Heh never mind he beat me to it... Lol

For me the best settings are these:
Ainur sauron;
Dolby Digital plus (music with all the bars at max);
Aml.
That's all.

@pgravili: You should be installing the Audio Compatibility Patch as well, otherwise streaming audio services like Pandora or Spotify will not use Viper4Android or Dolby in processing their streams.

It's not necessary if you use Ainur Sauron. It has all you need in order to make to work on every app.

Does AS also increase system volume for SMS and phone calls?? I use D Dolby + V4A which definitely cranks it out for music and YouTube, but system volume is still too low. Used to be great before 9.0 hit. I know there's a way by editing the .xml files, but dang, there are a lot of them! :fingers-crossed:

Ainur Sauron doesn't increase volume. It works only on quality audio. To increase system volume you only have to turn up bars in Dolby eq.

Not really. You could go to vendor/etc/audio_effects xml and edit those according to Zack, one of the V4A developers. Problem is, which ones do you edit??

Works with all sd625 devices and many more.
Just use Ahrion's Dolby Axon 7 Atmos port and his Viper4AndroidFX magisk modules. They work perfectly. Also get the universal deep buffer remover if Spotify and other streaming apps don't get the equalizer changes from those two mods

Headphone volume in Soundmod 1.0 is louder than Soundmod 2.0

Awesome! but i noticed that the sound quality and volume on ringtone is worse compared to music players and other stuff. for example i play a music and its sound is awesome through both speakers but when i set the same file as ringtone and test call on my phone the ringtone is much much lower. im gonna try this to see if this make a difference to that
if headphone volume in 1.0 is louder than 2.0 then what is changed in 2.0? speaker volume?
Edit: i accidentally deleted the original file can you provide it pls?
anyway thank you

Thank you, Sir.
Bro, is version 1 and 2 exactly the same, only 2 being louder for headphone? Otherwise loudspeaker, gaming/earpiece the same?
When doing voice calls/Skype/Viber?messenger is the earpiece/loudspeaker louder than stock? Have you enabled stereo speakers when loudspeaker phone call?
Compatible with both Nougat and Oreo?
Thanks!

Unfortunately did not work for me.
Upon rebooting my device I get ''sound settings'' error message followed by a low buzzing sound and no sound.
I had to copy the stock.zip default back to get my sound working again.
Could you please look into this?

My device has unlocked bootloader and is rooted with recovery. All instructions were followed including setting the mixer_paths to RW-R-R, not working.

viper audio Bluetooth settings?

Anyone have a good link or recommendation for Bluetooth settings on viper?
It depends on the equipment you're using. I've got different settings for car audio or Bluetooth speakers etc.
I have disabled Viper due to Bluetooth issues!
Some apps didn't play any sound while connected on bluetooth, and then, suddenly my Spotify started to get some delays to play music (it plays 1sec of music, then 2 secs of mute, then the music continues normally)... This happens everytime I switched songs..
After that, I disabled Viper and it was working fine.. =(
Use arise with arise or audiophile profile. Disable battery optimization on viper to stop the pause every few seconds.
Works great for me.
V4A using permissive kernel and Dolby digital plus.

I use WETA's sound profile for Viper. Got these .irs files from his mod back on the old pixel. He has presets for every tab including bluetooth. Love his settings, this pack also includes some others. Just unzip the file and copy contents to your viper4android folder on sd card then load profile from viper app. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M8i_u_wwn-XKHedaWMpY7JJN_5nVzIRA/view?usp=sharing All credit goes to Mentalmuso for his presets.

Viper4Android alternative

A great alternative to Viper for non-rooted devices is using Neutron Music Player.
With proper configuration it can sound really good. Moreover, it has native support for hi-res audio. Viper's main disadvantage is it down/up samples to 48Khz and limits the bit depth to 16 bit. The S20 family of devices have powerful DACs capable of 384Khz/32 Bit audio so if you have hi-res audio files it would work well. The only disadvantage to using Neutron is its learning curve. It's not as user-friendly as Viper but can sound about as good with the right setup.
A good equaliser that does boost the sound is Mega equaliser , but be carefull as you could blow your speakers with the loudness togle , its free with ads or without ads for $1.49 from inside the app , works perfect on my note 10+ and note 9
Try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noozxoidelabs.eizo.rewirepro
Though the app has not been updated since ages...sounds good.

need help. Viper4Android installed and working via Magisk. As soon as I am on the home screen, it switches off in the background. If I start viper4android it runs again immediately. Now the strange... When I start the browser, for example, viper is running. Music runs in the background. Except on the home screen. When the screen turns off, viper is off again. What could be the reason for this?
