[H930ds][STOCK KDZ][OREO] LG V30 HK market H930DS21w_00_OPEN_HK_DS_OP_0121.kdz - LG V30 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Developm

Hello there,
New update for H930ds Hong Kong model, it is v21w with January 1st, 2019 security patch.
LGs server link http://pkg02.lime.gdms.lge.com/dn/d...779D44344/H930DS21w_00_OPEN_HK_DS_OP_0121.kdz

Just a security update? No other changes noticed?

I have a H930DS and with this firmware my wifi link speed is only 433Mbps(5GHz). Speed test results are ~300Mbps download, ~200Mbps upload.
With firmware 21o OPEN_EU wifi link speed is 866Mbps and speed test results are the same 300/200.
Whatever I do, I can't go pass 300Mbps.
Does this phone have only 1 wifi antenna because that would actually make sense (433x2=866)??
Can someone with the same phone post some results?

DTS 3D framework apparently installed. However, you need root to fully enable it.

I just updated the op of that thread to include this...

Yes, the DTS 3D stereo is great when enabled with this mod -- as long as you have the proper framework, which apparently HK H930DS now does.

Your bootloader is unlocked? Just asking.
Also, you're sure you have the file name right? Did you re-name it TWRP or TWRP.img? You shouldn't have to add the .img. If your Windows extensions are hidden, then you may have accidentally renamed it TWRP.img.img (but you won't see the 2nd ".img")

Yes, I am unlocked, had twrp before flashing this kdz
I am using TAB to finish filename so twrp.img is definitively there but looks like it isn't judging by the output error
Will try again tommorow, just wandered about experinces of others

Thanks both very slow around 50 to 70kb/s. Cna upload to megaz?

Just for the record, I have fixed this problem by doing one of those two things:
Changing USB cable
Executing fastboot erase recovery prior to fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
All good now, H930DS Made in India here.

You have to unlock bootloader on earlier Oreo firmware. You can temporarily downgrade to older firmware which has the "WTF" bootloader unlock exploit, unlock the bootloader, then upgrade back to newer firmware.
See WTF Bootloader Unlock, TWRP, and Root INSTRUCTIONS.
If you want to unlock bootloader, you wasted time upgrading to newest firmware first. You need pre-July 2018 Oreo firmware.
LG doesn't want you to unlock your bootloader. Don't listen to anything they say about unlocking your bootloader.
We have our own unlock bin file. Every V30/V30+/V30 in the world can be bootloader unlocked and rooted -- without LG permission.

I see thanks now need to downgrade can you upload a older rom for downgrade again? Anyway thanks for you support

Any older ROM you need has already been uploaded. First, be sure to read the WTF INSTRUCTIONS. Lots of H930DS users have unlocked their bootloaders. After you unlock the bootloader then you can install whatever newest firmware you wish.
1) You don't specifically need Hong Kong H930DS firmware when unlocking bootloader for H930DS. You can even use European H930 firmware or some other H930DS region firmware. It's just a temporary installation until you unlock the bootloader. Then you can update back to this newest Hong Kong firmware. In my WTF instructions I provide link to appropriate H930 or H930DS firmware for this temporary stage.
2) If for some reason you insist upon Hong Kong H930DS firmware for the temporary installation stage, this one from April 2018 will work:
H930DS20n_00_OPEN_HK_DS_OP_0416.kdz
I uploaded it last year for another thread.
See, any older ROM you need has already been uploaded.

Hi,
Sorry for very late reply. Never thought someone would care to help after such a long time.
I never tried LGUP because I cant find the right ROM for my device. Hardware info page shows H815 while on adb it shows up as LGF500L.....(last time I checked F500L is korean variant).
Also the device does not have recovery mode. When trying to boot into recovery a red exclamation comes up with "No command" written.

Sounds like it might be a 'frankenphone' - the only way to fully ascertain what the phone model actually is, is to open it up and see what is printed on the motherboard. Refer to this link on how to tear it down: https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/LG+G4+Teardown/42705
You can also then use SALT to ascertain what the GPT compatability is - that will tell you what roms are safe to flash in order to upgrade.

