Hello OP 6T users,

Yah vvm is a big gap unfortunately.. had to rollback to oneplus dialer.

Oddly enough sometimes I can get to GDialer VVM by hitting the notification, but only at random times.

I am on TMobile and have vvm in Google dialer. I had to install the Google dialer as a system app to get it to work. I also uninstalled the stock dialer. Not sure if that matters. And I changed the flags to true in the dialer_phenotype_flags.xml for voicemaill.

You have root access but I don't! Unlike others, I don't really care much about vvm anyway but thanks for the info. ?

Are you sure you getting new vms? Initially it does show the tab and shows existing vms, but doesn't get new vms.
Also, what setting is this and where to change this? I am on Verizon and rooted too.

Here is the xml file. Unzip it and copy it to /data/data/com.google.android.dialer/shared_prefs
It has the flags set for vvm and call screening. Call screening doesn't work properly though. The caller can't hear the Google ai. Still trying to figure that out.
And yes, new voice mails show up and get transcribed. And I'm on T-Mobile, not Verizon.

Easiest way if you are using magisk is to download the app systemizer through magisk manager downloads and do it that way.

Hmm. No idea why I don't have that file , so I can edit it directly to enable vvms. Right now, don't see the vm tab, used to until v26.

another HTC guy in the fold, you on verizon?

If Spam Caller ID doesn't work, what's the point in using this instead of stock dialer? It's an honest question, I'd like to understand what advantages I'm missing. My previous phone was a Nexus 6P and I used and appreciated Spam Caller ID.

Please dwell on this. Not sure what you're referring to.
If you referring to Hangouts Dialer, its working.
Using the Google Voice app. You get the "Call not sent" error.
https://www.google.com/search?q=hua...e=UTF-8#q=huawei+"call+not+sent"+google+voice
I think the issue is that the Dialer/Telecom isn't giving the Google Voice process enough time to prepare the call routing or something. If you select "Ask every time" in the Google Voice app routing settings, and wait a couple seconds after the pop-up, it works.

The most important thing that your rom must have is NO problem with notifications like stok or 3rd party mail apps, viber, facebbok & messanger, instagram and when im saying NO problem i mean that you will test it with screen of (for about 30minutes without interaption to be sure the phone is sleeping in doze mode) and recieve a mail to see if the divice wakes up alove and see in lockscreen the notification.

Notifications seem to be a different case for everyone. For starters I don't believe it is caused by doze, but by Huaweis implementation since disabling doze does nothing or did nothing for me. Don't experience any notification issues on this one.

Google phone app

anyone using the google phone app? I installed it when it was still mistakenly compatible with the 10 and it works great, but when I set it as the default phone app, it won't ring or vibrate when someone calls. I checked all the permissions and everything looks fine. Just not sure why it won't ring unless I don't set a default phone app

I have it, it is simply the dialer and doesn't include all the functions. HTC phone takes off. The nice thing is you can use the search functions. Have you been able to get visual voicemail to work? I haven't been able to. Also is the version you have 2.5.11rc8? or did you somehow land rc9
Yeah it's also silent for me too. Shame since I much prefer the Google dialer.

yes, rc9 will not install on anything but a nexus device or a device with a specific sub-folder. Some people were able to get it to work on CWM builds but since we do not have CWM we have to stick with RC8. On the plus side there is very minor differences and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

You have to find the version on APK mirror that is labeled "no Nexus" it's the only one I've found that works. Also it seems there is a bug with the T-Mobile variant that you won't get notifications for texts with Android messages. If you do let me know how you got it to work. I have tried everything to get Android messages working without success.

I wonder if it is a problem with Android messages or the Moto. I use textra and I have no problems.
As far as the phone app goes, I installed one off the xda labs store and it looks just like the stock Android version.
Nevermind, that is a year old as well.... Sucks
We won't get a working Google dialer as you need Twrp to flash the dialer framework
I've had no problem with android messages as well. Downloaded straight from the play store installed, disabled the moto messages app, set android as default and worked out of the gate.

That swipe down in the stock OOS dialer always throws me for a loop.

Question Which phone call Recorder works on the OP9 Pro?

Hi,
I want to know if it's possible to record phone calls native? I assume this phone is being shipped with Google Dailer.
Is there way to still record phone calls (root or nonroot) that it doesn't notify the other caller just like in the native dailer of Google.
Magisk Module "Call Recorder - SVALEX" is running well here.
By theory if you are able to convert it to international and, also flash nolimits module, you will be able to enable native call record in the dialer settings. This is what I always did. Again, I can't confirm that this works on the 9 because I don't have it but, this has worked on the 6,7,8. Just trying to assist and, I myself refuse to run a phone without native call record.

Do I need to pay for it to make it work ones trial expired? I just need simple call recording. Nothing fancy.

Yap, it is 9.99 Euro, and it IS fancy. There are some things an switches to configure. Some important for me (encrypting the records), some don't (filter, who is recorded, who don't).
I use Jone plus tools with EU OTA. Always worked. Just require the Call Recorder Service option to be picked up.
I use axet's call recorder module from magisk. It is free. Only you have to remember to open call recording app once you reboot phone.
I've been using joneplus with oneplus' native call app, but it was not working good for me. If I put the phone to my ear before the call was answered, it did not work at all.
Used svalex version from magisk also and did not see any big difference compared to axet's. Had to open the app every reboot too.
To sum up, I stick to axet's as long as there is better way to record calls.

But you need to use the oneplus dialer for that and not the Google dialer that comes as the default dialer?

Install like any normal apk. Then set them as default thru Settings (default for messages, phone). Deactive the Google ones again thru Settings/Applications & notifications/Show all applications and pick up those Google to deactive them

Yes i have all installed. I just thought from your comment that you'd found a way to have the Google dialer work with the joneplus call recorder.

Do you have to wait for someone you call to pick up the phone before you put the phone to your ear to call record work? Had this set up and if I forgot about this my call hadn't been recorded.

I switched to axet's call recorder since it is free, also like the other Call Recorder - SVALEX requires to be launch after each reboot.
I miss xxx magisk ROM

What do you mean with " I miss the xxx magisk Rom?"
Is there no ROM then?
Also how works axet call recorder? How is the sound? Could you send some screenshots of the settings of axet call recording.
