Tempered Glass - Samsung Galaxy A50 Accessories

Which tempered glass are you guys using for your galaxy a50? I am having a hard time finding a good one as the reviews state that the glass does not properly fit or it makes the display narrower( due to the black edges of the tempered glass). Location - India. Thank you.

None fits the curved screen.

There is one from GlazedInc worth 550INR. I am a bit skeptical so waiting for reviews. Has anyone of you guys tried that?

How good are fibre glasses for curved screen? Are those flexible ones any good? Does dust accumulate on their borders also?

I tried the durum one from Amazon. This one is exactly the same as GalzedInc.
It hides the display from corners and fingerprint doesn't work sometimes. I won't recommend.

I am using the Nillkin CP+ tempered glass. Fingerprint works as well as it did without the tempered glass, though it requires a re-registration.
The black borders are almost flush with the screen. The overlap is less than half a mm but it doesn't cut off any text. If you look at it from an angle, then perhaps you can see a few more pixels.
The glass is smooth to touch and relatively smudge free, so overall I am satisfied with it since it costs less than USD 8.

I'm using the one from GlazedInc. Glass is good and doesn't hide the screen more than a few pixels, which is not even noticeable. Touch screen works fine, and finger prints require re registration after which they work well.

But on their official website they say that 550 one does not cover any screen area. Even youtube reviewers are saying the same.
Now I am totally confused.
Can you share some photos of your A50 with the screenguard?
And are you using any cover?
Sorry for too may questions at once.

The portion of screen it covers is not even noticeable if you are not looking for it closely. I will try to post some pics as soon as possible.

Does anyone have any update/feedback about a fully covering tempered glass?
Eventually also a plastic foil, just to don't leave the screen with nothing protecting it

I got an edge to edge 9H tempered for my device from a local shop in Nehru Place, New Delhi. I paid Rs 100.
The cover said for "Galaxy M30" so I asked the guy and he said it will cover whole screen with Infinity U notch.
After applying there were no bubbles whatsoever but it does overlap the screen by a very slight margin.

May I ask if it's this one?

And if it's full adhesive, or just the borders (black frame) ?
Thank You

As it happens, someone I handed the phone to duly cracked the tempered glass. I took this opportunity to measure the area of the screen covered by the borders and as you can see in the image, it is about 1.5 mm. Unfortunately, due to the curved edges of the phone, all glasses will cover some part of the screen and the Nillkin one does so minimally. Even so, it can be irritating in some cases where part of a letter gets hidden by the border.
I had assumed only the borders to contain the adhesive, but after removing the glass, its entire area picked up dust in a matter of minutes that is stuck to it for good. Hence, I would say the entire glass contains the adhesive and not just the borders.

I don't use screen guards because little thing and the glass is cracked. So I enjoy my phone's smooth screen.

I am using this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000628307622.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.496b4c4dxBgk1w
Only 1,3€ for 2 pieces. Fits perfectly on the screen. Only downside is that the fingerprint don't work anymore...

Alright here are some few pictures of it. I dont have the best camera in the world since I never had the reason to buy one so I apologize ahead of time.
Package contents
Note: It does include 4 colors home button for your choosing
Here is the tempered glass fully applied. If you look closely it doesnt fully cover the ENTIRE phone screen. It does leave 0.2ish cm space gap. It does have holes punched for the proximity sensors/LED display/FFC
Spacing and thickness
Another one
Sucky ass camera does not do this justice but I assure you the clarity is super sharp and beautiful color. Its like using nothing on your phone. There are NO dot matrix crap that was on Xgear tempered glass.
Cheap bumper from amazon. It fits and doesnt add extra bulge to it.
Conclusion: Its a must get item if you arent into the plastic and/or polyurethane style. Installation was a breeze and it took me a bit longer because I am extremely anal about dust and the super tiny lint. I had to use the alcohol swab because I saw 3-4 lints so I had to lift it up and reapply the protector. All in all Im super happy with mine.
open that badboy and give us a review!! Hopefully it doesnt have those dot grid that the xgear has.

