Custom ThreeUK/UK Customized firmware 47.2.A.10.28 Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE - Sony Xperia XZ Premium ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries,

So i bought a Sony Xperia XZ Premium yesterday and well since i am a Three UK user i rely on WiFi calling decent amount of time.
Phone had no WiFi calling option in settings despite being on latest and greatest so i flashed a bit older
47.2.A.0.306 Three UK Branded firmware and well i got my WiFi calling and VoLTE but seems like latest three firmware has that bug with battery drain as battery was noticeably worse than on 47.2.A.10.28 based UK Customized and being myself i wanted best of both worlds
So i made a three branded firmware based on 47.2.A.10.28 it is not yet available for three users and who knows when will it be
So now you have a firmware that enables Three UK WiFi calling and VoLTE
So for those who use Three UK i present to you this firmware
It has latest march security patch
and like i mentioned before it has both WiFi calling and VoLTE enabled for 3 UK users
Mega
works great and battery life is fantastic
Only thing i'm unsure of is OTA's will they work will they not i don't know so whenever new update drops try at your own risk
This firmware is flashable using Sony Flashtool
You don't need to unlock bootloader or do any modifications to your phone just install it like your regular firmware
Bellow you can see security patch/firmware info in settings and proof that WiFi calling does indeed work and VoLTE is enabled

Z Play Variants

I'm looking to pick up a Z Play to use on T-Mobile, and I'm trying to figure out how to distinguish between different variants available.
According to willmyphonework, there are 6 different variants of which the Mexican version would work best on T-Mo. What's the best way to identify that the phone I'm looking at is indeed a Mexican version?

In my opinion. You want the xt1635-02 software channel RETUS (Retail United States) that's what I have and I'm on ATT in Arizona. Depending on which Bands T-Mobile uses I am almost certain that I could put a T-mobile sim in mine now and run T-Mobile with no issuea
Hey ssuds, I have the Moto Z play(RETUS) with Tmobile. I do get LTE and everything. Be advised that there is no wifi calling feature enabled on the MZP for us. (even though freaking Moto G5 Plus has it from Tmobile). As for service I just moved from AT&T to T-mobile. Honestly T-mobiles coverage is crap so I dont think it would matter too much.
I'm using xt1635-02 retus on Republic wireless which uses TMo network. No issues, except for the crappy TMO coverage by me (I also have an att Sim which is my primary account - got a deal for free service from Republic at purchase). Phone also worked very well in Ireland on Eir/Meteor.
Was reading in another thread recently that att Mexico devices are Sim locked, do that may be problematic if you go that route. No personal experience.

Custom Roms and Moto Mods: do they work together?

I really want to put a custom rom on the phone, but I'm unsure if it will affect the functionality of the projector and battery mods I have. I also am having a hard time finding the z2 force on any supported device lists for the roms I was looking at. Any one know if paranoid android, dirty unicorns, or pac rom supports z2 force and if installing them will affect the functionality of my moto mods?
There aren't any custom roms for the z2 force out yet, however mods do work with custom roms on the other devices of the z series.
I suggest you look at the Moto z and see what they say about mods, since it's older.
They do for the most part, battery mode like the Mophie battery mode work just fine, and I've heard that the gamepad, projector and camera mod work. However the JBL speaker mod currently does NOT work. From what I understand it is being worked on, but there's more important things to fix.
Edit: hotswapping mods also doesn't work, needs a full restart for Android to recognise that the mod is attached.

DU just announced they will support Nash. Check their G+ page.
Official and weeklies will start rolling out on April 6th.
More important things need fixed: LTE for sprint, SeLinux and a few other things. This needs to be a phone before all the kinks for motomods to work 100%. Like stated above, they work, but hot-swap and speaker doesn't work.

No service after Android 8.0 Oreo update

Hi all,
Prior to the update I had full service including voice, Samsung and data. After updating my Sony XA1 Ultra to Android 8.0 everything stopped working.
My telecom provider NTT Docomo is clueless and isn't of much help.
I have tried everything from airplane mode toggling, manual telecom selection and a full reset with Sony xperia companion.
Is anyone aware of this issue or knows how to get the back my telecom service?

Hi
Maybe it's because your SIM get demagnetized, or it's old and with old bands that aren't compatible with Oreo.
Try to buy a newer one from your provider's shop, should cost about 5€/$.
I hope It was helpful :highfive:
Faby
I have exactly the same issue, I made another thread because I didnt find this one. (Mine is not an ultra one)

I posted my "solution" there. In case your phone is also a dual sim, it might fix your problem for a while.

"Cannot check the software version. Try again." - LG Bridge

I just want to update my G710ULM to pie... Why is this so difficult? I successfully backed up my data, connected via the Air Drive thing, but it won't let me update?

Having the same problem here. Wrote an Email to the LG Support with my IMEI. Turned out that i got a Demodevice that can´t be updated.
Your phone has a cross Firmware. For sure a Sprint version (G710PM) with a 710ULM firmware flashed. LG bridge DO NOT GOING TO check your phone.
If you want to update to latest pie firmware you can do what I (and others) did, to flash manually the firmware by youself. I did it twice, my wife's phone and my own phone. 5 minute and you gonna have Pie 9.0 with 1 Oct. 2019 security patch.
Link with instructions <<Here>>
Good luck!
Have same issue, there is no cross firmware that I am aware of blocking me here...
its 2021. I bought 2 unlocked lg 8 thinq from amazon for me and my wife from a different seller. hers was one that came with alexa. Hers is through verizon/total wireless, mine is from att or tmobile with metropcs service. Hers updates perfectly and gets all the updates while my phone is stuck on the very first system update without a way to update. I'm on G820UM10i I tried lg bridge. It finds my phone but gives me a error and wont check phone for update. Will this work for my phone and how could i do this if i have a newer version needing android 10?

Is volte absolutely impossible in gsi rom?

Hello, U12+ Korean user with the lowest number of users in the world. First of all, it's nice to meet
I modified Qualcomm efs files related to volte, modified buildprops, and entered forced commands. Ims is activated. I'm wondering what else I need.
(I'm sorry that the screenshot is not in English) ims registered, and it says that video calling is possible, but volte is impossible.

Previously, it was possible to replace the Qualcomm efs file in original ROM and create the carrier code xml in system-customize-MNS through the volte activation menu in the basic phone app.
For reference, htc was withdrawn from the Korean market 10 years ago. I purchased the Taiwan version and copied the Qualcomm ims files of the Korean telecommunication company from Sony Xperia xz2 firmware, the same Snapdragon 845 model released in Korea, and opened the forced port through the adb shell command. After replacing the file in efs explorer, I made a Korean carrier (45008etc.xml) in the mns folder by looking at the Taiwanese carrier code and getting a hint, and also modified mns.map.xml in the customize folder, so volte in the original phone app-config The activation menu appears, so even though it is not released to Korean users, we applied tta .volte, which is only available in Korea.
