Best settings for battery life - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello everyone, as the title suggests, I wanted to know your opinion about how you configured your device using Magisk modules. I personally use Evira Kernel (downloaded from the ROM section), and as modules: LKT, Sysconfig Patcher and Universal GMS Doze. I must say that with these I am more than good for battery life, and I can easily do 3 days of use. I'd like to know, what are yours? If you have some form to recommend, that doesn't conflict with mine, or maybe give me better suggestions, they are always welcome. :fingers-crossed:

I never used any optimizations on miui as it is already very restricted and battery oriented. 2 days of battery life is normal for this device, i get 6-8h sot and 48h standby everytime.

You're right, however, here is the screen with an active 4-hour screen use, if you consider that the last recharge was done 36 hours ago, and I'm still at 40% with 1 day and more remaining, they do practically 3 days. Now, I was also pleased to hear about what you use, and maybe some suggestions or a better magisk module. thank you.

Nope. I currently have mi note 10 lite, but that screenshot is from my girlfriends redmi note 7 using pixel expirience

With pixel experience 11 im having 4/4,5 hours of SOT (whatsapp, edge, reddit and youtube). Then i tried predator kernel on pixel experience and usually 7 hours of SOT with same usage with 10/15% battery left, i could push to 8 hours but maybe phone will die. To be noted, phone is used and battery health sit at 88%, roughly 3400mah off original 4000mah

If your bootloader unlocked why not root? If you really want the best battery life then like I do I'd suggest stock based rom, root and xposed then install greenify and amplify.. both of those will control apps and wakelocks to reduce battery use and I always have positive results from that combination.
Edit - I get 5-6 hours sot

Battery Life on OOS 5

Just wanted to start a central thread for people to share SoT's and other battery-life-related info for the new OOS 5 build, and the other Oreo builds that may eventually follow, OnePlus willing.
I'm just waiting to see how battery life turns out, and how stable the build is, before upgrading. I figured many others would be too, so any of you brave first responders who want to fill us in would be very appreciated!
Useful info to include:
*Screen-on time (ideally with a screenshot of app usage)
*Average standby drain per hour
*Rough difference between standby drain when on WiFi/LTE (signal quality is the biggest decider here, so if you have an idea how good of a signal you may have been getting, please include that too)
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to let us know! (Remember to click the thanks button for those who help us out!)
So far so good. Pretty much the same as nougat.
i lost 40 % in around 1 hour SOT. that's very bad...
Very good, better than nougat
Hi, maybe a survey can be usefull ? Like "better than nougat" or not
After selecting location mode to GPS only, my idle drain with Oreo open beta is really low. I usually have 80% battery left when I go to bed. The other day I somehow disabled wifi and still had 80% left, so cellular battery usage is minimal.
Way better battery life than nougat.

There isn't a lot you can do about google play services and android system wakelocks, that's just Google spying on you and selling information about you. Limiting those almost always breaks something, they build their internal services confusingly on purpose because spying on you and selling that information is their core business model. You just have to do trial and error and see what works in your use case.

Is the LeEco le pro 3 Elite worth it in 2018?

Hi,
as the title suggests this smartphone is currently my top pick, i have a tight budget (120 euros/140 dollars); and the Le pro 3 sits comfortably at 116 euros shipped.
Would you recommend it? I have zero experience with modding but i'd like to learn; are the chanches of hard bricking it (x722) high? I would not be able to replace it for while.
Thanks!
At this price you can't get any better.
A few phones at this range might have a bet camera and the official support is almost non-existent, but it's beautiful, well-constructed, has good battery, a good community and it's super fast and smooth. Is runs everything without lags and the processor is equivalent with the ones of iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7, 300€/400€ phones.
There are currently 13 Oreo ROMS for it and will surely be more, P included.
As long as you flash files compatible with x722, you will not brick it.
Normally, it costs 150€, so run for it. NOW!
P.S. I think you posted in the wrong place, maybe you can ask a moderator to move the topic.

My bad, i thought this was the right section, sorry.
It still worth it AS A FLAGSHIP.
why should be worth? you have a "OnePlus3" inside as hardware.
The right place would have been the questions and answers section.
Just make sure you use the ROMs for the x722 some are universal some are not if you stick with the le pro 3 elite x722 development section you'll be pretty safe as long as you're careful and read everything in the first post you should be OK just make sure and do a full backup in twrp and copy it to your PC in case of problems. If your unsure about something don't do it till you're certain you understand the guide. Good luck
Yes and no.
If you want a phone that just works then get something else. Yeah, the Le Pro 3 has better looks and internals than other phones but the software is never perfect.
Currently all Oreo Roms drain the battery pretty fast, battery life is still good but not outstanding anymore. Also there are always some other minor issues like a wonky signal, app crashes as so forth.
The Redmi Note 4 or Mi A1 are the obvious other choice. You're getting a more "stable" package but the phones don't feel as premium, the RN4 also has worse camera.