Aww im jelly. But I got mine from Amazon and shipped from SGP itself so I didnt get any free case. Availability was 9/5 and it left the warehouse on 9/4. Just got it today so they exceed my expectation. I will recommend SGP to everyone now.
That does look very good, with a case it would be hard to tell there is one on there. Might look decent on a pebble blue s3 since they include the home button. with a case wrapping everything else.
Is the adhesive all over the screen, or just around the colored border like the xgear one?
I wonder how long will it be til they come out with other colors, this would look great to cover my corner crack. https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/296752_10151086342373557_657668591_n.jpg

Haha yea I paid to get mine faster. It was shipped on Tuesday n I got it today. I couldn't wait to get this n man its really worth the $35. Looks n feels just like glass. If it wasn't for the outlining (since it doesn't cover the entire screen) you wouldn't even know its there.

Can you verify that those Spigen Neo Hybrid cases will fit with the glass protector? I have the GLAS.t screen protector at home because I haven't had time to put it on. But in an email I got from Spigen, they said their case and glass protector will work together. I want to order the case asap but I want to make sure.
Thanks in advance.

Review of Otterbox Alpha Glass tempered glass screen protector for Note 4 w/pics!!!

This is a review of Otterbox Alpha Glass tempered glass screen protector for Galaxy Note 4. http://www.otterbox.com/Alpha-Glass...xy-Note-4/sam38-galaxy-note-4,default,pd.html , and on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-Clearly-Protected-Protector-Samsung/dp/B00OY7QZKO/ , though currently out of stock.
Before I start my review, let me answer the obvious question on a tip of every Note 4 user tong - yes, there is halo effect Unfortunately, Galaxy Note 4 was cursed with a curved edge screen, and now we are stuck with not being able to have any tempered glass screen protector that sticks to the edges of the display. I already tested about half a dozen of brand name and no brand tempered glass protectors, and they all have an issue of not being able to stick to the edges even of the visible portion of the display. So why have I decided to review Alpha Glass anyway? In my opinion it offers a few bonuses that make it stand out from other glass protectors. Here is what I found.
Arrived in a slim box, it's definitely has a nice presentation typical for most of the Otterbox products. Though it says made for Otterbox cases, you have to realize this is a universal screen protector that's going to work with every case. Due to Note 4 handicap of curved screen, everybody trims down their screen protectors for N4 to cover only the visible portion of the display, thus you going to have plenty of margin to work with any protective case. Also, though having a typical 9H hardness rating, it's a thin glass that should work even with Defender case and its built-in screen protector. And just like with any other tempered glass protectors, you have anti-shatter and scratch protection, transparent touch screen sensitivity, and ultra clarity.
Included with a screen protector are a cleaning alcohol wipe, cleaning cloth, and a set of instructions. I'm sure a lot of you have experience with screen protector installation, but just as a reminder - make sure to work in a well lit area, dust free surface, wash your hands with soap before application, wipe your display with alcohol pad and let it dry for a second, and don't hover over with your t-shirt during installation (keep in mind that your cloth has plenty of dust specks).
One thing that made Alpha Glass install stand out from everything else was a yellow tint protective film on top of it. Typically screen protectors come with two protective film covers where you remove one from a "sticky" side first to apply to the screen, and then remove the outer one after the installation. Otterbox used a yellow color film on the later one which makes it VERY HELPFUL in alignment of the glass during installation. This is important because glass is pre-cut to cover only the visible part of the display and if you are OCD about your installation like I am - this will guide you in a perfect alignment.
Installation was a breeze and literally took me a few seconds. Of course, right away I noticed a halo effect around the edges. As a matter of fact, it's very noticeable and even wider than in some other screen protectors. But at the same time, I found Otterbox Alpha Glass to feel smoother to the touch and glide than any other protectors I looked at in the past. Also, I felt like colors on the screen were more vibrant with this glass protector, definitely very high level of clarity and transparency. Furthermore, all the cutouts were perfect and the edges were rounded and smooth.
Overall, unfortunately I haven't come across a perfect glass protector for Note 4 and most likely never will (just being realistic when it comes to Note 4, but would like to be proven wrong). The only way to have a perfect fitment is to have a flat screen and a flat glass on top of it. But since we don't have this luxury, you just have to go through different available options to see which one will suite you better. One definite advantage of Alpha Glass is an assisted installation with its colored protective film, a very smooth touch surface, and a bar none tech support and warranty where Otterbox always stands behind their product.
Here are the pictures.

