HTC 10 App system and battery - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Dears, in the first of using my HTC 10 i was getting 4.5 to 6 hours SOT even over Oreo update, but within 2 months everything changes. i am hardly catching 2.5 or even 3 hours SOT for less 24 hours charge set.
i have tried to delete facebook, twitter, Instagram and snapchat; all social media apps have been deleted but still the same, even thought when i finish charging my phone and just disconnect the charger it will discharge 6% within 1-hour please find a screenshot from today. i start to feel frustrated i am using forcedoze by the way, it gives me incredible performance regarding to the battery after the first 6%, and there is alot of wakeups for maintenance during the night.
also when i connect my phone using Bluetooth to my car it discharge 10% per hour. so what is exactly is happening !!!
i have tried to do hard reset, wipe cache partition.
also the discharge rate when using the phone is too high, only by Android System and google service, it discharge 26% per hour, i have deleted the cache also the data for google play and service still nothing is fixed
still nothing change.

Battery Problems...

I always feel like I get the worst random rogue apps in my battery statistics on all my android devices and it so off-putting. Its either Google services this day, android OS the next, or android system another day. Maybe I'm just dead wrong about this one but should I be getting better standby time than this? I feel like I should but I honestly don't know anymore...
*Edit* Screen on time is 19 minutes if that helps.

I don't think that looks too bad.
Google betterbatterystats xda on Google and download the free apk file from the thread.
Install it and let it run for a couple hours or a day and that will tell you what's draining your battery exactly.

You've only lost 9% in over 7 hours unplugged. Android OS only used 49% of 9%, which basically is less than 5% of your total battery drain in 7+ hours. Looks fine to me. Looks like you probably had some WiFi and syncing going on. Try it again with WiFi when you go to bed. I'm betting your total battery drain will be even less than 9%

Battery drain

Hi,
I have had Sony XZ2 Compact since May, it was great. But starting from a week ago, the battery started to drain fast. I did not install or change the usage habit. For example, in two hours, it would go from 100% to 85%. Any ideas? thanks
Please check in advanced battery settings what is consuming the most of your power, and write us top 3.

Hi to all....since I own this phone, I have an impressive battery drop ... I use it normally, facebook, very few calls, whatsapp, telegram, and little else of applications I use frequently.
if you use it mixed wifi and mobile data, arrive at the end of the day with 20/25% (and most of the time I keep it in airplane mode, almost 8 hours, at work).

I don't know particular applications that consume ... the drop is noticeable, in little more than 3 hours I go from 60% to 40%

Extreme Stand By Battery Drain

Normally my stand by battery drain is no more that 0.5%/hr. For the last week or so it's been REALLY bad. About 2.5%/hr.
It looks like the cause of the drain is Android System and Android OS. I have tried restarting and clearing app cache on the Android System, Google App and Google Play Services but the problem remains.
Here is last nights results. Battery should be at maybe 97% but instead it's all the way down to 84%. I'm still on the June update and haven't installed any new apps in several weeks.
I lose about 5 to 6% in 15 hours standby
My standby drain is fine but on Android P DP4 I have noticed the google play store showing up for about 1.5 - 2 hours of battery drain. Anyone know what that's about?
Got 0.4%/hour last night with DP4.
Edit:
Having issues with uploading screenshots. Will try again later.

[5.1.3] AndroidOS constantly downloading data in the background causing battery drain

My OnePlus 5T running the latest Oxygen OS 5.1.3 started having a battery drain issue since yesterday. Battery life went from almost 2 days to around 4-5 hours suddenly.
I checked around the phone and found out that "Android OS" is keeping the phone awake at all times since it continuously downloading some data in the background. It managed to download over a 100 GB of data in 1 day.
I've tried factory resetting the phone but the the problem came back in a few hours and it's managed to download around 13 GB again in the last 3 hours. I'm not aware of a way to figure out what exactly is being downloaded. Is there a way I can trace exactly what's happening in the background so that I can look for a fix?

Hmm, very interesting...
I'd suggest installing ES explorer. The app tracks the storage space and will give you a report on big files as well as the new ones.
it must be an app reported as androidOS
check your installed apps 3rd party and make a screenshot for use may be we can choose it out
If you click on Android OS in data usage, it will show what things goes under Android OS. Maybe one of those has the answer.

[Q] New Z2 play from China has huge battery drain.

I bought a "bargain" Z2 play from a China seller, and find it drains battery in about 7 hours.
drain occurs out-of-box with no updates. Flight mode doers not help.
Box was opened, I assume to flash international firmware. Phone is not "Play protect certified", so no google pay. Netflix works, but had to be side-loaded.

Utilities report around 600mA with screen on, over 400mA off & idle.
So charged, screen off and idle, phone is warm and runs flat in around 7 hours.
settings->battery does not show any apps with high usage.
XT1710-08 PVT1 Android 8.0.0 with 1st June'18 patch.
Anything to try before attempting RMA to China?
Should I try another firmware, or would that void warranty - if a Coolicool china warranty is honored.
A few days later, after numerous tests and factory resets, the problem suddenly went away.
About 1.5hrs into a 5 hr test in standby, the logs show the drain suddenly stopped.

Problem has not been seen since, even after firmware reset.
Any ideas? I hope it is permanent.