CPU-Z will not be reliable in the information it provides you as it only provides the information that has been installed on it. As I stated, the only way to truly ascertain is to strip it down and see what is printed on the motherboard - it is not difficult and there are no shortcuts to be 100% sure - if you don't do it the way I suggested, you run the risk of hard-bricking your phone when you flash something not meant for your phone. If you doubt me, check with steadfasterX, recognized developer who know this stuff inside-out ...

If your bootloader is actually unlocked, you should be able to - you should use the latest 'preview' version for the rom version you are planning to flash. Refer to this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/recovery-twrp-3-touch-recovery-t3442424

When you say 'unlocked' you are referring to carrier/sim unlocked I presume. If you were actually bootloader unlocked, you should be be able to flash TWRP in fastboot mode.
Look, I'll say it again, strip your phone down and find out exactly what is stamped on the motherboard. The last thing you want to do is try and flash a rom from a different model than you actually have.
Then look for a MM 1220x up to 1220z rom for the phone model you actually have and upgrade it with LGUP-NEW. Then proceed to unlock your bootloader. If it is actually an H815 European version you should be able to unlock it officially on LG's site. If it another H815 version etc., you will have to unlock it unofficially with steadfasterX's UsU method BUT you must be on MM to avoid issues when installing any custom roms from then on.
Don't take any shortcuts.

I had this issue last night so thought id save people some trouble and share the the file needed incase you need to flash over 20D's KDZ file either to go back or forward.
Please unzip and put in C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\common

Damn.
I had it working with 1.14, but I thought I had the wrong version. So I uninstalled it.
Now I can't get it to load - wrong dll for VS99620a.
Plus I wanted the developer version of LGUP.
Pretty sure I need the Partition option to flash other-model KDZ.
Hi there,
I need some help because i fell so stupid.... I cannot use the patched DLL for uppercut in order to flash the newest Oreo KDZ for H930...
I installed LGUP 1.14, USB DRiervs, etc... Download and uncompress uppercut 1.0.0.0. I downloaded the patched DLL 1.0.31.9. Even if I copy that dll on the uppercut folder or wherever i copy, the version shown on LGUP is always the 1.0.28.9... SO I cannot flash the latest Oreo KDZ
Help please?
thx in advance

Thanks, but I think the operative word in that quote is "should". I've tried that method with the phone in download mode and with it in its normal operating mode, but LGUP no longer recognises my phone model. I can get the LGUP pop-up with the serial port but the pop-up shows the phone as an unknown model, which I guess is the issue preventing the firmware update.

One more if your real goal is to unlock Canadian version of S9 you should know that in Canada all phones should be sold unlocked since December 2017 (you should be able to use any SIM card} . But if your goal is to root the phone (for example to remove all Samsung bloatware) there's no way to do this for now

The sm-g960w is running with a snapdragon chip and I'm looking for a tutorial how to flash custom roms on this device, any help much appreciated.

That patch is generated for every phone, even ones with locked bootloaders, so it will work if you can unlock the bootloader but that will never happen.
I found one way to unlock the bootloader on my galaxy s9 sm-g960w
I used this firmware on this page, it's a crom.(combinat...), https://shell.boxwares.com/Download.aspx?L=8417
Although the page says it's for the sm-g960w, the filename once downloaded says it's for g960u. Nonetheless, after flashing using odin the patched version, you can unlock the bootloader in Developer settings. At least for me it's there.
So, using this crom enable to unlocked bootloader, firmware.mobi doesn't contain a CF-AUTO-ROOT file for this version of the firmware.(COMBINATION_FAC_FA80_G960USQU3ARG2) so I still unsure whether it can be rooted. When I visit the samsungfour.com website, it gives me a security certificate error and fails to load so I cannot say for certain that the tutorial on their website for the sm-g960w snapdragon 845 varient works or not. I'll try the website later tonight or tommorow and post back here.

im on G960WVLS3ARJ6 , no limitations on what build you have to flash?
I might not update to Pie when it comes out!
I was on the latest build when I flashed with patched Odin. which was G960WVLS3ARJ6
i wouldnt waste your time.. its not a "crom" more so your standard combination firmware.. combo firms have always had the oem unlock option in dev settings.. unfortunately all it will really do for you is disable frp.. the bootloader will still remain locked..
you can confirm this by going into dl mode and trying to flash a custom img.. also can verify in adb by doing a getprop..
flash lock and other lock will still be 1 and verifiedbootstate will still be green.