That looks entirely acceptable to me. I'd buy that one in a minute.
Another fine review. Guess I'll hold off on the Alpha glass until I try my revised Zagg's that are on the way. Alpha's halos look pretty substantial.
Definitely gonna give this a try when they have it in stock. I'm one of the lucky ones that has a Note 4 that doesn't have much of a curve or it starts a lil later. I'm using a supershields right now and its good except that the they cut the bottom so short that it just barely covers the multitask and back buttons.
Just curious is the screen in the bottom picture your home screen? Is it some kind of quick glance?
So, was this better then the Mime Ghost Glass?
I have the Zagg glass. Perfectly clear with a good fit. I like it.

I believe the Verizon Note 4 has the worst curve of all the carriers, starts inside of the actual display area.
This Alpha glass might be perfect on the AT&T version.

I haven't received my Alpha glass yet. I really do think the alignment matters. Otterbox claims their Alpha Glass covers mainly the screen area. Therefore, there should hardly be any halo.
The Zagg GLASS also has to be precised placed to avoid possible halo.
The Otterbox Alpha is compatible with the Otterbox Defender Series case. It should take minimal effort to snap in the clips on all four sides of the inner shell of the case. I couldn't get one of the clips to snap in place with the Zagg Tempered GLASS.

Well, I ordered over $100 dollars of Glass protectors. However, I'm returning one piece to Zagg for a refund, and possibly going to sell a couple of other pieces to friends and family. That would make it $0 dollars.
I'll probably keep the Alpha Glass as my only Glass screen protector, in-spite of the halo others are reporting. I'll also keep my HDX from Zagg. For backup, I have '7' PET Xtreme_Guard Screen Protectors for the Note 4 (Good Quality, $3), 6x SuperShieldz for the Note 4 ($5).

It's cause of all the users reporting different results with same color, carrier, and screen protectors. The screen curvature appears to be inconsistent. I am #4 now.

The best tempered glass screen protector - fits perfectly

The long search for a good tempered glass screen protector has an end. This protector fits perfectly, without bubbles and feels very good.

I think so, because it's only 0,3mm thick.
How is it holding up so far? Are the edges of the protector lifting up, because of the X's curved screen?
I read that Mocolo and Frosmall are fingerprint and oil magnets, how's this one?
Does it fit good with the TPU case that came with the phone?

Is this 2.5d? From the ebay description it doesn't look like it. Are the edges of the screen protector sharp or rounded off?

But isn't the original tempered glass and the other ones made not to cover the entire screen for a reason? For example - the edges of the protector lifting up after some weeks of using it? I cant belive that they are made that way by a design error, or not?

Hi OP,
I have ordered this one. After trying a few, all of which failed this one should work, this one is better anyway b/c it pretty much covers the front (as opposed to the others e.g. official/nillkin).
Should arrive around the middle of March, can't wait! :fingers-crossed:
Edit: BTW how was the application process, easy/difficult? Any issues I should be aware of?
Just got confirmation that my white version of this screen protector arrived, ill post pictures when i get around to installing it (might wait due to the glass screen protector i have on is still good enough to use for a bit longer so dont want to waste it lol)

Edit: BTW how was the application process, easy/difficult? Any issues I should be aware of?

