Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 BRICKED "the system has been destroyed" and I don't know what to do! - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Questions & Answers

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 BRICKED "the system has been destroyed" and I don't know what to do!
Ok so.. I recently got a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 about 3 weeks ago from a boyfriend that lives in EU area, and I live in the US. <- context. So this Mi Mix 2 (used to) run MIUI 8 Stable, but the bootloader was unlocked so I couldn't receive OTA updates (boyfriend didn't unlock the bootloader so he's clueless). I went to the XDA Discord and was told that I can easily Lock the Bootloader by simply running a command in ADB "powershell" (after installing the 'ADB in 15 seconds') I did so. Well! It was a success and locked the loader...BUT completely bricked my phone to where now it only says "the system has been destroyed", and since the bootloader is locked, I can't flash with MiFlash now.... I've ran just about every version of MiFlash out there, tried MIUI versions from 8 all the way to 10, using Global ROM, China ROM, and EU ROM. Absolutely nothing seems to work... I even tried using MiFlash Unlock and MiSuite PC to try and fix it that way (and yes I did volume UP and power button and tried doing that stuff). But ALAS! nothing works.... is there ANYTHING AT ALL that I haven't tried, I NEED help if anyone knows ANYTHING... I've been trying for 4 hours and this is my absolute breaking point. So I'm asking here if anyone knows.
-> if you do have a solution and want to help in depth (I'm clueless to all this), please message my discord @ WaifuShork#1337 PLEASE...
Really REALLY need help with this...

Here you can find a solution. Next time, use Xiaomi official app to unlock your device.

Mi 5s firmware installed on Mi 5s PLUS hardware

Dear Developers,
I have quite outstanding problem, I think the only at the forum. I have purchased "Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus" 6/128Gb phone, but I have received "Mi 5s Plus" hardware with "Mi 5s" firmware installed (and fake chineese version in addition (Global Stable 8.0.10.0.0 MAGCNDH). Model number is shown like "Mi 5s", memory volume and CPU speed is as expected, but the battery shows 3100mAh instead of 3800mAh, and the most disappointing thing is that the camera is not working at all (when starting says "Camera Error: can't connect to camera. Try restarting your device" (of course, it doesn't help...). The Seller does not respond (purchased in China via AliExpress).
I think all the above mentioned issues are coming because the firmware does not correspond to the hardware.
So, finally after reading the local forums I have understood that I have to reinstall the firmware to official Global Stable version (8.0.1.0) or to chineese stable (???). There are 2 ways: unlocking the bootloader (it is locked unfortunately) and install via fastboot with MiFlash utility or with locked bootloader using the EDL mode using the same MiFlash. But there are a lot of cases on local forum (but nearly 2 month ago) that after reflash in EDL mode the device become a brick (boot-loop).
So, my questions are the following. What are your sugestions in which way to proceed faster and more safe? Which firmware is more safe to try first in my case: global or chineese? Because on local forum it is written that to use EDL mode I need official english-chineese version to be preinstalled. What do you think about it? For me is not fully clear what will happen in EDL mode? Will bootloader also be overwritten or not? If everything is overwritten then why there are so many bricks/bootloops happened after using this mode with fake chineese firmware?
I have already requested permission to unlock bootloader, but there is no respond from xiaomi since 3 days already... hopefully because of New Year holidays (but in China?... strange...).
Also I have prepared an engineering cable to have possibility to enter EDL mode in case of bricking/bootloop. But I need your suggestion how to get rid of possible problems in my special case.
Many thanks in advance!
Heya,
The easiest way would be to download the global ROM from http://en.miui.com/download-315.html and flash it in the phone settings (about phone, firmrware upgrade, menu, choose ROM). I had the exact same "fake" ROM and had no problems flashing the official one.
Cheers!
*Edit* also, if you use the the MIUI-suite program and download the "fastboot image", bootloader, recovery, system and sdcard will be wiped (just tried)... flashing from the phone settings chould wipe aswell but never checked.

I have already tried to flash via about the phone with downloaded ROMs (recovery image), it says "cannot verify the package" and does not proceed... Looks like because bootloader is locked.
Mi PC Suite program cannot connect to phone at all. Tried different version, also chineese one.
And I tried different ROMs (stable global, stable chineese) - no result...
You are able to flash an official ROM with locked bootloader so it seems your phone actually thinks it's a Mi 5s, wich complicates things. Could you try downloading a Mi 5s official ROM and see if it still complains about verification?
The chineese version of Mi PC suit should work with Mi 5s plus but you have to put phone in fastbootmode for it to connect, volume down + power when whone is off.
If your phone has the wrong bootloader you might have to wait for BL unlock to force flash your the Mi 5s plus ROM.... or just flash twrp and flash whatever ROM you want

Good idea about "Mi 5s" global stable, thanks, will be interesting to try (a little bit later).
And I didn't know that Mi PC Suite should be connected in fastboot - another thank you!
By the moment I've got the unlocking approval, so I'm going to proceed in a way with unlocking of bootloader as more safe way by my opinion.
Many thanks for your help!

