues, in many occasions it worked better than on wifi.
I hope I have explained my problem to you.

Have you tried signing up for play services beta?
There was an issue a while back with play services, a beta update fixed most people's issue, just a suggestion.