Hi. No they're no problems with the application process. I don't know why, but you don't need to prune or push bubbles away with your fingers or a card, because after it was launched on the screen you don't see air under the glass.
The delivery time is not as long as described, the package arrived me after 2 weeks.
Alright screen protector but the white color has some visible bubbles in the white (can see in pictures) and the screen protector has a black border that covers a small small amount of the screen, but other then that it fits good and covers most of the screen unlike others but if I get it again I'm going with the black colored one.
(Also i got mime off of Amazon through prime)

Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Huawei P9

Hello everyone, have you bought the Huawei P9? If you have already got or decide to get one, you will absolutely need some accessories to protect your phone. Please share any screens you have bought or tested on this thread. Thanks
I'm still waiting for protectors like this one
http://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...60454460704.html?spm=a2700.7724838.0.0.bSa7Po
But at least they are getting produced...Hopefully they will be available soon
I planned to buy total body screen protector from Gadgetshieldz. Have previous experience with them so this time I'm going with them.
I have seen many screens on Amazon, Alibaba and ebay. Brands like ivolver, idefend and so on but no one has actually showed the actual screen on the phone and have just shown a general computerised screen picture. I have come across one seller on ebay called Varietyproductsuk who has shown the screen on the phone.
I have shared the link here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-Genui...486812?hash=item3ac283485c:g:rpsAAOSwiYFXKm81

There is a seller on alibaba selling it but the screen from sides are smaller and the cut-out are different from the front in comparison to the ebay seller.
Seller alibaba - https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Newest-tempered-glass-for-HTC-P9_60449969347/showimage.html
I tried to save the image but i cant copy the link due to alibaba protection.
As you can see from the images, there is only two cut outs, whereas the eBay seller has 3 cut-outs from the front. Will this be a issue for the phone!?
Please share any screens bought or sellers or videos of screens.
Thanks
I can only hope that there will be a decent battery pack cover for this phone.

I bought that protector and have just applied it. It doesn't cover the whole screen, which is rather annoying. I will probably take it off. I have asked the seller if they have a protector that covers the whole screen.
Update: the seller says that this is by design due to the curved edges of the screen. I am not convinced, but there you go. I cannot recommend this protector as it makes the edges of the screen hard to read. Hopefully someone else can find something better.
I used the protector for 24 hours and gave up on it. Because it doesn't go quite to the edges of the screen, you can't use any apps where you have to swipe in from the edge (e.g. Play Store) since your swipes aren't completely detected. The protector only needs to be a few mm larger and then I think it would work. I am not sure if other protectors are any better but this one is really not suitable for the P9.

Unfortunately they are right, the screen is curved sides in the protection must be narrower. Gurdate that result from a slightly wider protection.
Now I'm buying a new closer, posterolateral photos just applied http://www.protectionfilms24.it/articolo/brotect-airglass-premium,-pellicola-in-vetro-per-huawei-p9-2729457.html

That one looks much better; the screen appears to be completely covered. Please report back!
Hi guys
I though I will share mine here too.
I got my phone recently and was looking for screen protector. I bought a classic tempered glass but it did not cover the whole screen, which looked really bad, not to mention the handling of the phone. I've looked around and I found this:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/3D-C..._2&btsid=01b95c8a-8907-4008-97f7-29822867ccda
I've ordered the above curved glass ( fully transparent version), once I receive it I will post an update here. hopefully it will fit well.

This one also seems to have real photos and it looks like it covers the whole screen http://www.aliexpress.com/item/3D-C...wei-Honor-P9-Protective-Film/32664982219.html
In the Mediamark at least in españa put one of the brand zagg that are gummy come up to the edge and do not break. They are fantastic and also they have for the back part
same problem
I've ordered this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/High...wei-P9-Curve-Edge-Protective/32537551794.html and will report back.

I'm guessing this is the same protector as the one you have? http://www.ebay.com/itm/351740087633
I think its the closest to a full screen protector we can get.

I bought that one.
I am not happy with it.
By the description i thought it will be class sot of, but it is just a film and it is not bigger than the
glas i am currently using (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01AGNS49E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
So i will stick with the glas.