Mi MAX 3/32 Can't Unlock Bootloader and Find Device Storage Corrupted

I have Mi Max 3/32GB Hydrogen. Ever since I bought this device it keep showing "find device storage corrupted. device in unsafe"
And I can't unlock the bootloader. The device is on developer ROM out of the box.
Adding account in "Mi Unlock Status" inside Developer Option, it shows "couldn't add : error 20091"
Unlocking using mi flash unlock stuck at 99% with message "Current Account is not bound with this device"
I googled and still didn't found the solution.
I tried:
1. Flashing persist.img but I don't have privilege because locked bootloader.
2. Update OTA, now on the latest Dev ROM but still showing the warning "find device storage corrupted"
3. Resetting the phone, still showing the warning "find device storage corrupted"
4. Tried fastboot flash latest developer ROM in EDL mode with MiFlash, the flash succeed but the problem still persist "find device storage corrupted"
the funny thing is.. I logged in Mi Cloud and find device did locate my phone despite showing the "find device storage corrupted"
I think I can't unlock bootloader because of this find device storage corrupted problem (is this true?)
Is there anything more I can do?
it's getting frustrating and tiring just to unlock the phone
other brand official unlock method is MUCH MUCH easier than this.
I want to install RR ROM and root this phone.
I believe you are screwed with error 20091.... Had the same thing with my redmi 5, and nothing I tried and I tried everything, worked to unlock it. I returned it because of that. Xiaomi are great phones, but with the bootloader unlocking process, will never buy another one again. Im currently on MIDO Redmi note 4, and its awesome... But like i said, with the bootloader issues coming up this last year, no more xiaomi for me!

Update bricked Redmi 6 Pro

Hello everybody. Last month I bought Redmi 6 Pro. Then, I wanted to unlock bootloader it to install MIUI10 as it had MIUI8. After procedures, I had to wait for 360 hours to unlock the bootloader. I waited 15 days and then unlocked my phone. After unlocking the bootloader the phone rebooted and while booting I saw Unlocked in the screen. Then I wanted to install official MIUI10 form this link: http://en.miui.com/download-349.html#545. I tried to install using the local update method. However, after an unsuccessful install, my phone shows Mi-Recovery screen with 3 menus:
1. Reboot
2. Wipe Data
3. Connect MiAssisstant
Reboot just reboots to this menu. Wipe data did not help. MiAssisstant didn't recognize this phone as it says it does not support this phone. I tried then flash using MiFlash and it gave an error "Erase boot error", which my research revealed that it is related to bootloader being locked. I used adb in fastboot mode and it shows bootloder being locked. I do not know how this happened as I am 100% sure I unlocked it. Then I tried to unlock again and says I have to wait 30 days.
Is there any faster solution? Why do I have to wait 30 days as I already waited 15 days for unlocking?
My phone is connected to my account.
My MI ID is 1892506370.
Please help me.
Some may suggest EDL but I want my phone's bootloader to unlock, which in turn may solve my problem.
Forgive me if thi post is in the wrong category. I am new.
P.S. I tried all the suggested solution available on the net and none worked.
You have to wait 30 days because you recently unlocked your device, once you unlock a device there has to be a gap of 30 days before unlocking another device (or even same device again)
I had same issue on my redmi 3s prime as i unlocked my bootloader of redmi 6 pro & while flashing miui to redmi 3s prime i accidentally locked bootloader, it showed me 30 days wait, so what i did, i created a new account from scratch & then logged on my redmi 3s prime with that account so i had to wait 72 hours only for binding process & then i unlocked my bootloader
But as your device is dead, i will suggest you either move to care centre they can repair your device through edl method or else wait for 30 days
Mine locked after flashing miuipro. Miflash said I have to wait 30 days because you can unlock 1 device on 1 account once in month. But I used redmi 6 pro toolkit to unlock it. Somehow it bypassed this and unlocked right away.

Aren't you ashamed of putting a trojan in it? SHAME ON YOU!!!!
Are you crazy? What kind of anti-virus are you using? I took this toolkit from xiaomi.eu forum. It worked for me like a charm. I haven't been messing around in it.

Try this one.
So you're crazy. What is this? Any toolkit can be consider by anti-virus as a threat. Mine showed nothing. Anyways, do what you want. This toolkit helped me unlock my phone right away. Believe it or not and wait 1 month.
check once again bro.
Even chrome failed to download it and says Virus detected.
I've downloaded it to phone. Maybe someone did something to it lately. Anyways it worked for 2 months ago.
Wonderful !
Though Windows/chrome shows it as malware/virus.
I managed to download it on the phone and transferred it to PC.
It works like charm.
I unlocked my bootloader.
Download it, before it stops working/someone deletes it.
Thanks for providing the link

