HIGH ISO COMPARISON - RAW (800) vs PRO MODE (800) vs PHOTO STACKING (1250 NO NR) - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Guides, News, & Discussion

Don't take in consideration the color, just for detail and noise analysis I shot freehand 3 pictures:
PRO MODE: ISO 800 (Samsung camera)
RAW + Heavy noise reduction: ISO 800 (Samsung camera)
Photo stack (15 pictures): ISO 1250 NO NOISE REDUCTION, NO SHARPENING - Simple freehand burst mode using Open Camera
For you the comments.

[Q] Interpolation of Xperia T2 Ultra Camera

If ever anyone here
knows how to interpolate camera resolution please share your
knowledge guys. Camera interpolation is a process to adjust
the camera resolution into higher than its physical or actual
resolution like for example I have a phone with 8 megapixel
main camera then I interpolate it to 12MP resolution. The
picture of 8MP cam vs the interpolated 12MP might have the
same clarity but different file size, higher resolution means
much higher file size.
Other benefit of camera interpolation could be the details of
the pictures once zoomed, you can still have detailed picture
even after a deep zoom.
On our T2 Ultra, we all want our picture to be taken at full
screen or 16:9 ratio but we cannot use the 13megapixel in
that ratio or full screen instead only at 9MP.
Here's T2 Camera settings
13MP - 4:3 screen ratio
9MP - 16:9 screen ratio
5MP - 4:3
2MP - 16:9
VGA - 4:3
Any possibility guys to interpolate our 13MP XPERIA T2
ULTRA cam to 16MP maybe so that we can have the
following camera settings
16MP (interpolated) - 4:3 screen ratio
13MP - 16:9 screen ratio ( my target)
Etc
Etc.
Anybody?
BIG BIG THANKS!!!
Yeah, that would be great. I flashed vk700 rom onto vk700 pro and all interpolation gone to real values, from 13mpx to 5mpx. Anyone?
Bro u are wrong our t2 have 4:3 sensor which take 12 mp picture and if we switch to 16:9 that phone takes that 12 mp 4:3 picture and convert it into a 16:9 picture which will 8 mp so it can't possible what u are saying...

camera aperture when using portrait mode

i have note 8, portrait mode in low light is pretty bad (noise)
just like any other phone with wide + tele since the tele aperture is slow
i wonder if the op5t is using f1.7 on portrait mode
then again portrait mode photo quality on the huawei p10 plus is lower than the auto mode even though all lenses aperture is f1.7?
iphone 8 plus and note 8 portrait mode is bad compared to huawei rgb + monochrome setup with same focal length and aperture

OnePlus 5T: Camera Software Review

There's a constant debate between OnePlus 5T, its camera.. vs. Google Pixel 2 XL. For myself - I can't justify nearly double the price for the lower megapixel camera and subpar display.
There were also a few camera related enhancements in recent firmwares leading to 4.7.6. Also, for me there was no interest in social media crap - beautifying, etc. I also couldn't make GCam work with back camera on 4.7.6.
All of the photos were made using intentionally difficult conditions.. dim light, photo taken at an angle, etc.
Camera FV5: Creates very noisy pictures, even with optimal lighting
Better Camera - HDR: Too artificial colors with slight red shift, textures are not uniform
Better Camera - Single Shot: Textures are much better, colors are greyed out, some noise still present
Better Camera - Best mode: This seems the most optimal, least amount of blur due to lack of optical image stabilization, as this mode takes 3 shots, and selects the one with the highest focus.
Fotej Camera - HDR: Very poor, spilled ink like effect instead of slight glow
Fotej Camera - HDR off: Also very poor, lack of clarity or details, noise.
Open Camera - Using Camera 2 API, 95% JPEG quality: too much sharpen, textures are not even uneven, but grainy, with blackish dots, loss of texture details
Open Camera - Using Camera 2 API, 97% JPEG quality: same - too much sharpen, but textures are more even, grainy blackish dots are still present but a lot less
Open Camera - Using Camera 2 API, 97% JPEG quality, HDR Mode Always On: Too significant loss of details, loss of texture details
In summary, I think 5T stock camera and Better Camera with Best mode wins. 5T works a bit better with color, textures, does not abuse the image taken, while Better Camera in the Best Mode takes 3 photos, and selects least blurry one - which seems to be the only way to compensate for the lack of optical image stabilization.
Other conclusions:
- HRR still doesn't seem to work well on 3rd party camera apps
- Stock Camera HQ mode still doesn't work, blur and loss of details is significant
What are your findings?
I really don`t satisfy with the camera

Question Samsung S21 FE RAW + JPEG sample photos

Hi, if anyone is interested, you can check here a few photos in both JPEG and RAW with the S21 Fan Edition : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RcF69E5xgJRZOOcp0Wouyt0d8-fZzzQ4?usp=sharing
Also, if you want to compare them to the S21 Ultra, you can check here the S21U photos. They are basically the same photos taken in the same conditions and settings : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YFOiFNEbi6l7XTIop9DBdvl0rc5aDLuy?usp=sharing
The photos are looking great, some RAW images are good compared to JPEG and the size of the photos is 23 MB which is large!!
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised to see that too. It's such a light phone but a very capable one.
Still sad the camea software is so incapable:
no storing exposure and mode settings after closing the app
no RAW continuous shooting
no Auto ISO with a lower limit of the shutterspeed (to not blur action shots, like sports mode but the user decides if its 1/250 or 1/500th, but uses faster times if the scene gets brighter)
Also, I found the zoom lens to be quite soft indoors. Outside looks good I guess but the I've seen older phones with clearer 3x lens than this.

Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G GCam 8.1 BSG - Limit Max Exposure not working

Hello,
I've installed the BSG Gcam MGC_8.1.101A9_GV2B_ENG on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G Snapdragon. And during the day all is fine. Pictures are better than with the stock cam. More details, less noise and grain. But in the night the Xiaomi Cam is still better. I have 2 problems.
1) The noise level on the gcam is worse at the same ISO Level compared to the Xiaomi cam. Can it be enhanced somehow? There are many sharpening, exposure and noise smoothening things in the image processing menu. But it's too much to just try and error a bit. Most of the stuff is deactivated by default.
2) The nightsight uses maximum exposure of 1/4 or 0.25 seconds. Which is too much for me. Almost every picture is blurry due to shaking. I lowered the "Limit Max Exposure" of the sensor to 1/10. But it doesn't work. It keeps using 1/4.
I instead used correction exposure / ISO to x2 ISO which helps reducing the exposure. But it does it quite hard so that the picture is noisy again due to high ISO.
Maybe someone can Help.
