Type-c earphones with no audio - Xiaomi Mi A1 Accessories

Hi, I picked up a pair of type-c earphones from AliExpress for my Mi A1 which is running Pie with the March update. However, my phone doesn't detect them and no audio is sent to them either. Any ideas?

Not all TypeC speaker/earphone devices are the same. I also tried that with a friend's TypeC earphones and it didnt work. I attached a USB DAC Dragonfly Red via an OTG adapter (Type C Malr to Type A Female) and I got audio out from it.
It seems you'll need a type C headphones that has a built in USB DAC or use a USB DAC in-between like I did.
Some type C earphone are just wired to take advantage of the additional wires in USB3 TypeC and so the phones output the analog audoo through these additional lines. This also makes them incompatible with other brands too. Meanwhile, the A1 has a USB2 TypeC and so also only has the 4-5 lines of microUSB B.
Bottomline: use the 3.5mm audio out of the phone or use a USB DAC to output audio thru USB TypeC.

USB Type-C to 3.5mm audio

Does anyone know if there is a USB type-C to 3.5mm headphone adaptor that works with the OPT? My headphone jack can be a little staticy at times and I was hoping for an easy solution to this issue. Most of the adaptors on Amazon are pretty poorly rated but I tried one from the link below, and not surprisingly, it didn't work.

I don't think it supports. My USB DAC is not recognized as a external USB audio device either. OP seems does't follow USB TYPE C SPEC.
nope it dosent work
I got one from aliexpress dosent seem to work on op2
I just connected regular USB soundchip from Realtek (SteelSeries knockoff I think), using USB-C to micro and then USB micro to OTG adapter. It works.
In Developer options there is a toggle called "Disable USB audio routing", so check that too.

Wouldn't see why not, but there's a headphone jack for a reason.
true but the idea of NC headphones without having to charge them is pretty tempting.
I am using some gaming USB-A heaphones with an A to C adapter on Lumia 950 XL, so I don't see why USB headphones that do their own amplification wouldn't work with all phones, for any type of audio. The output is much better than with twice the money older jack headphones because USB allows for a lot of stuff to be powered inside the heaphones, but:
1. the USB-A cord is rigid (couldn't find a flexible one), this causing
2. every now and then the connectors to get loose and altering the audio
USB-C heaphones with flexible cord are now my first option.

USB-C splitter

I'm getting a pair of USB-C headphones, but that still leaves something to be solved: charging while using the headphones. Now there is a splitter for audio jack, but I was wondering if and how it would be possible to split the USB-C between headphones and a charger, all using USB-C.
Any ideas?

[Issue] USB C to Audio Output

I grabbed a two pack of some dongles to convert Type C to audio, they work for standard iPhone headphones, but not if I plug in an aux cord . The phone recognizes it as headphones attached but no sound every comes out.
Any idea how to fix/have you guys used any brands successfully with aux cords?
Same problem for me.
Any helps?
Thanks
Does the dongle have a built in dac? If not try unplugging the dongle, go to settings, enable otg storage, then plug in the dongle. I need to do that for my dongle