Can you use a case with it? I used to have a full glass for the s6 edge but using a case would pop the glass out.
@tnhh post#17 (for some reason I can't use the quote function so this will have to suffice)
Yeah, that one is not to size at all. I posted some feedback on aliexpress, but I might have been to nice in the comment since it's more or less useless to me at this point. That said it does cover the screen itself, it's just the placement of the holes that is a bit off that makes it useless to me. I'll probably go ahead and order up the one Riddo mentioned and see if that will be a fit, if not I'll probably just go ahead and get one of those protective films.
If you want some accurate measurements to see on your phone I measured up the size: It's 13.5cm long and 6.7cm wide
I'll also post a couple of pics later with it on top of the phone.

recommended tempered glass for the s8plus?

Guess no one has the s8+ to try yet but with previous models with curved glass, what glass screen protector did you find that worked best? That had the best fitament?
I ended up cracking my screen on my note 7, I had the IQ shield on, it held the crack in place but didn't prevent the crack from happening when the phone fell out of my pocket.
This time around I want a glass screen protector that would take the crack in place of the actual screen.
Suggestions?
No curved screen protectors stick the right way. They only have glue on the outside edges.
Yeah after watching the drop tests, I am very concerned about the curved screens. Might actually take the Samsung warranty at least for a year.
I've given up on screen protectors and just go with a minimal case, worked great for me and have dropped it plenty of times

Honestly, me too. I never drop my device though. Works so much better with a naked screen too. Screen protectors produce a slight lag.
loads already available on ebay and amazon... maybe it's improved over the s7 edge... haven't had any offers yet for free testing... i wouldn't mind trying some glass for free for a review
There has yet to be a curved screen protector for any device that worked reliably on more then a few individuals phones. It's been this way for years, and just because we have the S8 coming... well that has not changed. They will all still suck for the most part. You might get lucky with one, but most as in the past, never will.

Yea I agree, most curved glass protectors suck. They don't have full adhesive through out, usually just the edges. Which causes lag or loss of sensitivity from the air gap. With the curved edges, its hard to completely squeeze out the bubbles and they get trapped, with the glass protectors. Easier to do when everything is flat.
Someone needs to invent one that is thick as glass but applies like the film ones then hardens like the tempered.
I look at it this way. Yes, most do not stick on completely. I'd take a few bubbles over a cracked screen. on my Note 7 i used one that just covered the flat part and didn't cover the edge, looked like ****, but made me feel a little better in case of a drop. Hopefully the companies make better ones.

i've been using screen protector on my old HTC evo and yes there is a lag
but
since my Note 2 and then Note 3 i have been using tempered glass and i have not notice any lag in fact its smoother than the bare screen whether using your fingers or the s pen.
can't say on the S series as this will be my first one

Biggest problem is, that most cases will push the tempered glass off again, i have seen this problem on a S7 edge, sekund time whit no case for weeks, there was no problem.
Is there glue or adhesive on the edges or the whole protector?

Edge only. Every glass protector for the s6 and s7 edge were all edge only. And ( wait for it. )..... they all sucked. Either had the rainbow effect, clicking sounds, and it would limit the screen's responsiveness in spots. Because they don't fit right, crap comes in under ever single hole and edge on it. There never has been one that covered the edges that worked. Just l like the last 2 iterations of the phone, if you must have glass, wait for the vendors to figure out it doesn't work .. again.. and then make one that only covers the flat parts of the screen and looks like crap.. but it works.
Even GPEL decided to make case freindly screen protectors:
https://www.gpelstore.com/collections/galaxy-s8-screen-protector-tempered-glass-collection
As all we won't know if they work or not until someone tries it.
Was able to use a case friendly case to work well with UAG case but that's after 3 or 4 TGSP. But as many not exactly perfect and one strand of particle got through. It's on a position that doesn't bother but you still know its there.

A case with a lip large enough on the top and bottom to protect the screen from hitting if it were to fall flat. I can't stand the wet apply ones, and the normal plastic ones are not much better. It's been in my pocket etc and I have no scratches at all. It's not ideal, but there were no other options. I do wish there was.