Hey, friend. Let me ask you a question.
If I unlock the bootloader using the toolkit, and flash India Rom (on chinese phone), can I have problems in future (to install OTA updates etc..) ?
Or is it better to wait 15 days and unlock with the official miflashtool ?
Unlocked bootloader is unlocked bootloader. There's no difference. The toolkit uses miflash unlock anyways. So it's pretty official way. I've used it to unlock second time the same phone in one day. U can't do it officially on one account because you have to wait 30 days. Toolkit bypassed this waiting time period somehow. I don't know what will happen if you're unlocking for the first time. Maybe you will have to wait 15 days like official way. You have to try and let us know. Flashing roms after unlocking is the same.
hello guys,i unlocked my redmi 6 pro but cannot change to global rom,in miflash it says "missmatching device" help me pls
Redmi 6 Pro Toolkit really works to unlock the bootloader for the second time without having to wait 30 days. !!!
Hai..
I have same problem too.. my phone was bricked after miui 10 updated ,then i bring to the store, and they installed china dev rom for my redmi 6 pro, but i wanna bring back my miui global rom.
Now i'd already try with redmi 6 pro toolkit , and i got same message for the ubl.. must wait until 360 days.. any another suggestion..?
this tool unlocked bootloader instantly
This tool unlocked bootloader instantly without wait and unbricked my device. Thank you!
even after using this toolkit and following the instructions im gettin 360 hr wait time...
This tool won't help you skip waiting period if you unlocking your device for the first time. It will help skip 1 month waiting when you want to unlock using same account for the second time. That was in my case.
the archives is either unknown or damage

Question Possible to flash any ROM to bricked and locked Mi11 Lite through fastboot ??

Hi everybody,
I recently tried to downgrade from 12.5.5.0 to 12.0.2.0 recovery version.
It was not a good idea since phone does not start any more and has a black screen no matter what I do.
But it can access fastboot mode...
My question:
Its locked unfortunately and I cannot access it anymore since it does not boot.
Is it possible to flash ANY Rom to it?
I tried it with several ROMs but Miflash tool always blocks the procedure since phone is locked...
Is there a ROM for the Mi 11 Lite 4G that is accepted by the MiFlash tool in locked state?

The problem is not the ROM version to be accepted but your device itself, due to the locked status it refuses to accept any partition to be flashed.
This same principle doesn't matter in EDL mode, but XM11 (and most of, if not all, Xiaomi devices) require of an authorized account for Mi Flash tool.
If you at least did bind your Mi account and started the process to unlock bootloader, then you still can do this.
Did you fixed the problem? If yes, how?

@SubwayChamp already mentioned how one'd go about it:
- If the phone was bound to the owner's Mi account, starting a bootloader unlock process and if it is able to go forward, it could then be restored to a working state.
- Perhaps... sideloading a full recovery ROM if access to the stock recovery and Mi Assistant were an option, although just like with EDL, I'm guessing some sort of authorization takes place (it used to several years ago).
- Take the phone to a service center and plead one's case, they could be willing to flash the device with an official build, although if it were me I'd require proof of ownership at least.
- Resort to a 3rd party service / app that deals in auth. EDL flashes for money.
That's about it, these days there's not even a point in opening a device to access the test points.

Question Redmi Pad - was sold with unlocked bootloader

Hi there, please be gentle with me, I'm not especially software savvy but am seeking help before I make a big mistake!
I bought a Redmi Pad from ebay (lesson learned) which has arrived with an unlocked bootloader. The device is labelled as a 22081283G running MIUI Pad Global 13.1.4, Android version 12 SP1A.210812.016. I can't install certain apps as Google Play says it isn't Play Protected, which a quick search suggests is because the bootloader is unlocked (which I saw from an unlocked padlock symbol when rebooting)? Is there a simple way to 'relock' the bootloader and return it to being able to install apps like Netflix from the Play store? If not, it's going back for a refund which would be a shame as it's otherwise a gorgeous device. Am nervous about attempting anything complex in case I brick it - the first post I hit when searching around this issue suggested relocking the bootloader could do this.
Many, many thanks in advance for any advice!
Install platform tools on a laptop or pc, then shut down your device. Boot up it while holding volume down, then use fastboot.
Code:
fastboot oem lock
OR
fastboot flashing lock
try both of these, one should work. This will wipe all data. Then just boot up.
Hi! Thanks for the assist. Would I risk encountering the issue posted here? This is the post that got me nervous that re-locking could inadvertently brick the device?

Okay, what I think happened to them is their device did not have stock firmware. That would make it brick. Google and find your devices stock firmware, flash it, then lock.
I'm sorry, I don't know how to flash firmware. The tablet shows a version that I think is the firmware, as "13.1.4.0(SLYEUXM)". This appears to correspond to a version I found here:
Redmi Pad ROM Download: latest update MIUI 14, Android 13
Download Redmi Pad yunluo firmware & flash file from official website. Latest MIUI 14 and Android 13 update for 22081283G (Global), 22081283C (China)
miuirom.org
Does that mean I'm already on stock firmware?
Try to accept a software update if there are any.
Have updated everything it will let me update. How do I conclusively tell if I'm running stock firmware?
If you can install a official OTA update, you are stock.

Hello.
I see you said it could brick your device. I mean, yes, it's possible but if nothing was modified nothing should happen. Anyway, if you want to be completly safe, use the Mi Flash Tool and download th Fastboot ROM. Choose Clean all and lock and you should be good to go.