Ah ... bullcrap. What does it mean "Oreo..drain the battery pretty fast"?
In technical terms, I charge the battery in the range 20-85%, and this delta of 65% = 2,645 mAh.
That charge lasts me a week (my Nokia E71 would not last that long).
Standby discharge + some usage = avg. 0.5%/hr (20mA/hr), airplane mode overnite = 0.1%/hr (4 mA/hr)
Maybe A1 with Nougat lasts longer with smaller battery, than X72x with Oreo...
And the RN4? To beg the commies for letting me to unlock my phone?
Really?
At this moment, the X722s (X720s long gone) are disappearing from the [Chinese] warehouses, ergo the price went over $200,
but if one doesn't have to pay any duties/taxes ... it is still a bargain for this 2 years old phone. https://tinyurl.com/ydamcw9y

Don't worry, the phone is fine. The battery still lasts quite long but I haven't gotten 9h screen on time on any Oreo ROM anymore. Things are constantly improving, you just need to spend a little time to reading the forums and flashing a new ROM now and then.

Best battery rom and kernel combo?

Hi! I just bought my pixel 2xl and have had it for about a week. As soon as I got it I flashed havoc on it and noticed very poor battery life. Was getting about 3hrs sot with very normal usage. Weird. No games or anything. Just YouTube and social media. Only thing I can think of is I was at school and some areas have poor service but on my one plus 6t that was never an issue. I know it has a bigger battery and more efficient processor than the 2xl but the difference shouldn't be 6hrs of sot worth. Any advice? I love the ability to customize so I don't want a very plain rom but if battery life is stellar I'm open to all option. Thank you!

Enviado desde mi Pixel 2 XL mediante Tapatalk
Personal experience, I get similar on-screen time on stock or AospEX or Liquid. As for kernel, Evira or Cesium are both good for me. I would try a couple different roms in their basic form and decide what suits your needs them start working on maximising battery second to that. The blackened script does a great job along side all that I listed above.
I've been running pixel dust for a few days and that's been better. Not good but better. Around 4hrs sot.

+1 on AOSIP with built-in caesium kernel and BM; I also use AquariOS with caesium or Kirisakura kernel with BM. Both have been very stable and good battery life. The main reason I use these is that Verizon VM, volte and WiFi calling work.

Weird. I installed blackened mod and left the kernel alone. Down to 90 percent with ab 30 minutes sot. Haven't been off my phone since I woke up. Haven't don't anything but reply to emails, scrolled on Twitter for a few mins, and watched like one YouTube video. Is that normal? It seems quite high of a drain compared to my past OnePlus phones.

Not at all. Same as stock. Unless it's a janky rom
Where can I find more info on AOSIP?
Can see the download link above and would like the best battery friendly ROM as well. Or would stock be best?
My only issue with stock is the light backgrounds and no root for adaway, etc. There are apps such as blockada that is said to work well but have not tried it.
Thanks for the feedback here, can't find anything on AOSIP. No feature list or screens or why the consensus from posters here would be that this one is near the top in terms of battery life.

I believe I found the perfect ROM for Mi Mix 3

AospExtended v6.3 Unofficial.
I'm not longer sure where the link to it is buried, but it's out there somewhere.
It's basically a Pixel rom with GravityBox-like-options spread through all the settings.
Also the only rom which allows me to exclusively turn off the 180 degree rotation.
Bluetooth works, no other hiccups either.
But by far the best thing about it, is that the battery optimization is the best experience I've had on a phone for years:
Light usage: 9hrs SoT, 3days 6hrs StandBy
Moderate usage: 12hrs SoT, 2days 3hrs StandBy
I don't game but I'd think I'd squeeze 8-10hrs of heavy usage if needed.
The only downside is I think the Rom is no longer maintained, but hey, I can live without constant updates.
Wow! really good! But a link to rom download would be appreciated!

Why is only invisiblewave allowed to decide on your favourite design? I feel I can step up to that responsibility and do just as good a job as invisible can.
If you have fingerprint set up then check for another fingerprint, maybe he's got one registered which lets him use the phone