Hi, I used the LGUP to upgrade the LG V35 from Android 8 to 9 with V350ULM20d_00_NAO_US_OP_0612.kdz. The version 8 is V350AWM10n. I used the Refurbish to process it...:crying:

So you went from Korean version Oreo to the Unlocked Variant Pie? Probably a compatability issue. I went from Variant 10i to Variant 20d with no issues using the upgrade option in LGUP. Have you tried anything else?

Try draining the battery by connecting an usb fan via otg and putting it into the fridge. After it turned off, enter fastboot mode and flash again.

Another user had issues with fastboot, could get into mode but nothing worked in fastboot. I might suggest letting it die, then using buttons to download mode while connecting to a PC. But either might work. Would love to hear either way.

thanks @vbenkovskyy to help me to unbrick my V35
Could you or @vbenkovskyy share what worked? I'm at a similar place.
I just bought a NiB AT&T Unlocked v350awm10w. I tried to follow this guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-stock-firmware-lock-t3820888) but the .rar for the LGUP_common.dll is corrupted. I tried another version through google but my firmware update stopped at 91% with an 0x2000 error, which from my seach was due to the wrong .dll version. That led me to https://www.reddit.com/r/LgV35/comments/blt10i/how_to_flash_kdz_firmwares/, I extracted the .dll from the unlocked Pie .kdz (V350ULM20d_00_NAO_US_OP_0612) but now when I try to launch LGUP it says the .dll for v350awm10w is not properly installed.

Thanks for that link Shawn. Unfortunately after about an hour stuck at 91%, the download mode rebooted. Now it autoboots into the bootloader. I can see it through fastboot devices, but the only on-phone options are restart and power off. I tried to extract the laf.img from the Oreo Fi .kdz and fastboot boot laf.img but I got the g.co/abh warning and it rebooted into bootloader again so I'm stuck. Any help you can give would be great.
Anybody figure this out?
Also US unlocked v35 tried upgrdaing from 8.0 to 9.0 , stuck at 91% and now forever in fastboot mode
anyhelp would be appreciated
thanks

Android 10 Has Begun Rolling Out For The Moto One Vision In Brazil!

This time it's the real deal and not a beta/mfn version.
The update comes bundled with the January 2020 Security Patch and has the build number QSA30.62-24
As usual, the update is rolling out in batches... As by far, only users of the first batch of devices have received the OTA update.
The other batches (02/2019 and so on...) are still waiting in line.
My phone's batch is 06/2019... So I'll have to wait a little more
EDIT: As Of Today, January 13 2020, the OTA update, versioned QSA30.62-24 is out for All Users of the Motorola One Vision In Brazil using the Retail Software Channel (RETBR).
I just updated my phone and did a hard reset to start clean.
how do you know which batch is your phone?

Look at the decal on the side of the box, which shows the IMEI numbers... Below there is a text saying "Date:" -- The following number after "Date" is your phone's batch number.

As this is an original image I presume I can flash it without unlocking the boot loader right?

From Lolinet's mirror. However I tried opening it in RSD Lite. No Go. Gives an error.
Image seems to be corrupt. Luckily I didn't do anything to my phone.

Yes I downloaded it a second time. Both times RSD gave an error.

Its the last file there.

That's wrong. I've flashed retbr and retin to my xt1970-3 without problems.
Bootloader unlocked though.
Now I've just updated to A10 and I can say that I got it rooted with same method as on pie, so twrp and magisk still works.
